Tori Blue is a pig with lip stick on. That's how I describe this place. I simply came here for a drink and it was empty. The decor is beautiful but the soul of this place is missing. It also had an odd smell. I enjoyed a local beer on the patio . Service was acceptable and friendly. The potential is here but something is missing at Tori Blue.

Really great food and service. Prices are moderate. I will definitely return for lunch and look forward to dinner. Best jambalaya I have had outside of Louisiana! Way to go chef Amanda. My server, who happened to be named Tori, did a wonderful job. The only adjustment I would make would be a request to bread the calamari a little lighter. It was a little heavy. Thankfully, not too salty. And the remoulade was delicious!

First time at Tori Blue and I will not be returning unfortunately. Walking in the interior is lovely, but at Friday night at 6:30 pm it was empty, I had a feeling that was a bad sign. Everyone was super nice that we interacted with and we had a very kind server. They asked if we wanted something to drink, I asked if they had a cocktail menu which they replied no because they've changed management and are working on it. I ordered a lemon drop martini and it was good, it just took a long time to come out despite there being four customers in the whole restaurant. We ordered the crispy Thai broccoli and Brussels for our appetizer. That came out pretty quickly and it was delicious! For our entrees I ordered the honey spiced salmon with mashed potatoes and a garden salad. My husband ordered the Tori big bowl Mac with seafood. His looked very appetizing, much more than mine. His dish was tasty. My dish fell apart when I bit into the salmon to find it RAW. I cut more into it to look and the center is just completely raw. The server comes over and asks if it's too under for me, well yes. He takes the plate and reheats my picked apart salmon and just brings it out on a warm plate. The salmon then was more done but still raw pieces. I've had salmon dozens at times at restaurants and have never been served one like this. It seems like they made the sudden shift from trying to be a fine dining restaurant to changing everything to have more "normal prices". When I made the reservation I saw a delicious lobster ravioli that had stunning pictures but when we went there that's when they said there's a new menu and new management. This restaurant simply won't last.

My sister and I went here for a girl's brunch and it was such a great experience! I appreciated the fact that they allow reservations for brunch where most places don't and it eased my mind about having to wait outside to get a table. That being said, yes there were not a lot of customers in the dining room, but it's really what you prefer or make of it. The music added to the ambiance and I personally preferred having a peaceful environment that wasn't too overstimulating for conversation. Erin our server was helpful and friendly. We got the bottomless mimosas, the Mini Cinnamon Bun (which was actually a small pan of 6), the Croque Madame with cheese grits and the Monte Cristo with cheese grits. The grits were INSANE. If you're craving that authentic southern, cheesy deliciousness, they have the best. The sandwiches were quite big and the flavors all added together so beautifully. Overall it was a great experience! Perfect location next to Wards and 460. I'm interested to try the dinner menu but brunch was a hit.

Great food and great service. It is a bit pricey but for a special occasion it is a good spot to celebrate.

It's next to a small playground and new amphitheater, so I'm sure this place gets quite busy on weekends. One person in our party said her salad had the best dressing she's ever had. The fried pickles were good. The shrimp was good. One bartender was good. Cons - We walked in and basically weren't sure what to do. There was a woman at we thought was a hostess stand, but she never said anything to us. We finally asked if we needed to check in with her to get seated. We did. But it was kind of weird. One bartender was awful. Never made eye contact. Wouldn't take any orders. Acted like she wanted to be anywhere else. I thought the Caesar salad was ok. It came with lacquered salmon. I would have loved the salmon, but not lacquered. It couldn't be made to order. Ok fine. I ordered it the way it was described. There was nothing lacquered about that salmon. It also was shredded on top of the salad and was maybe two ounces. That's ridiculous. Our server wasn't very helpful and not very attentive. I'm sure many people have had great experiences there, but I'm not sure I would take the time to go back.

I have several issues but will start with the first one that really bothers me: 1. As I approached the restaurant I noticed this homeless man walking around the block with a walker. I was in Dish from 5 - 6:30 and this homeless man came in THREE times to go into the bathroom (he was not a customer). This was not only a huge turn off but IMO a sanitary issue of him going into the bathroom doing who knows what. I saw the expression on the waitress face like she did not know what to do. Was there a manager working? Is this how it is at every restaurant in town that they allow homeless people in to use the bathroom? Are there homeless shelters for people in town to provide care and feeding for them? 2. I ordered a glass of wine on the Happy Hour menu and it was weak, like water was added to it. 3. I ordered the Smoke Salmon encrusted in Puff Pastry and the puff pastry was not cooked all the way (it was clearly visible that it was not a golden brown but rather a pale yellow. I just hope my future experiences in this lovely town on much better than I experienced last night. And one more thing, I have stomach issues today, and all I can think of is the cooks using that bathroom where this homeless guys went in 3 times in 90 minutes. I question how this is not Board of Health Violation.

Abby was very attentive and came to the table frequently to check in and do refills. To start off this dining experience, we ordered the crab bites and a couple of clam chowder. First off, the clam chowder was great. It was one of their special items for the week, so it may not be available every visit. The crab bites were just okay in my opinion. The remoulade they were served with did have a good flavor though. I probably wouldn't order this appetizer again on a future visit. I've had a couple of people tell me to try the hushpuppy basket on my next visit. For the main course, I had jambalaya and would definitely have it again. The sausage, shrimp, and chicken were perfectly seasoned with all the Creole spices you want and expect with jambalaya. The people with me had fish and chips, crab cakes, and the Low Country boil with crab legs. Everyone was pleased with their main courses and agreed that they would come back to try more items. Overall, I would say this was a good new option in Lynchburg that's definitely worth a try, especially if you're a seafood lover. Can't wait to see how this restaurant develops after this soft opening week.
