Tornado Crepe is one of those places where you pass by their beautiful display and suddenly you're interested to see what they offer: Me and a very special friend of mine walked by exploring Roosevelt Ave on a cold November day aimlessly. In an instant, we decided to have some crepes because why not. Even with Covid going around some indoor seating was available (which was much needed as it was freezing cold.) They offer a vast selection of crepes and hot/cold drinks. Me and my friend order our crepes and roughly 8 minutes or so give or take our crepes were ready. The crepes are exactly what you expect it to be. A crepe filled with the sweet taste of ice cream. The fruitiness and natural flavors of the fruits inserted into your crepe. Presentation and view of the crepe WAS almost as beautiful as the girl sitting across from me. Nothing will be as beautiful as her. With her smile and her laughter filling me up with joy. The crepe was tasty. Worth the 7 dollars price tag but spending time with her is priceless. read more

This is a dessert place owned by Asians- hence the bubble tea, matcha ice cream, thai tea ice cream, and Vietnamese coffee ice cream (to name a few) offerings that opened up in the part of Elmhurst where most of the food is Hispanic or Latin (tbh I'm not sure what word to use and I hope I don't offend anyone with my lack of expertise in this area) about a year ago. I didn't think a crepe place would do that well in the area but surprisingly Tornado Crepe seems to be doing pretty well. I stopped by at around 10pm (they open till midnight) because the warmer weather made me crave ice cream and it was busy enough for a line to form but not to the point where everyone was crammed inside (the area is small btw). I remember seeing their menu a year ago and noting the various misspellings and strange phrasing and upon entering tonight it's good to see nothing there has changed. I give them an A for effort since their "fire ice cream" menu has some pretty creative names (Men N Black = black sesame or tangue thaid = Thai tea) so I will overlook the misspellings. I ended up getting their happy matcha fire ice cream (matcha and pistachio rolled ice cream topped with chocolate wafer straw, Oreo, strawberry slices, whipped cream, and what I assume is vanilla syrup) which is about $7 (as of April 2019)- standard price for rolled ice cream. It took them about 7mins to get to my order but to be fair they had about 6 dessert crepes to make before me. When I got my ice cream it was smaller than I expected (if you've had 10Below imagine 80% of that size.. that's basically how much ice cream you get here) but I took a photo of it anyway for your viewing pleasures. The ice cream wasn't bad. I liked the strawberries cause they weren't overly sour and juuuust a smidge overripe. The rest of the toppings we're pretty enjoyable too cause they gave the ice cream some variety in terms of taste and texture. The ice cream itself was alright. It tasted more like vanilla ice cream with a hint of matcha and some pistachios tossed in but I only say that because I've had REAL green tea ice cream before and usually the green tea gives the ice cream a very distinct tea smell with a slight bitterness. I made a mental note to come back and try the thai fire ice cream though since I LOVE Thai iced tea and not many places offer it as an ice cream yet. Tldr: Ice cream was okay. A little small. The employees try their best to be fast. Toppings are nice and they offer pretty creative flavors. read more

Had a really bad experience at this location with the customer service. The lady taking the order got the order wrong, even though it was repeated to her three times. When I finally received the crepe, when I asked for a waffle, I found a piece of plastic three spoons in. I'm glad they replaced the crepe but still gave the wrong order again. The customer service really needs a upgrade, it's hard to come back to a place with such rude behavior and lack of listening skills. read more

This is probably one of the best kept secrets in Jackson Heights since they Have delicious crapes that include ice cream for cheaper than the other places. Are usually get the one with the banana and Nutella comes of that ice cream, and I like the Decour inside and the staff are pretty friendly. Doesn't take that long to put your order in, and you'll see your crepe made Right front of you plus they have a loyalty card so I'm waiting to fill it up and get my free one. read more

I popped in here one day by chance, as they were the only crêperie open late near where I was LIC. I am so glad I did! The service was great, the brown sugar bubble tea my husband ordered was really good, and the Tokyo Sundae crepe I ordered was delicious. The cafe itself is also very cute. We ordered a fried Ice Cream and got regular Ice Cream, when we called to tell the girl that was not a fried Ice Cream just a cup of Ice Cream after explaining to her what Fried Ice Cream was! She was so rude and kept saying: Yes it is, Yes it is, Yes it is. I know fried ice cream and that was a regular cup of Ice Cream! Waste of money, never again! This place used to be good. I been here couple of times in one month and every time they forget to put something in my Crepe which I have to return and tell them my order came with such and such thing. I try couple of times thinking they might get it right but my last visit they gave me half of crepe since it broke in two and black banana that tasted disgusting. Honestly no matter the service, whether it's good or bad I rarely write a review unless I'm really impressed. I don't know where to start with this place. It's just amazing. The crepes here are very good they have a decent sized menu and they're not as expensive as the competition around the area. The customer service is very good and the delivery guy is extremely friendly. (Sometimes I order 2-3 times a week. Yupp, that's how good it is!) Anyways I highly recommend this place. Idk if they hired the wrong people to handle delivery orders but they don't care about even fixing the mistake they've done. BE CAREFUL IN MAKING DELIVERY ORDERS if you're wondering why you're food isn't ontime? It Is bc the delivery guy could care less about it. The space is small but really cute but the dessert was just just ok. This is a small space maybe room for about 9-10 people to sit. They have bar stools and a tiny table in the Corner. The problem is they don't have too many combinations of flavors, they don't give you enough ice cream for the portion size of the waffle/crepe and the waffle/crepe is so hot that your ice cream melts immediately. Since there's just not enough ice cream by the time I got halfway through I had this warm soupy Nutella thing which might not be an issue for some, but it was just cloyingly sweet with the melted ice cream. If the waffle at least was harder or was allowed to sit a little longer I think half of the problem would be solved and for $6.50 I'd like some more ice cream! It wasn't a horrible experience but just could be better, it seems relatively new so I don't want to bog them down with three stars thinking they'll improve some of these things! read more

Wayyy better than T-Swirl crepes. I had the Mojollia crepe which was to die for. It was in some ways light, but just sweet enough, and delicious. My friend had the Tokyo crepe was heavenly as well. Highly reccomend!! You have to go here if you love T-Swirl crepes or just crepes in general. read more

This is a pretty decent place to get crepes, but it's definitely not my favorite place to get crepes. However, the workers that works here are super nice and gave me really good recommendations when I didn't know what to get. They're super friendly and offer great service. However, the crepe itself is a hit or miss. Sometime when I come here, the crepes turns out to be amazing, other times, it isn't that great because the fruit were as sweet as last time. Usually I tend to get the red mango crepe or the pistachio and matcha ice cream. The fried ice cream is really good. Pistachio and matcha is such a unique combo but it's such a good combo. read more

Really surprised at all the great reviews. The place itself is cute but basically looks like a rip off of T Swirl Crepe. There was one person standing online in front of me and after placing her order the girl behind the counter loudly yelled "next customer," as though I was standing hundreds of yards away. I ordered the smore's crepe and was terribly disappointed. I watched the girl making my crepe make the disaster in record time.The crepe wasn't crisp, it was thin and soggy like it hadn't been cooked enough. She hardly bothered breaking the crackers (they were pretty big crackers) that go into the smore's crepe and dumped them all in one area instead of spreading them around. If you've ever been to T Swirl Crepe you know that crepe making involves layering into swirls for even distribution. I guess I know why this place is called Tornado crepe now. I really hate throwing out food and my boyfriend will eat almost anything but after taking a couple of bites of this soggy mess we threw it out. I was heading to igloos cafe while craving crepes but since the place is shut down(or not? I'm not sure. But whenever I pass there, it's just closed) I headed tothis small store. I ordered crepes without ice cream and the price was $5. I tried strawberry and banana(Mojolia), Nuts party and savory one with dry pork in it(Egg roll). All are made to order and super filling. Also I can choose either french style crepe or Hong kong style bubble waffle! I hope I can try all of their crepes( they have a stamp card to fill in ,too!). One thing that I have to say is the ventilation issue. Although they have a certain amount of sitting area for customers, I saw not many people are inside. They rather take out or sit outside. I think that's because whenever they make a new crepe, the overwhelming smoke comes out from the waffel machine.
