This isn't your typical gym where you just go to work out--it's a place where you go to genuinely become a better person. Even with a full gym, the experience feels personal, like you're getting one-on-one support. KJay is always smiling and so encouraging, which makes a huge difference. I've only been part of the SCE family for less than a month, but it's already completely changed my perspective on working out. I'm one of the youngest members here at 21 and a college student, but I've seen people from all age ranges, from early 20s to 60s+. Age isn't a barrier--everyone is welcome. I love that you get out of it what you put into your fitness journey. There are no mandatory classes or strict schedules; you can come in whenever you want, and KJay is always super accommodating, trying to be there for your workouts. On some days, I can really push myself, and on others, if I'm not feeling 100%, I know I can take it easier without any judgment. A week after joining SCE, I injured my shoulder pretty badly. It was supposed to take months to heal, but with KJay's support and positive attitude, I was back to my normal life in just two weeks, doing modified workouts. I'm so grateful for the energy and optimism he brought to my recovery. When they say SCE is a family, they truly mean it. However, what sets them apart from the rest is that they are a women only environment. This is awesome for me because I get intimidated at gyms fairly easily. I'm not in the best shape (round, I'm told is still a shape:) ) and I have wobbly bits and bits that continue moving when I stop. I'm self conscience. Here that doesn't bother anyone!! All different women from all walks of life with all sorts of shapes can come here and get their workout on! A typical routine consists of kettle bells swings, side lunges, burpees (aka the devil), ring swings, running/rowing, and wall balls. As you workout, you use your body weight against yourself. It's called plyometrics! These women here are an inspiration and someday I'll be able to do it as well as they can!!

The classes are great for both conditioning and strength. The atmosphere is amazing too. Everyone is encouraging in the classes and pushes each other to reach their max potential while working out. Luke is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to get the most out of you while you are in the gym. His trainers are amazing as well and do a great job adjusting to each individual at the gym's strengths. It is nice for me to know that I will be coached and corrected to proper form and told to go down in weight to make sure I am not hurting myself and getting the movement right. I had never done really anything with kettle bells so this was all new to me so the coaching has been great from all the trainers at The Lab. I look forward to times I go there because I know I will pushed to my max and never forced to do a movement that hurts me because they are great at giving you a variation or something different to do in place of that movement.
