I have rented from this store in the past and enjoyed the friendliness and quality of the rentals. My friend and I recently rented e bikes and we were having a great time. We knew we wouldn't make it back in time to return the bikes within 2 hours. We called and informed the associate that we definitely will be late. We were late by one and a half hours. When we arrived the same person that rented us the bikes was in the store to receive them. We let him know we had a great time and immediately asked what do we owe you? He replied to both of us that don't worry about it, I'm glad you had a good time. We said thank you. We chatted a little and left. 2 days later we both received a text message that was an updated invoice. Not knowing why, we called and it was the same associate that said we were good. We reminded him what he said and he declared he had no memory of that conversation. I replied why didn't you have us pay when we were there? He said I realized you were 2 hours late and it's $40 an hour. That was also inaccurate because we both paid $60 for 2 hours. He then told us that he would reduce it to $20 each person. But why did he wait 2 days and how was he not aware of what time we came back exactly and how long we were actually gone. And why did he not call us immediately instead sending us a text invoice. Very bad business decision. We will not be renting there again nor anyone else I know. He knew we were late and we called him 2 times to let him know. So he should have discussed it when we got there instead of pretending he doesn't remember having that conversation that me and my friend both heard his reply 2 days later. Anyway up till then the customer service was great. We wanted to pay but he never brought it up except to say don't worry about it. Too confusing. As a business owner the best way to solve this issue it to always have the customer sign the rental form upon return and call attention to the customer if there is a balance due instead of waiting 2 days later. Or not even a call from this associate at all. Or just forget about it as it was his mistake. And hope for good return business. We paid the $20 each and we would have happily paid the full amount when we were there. We weren't trying to escape paying but we definitely didn't like the shady way of going about getting money from us. read more

We love this place super sweet owners. What an awesome way to tour the South Bay on the bike path. We usually take the bikes all the way to marina del Rey, have lunch then bike back. I like how they have the bike with the seats in the back for 2 small kids. It's very powerful and has a lot of charge, comes with helmets and safety locks. Sue was wonderful and really went above and beyond. When my Pedego bike was unfortunately stolen I gave Sue a heads up and sure enough the person that stole the bike (or the person that bought the stolen bike) came into the shop a few months later to get the stolen bike serviced. Sue let the person know that the bike was likely stolen and took it back from them matched the serial number and then called me and let me know that she recovered the bike. The bike was damaged by the thief and Sue then did an great job restoring it to like new condition. This is the type of small mom and pop business that we should all support! Went to this bike rental place in Redondo Beach area and at first I was a little hesitant to rent. I guess I had this notion in my head how I wanted my day to go riding on an electric bike. Needless to say all worked out well! The owners were very nice and showed us how to ride and where the bike trail was from the place of business and off he went in one direction and off we went riding in another direction for 2 hrs. It was a nice day for riding and everyone in my party had fun.. although wish the bikes were cleaned up before renting especially with COVID these days.. but no worries I had wipes. read more

Kenny and Sue are in the Pedego ebike business for two reasons: They love the bikes and they love people. They have been fully trained by the Pedego company and know everything there is to know about the bikes and the batteries. Kenny is a talented mechanic who can make a bike sail down the street. So, if someone tells Sue that the Trail Tracker battery is a "48v3ah" battery, that person is clearly guessing badly. She knows the real voltage and amp hours of every model and its available batteries and chargers. As a former colleague of this amazing couple, I know that when someone walks into a store and tries to purchase a battery or a charger without a bike, they are quite often trying to fix up a stolen bike. When a bike is stolen, it is often taken without a charger or other critical equipment, so the receivers of such stolen goods (whether they know it's stolen or not) are asking for items to make those kinds of bikes work. And, by the way, when an ebike is stolen anywhere in Southern California, ALL Pedego stores are informed. And if a person is innocently asking for a charger for a bike that mysteriously doesn't have one, then they might try to understand how bad that looks to ALL store owners. What Sue has done was to be polite, not wanting to offend a store visitor. She hadn't lost interest. She was suspicious. But she was being polite. A lot of store owners wouldn't have been so kind. Anyone who tries to do this in any ebike shop should not be offended if they're asked to bring the bike into the shop and have the serial number checked. That's policy for a lot of stores. Ultimately, let's all support a local small business owned by good people who are working very hard to bring something wonderfully fun to their community. As Sue always says, "Hello, fun!" read more

The owners are SUPER nice and friendly. I rented a pedego for a full day, got there at 11 and returned back to the shop at 6. Very affordable prices, $50, which included rental, helmet, lock and a bag that straps onto the bike for your belongings. Very easy and fun to ride. Rode from Redondo Beach to Dockwieler with PLENTY of gas left. The gas indicator did not go down a bar. I could have gotten further but I stopped to eat and watched hang gliders. The strand gets busy on the weekends so I wasn't able to constantly cruise fast :( Parking was easy on PCH and there is also a parking lot in the back near. Plenty of parking in the residential area too. read more

No high pressure sale here, no overloading of accessories. The day my bike was ready, I was unable to pick it up, they drove all the way up to the other side of Rancho Palos verdes to deliver it. Nothing force them to do it, bike was paid in full at time of ordering, and could have sit in their store until i come to pick it up. They came after closing their store and dropped it. I visited this store with the intention to purchase 2 electric bikes. I ended up buying them from a different dealer, mainly because of price. Months later I took my bike to this location for service. Sue, the franchisee, refused to service my bikes. She said "I remember you, why didn't you buy the bikes from me. I don't want to service your bikes." She was very rude and quite frankly didn't wan't to help! Wow. Image if you purchased a vehicle at a dealer then went to a different dealer for service and they told you that they wouldn't service your car because you didn't purchase the product from them? Unreal and unheard of. I subscribe to the notion that you earn your customers through service and support. If anyone asks me where they can purchase a bike like mine, I'll tell them to go anywhere EXCEPT HERE!!! I purchased a Pedego because of the dealer network - without service and support, the brand is just like any other brand on the market - no need to pay top dollar for poor service and support. read more

A fun day out along the beach. We rented 3 electric bikes for a day out after Christmas. Sue was extremely helpful setting us up, and provided helmets, locks & bags that attached to the bikes. Rental was $50 for the day, 10am - 5pm. We joined the beach path at Redondo Pier and headed to the end of the bike path in Pacific Palisades, making a few stops on the way. The bikes were easy to control, and covering the 40 miles round trip was a lot easier on the legs than taking a road bike! However, be mindful of battery life; after 40 miles our batteries were running low. Arrive early or reserve in advance to ensure bikes are available. You'll be glad you did! read more

They dont' seem interested in helping customer. Store closed on Friday even when we were assured they will be opened.
