I'm shocked this location doesn't have a review yet! After going to my first class a few weeks ago at their downtown location, I've checked out a couple classes at their Sugarhouse location and have had a wonderful experience every time. Everyone from the front desk staff to the instructors are so friendly and motivating and helpful. Every class leaves me feeling so energized and ready to start my day. The studio is so clean and cute with all of the necessities you need to go straight from a class to the office. They have showers and towels and all of the amenities you need to head straight to the office or plans after a class. I just checked their website and they have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, body lotion, hair dryers, flat irons, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, cotton swabs, and more. Part of me wishes I still worked in an office so I could take advantage of these amenities before going into work! If I had discovered this studio before working remotely, this would've been a life saver for saving time in between taking a class and going to work. The classes are fun - 45 minutes long which is the perfect length, and they often have fun themed rides as well. About 30 minutes into class there's an arm/shoulder weight workout for the length of one song. The energy in this studio is so much fun, especially when the class is full!

I love torrent, there's multiple locations and the sugarhouse + downtown location both have smoothies, coffee & muffins at Tenet! They're so yummy. The spin classes here kick my ass but you honestly forget it's even cardio because it's so fun

I've never felt more welcomed into a studio by an instructor before! I took Alissa's class, and it happened to be her birthday ride (happy birthday!) She greeted me when I arrived, then made sure my bike was all set up when I got into the ride room, asked for my name, shouted me out in class, and followed up with me afterwards to see how I enjoyed the class. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed, Alissa! At the end of class, a staff member passed out a cold towel to every single person in class while we were stretching. Cold towels are SUCH a nice touch. It's located above Athleta in Sugarhouse, and can be a little tricky to find your first time if you don't know where it is. Just walk up the stairs to the right of Athleta and you're there. They have lockers here and showers. I have my own shoes but they offer complimentary shoes. Excited to check out more classes here, but just wanted to shout out Alissa for being so welcoming!

CHVRCH Cycle is located in a really cute restored home and is a really beautiful space. It's very clean, organized, and brightly lit. Elia was the instructor on the morning I attended a class, and she was wonderful! She shouted me and multiple others out in class multiple times, and made me feel really welcomed. A couple things to note that makes this spin studio very unique compared to other spin studios in town: 1. Everyone receives their own set of headphones when they are in class, and all of the music and choreography plays over the headphones while you're cycling. You can adjust your personal volume, which is really nice because some other fitness studios play really loud music and I've had to use ear plugs. 2. This is a very brightly lit studio space, and there are no lights off to distract you from the workout at all. It's a beautiful space, but sometimes I love to have the darkness, especially during the difficult rides. Just something to note if you tend to enjoy riding in a darkened room. Excited to come back here again! Thanks to the staff for being so welcoming!

I didn't have any negative experiences here, this style of workout space just wasn't particularly for me. When you're a member, you have access to the studio at any time. They have a variety of workout classes in private heated rooms throughout the studio, and you book your time and the workout that you want. Different rooms had different equipment - there was a room for yoga, a room for spin, etc. They want you to purchase one of their mats for the yoga because the sauna is too hot for regular mats. You can adjust the temperature of the room to your liking. I believe each workout was 15-20 minutes long in a heated sauna room. You definitely get your sweat on, that's for sure! The rooms are small, but I believe you can technically fit up to 3 people in each one. I would personally never want to share that small of a space with someone, though. They also have some gym equipment in the back of the gym for a regular, non heated workout. I prefer group workout classes because of the energy of the room. I know several people that swear by sauna workouts, though!

I didn't have the best experience at this particular studio recently. I did a free weeklong trial at CorePower to try out all their studio spaces. I had great experiences at Trolley Square and Highland, but my experience at Foothill didn't leave me wanting to come back to this location. It was my first time here, and it was insanely busy. They have multiple classes happening at a time, and there are so many people in each class. I did a Yoga Sculpt class, but because it was so busy in the studio, the people at the front desk didn't have much time to give me a tour or show me some of the nuances of the studio space - where towels are, how many weights are needed, etc. The class itself was great and challenging, but the instructor didn't have a mic. I'm not sure if that was personal preference, but it was difficult to hear her cues and instructions without a mic in a big space. As others have mentioned, the rooms are packed like sardines, which can be difficult in a hot yoga class, especially a class like Yoga Sculpt where there is a lot of sweating and moving around. The space itself also felt a little cramped when everyone was exiting the class, trying to get their personal items, put shoes on, etc.

While here, I wanted to share something I enjoy with her and thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce her to an OTF class. She has never been to OTF before, so this was supposed to be her one free class. As a note, I have never been to this particular location. When I called to reserve the class, I specifically asked that we be placed on treadmills next to each other at the START, as I always begin my workout there and find it significantly more effective for me. I clearly communicated this request to the person I spoke with by phone. Many years of counting calories in this class (for me) have shown the best workouts start on the treadmill. Unfortunately, when we arrived -- after getting up early and making the trip over on my day off -- we were told my daughter had instead been assigned to start on a rower. There were plenty of available treadmills, but the staff refused to accommodate the simple request to start us together. My daughter is a highly capable and athletic individual, and there was no practical reason for the refusal. As a result, we ended up leaving without taking the class. If it is their policy to start "new" people on the rowers then that should have been communicated to me when I asked us to start on the treadmills, together. To be candid, this was a very frustrating experience--particularly because it felt so easily avoidable. The front desk staff came across as dismissive, repeatedly saying, "I'm just doing my job," instead of making any real effort to resolve the issue. A simple question from the coach to my daughter, such as "Do you know how to row?" would have clarified everything and allowed us to move on with our day. Unfortunately, the interaction felt more like a power struggle than a customer service moment. When I asked if the studio manager was available, I was told, "She's out, I'm here today," by the front desk girl, which only added to the dismissiveness. To make matters worse, I was charged a late cancellation fee for the class to my account--adding insult to injury. I emailed the studio manager and (no surprise) have not received a response. What could have been a welcoming and positive first impression turned into a missed opportunity. As a result, she will not be joining, and I won't be recommending OTF to others anytime soon.
