What was supposed to be a simple sprinkler system upgrade turned into a much bigger project once all the underlying issues were uncovered -- tangled wiring, malfunctioning valves, and sprinklers that had been installed way too close to the edges. Instead of cutting corners, Torrescape took the time to do it right. Every valve was fixed, the wiring was properly untangled, and several sprinklers were thoughtfully repositioned to actually make sense for the landscape. It took more time than originally expected, but the quality of work was absolutely worth it. He was friendly, clearly knew exactly what he was doing, and had an impressive level of attention to detail throughout the entire process. Do not hire this company!! Javier could not have done a worse job. First of all, he doesn't show up for scheduled appointments. When he is a no show and you finally get a hold of him on the phone to say "Where are you?" he offers a weak excuse about being busy on a prior job. Of course he never called or texted me to let me know in advance he was not going to make our appointment despite knowing he was standing me up. It was a complete waste of my day to stay home to meet with him when he never showed up. Then, I have come to discover that the multiple $250. (each) timers that he convinced me to put in were all installed incorrectly. They never worked. My landscaping just got drier and drier until many bushes and ground cover died. I had to hire another sprinkler company to come in to do the job right. I spent over $2,000.00 on Javier for poor installation of very expensive timers that did not work. Well for starters, when you hire them ie Javier after discussing the project and getting prices on the phone and he says he will be coming over with all he needs to complete the project at a certain time frame then he doesn't show up, doesn't call to say why he isn't showing up. In response to your response to my review, when you say you are going to do a job on a certain day, you do it. You were supposed to do the job when you showed up. I even agreed to pay you more. I don't know what you mean by going under concrete or that it was deeper than expected. I kept telling you the pipe was next to the concrete sidewalk and next to the bed walls and not under it and the pipe was 8 inches down. You said I told you 3 inches which is B.S.. In truth you didn't want the job because it would require hand digging and some sweat and you complained that you couldn't use your jackhammer. They leveled out our backyard and removed a planter, giving us optimal space to use. Also added a dog run so our dog could still use the restroom. Installed turf to the front and back yards. Extended our parking availability out front. Removed a large unused planter to maxize space out front as well and installed a new walkway. Also built multiple retaining walls. This all added great curb appeal and has led to endless compliments from neighbors. It required lots of long days in the heat. Javier and team came out and gave my YARD A FANTASTIC FACELIFT! I purchased a house where the landscaping is done but it had been a while since things were cut back. The week before, Javier came out to discuss what needed to be done (pulling some trees, cutting trees hitting the roof, and cutting back ivy making pathways for critters). The Torrescape team CAREFULLY cut back a very large bird of paradise tree that was super high above the roof. I was impressed that they were able to cut these very heavy branches while being super careful so they didn't land on other plants. During the day of they even CHECKED IN WITHE ME to see if there was anything else they could do. They even check out the sprinkler system and TAUGHT ME how to use it. Javier and his team did an excellent job demolishing our failing railroad tie retaining walls and replacing them with new block walls. We had to navigate some problems, mainly having extremely rocky soil with many boulders in the way, but they were able to make the plans work with minimal changes.
