The long story: I had a technician come out to service our swamp cooler for the summer in May. We hadn't used the swamp cooler at all because we were new homeowners. We bought this house in November, and needed help getting it primed for this Spring and Summer. We knew before buying the house that the swamp cooler was not maintained - but all we thought was that it had rusted and needed new pads, according to our inspection. (The previous owners said it was a relatively new system....it sure didn't look that way.) When I booked the service with Coyote HVAC, I requested a swamp cooler deep clean in addition to the seasonal start-up service, which they agreed to. The swamp cooler was full of rust and we didn't want to attempt to clean it ourselves. A few weeks after their visit, I realized that 1 of 2 vents in the house was not blowing any air whatsoever. (It took me a few weeks to notice because that vent is in-between the dining room and kitchen - not somewhere we constantly occupy or notice direct air hitting us.) Then I remembered that Coyote HVAC ALSO never tested the vents to make sure they were working after they supposedly got our swamp cooler up and running for the season. Anyways - 3 days days ago, the swamp cooler stopped working altogether. When I called Coyote to book another appointment (which I would have paid for), I was told that I am now out of their service area since they merged with a different HVAC company. So we scheduled a different HVAC company who came by yesterday. They reported that every part in the swamp cooler was busted, aside from the pads and the belt. The motor is fried. Only 1 of 8 distribution tubes is working. And, the inside is still completely rusted and looks the same as the photos from when we bought the house. There was no deep clean when the Coyote tech was here. In fact, I am not sure if he did anything at all, aside from tell us that it was "good to go". after spending about 20 minutes on the roof with it. Before leaving, he asked if we wanted to schedule an appointment to learn about heat pumps and a potential system upgrade at some point down the road. I agreed, thinking we would schedule an appointment a different day or the following week, but he immediately called a colleague to come over the same day and give us a $20k estimate for a new heat pump/AC system. Again, the first tech didn't mention ANYTHING about our current swamp cooler being on the verge of complete collapse. We weren't looking to install a brand new AC system, but they were sure quick to try and acquire our money for one. We knew the swamp cooler was NOT in good shape when Coyote HVAC came to prep it for summer. However, the issues that a different HVAC company discovered yesterday (like 7 out of 8 distribution tubes not working) and signs of system distress would have been obvious in May when the Coyote tech was here. I should have asked the technician for photos after he "cleaned" and serviced the cooler. Instead, I made the mistake of trusting Coyote HVAC to do what I paid them to do. How silly of me. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. I was harassed and threatened by the owner repeatedly and now fear for the safety of my family. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL BE SORRY!!! Update 9/28/19: To make this situation worse this company continues to lie instead of completing the project and repairs. Here are the facts based on the owners comments below: - the pictures I provided on this post were taken less than 24 hours after I was told the job was completed and 2 hours after I received the first voicemail from the owner stating that he was demanding payment in full or he would file a lien on my property. - I requested 5 repairs to be made, they came back and fixed 2 of them and refused to fix the others. - The 2 repairs that were resolved were the dryer vent was placed inside the wall cavity, as it should have been, and they extended combustion air vents so that they would pass inspection. - JM Heating and Air refused to make the following 3 requests: 1) They refused to add a heat duct to the laundry room which was clearly requested at the time time they provided the estimate and included in the written estimate I was provided. At no time did they ever state this was not included until after the work was completed and then I was told they could add it for more money. 2) They refused to attach the exterior vents to the concrete with the appropriate anchors and clean the excessive caulking. 3) They refused to add expansive foam to properly seal around the 4 ducts that exit the house. This would have taken less than 5 minutes and less than $5 in parts. I was told they never do that but would for an additional $50-100. I have received numerous angry voicemails and texts threatening to lien my property. The first was left less than 24 hours after the job was supposedly completed and before I took the pictures on this post. Even though the owner did not physically threaten me or my family, I am still frightened for our safety do to the insanity if this situation. I now get to look over my shoulder every minute of the day and hope that this does not turn into something far worse simply because I hired this company and expected them to do the work they quoted me for and do a decent job.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor who appeared to be professional…read more Here's what happened: They performed maintenance on my 4 year old Navien Combi-boiler. Everything checked out and the system was stated to be functioning normally. BUT Dave thought the system could be better if I added a different circulation pump. He also thought the system should be re-piped. As the bid for everything was close to $5,000, I opted to replace pump for $864. Soon after the pump was replaced and that maintenance work was done, I noticed the pipes were clanging when the heat went off. They said air was in the system and wanted to replace the air vent. Before they could replace the air vent my system broke down. It took them a week to get back to fix the problem (that's right! No heat or hot water for a week!). After it got running again the clanking continued and when I called to ask why, I was dismissed and asked to "pay up". I decided to enlist another company certified be the manufacturer to give the system a closer look. You won't believe what they found! The pump they installed was the wrong size(was suited for a large commercial application) and they installed it UPSIDE DOWN! The technician also found the heat exchanger had failed and there was carbon monoxide and gas spewing from it! It had to be shut down immediately was going to cost me $4,250 to get the system repaired! I hold Cedar Creek Mechanical and Dave Sutton responsible for this but to this date there has been no effort by him to make things right. Whats more, the suggestion for the repiping was all wrong. The factory certified technician said it was wrong to move the pipes on this system the way he suggested. So here it is: This company does bad work, suggests things that don't need to be done and then claims no responsibility! I believe they are also overpriced when I compare to others. They might try to deny this, but my system was running fine. I have it in writing. I have all of the receipts. We will see what the judge thinks!

Last week we had one of our units ice up and True sent out one of their technicians to see what was going on. Matt spent several hours and had to leave and pick up a part to repair our unit. He got the job done the same day in temperatures in the high 90s ! To our surprise when the bill comes, there was no charge! True did not even charge us for the service call! Called Right Away Heating and Air Conditioning since the last time they were out cleaning my air conditioning unit found out all services they can do. So called Right Away Heating to come out and check the sewer pipe, they scoped it and tried to clean the line but found my pipe broken and backed up. So here we are after just getting all my front yard landscaping all done few weeks ago Henry gives the bad news that were destroying it to dig out to the street to replace out sewer line. So tell me who can be happy about that? But knowing what the guys at Right Away Heating are capable of doing they were my best and only option I'd ever make. With everything he had going on in his day, he had a sense of urgency to stop his day to handle the situation making calls for equipment, product and labor for the work needed. The next day henry and equipment came early, followed by product needed, he had his ducks in a row and was rather impressive. By 5pm I was able to go to the restroom and shower again, and I must say these guys kick ass!!! I'm a firm believer in using small business all the time and they didnt disappoint!! The only downside is my newly redone yard that's now a battle field, but must say Right Away Heating Won the War!!!
