The meat market inside Tortilleria Leon

When you walk in through the door there's the smell of fresh tortillas and a giant tortilla machine looking right back at you. There are ice chests full of warm tortillas freshly made this morning. There's a small fruit and vegetable section with an ample meat market. in the back. There is a large refrigerator with just about every salsa you could imagine from mild to blow-your-head-off spicy! Thinly cut Rib Eye steaks was my choice for our BBQ to make tacos, with those fresh tortillas. Grabbed a tomatillo-based avocado salsa on the way out and a couple of fresh limes. At the checkout, a woman came up behind me removing my salsa bucket, replacing it with another one that she'd just made. Everything in this mini-mall store was fresh and full of pride. The Rib Eye at $7.98 per pound made awesome tacos. I'll be back!

Someone once asked me, if Gordon Ramsey showed up at my door and asked me to make dinner, what would I make him? Gordon, hope you like carne (and tiki drinks). This local market is close to our house, and they are now my go to for thin sliced low fat carne asada, fresh tortillas, premade guac and salsa. I've had their chicharrones too, they were great. We have a lot of choices in local carne, and this one is just as good or better than the place by the freeway that's always drawing me in with their grill smoke or the well known place in Esco in the questionable neighborhood or the local fancy market. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The meat is not pre marinated, they douse it when you order it, but I've found that sitting for an hour or so at room temp works well. Then onto the grill while I mix up some tiki drinks. Or a margarita, if Chef Ramsey insists.

can't get fresher tortillas than this and great tortilla chips too, crunchy, not oily with a little hint of lime.

I really love the pre-prepared things in the deli their produce is very good as well. I like the fact that they have a bulk section. I forgot to take pictures in the store, but I took a couple pictures and posted them of a couple things I purchased. Their prices are very reasonable. I will continue to always shop here.

Really want to like this grocery store, but there are too many things holding it back. I'll start…read morewith what is good here, the selection of organic food as well as alcohol is definitely above average (no hard liquor though unlike Trader Joes). It is comparable to Jimbo's, Lazy Acres, etc. but the produce and deli departments fall short of this greatness by a lot. The sandwhiches from the deli have been wildly inconsistent in my experience; from the price to the portions and overall quality. I am ordering the same sandwhich every time, mind you so it should be the same. One time they forgot to put the meat I circled in it. Sometimes the sandwhich is tiny and feels like a kid's portion. Other times it is a nice portion that's loaded but I would say that is rare. The staff is where things start to degrade as they could use more training in general. Cashiers could be friendlier, deli people need to learn how to read. The store feels a bit cramped and it always seems very busy which I don't like.. I would say this store is a cross between Jimbo's and Major Market or something. There is no self checkout so I have to deduct points there. They do have an express lane at least. Here's another thing I have to deduct points for: they let people solicit right outside the door and they are always there, sometimes even 2 different solicitors. Trader Joes respectably does not allow solicitors in comparison. The prices are decent and certainly better than Sprouts for the most part, but who isn't? About ordering groceries online: They are not on Instacart! They do, however let you order groceries from their website but I am unsure how good it is, haven't tried it. I thought about ordering online and having grocery's delivered and you do get $10 off your first 3 orders if you do this, but I found out I'm just outside the free delivery range by less than a mile and so there is a $10 fee which is pretty ridiculous. There are some hidden fees as well as I ended up buying everything that was in my online cart in person and it was significantly less. To summarize: Pros: - Above average selection of organic and "natural" foods - Prices are better than comparable stores for the most part - Decent alcohol selection (but no hard liquor) Cons: - Solicitors always outside the door - Inconsistent sandwhich quality, portions and price - Store isn't on Instacart - Staff could be better Overall cannot recommend Frazier Farms for reasons I described.

Walter got in line for us and I went to look at the menu and I did a quick lap around the store...yep it's a market with food counter at back. ATLANTIC SALMON FILETS: I buy a lot of the $7.99 6-ounce Atlantic Salmon filets, the fresh, not frozen ones, from this Sprouts. First, I pan-fry them in butter in a cast iron skillet so the skin gets all crispy and tasty. Then I put a homemade thyme/rosemary compound butter on top of the salmon at the last few 'finishing' minutes. I spoon the melted butter all over the top. That crispy fish skin is like eating a potato chip, lol...or crispy chicken skins...but with an entoxicating flavor you need today. Try this sometime, it's delicious and easy. I like the price, too. MISO TANGY CRUNCH SALAD WITH CHICKEN ~ $8.79: I could eat this salad every day for lunch. It serves two if you're having soup or sandwich with it. It's so good! It consists of 4 types of Organic Greens, VERY tender NAE Chicken Breast, Sesame-Miso Dressing, which brings out a decidedly Asian flavor that you love. Something about that creaminess attained in the miso-paste dressing. I enjoy the addition of a crunchy cast of characters. Shredded carrots, red bell pepper, snap peas, and sesame sticks complete it nicely. This salad is always my favorite! CHICKEN SALAD CROISSANT ~ $6.49 (6 oz.): Made with shredded NAE chicken breast, this is a lovely and filling chicken salad sandwich. Their recipe is light and tasty. CROISSANT 3-Pack ~ $5.79 Buttery and rich, great for breakfast. Somehow, Sprouts is often out of stock on this item. CREAM CHEESE DANISH 3-Pack ~ $5.79 ($1.93/each): I adore these sweetened cream cheese blobs in the middle of a buttery puff pastry round. Heat it up in the microwave for 8 seconds to warm it up. I'm in love with this one! What can I say? I love my treats! **FIVE FABULOUS STARS!!**
