I got to try this location late in 2025, it is fairly new and replaces the Chucky Cheese that was there for year. The parking lot is ok, it is shared with Michaels and several other businesses. The store is new, clean, fresh paint, looks great, and the overall ambiance screams more premium than some of their other older locations. The service was high quality, as it always is at TJs. This Vista location must be the best Trader Joe's in the area. Parking is easy and plentiful! The store is conveniently located off Sycamore and University! It is always well stocked and tidy. Loads of food options in spacious aisles. There are frequent samples near the back of the store, with items located close by for convenience. Checkers and crew members are always happy to help. I had such a memorable experience at Trader Joe's because of two amazing employees, Maile and Kanani. I'm from Hawaii, so I immediately noticed their Hawaiian names, and I honestly thought it was so crazy and special that I happened to meet them both. What stood out even more was that they truly had the aloha spirit. Maile and Kanani were both so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Their energy felt completely different and they made the experience feel personal instead of just another quick grocery trip. While some of the other employees seemed like they were simply doing the bare minimum, Maile and Kanani went above and beyond and really stood out. It's rare to come across employees who leave such a lasting impression, but these two absolutely did. Huge Trader Joe's, nice wide aisles with plenty of room to browse and do your shopping. I was greeted as I walked in and asked if I needed help finding anything as I wandered the store. Lots to choose from and plenty of in stock. I got a bunch of snacks and food for lunches and dinner (including stuff for my college kiddo while he's home for summer break). Not sure there is much I have purchased from Trader Joe's we haven't really liked! Will for sure be back to this location when I am in the area! read more

This is my new favorite Trader Joe's, it's really different from the other locations, the workers are actually friendly and helpful here, the lines are never long and check out is smooth. The aisles at this location are wider and well maintained, I love how everything is laid out and items are stocked and easy to find. I can easily find the foods that I am looking for, which is nice. I love this new Trader Joe's! It's in a plaza with TONS of parking and it's easy to get in and out. You're probably saying "that's so not Trader Joe's!" It's not, but Aldi brother scored a good spot, and across the street is his brothers grocery store too. The store is small and looks like any other TJ but with the difference of wide rows and copious amounts of friendly checkers. Never a line longer than 3 people. Many people working here. The environment is friendly. They have all the good things as any other TJs. Even scored me many bibimbap. I'm sad they don't have the cioppino anymore though. I'm glad one opened up here. Right off the freeway for convenience. And there's also a target, Walmart, and aldi in the plaza. It's great. New shopping carts too. read more

I'm so happy that Vista now has its very own Trader Joes! The best part is that the parking lot is a decent size, and the interior of the store is relatively spacious compared to the Bressi Ranch location. I love how open and roomy it feels. This location is fairly close to my home, making it very convenient. I always enjoy the excellent customer service at every Trader Joes I've visited. I'll definitely be coming here again and again to stock up on my favorite staples! read more

Finally a Trader Joe's in Vista, a great fit! This location is convenient, right off Highway 78 near Target & Walmart. There's plenty of parking (large spots), unlike most locations. The store is brand new so it's clean and fully stocked, hopefully this pattern remains. The crew members/employees were helpful and there were plenty working. The location has the featured items and "what's new," which is always fun. The plants/flowers section was full of colorful blossoms and a nice variety of plants. The seasonal bouquets are something I enjoy, always. Happy shopping! Fun, useless fact regarding the bells in the store: One bell lets the crew know when to open another register. Two bells mean there are additional questions that need to be answered at the checkout. Three bells call over a manager. Lines are long, as to be expected. If your patience is thin, stay away for a few weeks until the crowds and crew adjust. Thank you. read more

Very nice! I love the wide aisles making it feel more spacious, great variety and friendly people. There is no shortage of parking either. The Bressi location feels more grab and go (even though the square footage is larger) where the Vista location is inspiring with its layout to showcase fresh ingredients and allow shoppers to dream about all of the possibilities of dishes that you can create. Always a fun time going to TJ and trying different things and especially seasonal items and often walks out with a lot of great fresh fruits and veggies. Much cheaper than going to Costco! I also find that TJ has the best apples and mangos! read more

Finally we made it to the new location in Vista, maybe even closer than our Bressi Ranch one. It's definitely larger compared to Bressi Ranch location (now parking is also much better than Bressi Ranch). The selection of the products is larger here (the setup of the store reminds us of the Encinitas one). What is stands out, that the Trader Joe's are holding the prices low, comparing to Sprout's in Bressi Ranch. Sunday usually a busy day, but with all checkouts open, not a long wait. One more thing - you can ask any employee a question and they will gladly walk with you to show you the place. Lastly, one star off - it's a freezer inside and nothing could be done according to employees we spoke about. read more

I am not normally in the Vista area, but we traveled out to go to the furniture stores and needed to grab groceries for dinner. Apparently this Trader Joe's is a newer location. It has pretty good parking and is a pretty good size inside. There are a few places where multiple carts trying to pass by can be a little traffic jam-y but overall good size aisles. The workers are the friendly staff we have become accustomed too so that is great. Got to quickly grab some staples and a few new items to try out. read more

We just moved to Vista from Carlsbad Village and this Trader Joe's is 1000x better than the one off oceanside. At the oceanside one, parking sucks and is so cramped coming in and out and that crampedness is the same inside the store. At the vista location, parking has been a breeze and inside there is so much more space. The whole experience feels way less stressful and there's barely a line to checkout. So happy there is finally a Trader Joe's in Vista, and right off the 78 too! It's super convenient to get to and I love that I can hit almost every store I need with both sides of the shopping plaza. I know they are still new and getting a feel for their stock needs, but multiple items I went looking for during my last visit were out of stock and/or just not there. These items are staples I purchase at other nearby locations all year round. Besides that, this location is super clean, more open spaced than other locations, has SO much easy parking, and short lines at checkout! Stumbled upon this Trader Joe's during a visit to Living spaces in the parking lot next door. Was on my way to Aldi's but decided to stop here for a few things to see if I could tick off my lair first. I learned it was quite new to the area having only a small one nearby. The parking lot was busy but it was easy to snag a close spot. The store was pleasantly busy as well but not unable to navigate. I grabbed some flowers for Christmas and a few produce items and meat. I have never been good with budget grocery shopping or shopping for just meals so my total was about $80 for all. There were no strawberries so wondering if fresh fruits are harder to come by this time of year even in California but there were diff dried fruits that makes a great snack on the go for my one year old. Would shop here again if I need to hit up Trader Joe's! read more

Finally made it to this new Trader Joe's! I wish it was closer to my house. My local Trader Joe's in Oceanside is always packed. This was such an stress-free shopping experience. There was plenty of parking, the aisles in the store had plenty of space to move around and it did not feel crammed. The aisles were actually wide and comfortable for 2 carts to pass! Yay! They had a nice selection of produce, and wine. I thought they could have used a bit more beer but not too shabby. Checkout staff was friendly. I would definitely come back if in the area. Stopped in to get a couple of things and of course ended up getting more than I planned (happens every time). I headed to checkout area and this very nice employee asked if I was ready. She was polite and cheerful. She thanked me for bringing my own bag which has never happened before. Then as she was ringing me up she told me one of the items was going to expire the next day. I was so glad she did. I was tired after a long day and hadn't looked at the dates. I appreciated that so much! I wished I had l looked at her name tag or asked her name. Today was my first experience at the Vista Trader Joe's and let me just say what a bad taste in my mouth. The checkout experience was awful. I had my 2 sons with me and we were purchasing the viral Trader Joe's Halloween bags in which the limit was 4. I bought 4 and my oldest son was purchasing 4 so he and his brother can each have a set. The cashier rudely said that kids didn't count. Now let me just say, kids do count and do have a voice. They do earn an allowance money and wanted to use their own money to purchase these bags. So when the cashier said kids don't count, let me tell you from a mother's perspective, this does not sit well. Highly disgusted and upset with this employee and store. read more

I'm so happy they built a Trader Joe's in vista as this is a much more convenient location for me. The store is very nice with all the food we love from Trader Joe's. The staff there are always so nice. In other places you have to search for people, when there's always people here to help you. They'll even stop what they're doing just to do so. Every visit is so amazing at this new location. It is easy to park, spacious, bright and clean and checkout always so quick. Today Mark greeted me and my baby with a fresh cart, which he wiped down for us and helped me strap my little guy in.
