This was a small and cozy locally owned and operated torta restaurant. I don't even really know what I got because I asked the guy to make me the most popular torta they had since they had so many options on their menu located conveniently on the wall. There however were no prices anywhere which I found a bit odd for a fast casual restaurant. The seating area itself was quite small and the chairs weren't the comfiest, so i took the food to-go. The ladies are super nice and cooked your tortas to order, right there in front of you. Our favorite is probably the mango and papaya smoothies - so fresh and tasty! A friend recommended this place so I had to try it. I'm not a big tortas fan and this is the first torta that I actually like so that's saying something. I got the Petuguna with jalapenos. It's well-balanced, not too oily or too much cheese. I highly recommend the mango papaya aqua--it's real pulp and large. They're open Sun.-Thurs, 11-9pm and Fri.-Sat. until 10pm. Great little place! Went here on a rainy day, so I'm hoping that's why it was so empty. The owners are really sweet and I almost got through a whole conversation in Spanish before I finally got stuck on a couple of words at the end, but she was nice and helped me out. Their tortas are delicious and the have quite the variety of combinations as well as a design your own torta. They use great bread and cook it to perfection. Got a sandwich right before a long night of studying and it was enough for two meals for me. I definitely hope to stop by more often now that I know how close it is! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a delicious torta! The only other thing I've tried from them was the flan. Came in on a Friday afternoon, the place was empty which is normally a red flag if it's Friday at 6 pm. Anyways, i ordered 2 tortas to go. This is definitely a good place for tortas. There is so much variety as far as ham, steak, chicken is concerned. The tortas were decently sized, all of the fixings such as the lettuce, tomatoes, and jalapeños were decently spread and in good amounts. I didn't feel short changed on that or that they over did it on lettuce to cover up for not putting in enough steak. I will be returning and trying more on the menu. We decided to give Tortisimas a try after reading the few reviews here. Jackpot! This place is FANTASTIC! Made fresh on a grill right out front, these sandwiches are jam-packed with fresh and tasty ingredients. I had the Hawaiiana and my buddy had the Coqueta - both served hot and delicious. Obviously this place is quite new, so just a couple of suggestions (ok...gripes...) - dining area is quite uncomfortable, high stools with just a choice of a counter or 2 smallish tables. They have plenty of drink choices, but a self serve soda fountain would be a great option. Nevertheless, we will be back for sure! read more

I had no idea Tortisimas existed, but I'm certainly happy to see a new torta shop spring up. She got me the Hawaiiana, a mix of ham and pineapple (b/c that is the only thing that Hawaiians eat, right?). As most tortas are, the sandwich came loaded with tomatoes, onion, avocado, mayo and beans --- along with a side of adobo sauce. The spot only gets three stars for now (a-ok) until I get a better feel of what they are about.
