2014 YELP 100 CHALLENGE - 29/100 I LOVE this Tory Burch! This is my go-to Tory Burch location and I absolutely love it! I prefer the layout/floor plan of this store a lot better than other Tory locations because it's wide rather than deep and narrow. The shoe sections of her stores are ALWAYS the most crowded because that's what she's mostly known for. I feel like in this location, it doesn't feel that busy and/or stuffy in the shoe department because there's more room in the shoe dept. They have two couches for trying on shoes/sitting down, and they're far apart from each other so the traffic isn't so bad. The sales associates at this location are WONDERFUL! One lady remembered me because I go in there too frequently... :P They are really helpful and provide some of the best service I've ever had in high-end retail. I am really indecisive about choosing shoes (especially because her shoes are not cheap!) and once spent over an hour deciding what shoes to get...lol (yes, I am one of those people :P). The lady working with me was totally patient and helped me decide the pros and cons of each of the shoes I was looking at. Overall I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store and I highly recommend going here to anybody who's a fan of Tory Burch! TIP: One thing that I don't LOVE about this store is that it's located in Santa Monica, which has higher sales tax than almost everywhere else in Los Angeles County. It's at 9.5% when almost everywhere else is 9%. You'll end up spending a few bucks extra but if it doesn't bother you then it's not a big deal.

Received this in the mail not long after my visit. how sweet :)

Came in here on a mission to purchase Reva flats. Shavee was the one who helped me out and even offered me a bottle water/soda. I came in only wanting to purchase the black flats. But I saw the lobster red Reva flats and fell in love with that one also. I was in & out within minutes since I knew what I wanted. I'll be coming back to this location in the future. Not long after my purchase I received a thank you card from Shavee in the mail. How sweet and thoughtful is that?

I've stopped in many times, sometimes just to browse and other times on a mission-- and each time, they treat me right, without pressuring me to buy anything.

I brought in two pairs of shoes, each needing a heel repair on one shoe. I was charged $40, only to later discover that the rate is $20 per shoe--yet only one shoe was repaired despite my bringing in the full pair. The man with whom I was dealing was so combative that I chose to let it go. Additionally, I had previously brought in another pair a little over a year ago. Unfortunately, the heel fell off again while I was walking into a restaurant. When I returned and explained the situation, I was told that I must have originally brought in only one shoe--an explanation was ludicrous, as I would never do that. If 1 shoe is going to fall apart, it's same to assume the other will as well. Again, I did not argue. I paid $80 for the two pairs I picked up and was issued the same ticket for the new pair I had just dropped off. I was advised to contact the owner regarding the recurring issue, as the repair work had clearly not held up. I spoke with two different employees (manager? owner?) over the phone, both of whom assured me they would investigate and call me back. No one ever followed up. When I called again a few days later, I was simply told the shoes were ready. When I went in to pick them up, I was told I owed $100. I laughed because I genuinly thought he was joking! This same grumpy and combative man claimed I had not paid for the previous two pairs and was also charging me $20 for the current repair--even though it was to fix their own prior workmanship. When I explained that I had already paid, he insisted otherwise and showed me a calculator printout that said $100. He said that if I'd paid, he would have a receipt. So furious, I stormed out. After checking my wallet, I found the $80 receipt confirming my payment. I called back and offered to send a photo of the receipt as proof. I was asked to return in person, to which I said "never!" I requested a number to send the photo instead. He agreed but never sent me the number to text!!! Hmm....did he realize how he's been busted trying to steal from me by double charging? Had I not kept my receipt, I might have been pressured into paying for services twice. I'm sure it's happened with plenty of customers who did not hold on to their receipts! I find it funny that this dude was so unrelenting about being paid, yet I never heard back from him. Now, I need referrals for a good shoe repair shopt please!

I found the shoes at a thrift store, and they were almost brand new. Unfortunately, after wearing them for only a few minutes, the upper and sole completely separated. To make matters worse, the silver finish around the heel area started peeling off during the same outing. I was devastated because they were such beautiful shoes. At first, I tried fixing them myself with super glue, but quickly realized this was a job for a professional. That's when I decided to take them to Sedlar's Shoe Repair. From the moment I dropped them off, I felt confident they knew what they were doing. They asked for cash payment in advance, which was perfectly fine with me. When I picked up my shoes, I was genuinely amazed. Not only were they repaired, but they looked much better than I expected. The workmanship was excellent, and the shoes feel solid and wearable again. It's becoming harder and harder to find skilled shoe repair shops in Los Angeles, and I really appreciate that Sedlar's is keeping this craft alive. If you have shoes, boots, handbags, or other leather items that need professional attention, I highly recommend giving them a try. I'm thrilled to have my favorite shoes back, and I hope this wonderful old-school neighborhood business stays around for many years to come. Let's support the talented local craftspeople who help us repair and reuse instead of throwing things away.

Mary, has not only become a friend; but her style and 'backbone ' are a welcome relief from the usual bland retail mentality. I see some of the negative reviews and I'm amazed because this has not been my or my numerous friends experiences who have been introduced to this business by me. Ce la vie!

DO NOT BUY CUSTOM LEATHER JACKETS HERE…read more These guys have no idea what they are doing when it comes to measurements and tailoring and have terrible customer service to top it off. I wasted $1,600 on a leather jacket that's 10" too big for me and they won't exchange it or give me my money back. I stopped into the store one day, and a woman named Mary extolled the many benefits of a custom tailored leather jacket, mainly the specifics of how well it would fit. I bought one, and she took my measurements for it at the store. Nearly six months later it arrived and was WAY too big (see photo #1). We arranged for a return and she asked me for my correct waist size. I told her (and this is in writing via email exchange "I wear a size 32" jeans") and she assured me that would be enough for the correct jacket to be sent. Another nearly six months go by, and the new jacket arrives. And low and behold, it is again way off in the waist. I measured the waist (see photo 2) and it corresponds to a size 44" jeans. And now the store is accusing me of having worn the jacket and refusing to process my return, sent the jacket back to me, and refuses to answer my calls or emails. I spent a year dealing with these clowns. They are negligent and have no clue what they are doing. They got the measurements wrong not once, but twice in row! And now because they don't want to have to pay for the jacket (presumably the manufacturer is not to blame so they would be stuck with the bill) they are looking for loopholes in their return policy to stick me with the bill despite the fact that this is clearly their fault. DO NOT BUY THINGS FROM THIS STORE - THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING
