After having several friends recommend this place we decided to stop in for a nice dinner. I recommend reservations as we did not have them and thus we sat at the bar. This was not an issue for us, just something to mention. While the building is large, the restaurant was rather small. Maybe 18ish tables or so from what I saw. The host greeted us and offered bar top seating which was no problem. Our bartender was kind and fairly attentive, he gave us time to look over menus and answered questions as needed. Unfortunately, I truly did not like the vibe at all. It felt very stuffy and I'm not talking about the room temperature. To top it all off, the food was simply ok. For the price point I expected far better, but at least now I can say I checked it out and won't be returning. Family of 5 never receives food... A much needed night out was met with disappointment at Toscanos tonight. We were greeted well, wait was around 25 minutes, can't complain there, it's a Friday night. Server seemed pretty nice. We ordered the Flat Iron (Coffee crusted rub steak), the squash risotto, and two pizzas for our kids. Approximately 1 Hour and 15 minutes went by and my wife and I never received our food. As in, it never came out of the kitchen. We had to politely ask the waitress to box it up from the kitchen. Luckily our kids got their pizzas about 40 minutes in. My wife, my 1 year old son, and I got the gift of just sitting and watching everyone else in the restaurant eat. Got to be honest, don't feel great about spending $140 to just sit in a building hungry. Our waitress didn't even offer to comp anything, not even one of the kids pizzas or the drink I ordered. My husband and I came for dinner to celebrate a special night and although we were seated pretty quickly, we spend most of the time waiting, for service, for food, for check, we have never been at a restraunt for so long. We didn't even get a refill on water once. We didn't even get complimenty bread. Idk if they just don't do that anymore but in the past we always got bread while we waited. We went to Toscano's last night for my partners birthday. It was us and our daughter. First time in. We had a really nice time. The food was very good. I had a kale and fig salad. My partner had spaghetti with a side of meatballs And our daughter had kids linguine Alfredo. Our host was very nice, the server was prompt and friendly, and it was a and had a lovely atmosphere. It's a little out of the way and I chose this restaurant because my significant other loves spaghetti and meatballs. We used to frequent this restaurant and used to love it. We were given a gift card by our kids so decided to go again after a somewhat disappointing meal several months ago. Even chef's have bad days. The menu contained even fewer menu items that looked interesting but we took a leap of faith. The soup was basil/tomato and, while I love garlic, there was so much in it I did not eat mine. There was no bread with our service which is new and my favorite meatballs tasted mostly burnt. I thought the spaghetti bolognese was a pretty safe bet but my pasta was actually undercooked and still crunchy in spots. My husbands seafood linguini had two prawns and tiny little clams with gummy/chewy scallops. For a man who normally devours anything seafood, he did not finish his plate. My husband made reservations and told them it was my birthday. I was given an address and told not to look it up and just let the GPS take me. He said casual fine dining so my expectations and excitement was up. I showed up and this place is in the middle of some construction. Not a problem. The parking however, is a problem. There's a sign that says parking for the restaurant is away from the restaurant, but there's parking right out front. Strange. When you enter the lobby, there's a sign saying wait to be seated. My husband arrived first and was seated at a table super close to that sign that had about 8/9 chairs. There was only 4 of us. It took over 27 minutes to even get water and drink orders in and we had to flag someone down for that to happen. Plenty of waiters walking by and giving us the strange "generic smile as I walk by" look. No one stopped. No one asked questions. We were basically just left there. We waited quite some time for our appetizer and food. After the 15 minutes we waited on drinks we ordered all the food at the same time, because we were worried that the waiters would leave us there again. We had basically been there almost 45 minutes and were starving at this point. My kids didn't have too many afternoon snacks after school because we were holding out for a special dinner. By the time the bread hit the table both kids devoured it. Both the appetizers were gone within 5 minutes of arriving to the table. When the food finally came, they ate every last bit. The food was actually good, but my 4 year old cleaned the plate of kids spaghetti. She doesn't finish anything. I can't give a fair review of the food in light of how hungry she was before finally getting it. I had the seafood pasta. The pasta is definitely fresh made, but I can't attest to the actual flavor, because I was starving by the time I ate it. The wait times there were crazy. It didn't help that we had to watch as other people enjoy themselves. The check was over $300. The service was bad. I don't recommend it. We got the clams as appetizer, I ordered the hibiscus sour for my cocktail, my entree was the spicy spaghetti & anchovies and we had the s'mores cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious! My in-laws ordered the cavatappi & sausage and the seafood papppardelle and they loved their dishes. I recommend calling to make reservations as their dining area is fairly small. Lots of parking in front and good service. When we first sat down and someone dropped off glasses of water to our table, she wasn't welcoming. I was relieved to find out she wasn't our server. Visited for happy hour on a Friday. For me, great service and food are equally important when choosing an upscale restaurant. Toscanos service was unacceptably poor. (1) After being seated there was a service breakdown with no greet within 10 minutes. Although seated at a table, out of desperation we put in drink orders at the bar. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the misstep. (2) My drink was the Mojito which was by a wide margin the worst Mojito I've ever had. Mint was inserted as garnish into liquid base, not muddled / smashed. Manager (owner?) when checking on us heard about the drink said "oh no, that's not good" before going on to check on the next table. No apology, no recourse offered. Our server Kurt (?) was fairly attentive after our initial sit down issue. The food was good. Arancini was quite good and carpaccio was the best I've ever had. Meatballs were marginal. Focaccia was served cold (we would have preferred toasted warm) with fresh dipping sauces; we loved the basil infused olive oil but not the tomato based dip (it was super fresh though). One odd thing on the bill that we did not alert the waiter to was our second glass of wine wax put in for $1 more the first glass without explanation (same wine, before 5p happy hour cut off). That said I go out to relax, enjoy, unwind. And ambivalent service takes that away for me. Will we go back? Maybe. Avoid the Mojito. read more

First time here. The restaurant is beautiful and very clean, made me excited to try the food. Our server was personable and attentive, our waters were refilled regularly. We had an event to get to afterwards, so we did not indulge in any wine or cocktails. Menu looked great and we ordered the Marsala steak bites and some focaccia to start. For dinner spaghetti bolognese, their raved about Martini clams, chicken piccata and the pork chop with blackberry sauce. I did not try the spaghetti, but out of everything else, the mashed potatoes were the most memorable bite of the meal. The chicken piccata needed salt, but the chicken was tender. The pork chop was well cooked and seasoned. The biggest disappointment were the clams. They were fresh, but the overpowering flavor of celery and lack of salt ruined them for us. My wife and I came to Toscanos with friend for dinner. We sat outside in enclosed area and I ordered a beer, wife had iced tea and her friend had coffee. It took almost 15 minutes to get our drinks, but at least they brought us water. We noticed on the menu, at bottom, that Toscanos is now charging 4% to tack onto bill to pay the back kitchen staff and help pay for their health insurance, etc. WTF? How about YOU pay them better. The menu prices are already way up (example is a $65 steak). We ordered the Bleu Chicken Flatbread appetizer which was good. For dinner my wife ordered a bowl of French Onion Soup and half a Ceasar Salad. Her friend ordered the Chicken Piccata and I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese + a Sausage. Also ordered a side of Focaccia Della Casa bread, which turned out to be 5 small pieces of bread with 2 small containers of sauce (one green and one red). It didn't even come with butter. Before dinner arrived a live musician began to play mostly country western songs (which I don't mind) but it was so loud out in enclosed area we had to basically yell at each other to carry on a conversation. After dinner arrived we dug in and really enjoyed our food. Mine was superb as was the Chicken Piccata. My wife liked her soup and salad but I thought the soup bowl was more like a cup. I ordered coffee and took forever to get it and to get refills. Our friend and I had to flag down passing staff several times to get more. Against my better judgement we decided to order dessert as I have always loved Toscanos desserts. I ordered Tiramisu and friend ordered the Bread Pudding. After another fifteen minutes or so dessert finally arrived. The Bread Pudding looked nice, but I was shocked by the Tiramisu. It basically looked like just a pile of whipped cream, with a half strawberry on top. On further inspection I scrapped the whipped cream aside to find a pathetic thin piece of cake. Almost as if it was run over by a semi truck. Very disappointing to say the least. Even our waitress agreed it was a sad looking Tiramisu. On top of all the disappointments was the slow service. Even after asking for the bill it took almost 20 minutes to get it back and pay so we could leave. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is the main courses were excellent. Below is an email that I sent to them after a disappointing experience for my sons 21st birthday, which never got a response. I wanted to give them a chance to reply privately because I love supporting local businesses and I know how a negative review publicly can't hurt, but after multiple times reaching out, not a single response and I will never patron this business again. I wanted absolutely nothing from them besides an apology and commitment to do better, so this is more than a failure in them in my eyes; it's a missed opportunity. I wanted to email you with some feedback about my visit last night and didn't want to post on Yelp since we are huge fans of your restaurant, and I don't want to impact your ratings negatively. I'll start by saying that our service was great, but that was about where the positive feedback ends unfortunately. We had a 6:30pm reservation for 9 people to celebrate my sons 21st birthday (noted in the reservation) and didn't get seated until 6:55pm and no one even mentioned his birthday until I said something over an hour into our meal. Service was extremely slow, which is somewhat expected with a party of our size, so not a huge deal, but we were definitely the last people out of the restaurant, and it felt a little rushed. Feedback on the food: - Our cups of French onion soup were basically all croutons. It tasted good, but we missed the soup, and it is one of our favorite items on your menu. -Almost all of our dishes came out cold. - Corn in the polenta was crunchy and weird in the dish. -Potatoes were unseasoned on the ribeye. -The creme brulee had no accompaniment (fruit/etc) like it usually does, and more surprisingly-my son's dessert wasn't comp'd. -We had a focaccia that never made it to the table, but we were still charged for it. The server removed it from the check, so that wasn't an issue. -My biggest complaint and I still can't believe it happened is that our chicken parmesan wasn't breaded. A chicken breast with sauce and cheese-no breading. Like how does that happen? I've had your chicken parm many times, so I know what it was supposed to be, and this was not it. It was also served with cavatappi which is such an odd pasta to serve chicken parm with, but maybe that's a personal preference. All in all, this was such an underwhelming experience for our group on a day that was such a huge celebration for our family. I know what your team is capable of, so we will certainly be back, but I will probably never come with a group in the future and hope that our experiences moving forward will outshine this last one so we can continue to be loyal customers. read more

The service has improved significantly over the past two years. I have been back twice within the last month with different people. The service was excellent and the food impeccable. The servings are as close to European fare that one can get. As always the ambiance is Euro Jazz focused and unexpected for its location but they make ample use of said location that it feels cozy and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of work life. I have had several dishes there and really no disappointment with anything. Their drinks are well made, the seafood is well seasoned and it's obvious that they are making everything there. For me that is a plus The cheesecake was particularly intriguing with a texture I have never had before in the US. I remember this type of cheesecake in Paris and Milan. Very enjoyable. There is a wait time for food to arrive so I suggest that if you have a party, you get drinks and an appetizer. For those complaining of the wait times, one should be reminded that this restaurant is following the European model, which consists of making everything in house. That takes a long time and in several restaurants in Seattle you will run into the same thing. Good food is hard to make and I really appreciate the time that they put into getting things right. They are 4.5 stars for me, which is pretty high considering I rate most restaurants a 3-4. But I would say that they are really etching up to a 5. One thing I'm impressed by is the lack of simple fried foods. That seems to be a go to at a lot of restaurants Bread it, fry it and serve it. Not here! We opted to sit outside but was told 'no' because it might rain and there was no space (I took a photo to show you the few clouds and only 2 tables of people). We asked if there was a wait and the hostess replied "no, but I still will not seat you out there; you're not able to sit there." We asked about inside seating and was met with a "I'm sorry, but there's nothing open." If this restaurant doesn't want our service there are many other places that we like and that have better reviews! Cute little Italian restaurant. The food was unique. I got the seafood pasta with big pasta noodles. I liked that it was different from any pasta I've really ever had. There was a good amount of shrimp and scallops in the pasta. The meal comes with complimentary bread and homemade marinara and pesto. Both very delicious! When I first moved to the area a few years ago we tried this place and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. The second time it was noticeably not as great as far as food quality. Last night? Never again are we setting foot in here. Reservation for 6 and greeter was very nice, but downhill from there. Server was on top of serving cocktails and back every 10 minutes pushing for more drinks...once we ordered the food I watched 4 other parties get seated..35 minutes later all four parties were about half done with their main course and we still had nothing but my watermelon panzanella salad that took 15 minutes upon ordering. Got the main courses and my partner was in the restroom twice to throw up her "fresh prawns". I know fresh vs previously frozen farm raised seafood...if you're gonna charge what they do, at least be honest on the menu. My pasta as well as two others in our party's was cold. We are in an Italian joint...one serving of bread..no refills..no offering of fresh grated parm cheese when served, no cracked black pepper..potions were noticeable less.
