    Buffalo-Honey Chick'n Pop
    Alicia G.

I tried this place for the first time with a friend and it was pretty good. I ordered the sweet chili chick n pop. My friend ordered the buffalo honey chick n pop and fries. You order at a kiosk and it was a short wait for the food. We went on a rainy night so it was empty. It's a cute restaurant but seating is limited. The food was 8/10 for me but I would eat there again.

I had a coworker that used to order from here all the time. The combo is $10 for drink, side, and slider. I ordered the wings - The fried wings were crunchy and decent! 6 wings for $9. I didn't find the fries special in particular. Next time I will try the sauces! They have kids combos too and a lot of menu options including popcorn chicken, tenders, wraps. We were the only patrons in the store at that time, so the food came out quick. It's a cute spot with quick service. I feel like the fried chicken market is getting a bit saturated but there are often so many different places to try from to experience them all.

I ordered Cheese Fries and received this..... fries with a slice of American cheese on top...... pathetic

First time trying Chicken sauces on the sandwich tasted like "lite" versions of whatever was described Cheese fries were garbage Only saving grace was the chicken sandwiches at weren't dry and the mango habanero mayo was decent

Quick and EZ chicken sandwich joint in Bayside. Good food and fast friendly service. One of the more affordable spots in the area.

The food was tasty but nothing out of the norm. There are so many of these quick chicken places popping up that to stand out is almost impossible. There was a steady stream of people coming in for munchie food and seemed to have been there before. The service was quick and helpful. The place is small but has a decent amount of seats and tables. I will say the price was a bit steep for a small box of chicken and fries.

Food was okay. We ordered the buffalo-honey chick'n pop along with the ludlow fries. The chicken was okay plain, but lacked a little bit of flavor. Sauce was definitely needed. The ludlow fries were okay, but I wish they were crispier. Given that to-go orders do take the "crispiness" away from fried items, it didn't take too long to get home and I feel like if they cooked them a minute longer. My main issue though is that there is different pricing on the their 375 website and the online order platform that they use (toast). Clearly on their website it states $10 and then you press the order now button and brings you to Toast, they show $11. Same with the fries.

3.5 but rounded up bc they're new and maybe still getting their act together! Came at 6pm on a weds and they were filling up fast. Wait times ended up being 20-30 minutes for those who ordered after me. Our food was ready in 15 min before the dinner rush. Service was fine. There's a kiosk you can order from if you don't want to order with the cashier. This was a faster option for me since I already knew what I wanted. Place is brand new so it's clean and relatively spacious with about 20 seats. The food: Classic chicken sandwich: 7/10. Chicken is crispy but a bit thin. It's fine for a fast food sandwich but I've had better in the neighborhood. Fries: 6/10 crinkle cut and lacks seasoning. They have a variety of sauces if you order the combo! Buffalo honey sandwich: 5/10 my husband ordered this and thought it was a bit too heavy. Maybe the hot Cheetos was too much? PB&J chick n pop: 6/10 little pieces of popcorn chicken with peanut butter and jelly glaze. Also comes with a PB sauce. The first couple pieces were good but it got soggy fast. This would be better as a dip. Also needs more of the jam element. Overall a decent spot for a chicken sandwich but not my go-to.

First off I want to clarify the food is 4.5/5 The chicken is crispy and fresh. The fries are fresh. The bun is soft and buttery. This place would get a 5 starts if it wasn't for two things Two slider with fries and drink is $17 plus change. That's over kill. Thats the price of a giant burger at a restaurant where you get a little more premium service with a waiter and ambience . This place is fast food! Secondly you get a meal with fries and they have like 15 different sauces but you have to pay 1.50 for sauce. Thats absurd. You got a meal with fries atleast include one sauce in there . All in all I will definitely go back but instead of coming get a couple times a month I'll come here maybe once's every 3 months purely based on the price My advice experiment coming down to 12 dollars to a meal. Throw in less fries . Maybe even make the chicken a little smaller

The food sounds better than it tastes and more expensive than it should be. Casual spot that could be mistaken for fast food bc of the decor, but the food isn't fast. Nice people with great service. Overall the chicken is not crispy and quit soft. This was fresh out of the kitchen. Think mall style orange chicken... you want it to be crispy...but it's just soggy and the sauce makes it softer. This was a miss for me Had the peanut butter and jelly chicken pops- just ok. Aside from the chicken texture, the peanut sauce tasted too close to plain pb without any enhancements like sesame oil. The jelly is not sweet and thats too bad bc it may have been nice. Also had the mango habanero curry chicken pops Ona cheddar waffle. The waffle is as soft as the chicken so its just a mushy mess. The sauce was surprisingly sweeter than expected. This was just ok too. The fries are wildy expensive for the size but have great texture and flavor. The truffle mayo and jalapeño ranch are quite impressive and delicious. For the price its hard to justify a return.

My family ordered takeout from this place. We got buffalo-honey popcorn chicken, sweet chili popcorn chicken, two hot chicken sandwiches, and Ludlow fries. The buffalo-honey and sweet chilli popcorn chicken tastes very similar. The only difference I could taste was that the sweet chilli was slightly sweeter. Both were flavorful, but not crispy. The chicken sandwiches were too spicy for my liking, but I have a low spice tolerance so it's probably fine for most people. It had a nice tang and flavor, but like the popcorn chicken, the chicken was unfortunately a little soggy. The Ludlow fries are fries topped with a delicious combination of sauces, scallions, fried onions, and jalapeno slices. It was delicious, but the fries were also soft..... Overall, the food was good. But it probably tastes better if you eat it fresh at the restaurant because our order seems to have lost its crispiness from sitting on the counter too long

Had some delicious chicken here recently. I tried the PB&J chicken waffle as well as the buffalo honey chick n pop. I thoroughly enjoyed both, especially the PB&J chick n waffle. The peanut sauce was very good, too. Wish they gave a little more food for the prices they charge. Lots of paid street parking outside. Nice & clean on the inside. They are halal, which is great. I recommend this spot.

This place rocks, I've been to the other location on ludlow in Manhattan and it was equally awesome except this one has seating. Food options are great and reasonable price considering inflation and the service was very quick. Inside is very clean and tidy so great for small crowds. Absolutely will come back. Food is amazing as always and now that it's right around the corner from where I live it's going to be a staple for me

A classic staple that you've probably heard about but never actually got the chance to try it…read more Chicken Lovers is always busy. It's a place that you definitely need to plan ahead just to place an order. But if you have the time and patience to wait, go for it! We walked in around 1:20pm and were quoted an hour long wait. It actually took around an hour & a half to get the food. They don't always pick up the phone or allow online ordering, so if you're in the area, walking in is probably the best bet. The lunch specials are sooo worth it. We got one of each, 1/2 chicken + 1/4 ribs, sides: rice, cucumber salad, mac & cheese, and corn. The amount of food they give you is insane. How is that 1/4 of ribs?! Both the chicken and ribs were tender, juicy, and just fell apart. The green sauce of course is perfection. It's zesty, spicy, and herby- the perfect pairing to the savory meats. Plan ahead if you want to eat here!

In the morning after stopping by the Resort World New York by car, CL seems to be within reach and we seized the opportunity! We arrived at 11:25 AM shortly after it opened. Only two people in front of us and we finished placing the order by 11:30 AM. We were told there would be a 1 to 1 1/2 hour wait before the order could be ready. So, we lounged at the nearby Starbucks for an hour before returning -- a highly recommended option! After 1.5 hours, I asked for my name. Nothing. 1 hour 45 min, nothing. 2 hours, nothing. We thought this was ridiculous and confronted the ordering counter. Alas, they realized our "receipt" was lost. They promised to fulfill it right away; however, the next batch of ribs wouldn't be for another 20 minutes! It's turned out to be a total nightmare - 2.5 hours of waiting, with the 104° record heat to boot. I was plotting to slaughter the review as I waited; fortunately, the guy at the ordering counter knew how to make it right by giving us additional portion of proteins. So was the food worth it? Not with that amount of waiting but it was good. The dark chicken meat was moist and tasty. Chicken breasts were customarily dry, but the magical green sauce more than compensated for the dryness. That green sauce made this whole meal stand out for sure. It had massive amount of cilantro and garlic as far as I could tell. I'd like to think of it as Asian pesto. Although it's a "chicken" joint, everyone in my party unanimously preferred the ribs - uniformly tender and easier to eat. Oh, remember to grab some plastic gloves on your way out!

Upon arrival, I genuinely thought the place was closed--everything looked grimy and unsanitary. The loaded fries were decent but noticeably small for the price, presentation was just OK . Since I love hot chicken, I wanted to try this local spot that advertises itself as Nashville style. I recently had Dave's Hot Chicken so that's my comparison. This business actually used the Dave's stock images on their Yelp photos, so it's clear they are trying to emulate them. The chicken tenders are lightly breaded white meat that is in between juicy and dry, actually a little juicier than Dave's. The breading is light and crunchy, but not very flavorful. They deliver on spice though! I ordered two sliders: one medium and one extra hot. I will say their spice levels are accurately named. The medium was just a hint of heat, while the extra hot made my head sweat. The person working there mentioned they couldn't do two different spice levels for an order of tenders+side, but only if I ordered sliders+side. Really not sure why they operate that way since the chicken would be prepared the same way. They did write the spice levels on the inside of the lid to distinguish between the two sliders. The fries were just average fries with a hint of Cajun seasoning sprinkled on. I thought the potato buns were the right choice due to the fluffiness, paired with the light crunch of the chicken with the pickles and house sauce, which was a low-heat spicy mayo rendition. Not very flavorful. The actual interior was not the cleanest and it didn't seem very well maintained. The tables were not wiped down and overall seemed a bit dingy.

One of the kitchen staff handed me the order, and I should have double checked it then, but I didn't think to since we were there as they opened (they must have gotten other orders already!). Upon arriving home, I realized they gave me the wrong order. We called them, and they has also realized the error and offered to remake the order. We headed back to pick up the correct order. They give a decent portion, and the spiciness is always on point. Be warned that the Hot is like pure spicy! What I ordered: -Blood Rice Cakes (Mild): good chewy texture. It's mild in flavor, so might be better with a Medium spicy. -Turnip Cakes (Medium): nice soft interior, and a crisp exterior. Good turnip flavor, that is not overpowered by the spicy. What was mistakenly given to me (eaten the next day - reheated): -Legend Pops (Medium?): Good ratio of breading to chicken. Best to reheat this by toaster oven to crisp up a little. The chicken held up well. -Sweet Potato Fries with Honey Mustard: Good soft texture and sweet potato flavor. I am happy that they have this location, since it is much easier to stop by, and there is seating if I choose to eat in.

Then for rosé flavor, which is literally just adding heavy cream to the sauce, is an extra $6. Then we ordered the 10 wing + 5 drumstick combo and we asked for half/half sauce assuming half of the 15 pieces are one sauce and the second half is another sauce. First off, they charge you $2 for sauce, which is fine but tell me why they charged us $2 FOUR times. So $8 total for sauce bc they separated the 10 wings into 5 and 5 and put one sauce each and they charged $2 each for that. And then they separated the 5 drumsticks into 3 and 2 and put one sauce each and charged $2 each for that. So total for 10 wings & 5 drumsticks was around $44. I've literally been to every korean fried chicken place on northern blvd and never have they separated the chicken like that and charged the sauces that way. Like why are you charging us for sauce 4 times when it is one single order of chicken. Never coming back here. Its a legit rip off. On top of that, they charge you for to-go containers, which is free at every restaurant. They just charge you exorbitant prices for literally every single thing here. I actually owned a chicken restaurant, so I'm very familiar with the difference between freshly fried chicken and refried chicken. The coating was hard and stuck tightly to the meat instead of separating easily, which is a common sign of refried chicken. Even worse, the meat inside was completely dry and tough--more like eating chicken jerky than freshly cooked chicken. It was so dry that I couldn't eat it, and I ended up throwing almost all of it away. When I called the restaurant, they insisted that the chicken was freshly fried. That's what upset me the most. If it had truly been freshly fried, the meat would not have been that dry and hard. I'm not just disappointed with the quality of the food--I'm disappointed that I don't feel I was given an honest answer. I understand mistakes happen, but honesty with customers is just as important as the food itself. Unfortunately, this experience has made me lose trust in this restaurant.
