Very generic cafe with your usual coffee and breakfast items! However, my friend suggested me their panini and I had to come and try! The store seems small but there is a sitting area towards the back which has a more spacious eat-in seating. The panini was great and crisp to the bread, sizzling hot insides and topped with some home fries were a great way to start my day off! Their coffee is just normal, nothing special. I'm a sophomore at Queens College and only recently tried the food here. Right off the bat, prices are quite high as its near a college. We all pay for the convenience. I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla and my friend ordered the steak quesadilla. For $8.15 you get two big pieces of quesadilla and chips w/ salsa & cream cheese. Which isn't bad at all, however I've definitely been to cheaper places that's actually authentic. But again I'm a starving college student that needs fuel so this'll do. The chicken quesadilla was amazing. The melted cheese was just right and everything else was cooked pretty well. The only thing I didn't like was how watery the quesadilla was. I'm not exactly sure what it was but liquid kept oozing out of my quesadilla, leading to a pretty messy meal. Other than that I definitely recommend this cafe! I wish they still had Guac though. I looked all over the menu and the Guac was no where to be found. Maybe I should just ask the next time I'm there. read more

Thank goodness for Tozt in the hood for my non-Chinese food option. I think they're doing well because it's near Queens College, and the selection and decor is kinda cafeteria-like. I dig! Nice to get away from the Chinkiness of Flushing sometimes. So they have this make-your-own salad and make-your-own pasta thing going on. I wouldn't say it's cheap, but customization is always a good thing. Every time I walk in, seeing all the various choices behind the counter just makes me wanna buy EVERYTHING. There's also sandwiches (especially panini), desserts, smoothies, and a load of beverages here. A little ice cream fridge, and chips rack. I think it literally has something for everybody. The tables/chairs are kinda communal. They need to keep it cleaner cuz when I went there when it wasn't busy, it was hard to find a non-wobbly and clean table. Most of the time when I'm there, the staff is friendly and all smiles. Can't complain there. And they do deliver around the hood. Must recommend* the Mexican Philly sandwich. This semester, I've been more and more disappointed by Tost Cafe. The food is pretty good (at least the paninis and cream-based soups are), but the ordering on the phone thing/delivery service is really not that great. Tost does "tosts" which are a variety of paninis. I have ordered a "tost" sandwich over the phone and not gotten a panini. Instead, I got a toasted sandwich on white bread. Not ok. Delivery can be fast, but there are many times when it takes 30-40 minutes to get there, and there are times I've ordered with at least 30/40 minutes and asked for it to reach by 6:20 and it's arrived at 6:35. When you have a 6:30 class, that's not ok. Additionally, at least one of the delivery guys refuses to call me from his own cell phone. Instead, he has given my phone number to (1) students waiting in the lobby of a building and (2) the bank in the student union. These people have called me to tell me my food has arrived. I ordered due to them delivering and being close to me. Food arrived in 20 minutes after I placed my order...hot and fresh.and I ordered 4 meals...I was impressed with the speed of delivery. Now the food....... Dont feel like writing a story for each meal but I asked my kids and wife to rate each of their meals. Both my kids rated their panini sandwiches 4.5/5 for taste. ..I said it was a 4/5 for my panini...wife said 3.5/5 for her salad due to it not having much lettuce.. I hadn't been here in awhile, but found myself near this part of Kissena so I stopped in for a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. Mmmm Mmmm good. Nice Kaiser roll, eggs cooked nicely with American cheese. Classic perfection. This place is extremely well kept, and they also have a wide variety of items to choose from -- ranging from burgers, quesadillas to pasta. Customer service was great. I am always leery about trying pasta dishes at places that aren't Italian food focused (i.e., pizzerias, Italian restaurants or Italian deli/grocery), but I will definitely give it a try. Love quesadillas too so will give them a whirl. Only thing I noticed is the dessert/pastry section has grown smaller than years past (it's probably been two years since I've been here). I used to get a cheese croissant danish that was really good, but all the croissants seem to be gone (just some brownies and cake-like items). I spent a few days at Queens College for work and I stopped at Tozt every day I was there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very clean on the inside and everything on display looked delicious. Throughout the week I ordered a few wraps as well as a panini. The chicken Cesar wrap quickly became my favorite. I order that almost every afternoon. On the last day in Queens I ordered the chicken, mozzarella, and marinara sauce panini. It was outstanding. I highly recommend Tozt. I absolutely love this place! It is just down the block from Queens College, so I often come here for breakfast with friends. When it comes to breakfast, these prices can't be beat for the quality food you are getting. The french toast and pancakes are great and they make them right in front of you. The pancakes are fluffy and the french toast is sweet, but not too sweet. I've also tried the bacon as a side, and it is very crunchy and cooked just right. An order of 3 pancakes or 4-6 (depending on their mood) slices of french toast only costs $3.50. Their coffee is also delicious, so if you are sick of getting coffee from the Dunkin Donuts at the corner everyday, I'd suggest trying this to change things up. They also serve sandwiches, salads, and daily entrees. They make everything right in front of you, just as you order it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

I'm not a regular @ tost but I think, they're doing ok so far. It's not my number one spot, but if i need to pick up something quick and easy to satisfy the hunger, tost will do. I haven't really eaten much from here, but I have gotten a egg white cheese sandwich on whole wheat and its not bad. I mean, come on' what can go wrong with a egg & cheese sandwich? My favorite and probably the main reason why I come here, is for their toss salads. I love how I can mix and match different kinds of ingredients and have them tossed. Best of all, tost chops salads! I love mine tossed and chopped! So far, its always fresh. Ahh, Tost Cafe. The haven for many Queens College students who are sick and tired of Chartwells options (You heard me, Dining Hall!) and want a nice, healthy option. They're my morning stop for egg sandwiches and a vitamin water since they're pretty quick. They have a great menu and, for the most part, the staff is relatively friendly. They've got low calorie options, vegetarian options, and pretty much anything your hungry little stomach could desire. Pasta, paninis, sandwiches, quesadillas... They get an A for a good menu. However, they are kind of overpriced. It's hard not to take advantage of overpricing the customers when you are open next to a commuter college with students just begging to be overcharged for a decent meal. Also, I've had some trouble with being shortchanged--only by a small amount, but it's kind of careless. Also, I've been charged twice when using a credit card (this has occurred more than once). Tost is probably one of my most frequent stops, maybe not always my favorite, but I do have a soft spot for the place. Plus, their Philly Cheese Steaks aren't a total train wreck. read more

So my friends invited me to lunch and I was a bit iffy about going here at first, because the outside of it doesnt look that appealing. When we entered inside though it was pretty clean. I decided to get a veggie quesadilla and a strawberry banana smoothie. They also gave nachos with salsa sauce on the side...oh yea and a tiny plastic container of sour cream. The serving size was good. Everything tasted good. They also have bakery items, parfait, fruit, and a variety of drinks..not "turn up" drinks..but a variety of different beverages. I'm a 2L at CUNY Law School. There aren't any decent restaurants in the vicinity of CUNY. Across the street from the school is a Jewish cemetery (Fortunately, the campus is moving to Long Island City next year). Many of the CUNY students order lunch from Tost. I have no complaints about the quality of the food. They give you a lot of meat in their ham and cheese sandwich. However, it costs $5 plus tax. Even with the extra meat, the sandwich is tiny, basically a little bigger than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The fish sandwich isn't that great. It's $3.95 plus tax (an extra 50 cents for cheese). I've noticed that when you order the fish sandwich at the store, it is much smaller than when they deliver it to you. The taste is a little bland. The chicken parmesan sandwich is good, but could use more marinara sauce. It's $6.29 plus tax. The sandwich is fairly large, but not large enough to justify its price. Tost also makes burgers, fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and salads, but I've never tried those. Tost makes a homemade lemonade that tastes horrible. I've never tried their coffee or chocolate milk. If you don't like their homemade beverages, you can order a Snapple. Tost has a propensity for screwing up orders or not giving you the correct change. They also charge a delivery fee (called a "packing fee"). If there were better (and cheaper) options near CUNY then I wouldn't order from Tost. read more

They're getting 2 stars because the delivery was quick and their online ordering was easy. As for the food, it wasn't good and it was quite pricey. Their chicken Cesar wrap was extremely odd. It came with red/orange sauce? The last time I checked, Cesar sauce was white/ ivory colored with a parmasean taste. This sauce was nothing Iike Cesar dressing. I work at QC and it's very convenient. I also live in Flushing and their online menu and delivery can't be beat. They usually arrive at the time stated. The smoothies are a winner. Their burgers and fries are good. The Mex menu is tasty. The salad bar is absolutely great for a place in Queens. (usually Manhattan has all the salad bars at $99/lb--no that's no typo) The panini sandwiches are delish! My fav is Cuban. Can't beat this for the prices offered. My go-to place for lunch and dinner when I was in Queens College. The quesadillas and burritos are super filling and delicious, plus they all come with a side of nachos and salsa. Make sure to get a house lemonade to balance out all the salt. My brother also introduced me to the platters; Cajun chicken, yellow rice, and beans are too good of a combination to describe in just words. I don't know why there are negative complaints here. These people writing the reviews are either really picky or just flat out annoying! I haven't had a bad experience here at all! Delivery is either earlier than it's supposed to be or right on time. It's a great lunch option for me and it always satisfies my appetite! Love their sandwiches and fries. They always call if something is unavailable and work best with you on what to get when you order through Grubhub for delivery, even though I believe that's what they do in general for everyone however you order (in store, take out, delivery).
