A pretty good place to go to for Mexican food. Quesadillas, enchiladas, and fajitas are all solid and flavors are what you'd expect them to be. I am a big fan of their rice and green salsa. I was on the hunt for enchiladas Michoacanas and this hit close enough to home for me (I know the restaurant is from Monterrey, NL, but hey, gotta work with what's available). Starting off with the chips and salsa, the salsa was so good, flavorful and had a great spice kick. Really enjoyed them as we waited for our meal. Service was friendly, attentive and we even had a show as we waited! We stopped by on a weekday afternoon and a guy was there singing and playing music, and did it well, it was very entertaining. The enchiladas were very filling, though I wish they had also had a kick or that there were the option for spicy enchiladas. Please add spicy enchiladas as an option! I ended up asking for crema to add on them and it was the perfect meal. Together with the potatoes, I was more filled than I expected, I could barely eat the flautas as well. I did manage to have one and as with the enchiladas, I wish the avocado sauce had spice but they were still good. This satisfied my craving and it felt close enough to the enchiladas I had when I would visit Michoacán. The Tostada Mexicana is ourstanding and even though the menu is varied I always order it and it is always excellent!

Dined in for breakfast over the weekend, was not too busy. I ordered the huevos revueltos, although it was not busy it took awhile for our orders to come out. The food was fresh and perfectly plated, great portion sizes too! I will say they can improve with service, the waitress didn't let us know the different types of coffees when ordering but they were nice enough to take care of it. We ordered the regular coffee originally, but the cafe de olla is SOOO good you do not want to pass it up! Cafe de olla is roasted coffee with cinnamon that is sweet enough you don't need to add creamer or coffee. I'll be sure to return. Their restroom stalls need fixing, it was hard to get out so use the second, large stall instead ladies. read more

I have been going to Tostada Regia--Westheimer for years. The food is always good, and so is the service, but this Sunday, we had a horrible experience. As we started our breakfast, my wife found a long white hair, which wasn't hers, she is blonde. We called over the waitress and showed her the long white hair, she went over to the manager, who was sitting in the bar eating. She turned to see us, but did not move an inch and continued to feed her face! We waited about 15 minutes, but she never came. I asked for the bill and asked her why she didn't come to our table, and she said," I am eating my breakfast." My wife got pissed off and told her thats is very unprofessional of her, she should have come over immedialdy and apologzed. She asked my wife if she still had the hair, and she told her, but the waitress saw it. She then asked the waitress where the hair was, and she told her she threw it away. My wife pointed out the cook has white hair without a hair net, and she pointed that out to her. We paid our bill and left. The manager was very unprofessional and disrespectful to my wife, and we will NEVER go back again. I will post my experience everywhere I can to warn customers of this lazy, unprofessional so called manager. We are both business professionals and know the first rule of customer service is to apologize and make it right, and she did neither. read more

Had lunch here today for the first time. I ordered the Pirate Gigante Burrito which came with beef and onions inside, fresh avocado slices and a side of fresh pico and two different salsas. I have always preferred the green. The burrito was so big I had to get a Togo box so it was definitely shareable. Originally I was going to order just the burrito but our waitress suggested the Pirates so I went with that and wasn't disappointed. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant! Super authentic from the minute you walk in, and the entire staff speaks to you in Spanish. Luckily I'm conversational in the language, so I loved being able to practice! Very friendly service and delicious food. The prices were great too - my meal was under $10. The chips and salsa that was provided was SO addicting (I couldn't stop eating that delicious salsa! It's different from Tex-Amex salsas in that it's smoother, and has more spicy carrot-y taste? Not sure, but it was great). I ordered the Enchiladas Norteñas, and it reminded me of the Enchiladas I had in Mexico this past summer. I recommend this dish, especially if you're vegetarian! The tortillas were thick and soft, the queso fresco fresh. It came with a yummy spicy pepper, papas, and a salad. I asked for some extra salsa verde and a salsa roja to eat with the enchiladas and papas to give it some spice. I also stole my friend's limes ;) My friend ordered the Caldo de Pollo, and was surprised to see that they put a whole chicken breast in the broth! I challenge anyone that knows anything authentic about Mexican food to go and try out the Chicken Mole Enchiladas or the store shelf margarita mixer. I paid $7.99 for the enchiladas so i guess i get what i pay for, but Margarita cost more than my food and it didnt even have tequila in it. im sorry but i do not recommend this place. Good service and clean. That's about all this place has going for it. My family ordered menudo, the picadillo, and tacos de bistec. The taco meat wasn't very good, not chewy but didn't have great flavor and the salsa that came with it tasted terrible. My wife said the picadillo tasted like burnt rubber. I'll give them credit that my kids still ate it and they are picky eaters. The menudo was ok at best. The tripe was chewy and low quality, not to mention half my soup was 2 giant pieces of cartilage. Broth was ok but a little thick for my taste. My wife also had horchata which she liked but I thought it had too much cinnamon. All in all not a bad place if you have a bad hangover. Ok, but can I say that I hate wake up early? Unless we're going to breakfast at Tostada Regia! LOL. It's so good. I'll start with the facility. The place is a newer building and it is so clean and modern. I've been several times and they never let dishes sit on tables and the floor is always swept. Their bathrooms are always clean and well stocked even when the restaurant is packed. The food is so good. No matter what you order it's always fresh and well served. My favorite is the breakfast. The chilaquiles are delicious and I usually ask for a side of bacon. YUM. The coffee is always good and they keep it filled for you. The service is amazing. Even when we went as a large party, our waiter was always attentive and helpful. If you are looking for a good meal and good service at a low price, go check this place out. read more

First off I want to say I have been coming here for a couple years now, and live their queso. So it kills me to have to write this and never return here to eat. This place is taking advantage of people during Covid-19. I have come across one "scam" being perpetrated through Uber eats. If you order their $4.55, 6oz chili con queso from Uber eats, be forewarned that it does not come with chips to actually eat it with. Those you have to pay an extra $2.50 or be prepared to drink your queso. I called and spoke to the manager, and all he had to say was, "we only give free chips with queso if you're dining in." (Which is BS because before Covid, I used to order queso to go, and get a whole bag of chips.) So something they normally give away for free, they charge $3 for if you order through Uber eats. The $5 6oz queso, becomes $8. The manager was unapologetic and could care less about scamming his customers during this pandemic. I've had some of the best and saddest moments of my life here at this joint (sad after Rayados lost to Tigres). Place -10 - Impeccable, clean, wait staff and ambiance gives a feel up upscale meets Monterrey. If you are from MTY you should come take a look if not for the food then for the Pictures on the wall. Nice chandelier. Food - 10 - Can't go wrong with anything. My go to is the tacos de bistek con cebolla asada, cilantro , queso asadero, and avocado (show this to your waiter tell them it's what you want and thank me later). Chips are always warm and fresh and served upon arrival. Service - 10 - Very courteous and knowledgeable staff no complains here. Overly willing to take care of customers, maybe I come a lot but sure feels like I'm a VIP. Every know and then the manager makes his rounds and makes sure everyone's good. Drinks -6- don't come with a plan to get wavy, it's gone take a lot here lol. Bottom line the drinks are light, I suggest unless u drinking beer just order by the shot or wait. Last time I checked they do have BYOB. Overall, this place is amazing I go at least twice a week and if you go on saturdays they turn up and do karaoke if that's your thing.
