I shouldve known something wasn't right when i didnt smell the aroma of the food upon opening the door! I ordered the beef fajita quesadilla and it came with a qaucamole salad and some beans to my liking!How did it taste you ask????The meat had nerves all through it,Which made it impossible to enjoy.The qaucamole had no taste and to top it all off.....I had to dump all kinds of salsa on the expensive plate of food,Which was by the way $9.50.The cashier gave me a cup not sure if it came with the meal or not and told me to make myself a drink.I was thirsty after consuming such tough meat! If you are looking for heavy greasy and fry Tex-Mex food this is not the place. The family own small mom and pop store is hidden in the corner of little shopping center. The kitchen usually is run two to three people and the speed of service is not fast like McDonald but the food is amazing. The beef fajita is flavourite just right, the rice and beans were not too salty at all. I am used to the greasy and full of salt Tex-Mex here in Texas. This is really a nice change of the pace. It almost got the home made cooking feel to it , it almost like the meals my Latin American friends make at their home. The taste is hard to describe but definitely different. The ambient is a counter service, the menu is posted on the wall above the register, you ordered the food then they call you when it is ready. Their breakfast tacos are amazing, there are plenty of rooms to sit and take a break from your daily routine. The people there are always nice and the food are fresh and delicious. read more

I appreciate that the rice was well seasoned but not too oily and overcooked. I really like the broth soup that accompanies the dish and the tostada was perfect!! This place has become sort of my morning go-to taco spot. I can call my order in down the street and about time I get there it's already ready which I like. I've tried a variety of their breakfast tacos and the fajita is my favorite one so far, followed by the potato and egg. They have a small open salsa bar( think taco cabana but on a much smaller scale) that's self-serving and have a decent variety of salsa to choose from plus pico de gallo. Service is always great here. I'm not only greeted by the cashier but by everyone behind the counter. Service like that is always a plus in my book. Only downfall for me is that sometime the flour tortillas can have hard edges. I usually just rip the hard edge off and continue grubbing. Lol read more

This location is the only one around in Houston, Very clean and organized, myself coming from the restaurant industry staff well educated on the menu and very hospitable. The food is from Monterey Mexico not your traditional Texan Mexican or Tex mex food. Authentic to the fresh waters to the salsas they prep fresh every day. Today I had the enchiladas very delicious and after I ate honestly did not feel the bloated feeling after eating a good Mexican dish. This is my favorite lunch destination. The food is always freshly cooked and has a fresh taste... so different from tex-mex cuisine. I usually rotate between the Taco's Maderos Special, the Chicken Enchilada Combo or the Tostada Maderos Special Combo with a horchata or jamaica to drink. The tostada has a ton of chicken so it's like having 2 tostados really. Occasionally I will order one of the large soups. The menudo, pozole, and tlapeño have all been very good and come with a portion of rice and tortillas. The salsas are also very flavorful. The roasted one is mild but the green one is pretty spicy but delicious. I also very much appreciate the people who work there. They are always very friendly and hospitable which is a big reason why I love coming here during lunch. Went here with a friend on her late lunch break, so we missed the rush. YAY! Even though it has things written in Spanish and the tv on Spanish networks the staff there speaks english and there is no language barrier at all. They are also super sweet and nice, they asked us more than once if we were enjoying our meal and if we needed anything. My friend got one barbacoa taco and one chicken. She states that the tacos were great! But too big! She said it was a lot of food! So order more than one taco if you're starving. I got one of the werko pack tacos. They were great! I would ask for light Sour cream and Avocado because it makes your food cold and can take over the flavors, but it was still good. The rice could have more flavor but I ate it all so :p They also have a bunch of different SPICY sauces so be careful. I loved it, will be back when in the area! They take card but I think there is a 5 dollar min. Also they close early like around 6 so make sure you are aware of the time! read more

Finally, after driving by this place, I decided to try this place last night. I was craving tacos al pastor, which they did not have, but they had so many other good choices! We got the fajita quesadilla, barbacoa tacos, chorizo and egg tacos, and a tacos maderos special. It was the best AUTHENTIC mexican food I have had! Oh and their horchata is the best I've ever tasted. Even better than the one IN Mexico. I fully recomend it! The prices were reasonable, as we paid about $22 for all that plus 2 drinks and it was pretty quick! The place looks really clean and the workers are very nice and welcoming. After all the rave and good reviews I decided to give it a try. Extremely disappointed with the thick hard tortillas and bland tacos. They could def use some seasoning. The chorizo and egg I ordered had next to zero chorizo so it was not flavorful at all. I'll give lunch a try and see if it's any better. Mexico has found its version of Taco Bell. It's a lil more costly but you know you getting pretty good value. Real crunchy tortillas with excellent meat choices (I went with the special which is white chicken). We moved to the area about 6 months ago and tried about 5 different places for breakfast tacos...needless to say that no one compared because they did not have homemade tortillas!
