We had just received a shocking high repair estimate at another facility and happened to see a news segment about Ask Patty Certified shops, and so we found Jim - along with a strong recommendation from a woman we know. Many years later, we are loyal customers. The fact is, we can all be taken by a mechanic. How do we really know? Ask Patty is another layer of consumer protection. I have never experienced any of the shenanigans I have endured at so many other car places. Sure, Jim will tell you he can repair all that minor stuff like bulbs and air filters that anyone can easily do themselves, but what I rely on him for are the major repairs, not just maintenance. If my wife happens to be the one taking the car in, she has Jim do that minor stuff. Jim founded his shop after many years in the business, thus establishing his credibility. He is a straight shooter and will tell you what needs to be done and not done. He is no pressure to do repairs. I have never had an issue with a repair that required me to come back, it failed early, or I had to make a warranty claim on his shop's work. He has a coupon sheet that we have always used to keep our three cars going. He referred us to an inexpensive auto body dude who does repairs from his garage. Jim also has the free loaner vehicles. For quick stuff I connect to his WiFi and work there, chatting with him about all sorts of stuff. He has good coffee. He has an annual car show thing. I highly recommend Jim for a long term car mechanic relationship.

During our convo, I caught him in a lie about it. When I questioned him, he told me I "misunderstood". I explained it was not a "misunderstanding", I was meant to here that. I said how trust was gone and I thought he was a shitty salesman and how he should be ashamed of himself. He became defensive and argumentative. He did not really explain anything and if I asked a question he made me feel stupid for asking it. I felt like I was falling into a scam and honestly should have walked. I ended up cancelling the easy care after the guy tried to talk me into it by saying he's been in the car industry for longer than I've been alive. Nice work ass hole you're really moving up in the world. The most recent update is there ended up being curb rash on three of the tires that I'm fairly certain they covered up initially or regardless didn't mention anything about it. I hate that this is still the car buying experience for consumers. I would just be weary and firm with them. I love my car and had a good experience with the salesman but they need to reevaluate the boomer finance guy.
