The HEAR Center knew exactly what to do and got me an appointment immediately. I saw Dr. Arroyo and she is fantastic. She was attentive to my needs and understood my concerns. She provided me with options for hearing devices and listened to what my preferences are. She recommended the perfect ones. Upon receiving my hearing devices, she saw me frequently after the delivery to adjust the devices. She made sure I was comfortable with my aids and informed me to call her anytime I needed help with them. She answered all my concerns and questions. Dr. Arroyo is a great audiologist, personable and also very professional. I highly recommend her and this office.

Gave them a chance because insurance covered it and they were open after work. After 2 sessions with our therapist Evelyn, he went from 0 to 100. His word bank and pronunciation grew so fast after a few months. Sadly COVID stopped in person sessions and we continued with online sessions. Evelyn was super friendly, patient, and always catered his sessions to the things he liked (cars and puzzles). I am so happy we had her. People told me it would not help but I am glad we did it. Very disappointing and unprofessional scheduling experience…read more I initially scheduled an initial evaluation along with a follow-up appointment. When I later realized I couldn't make the initial evaluation, I was told I had to cancel both appointments, which I understood. I then called and rescheduled a new initial evaluation. However, when I arrived at the clinic, I was told that their staff had scheduled it incorrectly as a follow-up appointment, so they could not see me. Now, because of their scheduling mistake, the next available initial evaluation is another month away. What made the experience especially frustrating was the attitude at the front desk. Instead of acknowledging or apologizing for the fact that my appointment had been booked under the wrong type, the staff member repeatedly emphasized that she had called me to notify me. That completely misses the point--the appointment was scheduled incorrectly in the first place, and I had already made the trip to the clinic. Mistakes happen, but I would expect a healthcare office to take responsibility for a scheduling error that results in a patient having to wait an additional month for care. A simple apology and an effort to help resolve the situation would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, I experienced neither.

When he first attended he was 3yo and nonverbal, showing capacity for speech but not yet using any words. Prior to Teresa we had two other SLPs and the fit and match was never quite right (either with my son nor us as parents). Teresa has been phenomenal from the start - patient, calm, warm, engaging, and incredibly apt in her assessment and interventions with my son. He graduated from speech two months ago and the relationship he built with Teresa is so clear from his fondness of her. He has made tremendous progress, which is evident from going from nonverbal and using sounds to communicate to sentences, correct pronunciation, context, and ongoing conversation. Teresa is knowledgeable, sharp, and creative in the methods she utilizes to engage with my son. Additionally, Rosa (office staff extraordinaire) is so easy to work with and communicative. We have never had issues with scheduling, cancellations, and each visit she is so friendly that my son was disappointed if she wasn't there during a visit. All the staff are generally extremely friendly as we've had some one-off sessions with other providers over the years due to availability. For a very very brief period of time my son also had OT services but the OT therapist left the clinic and they have since stopped taking my insurance for OT. While we are extremely grateful and thankful that my son no longer meets criteria for speech services, we are sad and definitely miss the visits and relationship with Teresa and everyone at SGV speech. When we first started here, my son was speech delayed and no one understood the few words he did say. Mrs. Teresa was able to target his problem areas and gave my son the tools he needed to communicate clearly and effectively. Mrs. Teresa is kind, gentle, patient, stern when needed, and truly invested in my son's growth and progress. They worked hard together during sessions, and she always rewarded my son with play time at the end which he appreciated. She always pushed and challenged him -- every session the improvement was undeniable. My son is a better speaker, a more confident communicator, and is able to focus and apply himself so much more now. I have a daughter at a different clinic who has now seen several different therapists, and I truly don't think with them all combined they could do what Mrs. Teresa does. She is an expert in the field and my son and I were truly blessed to work with her! Shout out to Miss Rosa who runs a tight ship! She truly keeps everything running smoothly, handles everything from scheduling to billing to whatever else falls on her lap, and she always does it with a welcoming and warm smile. She answered all of our questions, which were A LOT! Her confidence and bubbly personality helped us (parents) be calm and trust her experience in the field. The day of the surgery couldn't have gone better. They are very punctual, which is appreciated. They gave her a bear as soon as we arrived. It was her emotional support bear that we were able to take home. They have a group called Child Life Team and they help the little ones cope with their medical experiences. For example, they give my daughter an oxygen mask and applied a chapstick smell she liked. This was to reduce stress when the actual mask would come on. And, they have music therapy! This helped sooo much to distract her and have fun. This was a great way to distract her into taking her calming medicine. Once she left the room, we waited in the lobby and you get a patient id so you can monitor in what stage of the process they are (ex: OR, Recovery, etc). Don't look elsewhere, this is the best place you can take your kiddos for the services they provide.

It took me about 2 months to be seen by the doctor...they wanted to schedule my initial appointment with a PA, which is very skeptical. When I finally saw the doctor, he literally saw me for 5 minutes. I'd like to note that his bedside manners weren't the best. My knee pain might not be life threatening, but it's debilitating and I felt the doctor brushed it off. It has been more than a month of my MRI and no one has called me back after calling 3 times. I left a voice message for the assistant and never got a call back. So I finally just got another referral to see an orthopedist. I got to see my new ortho doctor within a few weeks, got my MRI report read, and have gotten a referral for PT all within a month. SOOOO horrible!!
