Were living in a good time where we can walk into a wellness clinic and get hormones to improve our well being instead of just getting old and sick. I came in, got my blood work and found my hormones (T) was on the low end. Insurance agreed and covered it so its good. The staff is friendly and it feels homier than my main care provider. I would never go back here. It was supposed to be a routine physical. They kept screwing up my bloodwork. 1st time they booked the appointment too late in the day so I had to come back. 2nd time the nurse couldn't find the vein, so they told me I had to go to Quest Diagnostic (Quest was excellent by the way). When I went back the 3rd time to review the results they said they forgot to order some of the tests, so I had to go back a 4th time to have blood drawn again. This is all supposed to be 100% covered as part of my annual physical, which they never did, but now they are billing me $3 (are you serious?) for the 4th visit and I'm getting a bill from Quest because Total Men's submitted the wrong codes to the insurance company. I visited the Total Men's Primary Care on Slaughter in Circle C. Unfortunately, since they don't have a Yelp page, I'm posting this here. The doctor and medical assistant were great, but that was the only good part of this visit. Billing staff lacks core competences necessary to actually handle medical billing and insurance. They very boldly actually asked me to commit insurance fraud because they made a mistake. I declined, and now no one will call me back. They've screwed up my prescriptions, but I can't get ANYONE to return my call. I would not, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, recommend any facility in this chain to anyone. Went for a COVID test. I didn't have too long a wait time, to my luck. The technician who administered my test was very calming and reassuring. She made sure I was comfortable before and after I was tested. The office itself was very neat and inviting. The lounge was comfortable. I'll definitely recommend this location and I hope for a reason to return myself aside from Covid-19 :D read more

Review of Practices, Not Care Given: They might have fine doctors, but they split the initial visit into two separate visits: "physical" and then, on a different day, "everything else." Insurance pays for 1 free visit a year. This is a sneaky way to literally get double the income for the same services. So instead of one visit, we now pay $149 for my husband to go back a second time and get his referrals. Normal ones, like for a colonoscopy because he is over a certain age. Nothing fancy. They do not explain this two-step process up front, and there is no way to turn back now. We feel duped. Don't make the mistake we did. Or, at least, be forewarned that this is the system. read more

The office staff here are beyond incompetent, incredibly rude and need to be terminated. They turned away an extremely sick patient for failing to provide the front and back of a digital ID card. The ID card had all of the information needed to process a claim. Yet the uneducated office staff were unaware of how to handle the situation and refused care to a sick patient. This is absolutely unacceptable and I intend on filing a complaint with the Texas medical Authority regarding this unacceptable malpractice. read more

I wish I could give better reviews....i think my physician is amazing but when it comes to behavioral health, it's just not comparable. Each time I scheduled a session I was paired with a different provider. When I sought help to get a reasonable accommodation request, the provider hurt my chances for getting the request accepted...when I tried to get the request appealed, I was informed that "she" was no longer with Total Men's. This caused me to have to restart all over. Not a pleasant experience and one I wish on others. When I seek processional care i expect to assigned to the same provider but with "Total Men's" it feels like a drive thru: first come first serve. read more

I needed to get tested for Covid for work. Could not find anyplace with openings. I came across Total Men's in Prosper. I made an appointment only to find my insurance was not accepted even though it was listed on website. OK, I paid the $199. I was treated rudely while there. The two receptionist didn't seem to care about their jobs. When I went back to be tested, it was one of the receptionist that administered the test. I had been tested before so knew the procedure. She pulled out a q-tip, not one of the long slender ones you typically see. All she did was swab the inside of my nose. Not all the way to the back. Later received my result as negative. Not satisfied I later made it to Carenow where I was given an exam and retested. Positive. So please don't waste your time here. read more

I met Dr. Catherine Lewis several years ago as a very sick walk in to a clinic she was working at. I had been having serious respiratory issues for months and I wasn't getting better from the numerous visits to other Dr.'s. After a half a dozen or more visits to various physicians, clinics, countless medications and no relief. Dr. Catherine was the only Dr. that suggested/took a chest Xray. Low and behold I had a form of pneumonia that had slipped by everyone but Dr. Lewis. We were both relieved and suspected that it was something worse.She gave me some meds and within a matter of days and weeks, after having suffered for almost a year, I was way better and on the way to a 100% recovery. I received allergy testing from Total Men's Arbor Trails location. They prescribed two ointments to be applied topically. About a week later, I came in to pick up the medication. At that time, they also scheduled me to come back for a refill in four weeks. Four weeks later, I showed up for my appointment on time and waited 30 minutes to be seen... just to be told that the medication was not delivered to their location. They scheduled me to come back the following week. Once again, I waited for 30 minutes just to be told that they had not received my medication. They also said that they would call me when they received it. They took 3-4 weeks to contact me and reschedule my appointment. (I honestly thought that they had forgotten about me). Today, I showed up for my appointment (on time) and was told... for the THIRD TIME that my medication had not been delivered. Three strikes and you're OUT, Total Men's! I am now looking for another healthcare provider. One who values their patients' time and health. Attn: Yelp! The clinic may claim that they called me this morning before my appointment to reschedule. My appointment was at 8:30am. The fact is, they called me at 8:25am as I was parking my car outside of the clinic. Who does that? That said - here goes: I went to Total Mens for a standard physical and STD check. I was told the amount would be $199 in total. After arriving I was immediatly greeeted by a an assortment of - seeminly unhappy & disinterested customer representatives. After filling out the paperwork in an admittedly nice waiting room, i was asked to follow one of the reps to a "doctors room"... in which I would subsequently wait for over an hour and a half for the lead "parctitioner" to arrive. After entering the room - and apologizing profusely for the absurd wait - the Nurse (never did I see an actual Doctor - and would later learn they don't employ actual Doctors) quickly put a stethescope to my chest looked in my ears and I was off. Another "practitioner" pulled my blood and that was it - I was quickly scurried to the front counter. Now, I had continually declined the obvious upsell to test my blood panels for an additonal $50, but upon checkout I noticed the additonal $50 was on the bill - and rather than argue and incur another 1 hour delay - I paid the $50 and left shaking my head.... certainly without the intention of escalating the issue. "An extra $50 to get out of there and be done with Total Mens foreer is a deal" I remember thinking. How wrong I was... In the next days I was patiently looking for my physical results - but they never showed until I finally called and asked them when they would be uploaded to the Patient Portal. Again - i was greeted with a general disdain, and felt almost as if i was being argued with (I would later learn just how unhappy their staff truly is form the 1 Star rating on Glassdoor here: https://www.glassdoor.com/Overview/Working-at-Total-Men-s-Primary-Care-EI_IE2149361.11,35.htm) However, i remained calm in an effort to simply get the information back from my phsical (which - for personal reasons was very important). Flash forward a few days and still no results, and again, I'm forced to take time from my busy day to hold Total Mens & their apathetic staff accountable - ultimately coming to the realization that my Provider had simply forgotten to upload my information. At that point I had wiped my experience with Total Mens Primary Care clean and was happy to be done with the company, again. But not 3 days later, Total Mens decided to add a bit of insult to injury when I received another bill for $50! Now - when I called back to explain the clear error to their director, Sean Armstrong, i was abruptly told that "he would need to look into it"... and rather than deal with Total Mens any longer - I proposed that he simply refund the $50 I overpaid, and remove thh $50 "owed." Clean, easy...done. However - he flatly refused and insisted that the fee for an STD check is $299 which would justify the full cost. Now, In my experience, forgiving an erroneous $100 charge to keep a customer (and my reputation) happy would be an easy decision, but as it sits, I'm currently writing a check to a company that has extended perhaps - one of the least pleasant overall experiences I've had. read more

I visited this clinic for a rapid covid test. The process was seamless, the space is very comfortable and clean, they even offer La Croix :). The staff was also kind, efficient and informative. There was something odd going on with my test results. The nurse called me to explain what was going on giving her recommendations, suggesting I return. I appreciate the reassurance of knowing they were not simply herding tests and results out, they took care in what was happening. I will definitely return. read more

I have visited this location a few times and most of the staff is friendly. Availability is open and there is not long waiting periods. I also appreciate the text to main office feature. As it allows clients to easily contact them. However.... I had to remind them several times to update me with my labs/ results and to request several times to send in my prescriptions in to my pharmacy. I also had contact the doctors from the "portal" system they have and get no responses. I was hoping to find a local general practice without having to go to a busy doctors office. Which seeing the great reviews with a few mixtures of negative. I was pleased with my first visit. However the consistent lack of communication and follow through is a little frustrating. read more

Just got my very first Covid test. Didn't have an appointment, but the wait wasn't long and i was in and out. Also appreciated all of their Covid protocol such as filling out new patient paperwork via your phone and uploading pictures of your id/ license. Got my results back so quickly. It was super easy setting up an initial appointment; but the actual appointment was a cluster. It seemed as if no one was communicating with anyone else; no one knew why I was there (despite it clearly being the "reason for visit" selection and having the conversation with 3+ separate people), and no one could tell me who would communicate timeline or next steps. Calling them back proved even more difficult; no one answers the phone, returns voicemails, or replies to the text messages that it prompts you to send. The customer/patient service has been absurdly terrible. If I need to add positives; at least you get a LaCroix in the waiting room? read more

I had a great visit. Dr. Catherine was a great provider. She took the time to explain the EKG to me and we also discussed diet and exercise at length. I was impressed with her knowledge, patience and care. Jay did an excellent job during the setup and explained how long procedures would take and answered the questions I had. Susanna at the front was also very helpful and took the time to sort out my pharmacy location and provided a receipt for a previous visit as requested. Despite the fact that we were very clear that we needed a COVID test in order to travel, no one at Total Men's ever asked us to make sure we were getting the kind of test needed and ended up giving us the wrong one. Total Men's *should* be a reliable source of information and should make sure they are administering appropriate/needed tests. Not only did this cause major scrambling on our part, but worse, it was a very expensive omission of information. Catherine Lewis said they would refund our money and also reverse the charge with our insurance company. Now, almost three months later and after multiple calls and promises from them that they would take care of it, they still haven't done anything to help. I had a great experience with this practice. I decided to pick a different primary care physician this year when we changed insurance companies. I was attracted to the name of the business. I mean, i'm a simple guy. "Total Mens"? Yep, that sounds like the right place! Lol. I had questions regarding a genetic blood disease that passed generations to my brother. After much pressure from my brother to get tested for this disease (hemochromatosis), i decided to finally visit my PCP and get a full panel blood test completed. Physicians assistant Jennifer Gredicek was very helpful. I feel very comfortable with Jennifer. She makes it easy for me to discuss in detail the full scope of my health. That is important to me. She is attentive and engaging. I can tell that she is actually listening as i describe to her my story/history of health. Thanks Total Mens William Cannon. read more

Update from my last review... I got a call this evening from Total Men's Health telling me that if I didn't take my "nasty" review down that he would report my husband and I to my insurance company for insurance fraud. He said that because my husband had called and asked if he could change the appointment to be under my name instead of his name, since I was the one needing the letter to be a part of the Caregivers Program for the VA. This is because my husband is a disabled vet. The Caregiver Program requires a doctor to describe the care that I give to my husband based on his PTSD and his symptoms.Total Men's Health believes this is fraud. It's laughable because if they didn't agree that the appointment should be under my name then all they had to do was let us know and they would have gotten their $150 since my husband pays out of pocket. I would have only had to pay a $25 copay and when this man was going on about trying to report me for fraud I let him know that the difference between $25 and $150 would not break my bank. All they had to do was let us know that the appointment needed to be billed for Josh or for the both of us if that's what they felt was appropriate. They never did say this, they just immediately dismissed us from their company. This man then said "do you realize that we are an establishment that normally only sees men and we made an exception for you because you had been a patient of the primary care doctor that had moved from Victory Medical and that they were doing me a big favor allowing me to be a part of their facility?" I then said yes and thank you, with a laugh and a smile as if he was doing me some big favor. I had been a patient of hers for years at Victory Medical. I was personally invited to continue to see her at total Men's Health. His arrogant pompous attitude was as if he was doing me some big favor. My assumption from what he said was to make me feel small and inadequate and that somehow because he was allowing me to go there I was supposed to feel special. His sarcasm was hilarious! I'm sure that we did nothing wrong. He's then accused us of "Doctor shopping" which is also laughable and untrue since "doctor shopping" means you try to go to different doctors to get medications for the wrong purpose and since we actually went to his clinic so that we could stay with the SAME doctor is so upside down and backwards I can't believe he even said it. He then told me that he was going to report my husband to the VA. I'm not sure why? Veterans are allowed to have a civilian doctor in case he can't get into the VA quickly for a visit or for medication. Most people know the VA is overwhelmed and quite busy since there are a lot of veterans in need of physical and mental/ emotional care. If my husband needed something right away, his civilian physician was available more quickly for him get an appointment right away. This is why we're trying to get into the Caregiver Program. I need help giving him the care that he needs. At this time he told me that "I should be afraid" if I didn't take down my nasty review. I then said did you just threaten me and tell me that I should be afraid? I think he realize what just came out of his mouth and then said he DIDN'T say it. UNBELIEVABLE!!! So I assured him that I wasn't afraid of him. I told him at the beginning of the conversation that I was putting him on speaker so that my husband could be a witness to the conversation. He did say that was fine but must have forgotten himself when he threatened me to be afraid. I don't know if he thinks it's insurance fraud to try and change the appointment into my name when the appointment was about me since I am the caregiver. My husband had been there only a few times and I had not been with him at the time so there was no way he could have possibly tried to fraud anyone trying to pretend to be a woman and use my insurance card. The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous. During my husband's visits he paid his expected $150 with no problem. He seemed hostile and angry, threatening that if I didn't take down the review he was going to report us to the VA and to my insurance company as I said before. So it'll be interesting to see what happens next since I'm NOT going to take down my review and I will continue to review as they call and behave and say the things that they do, which are completely inappropriate, outright lies and unprofessional. Oh I almost forgot. He also said that my husband and I were both extremely rude to his in the entire staff on several occasions. Why would my primary care doctor when moving from Victory Medical to men's Total Care even asked if I could continue to be a client of hers if my husband and I were rude people? This guy was just so upset about my review that he found it necessary to threaten me. So again I just want to say for the record this is how Men's Total Health treats United States veterans and their spouses. read more
