We hired Just Call Joe LLC for a large project including a full kitchen renovation, coffee bar, enlarging our pantry opening with barn doors, two bathroom renovations (one expanded), lighting in several rooms, a ceiling fan installation, utility room renovation, roofing work, and installation of an electrical subpanel. Unfortunately the experience was extremely frustrating. The project start date kept getting pushed back and once work began there were about 12 no-call/no-show days, constantly delaying the project. The biggest concern was the quality and safety of the work. The electrical work was not done to code. The subpanel had neutrals tied to the ground bar, cut wires inside the panel, and incorrect wire gauges that could have created a fire hazard. Plumbing work repeatedly leaked and had to be redone multiple times. At one point there was a suspected gas leak and instead of using proper detection equipment Joe tried checking with a lighter. I had to purchase a gas leak detector because he did not have one and insisted there was no leak in the crawlspace. Bathroom work also created additional costs for us. Joe was unable to properly install our shower doors and had to redo tile work, which forced us to buy additional tiles. His incorrect measurements also caused us to purchase the wrong size vanity. Other workmanship issues included sloppy caulking, improperly supported drain pipes, improper water heater ventilation, and incorrectly installing a ceiling fan that I had to fix. In the kitchen he installed cabinets without removing the protective floor paper underneath them, which is still visible today. Another issue involved windows he claimed were picked up. After terminating the job we learned he never picked them up and had only placed a deposit. He promised to reimburse us but never did despite multiple calls and messages. The only work that turned out well was a butcher block table and shelving he built. Due to the delays, no-shows, safety concerns, and additional expenses we incurred, I would strongly caution others before hiring Just Call Joe LLC.

Paul, the owner, gained my trust instantly with his professional and personable manner. Paul was by my side throughout the entire process. For example, he brought me to the flooring store where he assisted me with picking the flooring with the best quality that would work for my home. Everyday, Paul showed up to the house and checked on progress and addressed anything that needed attention. Paul said everything would be done in 4 weeks. After seeing how well the renovations were going, I kept adding additional things to be done including a large beautiful built in for my den which has become the favorite room in the house. Everything was completely finished in 4 weeks. The crew showed up everyday on time. They were respectful, clean and helped out with extra things where needed. I have dealt with tons of construction companies and never had this exceptional experience. After working with Paul, I now consider him and First Impressions part of my family. Four months later and their "plumber" has every excuse in the book for not showing up. Canceled several appointments with very laughable excuses. Showed up 2 times with a wrench and screwdriver only, no tubing or connectors to finish the job. I was warned and did not listen. Be very careful, Paul is very good when the project is being done and the money is flowing. After support warranty, no such thing from them. First Impressions finally resolved the outstanding problem to everyone's satisfaction. The project is now complete and well done. Now I can recommend their services.

His company is one that was recommended by Angi and honestly now I am skeptical of Angi and will never use them again either after this experience. We wanted trek stairs going from the patio to a side door and pavers all around as the patio. Gramarossa are not professionals. The guys they hire seem to be randomly plucked off the street as they have no clue what they were doing. I should have known because when I spoke to Ben he said they did not do trek steps, only masonry. I set an appointment anyway because I figured maybe I can hire someone else to do my trek steps. Yet when he spoke to my husband a few days later (I was at work) he said they do them. It was a disaster from the moment the backyard pavers were laid out. The whole thing was literally slanted sideways by probably 10-15 degrees. In fact the next day the whole thing had to take down and redone. Ben claimed it happened unfortunately because he was not watching his men because he was too busy shopping for our trek materials. The trek steps was done by a man from an entirely different company. It seems they have hired him separately on the side to do it so they can have our business... and it was a SHOTTY job. Ben and his father was watching the man do the work and never said anything about how terrible it was... until we brought it up and they agreed it was not up to their standards. So If we were timid and didn't say anything, they would've definitely let it slide. Whatever. I was just glad they fixed everything without putting up a fight. But here's the thing that really made me angry. His men put their materials and mixed concrete on own brand new asphalt done the year prior, with no protection whatsoever so half of our newly done asphalt was sprinkled with dried concrete. Sadly we did not notice it when we paid because there was still dust and debri all thoughout and it was wet (they attempted to clean) so it was hard to see the stains. That is our fault for not noticing. But I'm annoyed because they knew it happened. I captured the entire thing on my ring camera where they were cleaning and the worker called Ben and his father over to show him the stains that did not come out. They stayed there for a long time trying to clean but it did not come out. No one said a word to us. I contacted Ben via text a week or so later after noticing the huge stains to which he denied it happened and that the stains came out. He said he will come by to power wash it to see if it would come out. We told him we tried. He said he will come by nonetheless but of course never showed up. He said his asphalt guy is not answering and is busy. That was the last of that. So... don't be cheap and hire these guys. I wish I had not.

I've used Werkheiser for 14 years - they were a recommendation from the prior owners of my home…read more They have done a number of jobs including repairing slate tile on my 100 year old home, gutter cleaning, extensive carpentry, painting, replacing a roof on a shed, etc. They are expensive, but well worth it, often doing complicated jobs. Their staff has been there for years and the business is very reliable.

You want quality of work, go to ARM Roofing, HIGHLY recommend them - they fixed in one shot what Werkheiser failed to do, never complaining about "I need a new roof"... ARM Roofing showed me pictures of everything Werkheser roofers neglected - huge holes in my roof. Lesson learned, hope my experience saves you money and aggravation as homeowners.

To say that I'm blown away by John J contracting who checked off every one of those boxes is mind blowing to me Project was to convert my garage into a utilizable living space  I 1st met with Paul who listened to what I wanted done and put together a plan to help me convert my garage into a dance/music studio for my kids.   His ideas were better then the previous 3 contractors I met with, he took a day to create my estimate and from a price perspective he fell in between the high and the low bids I already had. Paul's professionalism kinda sold me, he was very focused and has a great personality. I wanted him to win the job and he fell in my budget so it made my decision very easy to choose them A day before the projects start date I met with John Joyce the owner who came to my house with Paul. We went over some last minute details and ideas and he had a lot of offer from a design and practicality perspective.   Day one of renovation went amazingly well, Joe was over seeing the demo, he was great and didn't cause any collateral damage to my house. Demo guys sometimes can. He didn't , Framing was overseen by another Joe. He was meticulous and had great foresight to the project. Engaged me with any concerns and we worked through all unforeseen obstacles my garage presented. The electrition and plumber were top notch. They were specialist to there perspective fields. My last contractor had one guy for everything but not certified in anything. Unlike any other contractor I ever had they showed up every day. Everyday there was progress being made to my renovation. Most importantly to me was that Paul and John both stopped by my job site every day and sometimes 3 times in a day. But on average probably twice a day to oversee the progress and make enhancements/adjustments as necessary as the project developed, at no extra charge in some cases, they definitely wanted to do what was best for me and not beat me over the head In the process with additional costs. The project called for 3 weeks from start to finish. They completed it ahead of schedule.  All the workers were trustworthy and personable I felt 100% comfortable to leave my young kids home alone for a short time while the guys were working.  At no point did I have have to act as my own project manager as I had to in the past with other contractors. At no point I had to chase them around just to get confirmations on simple things like "are you coming today? " like I had to in the past Paul picked up the phone I would have to say within three rings 99% of the time. Even on Sundays.  To give an idea of who I used in the past  Allure to do my upstairs in 2018.  They had missed a lot of days and a the PM Chris would never return my calls and once the job started he Just went MIA.  I give them 4 out of 10 stars and would never recommend them. Refused to use them again. I paid 30% more and for 50% less I'm my opinion  CCP contracting Who did a renovation downstairs in 2019.  Owner would not return unless I had sent a scathing text message begging for a call back, and when he called me back he made me feel like I was bothering him. Started my job in mid April needed it done by my birthday mid May and commited to that time frame, and did not end up not finishing till mid June. After the job was done things that needed to be touched up and they ghosted me pretty much.  ( John J actually fixed some of their issues for me) I can't say enough good about John J Contracting, I will only use them going forward, I recommend them to the highest degree.  Do not start a project without giving them consideration James

The repair was done, and I was able to sleep soundly through the storm rather than watching my ceiling collapse! We made an appointment for July 20 for the painting of one room. July 20 came and went and "FromTop2Bottom" never showed. I called them to get an explanation and never received a response. I emailed the company and two days later received a call and a message saying they were sorry and "busy." I finally heard back from "Eric" today and his explanation was this: "I only schedule these Groupons for rainy days, that's my availability." (note: it was raining on July 20, the day I had my appointment). He claimed that for the Groupons, he only scheduled them "on rainy days" (so, with 24 hours notice?) and that he "regretted ever signing up for this Groupon" and gave me excuse after excuse for BLOWING OFF AN APPOINTMENT that he made and confirmed. By the way, this "rainy day policy" was not ANYWHERE in the Groupon and I would NOT have purchased it had I been appraised of this ridiculous scheduling policy. Not only that, but I originally told Eric that I had 2-3 other rooms that needed professional painting and asked if he could give me a quote. AND HE STILL BLEW OFF AN APPOINTMENT. This guy has no shame and he runs a business like a 10 year old. At this point, I asked him to check his schedule and call me back with a time that WILL WORK. I doubt I'll hear back from him. Bottom line: From Top 2 Bottom cannot be trusted to keep appointments and you're better off hiring ANY OTHER COMPANY for your painting needs.

I had a plumbing leak from upstairs bathroom leaking through to my kitchen below. It was not an…read moreeasy repair at all due to the age of the house and the plaster repairs needed. Eric was referred by the plumber; I was living on the other side of the country at the time and Eric was absolutely terrific. He scheduled the work with my tenants, performed the work while they were living there - which meant that he had to work around them and keep dust and mess to a minimum. I spoke to him only a couple of times; he also took care of a few other odd jobs such as hanging up blinds. The work was done quickly and extremely well. You would not know that the leak had ever happened. He redid the drywall and plaster in a difficult corner, patched, painted, and it looks as good as new. Price was reasonable and fair, and it was greatly appreciated that he was efficient and showed up when he said he would.
