This WAS my favorite liquor and wine store in Denver. Great prices, great customer service till my last visit and a fabulous selection. I liked going here even tho it's not close to my home but always found what I wanted and was treated well. NOW, I will never go back. My BF abs I walked into the store, saw kids with parents, teenagers with parents, whole families. cool. I'm from Louisiana so drinking wise nothing shocks me. I picked out my whiskey, went to pay, IM 46, my BF is 47, well over 21 and we may not look old but we look way over 21. The guy behind the counter asked for my if, cool, I was buying it, and then asked for my BFs. He had left his wallet at home. He had not held the bottle of whiskey, he had not tried to purchase anything and the kid said he had to see his ID too. I asked when they started doing that as we had come here quite a bit and NEVER both been ID'd. There is no signage on the door saying you must be 21 to enter. There is nothing on the website relating this message. We have never been asked before..... the clerk said he'd call a manager over, a nice female manager came over, she took one look at us and said this is ridiculous and you'll have to call the main manager bc I'm not saying don't sell to her. Then an older manager came over and said we both had to have IDs. I asked when did this start??? (No answer). I said what about the kids and teenagers in the store, are you going to ID them??? (No answer) I asked when this new policy started as it's never happened bf, (no answer). Like literally would not answer me. He then finally said this is my least favorite part of my job. I said I don't care. This is not how we have been treated in the past, there is no signage up and you are letting kids and teenagers in the store. I had my idea, I was buying the whiskey, my BF never touched it. If that's your new store policy as it's never happened in the 2+ years I've been going there. My father and I went in last month and they didn't ID either of us. If that's the rule, cool, but let the public know, if it's policy put it on the website and if that is the policy you sure shouldn't let kids and teenagers in. You should be checking ids at the door. It was crappy customer service. And I am going to be writing to corporate, researching with the ATF, and lodging a complaint. It's a shame bc it's a great store, pathetic management. read more

If you're a friend of a manager or are a male, this is absolutely your Total Wine. If you're anything other than the aforementioned, I'd spend the extra dollar or two and go somewhere else. I stood in line this evening with a basket of things while I patiently waited in a fairly long line, no problem there - that's to be expected on a Saturday evening at any liquor store. Waiting really isn't my complaint here. About 5 minutes into my standing in line the man behind me got called over to the customer service check stand to cash out, as if I wasn't standing there waiting directly in front of him with the same, if not less, amount of goods in hand. He made it out of the store and parking lot as I was still watching the two people in front of me complete their transactions. I know everyone has their bad days but this was horrible form. Racist. Bad customer service. My husband and I decided to stop by to get some beers, my husband was paying but we both were asked for ID's, I left mine at home, we live close by. We were told we both needed to have ID's in order to purchase, they said it was a policy thing but we are close to our 40's.. I understand policies but plenty of times my husband (he's white) had purchased alcohol in this store in the company of our small children (pretty white looking), no ID's are asked for them. I'm a 100% latina, kind of odd that this happened when I was around, kids are ok, brown people not so much. Be aware. read more

This store has terrible POS systems. They have around 10 lanes but only ever see them using 3 or 4. I would say it's a staffing issue but there are always plenty in the store. Hope they can figure it out cause it's annoying. read more

I have always had stellar service at the Total Wine in Centennial. My last visit was no exception. The store manager (Steve) and the associate who assisted me (Oliver) were very helpful in making sure I found the wine I wanted and could use an online discount. Yay!!! So glad to find this place here!! I missed it so much from Tampa. It has everything and I will come here for all future EtOH needs. Highly recommended especially for wine. They always have a large selection of all varieties of wine including the super high end stuff like dom perignon (something other than 2004), and high end Bordeaux wines. read more

Fantastic customer service and huge selection of beer. The prices cannot be beat. Have purchased different 6-Packs of IPA's and on multiple occasions pay 1-2 dollars less per 6-pack. The people working there have gone out of there way every time to help me find something and even placed an order for me. My new favorite place to purchase alcohol! read more

Good selection of beer, wine, spirits for most people. Way serious oenophiles or spirits collectors may have a different viewpoint, but I'm neither, so it works for me. I made a web order for pickup - worked great except for packaging - one bottle broke on the way home. The manager made good on the lost product without an issue - I found the customer service to be great and they handled the issue the way you'd hope. read more

I called about a keg exchange prior to visiting the store and was told by the employee that they would be able to accommodate. When I drove to the store I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they couldn't handle said exchange. I'll be taking my business back to Argonaut read more

Asked a customer service person, who was standing around not doing anything, where a specific beer was and she just pointed in the general direction of where it might be. Very impressed with our visits to the new Total Wine location at S. Colorado Blvd. & Evans. They just opened and had a lot of celebratory offerings. Live acoustic music, multiple distillers and vintners on had for generous sampling, a Boar's Head salami and cheese table, plus a flock of attentive managers and floor people introducing themselves and asking how things were. We sampled wines, distilled spirits and beers from knowledgeable reps (and owners) who explained the subtleties of their products. The store's set up, floor plan and merchandising are the best I've ever seen in a liquor store. The overall feeling was "an experience" as my gal and I cruised the aisles and surveyed the thousands of products. The wine selection is off-the-charts. Ditto for distilled spirits, which are grouped in a number of ways that really help customers key-in on what they want. And the beer department is awesome, with tons of single cans/bottles available so you can just check out a style without buying a bunch. Prices are the best in the region, by far. No more Morgan's Liquors or Keg Liquors (sorry guys, but your sales are too few and far between) for us. Glad to have Total in the 'hood. read more

Loving Total Wine in Denver! We moved to Denver from Dallas, and were sad to find out a year ago there was no Total Wine in Denver, let alone CO! The Evans location opened up recently, and we have been there in two different occasions, stocking up on multiple cases each trip. In both cases the help was amazing, and on my last trip, Mark was amazing! Living in Marin County for several years we became way to slanted towards Napa/Sonoma wines. Mark did a phenomenal job helping me pick out several European wines that we'll be investing in for years to come! Love Total Wine! read more

For the past 3 years I always had great experiences, people offering to help out, recommending products, and overall great service until the last 3 times I still tried..and was just worse each time. One of the last times we came I thought they closed at 11, walked in at 9:40 maybe, grabbed our stuff and no one to check us out. We were approached by a "manager" saying we could no longer purchase because they were closed. Of course I was frustrated that they let us walk in and walk up to the cash register just to tell us that 10 minutes BEFORE the "close time". A couple weeks later I walk in with my husband and brother (who is 18) and lives with me. Our father lives in a different country and mom not in the picture. I had previously came on the weekends when children and families are walking around and I go in to buy a bottle of wine with my husband while my brother waits by the stacked boxes, of course he does not drink, yet the same manager approached us and said we could not purchase because he did not provide his ID. I let them know he could provide it but didn't know he HAD to be 21 to enter because I had seen children in the store multiple times before. It was 12 degrees outside and didn't want him waiting in the car. She said "if you see children in here its because they are with their actual MOM OR DAD." I told her I didn't have to explain if we even have our mom or dad here but that their bogus rules are all over the place and somehow they seem to keep targeting us for one reason or another after going there, the same manager and her name is Gretchen. She then said nothing to us but told the cashier she had to tell us to leave. I was speechless and walked very shocked and hurt because I truly feel we keep getting either targeted or discriminated by her. I will absolutely NEVER go back to this location and really feel bad for the rest of the employees if rude and very privileged or close-minded individual like her has to manage them. read more

Just left total wine empty handed. Went specifically to purchase wine I had a restaurant. I was unable to find initially so asked for help. Was told that someone would help me in aisle 16. Went to that aisle and relooked. Identified the wine but was unable to reach. Waited 10 minutes no help. Went and reasked for help. Waited another 10 minutes numerous staff member walked by but no help. Decided not to wait any longer. Attempted to get attention of customer service agent but was unable to get attention. Too bad this is very handy but why torturer myself when I can drive a little extra and go to argonaut. read more

Other than the parking lot, which can be a zoo even at off hours, this place is great! Fantastic selection and really good prices. Very helpful staff. I was there for 10 minutes, and was asked twice if I needed help selecting anything. The sommeliers are very knowledgeable and helpful without being snooty. read more

Everything the other guys should be. Virtually unlimited selection, great customer service and prices far below "the World's Largest Liquor Store" in Thornton. I wish it were on the North side of Denver rather than South, but I'll continue to shop here when I am in that part of town. read more

Great selection but VERY high sales pressure. One of the associates approached me and as she was telling me about a wine actually picked a bottle up off the shelf and placed it in my cart mid-sentence. I'm trying to pick up some booze, I could do without the used car sales experience. read more

I went to this store approached an associate asked where the bottle of Dalmore Cigar Malt were ($180) the associate said it was locked up and I said that's ok I figured. He then told me he didn't have a key so I asked who did... he then proceeded to show me to the locked case (my first time in the store) then said "let me show you a secret" he then pressed a button on the front of the case. Being this was first time in the store I was super pissed this guy acted like an arrogant asshole and I will never buy from this store again. The bottle of Dalmore was a present otherwise I would of walked out. I waited for forever a manager unlocked the cage then asked another associate to bring the bottle to customer service which is understandable given the price and yet again this associate was another rude asshole. I told the guy who I bought the bottle for as a present my experience and he told me not only will he never shop there but that I should of walked out. The story goes deeper then this review but most of my contact with the associates of this store was not just negative but super negative and I will never stop there again and recommend everyone else not to else well the customer service is terrible. read more

I think the prices are amazing in this store. When they first opened, I thought their customer service was pretty amazing too. But I've changed my mind about their customer service. I was looking for a cold bottle of wine to take home to drink with friends on the patio. Their cooler was non-existent yet their "instant cooler" was available to cool my wine in 7 minutes... Luke warm was more like it. I would much rather pay a few more dollars for a premium bottle of scotch or a bottle of wine somewhere else down the road than deal with a stuck up/hipster cashier named MITCHELL who can't even be bothered with providing me with scold bottle of wine, acknowledging me or letting me know how the points work. I know Denver has accepted the lack of friendliness in customer service, but I have not. Super disappointed in this store. Since they've opened, I've spent about $5,000.00 in this store. I collect good wine and scotch. Alas... I won't be back. read more
