(1 Star) My husband and I went to Total Wine to buy a few bottles of soju. We were greeted at the entrance, and an employee even handed us a shopping cart. After selecting our items, we went to the checkout, where I handed the cashier my valid ID. The cashier then told me she could not sell the alcohol because she also needed to see my husband's ID. My husband had forgotten his wallet at home, but that shouldn't have mattered because I was the one purchasing the alcohol, and I had a valid ID. We politely explained that I was the purchaser, but the cashier refused. My husband even suggested he can just wait outside and was told it doesn't matter. She explained anyone who enters needs to be legal if age. Ironically a middle age man being helped next cashier with his kids. We asked to speak with a manager, who repeated the same policy. He compared the situation to ordering drinks at a bar, saying everyone would need to show ID. That comparison didn't make sense to us because I was making a retail purchase, not ordering drinks for immediate consumption. What made the experience even more frustrating was that we didn't see any posted sign explaining this policy. While we were there, we also noticed another customer shopping with a child who was still being checked out without any issue, which made the policy feel inconsistently applied. Nobody ask for ID or we would have not spent 40 mins in there. We chose not to complete our purchase and left disappointed. We understand and respect businesses following alcohol laws, but this situation felt unreasonable, poorly explained, and inconsistently enforced. I always shop here for my hot sauce and I do not drink often. Today I went to this location by the In and Out and Dawn asked for both my and my partners ID. I told her I did not have mine on me, and we were not buying alcohol so it should be okay. She said word for word, "it doesn't matter. You walked into a liquor store." If that was were the case, why have I not been ID'ed every time before, why are we not ID'ed at the door, and we will just have to go to Lee's from now on. She was very snobbish and did not leave any room for questions. So as she snatched my partners ID from his hands I said firmly, "that's fine. I'll just leave." Her manager didn't stop me to ask for an ID. I waited right outside the door. Thank you Dawn for showing us the true colors of this establishment. Usually the younger ladies and men are nice. This older lady was rude and seemed very unhappy with her job. The sigh she gave me as I passed by made me feel like she was upset that I didn't argue. How disappointing. UPDATE: I did call another location to see what their policy was on IDs. Walter? I believe at the Rampart location confirmed for ALL purchases they HAVE to scan the ID. My partner confirmed she DID NOT scan his ID and only looked at it. I have a feeling she was just giving us a hard time because of that fact. There's a vast selection at Total Wine and when you're open to trying new items, you rely on an educated staff. I would say that we always get the help we need from the Total Wine team. The managers are always around and very nice and welcoming. The team members at checkout are also very nice and they love seeing furkids - a huge plus! Weekly, you can find sampling stations where the reps are also very nice and cordial. They are friendly and there's always several stations so there's never a wait to try something new. The beer cooler is great - you can get kegs and find drinks already nicely chilled if you don't have time to chill an entire case. The snack aisle is also great - I have discovered different salsas that are very good here - namely the Peach Salsa! read more

They also offer different wine classes and stock the class with an abundant amount of food to embellish your wine tasting experience. The service is always very good. Someone goes on a ladder for us if we want something that is up too high. We also never have to wait too long in line to check out. We like this store but- There is only one thing that isn't perfect. Every single time we shop here inconsiderate shoppers park in the Total Wine Pick Up Spots. Often there are four or five of the pick up spots being taken up by inconsiderate customers. On the day of our last purchase 3 of the 6 spots were taken by customers that were inconsiderate and were using the pick up spots as close parking spaces. We also came at a slow time so there were many empty parking spots very close. We never had this problem when we shopped at Total Wine near Phoenix. Maybe this issue can be fixed? read more

CALLING WINE LOVERS!! Total wine has these fun classes basically every month! I'm pretty sure they do wines from different countries or US regions for different classes too. We joined in on the Tour of Italy wine class and it was so much fun. We got to make our own charcuterie plates and as we tasted 8 different wines we learned about their flavors and where their grapes are grown. It was not only informative but super fun, our host definitely enjoyed teaching these class. Personally I just wish there was more white wine options we got to explore but besides that it definitely solidified a monthly event! read more

I do not recall the name of the lady of helped me but she recommended the "2021 Truth and Valor Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Margarita Ranch.I purchased two bottles and opened one up last night. First time here, so many isles and so many different options to choose from. I however don't drink but for people that do this is the place to go. So many Champagnes to choose from, there was a lady sampling out different Champagnes which was nice to see what one was good since my husband doesn't drink Champagne often so we weren't sure which one to choose. They say it's the toys r us for alcoholics, but I say it's the bar that has everything you never wanted. The tasting booths are brilliantly sneaky. You didn't come in to buy coffee flavored tequila liquor but after tasting it you buy it and six other spirits that if you don't by them they will haunt your dreams. They gave all the best bitters and mixing masterfuls. Let's take a trip into the walk in humidor....they have everything but the Cubans... Walked in and was immediately acknowledged by all the staff that was around the front door. Asked where the scotch area was, sorry I totally forgot her name, but she was the best! she guided me to the area and actually offered me some peaty scotches to tryout before I buy it. I wish back in Hawaii the liquor stores did that, but I get it probably most people will take advantage of it and not buy anything. I hadn't shopped here before. But this store delivers to my address, and we were low on wine needed for cooking. From cookbook advice and past experience, prepared dishes that require some wine as an ingredient always taste better when the wine used comes from a bottle of fine wine rather than from cooking wine per se. So I ordered online some bottles of Florio Sweet Marsala, Buttercream Chardonnay, and Oak Grove Chardonnay Reserve to be delivered to my North Las Vegas home the next day. All purchased wine products arrived on time within the early portion of the two-hour block selected. The order was correct, and the bottles were all well protected in a partitioned cardboard box and in pristine condition. My driver's license was scanned for proof of age, and the masked, friendly and efficient delivery person was quickly back on her way. Now, courtesy of Total Wine & More, Diane has all the ingredients she needs to cook superior Shrimp Scampi and memorable Chicken Marsala entrees. I can hardly wait to taste the results! read more

Tim was busy stocking and explaining wines to an assistant and he literally stopped what he was doing to help me find the Sandeman port. Staff working on the floor are nice and super helpful but when you get to the cashiers there absolutely unprofessional and rude I had an incident where the cashier asked for my id and my brothers I understand the 30 year age rule but she had no jurisdiction telling me with an attitude to "leave him in the car next time and we won't have a problem" and then the manager came and proceeded to tell me "I'm not gonna sell this to you, and you need to leave immediately" and I wouldn't have had a problem but also that manager that day was mildly rascist twords us because of the looks and gestures she was making twords me never have I ever been treated this badly in a store so if you want better customer service I don't recommend shopping here at all. read more

Very disappointed in customer service. I came in to buy a wine travel case. The female that assisted me getting it from the top shelf was very rude. I asked to see both cases to compare. She and her counterpart did not bring both down and acted completely put out like it was not their job to do so. I mentioned I had seen the cases on the floor at some point. Thats how I knew where to find them. She said three times and rolled her eyes they were never "on the floor". I lived in Vegas five years ago. They were in fact on a promotion at some point then and I had admired them. I bought the largest 12 bottle case but not in anyway because ai received any kind of kind customer service. Had I had another option I would have walked out and not purchase today. Both employees acted as If I did not have the means to do so. I am beyond disgusted and disappointed by what used to be m favorite store when I lived here and when I visit my family. That is sadly no longer the case after such an awful experience. This is my go to place when I need to buy liquor for cocktails, new beers to try, and for wine. I'm a dork and have an Instagram page where I match my wine bottle to the book that I am reading/reviewing on my page. Every time I go there, I know I am going to be able to find a wine to match because they have such an amazing selection. Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable (although I do laugh a little at how some employees pronounce Willamette - I'm an Oregon girl after all). I am always approached several times when I am there asking if I need any help. They also have tastings going on every now and then which is nice if it is a wine I am considering. After receiving less than stellar interaction with employees at a nearby Lee's Liquor, not to mention they did not have either of the two beer brands I was searching for, I went to this Total Wines & More. This store is x3 larger than the Lee's and I hoped to find what I was looking for. I was unable to find what I was looking for and started heading out the front door. The manager greeted me and asked if I found what I was looking for and I told him I had struck out. He inquired what it was and after telling him he informatively told me that one of the beer brands I desired is not sold west of the Mississippi, but they company was in the process of building a plant in Colorado and he expected to see on the west coast within the year. As tot he second beer brand I had looked for he told me they did carry it and volunteered to help me look for it. The manager left his station at the front of the store, escorted me to the huge beer section towards the back, and started searching the shelves. He located this beers stocking location, which appeared empty. He searched to the rack and located two six packs hidden towards the back, out of sight. Yep, I purchased them. They even have a wide variety of kitchen knickknacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks to accompany your selections. Their selection is simply unmatched. Their service is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Every visit to this store and the other locations in the valley has been pleasant with an associate always there offering to see if they can help me find anything or offer a suggestion. The place is very well organized, and you can easily peruse the aisles to 'window shop' their selections. Their prices are very reasonable, and this is a favorite of any of our out of town visitors, as they usually stock up on hard to find items. Although I haven't had the opportunity to try any of their classes, I've heard good things and look forward to attending one once things resume to normal business operations. The store was exceptionally clean during my recent visit, and I'm very happy to continue to be a customer of this location. Hot Tips: * A gift card to this store makes a wonderful gift to anyone. They have a pretty good rewards program. Every time I order from here, I get an expired soda. I thought maybe it was a fluke (time and time again), but just in case I asked my pick up driver to check to see if it was expired. It sure was! The last few times I've gotten a Dr Pepper, a Diet Coke, and this time I got a diet Dr Pepper. upon entering the store, he asked them to check, and they told him it was expired, and that they would go find an unexpired one in the back. Nearly 10 minutes goes by and they come out and tell him that not only do they not have any unexpired Dr. Pepper, but they can't trade it out for anything. Considering I've gotten another soda that was also expired, it's clear to me that they don't have unexpired sodas in stock. I bought juice from them, I'm genuinely afraid to know if that was expired or not. Usually, I drink them with alcohol, so sometimes it's hard to tell, and i didn't think to see if it was expired. I've had only tasted minorly different, but I don't drink soda, so it wasn't immediately apparent to me. also, they weren't recently expired. one was from february of this year, another from june. I just got one from the store to replace the expired one I didn't get... it doesn't expire until early spring next year. that means they've had these sodas for well over a year i'm sure. they must not be checking the dates or they're hoping people don't notice. who knows what other shortcuts they're taking. I know I should check expiration dates before consuming, but that never used to be a worry. The driver said that they were not very nice about the entire thing and they had terrible customer service. That seems to be the course here, considering other reviews. For a long time, total line was my go to because it was the closest to my house. I live a little bit out there, but I will gladly drive 20 minutes out of my way over here ever again. maybe this isn't a deal breaker for some but it is for me. i should not be getting expired product, and if they want to do that, they shouldn't be selling them for full price. 50 cents at most. Dimarco the cashier would not sell me any alcohol because I brought my sister who is a minor "16" we were purchasing for our parents actually and he made a big deal, called management overhead, threw a fit and made a whole scene.
