Visiting LA for the holidays. I decided to order wines for family get togethers, and this review is based solely on their website and the ability for me to order wine and have them delivered same day on Christmas Eve. Sure it took me over an hour to browse thru all the wines to pick out personal faves, etc. But it was done. Scheduled a delivery window...paid, tipped the delivery person all via the website. Saved me a lot of time and hassle and worth the modest delivery charge. I'd do it again under similar circumstances. read more

This place is silly. I was perusing the store and was approached aggressively(unnecessarily loud tone) by someone in management saying "may I help you", I simply said Hennessy Black. As I was guided to the locked location she turns and says what every ill informed person of her hue says " did I see you at....( Just put in any location for another total wine and more). Look I hate to understand but yes people of my skin tone are on the news for mob like actions but I am not one. I am not in agreement with mob like actions or hypervigilance of store employees who aren't cultured enough to have friends outside of their mirrored selves. It was an unpleasant experience especially in these days where people think they are qualified to be on "law and order" in their heads. When did ignorance become the prevailing thought in this country. I find mobs of thieves stupid and management who use pea sized brains to keep using stereotypes just as stupid. THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE of any Total Wine I have ever been in, and I've been in a few. Might actually be best customer service of any liquor store I've ever been in. My sis and I came for a wine tasting class and it was loads of fun! Our instructor, Juan, was very good and knowledgeable. We had plenty of snacks and pallet cleansers to help us taste better. While I enjoy wine, I just don't see myself as a person who spend time getting to know the elements so I am not the best person to judge a wine tasting. I love the selection of booze here and the prices are good. I love the look and feel of this store and they have loads of fun classes coming up. All in all, a great experience! read more

FYI - they have a group ID policy. Meaning everyone in the party HAS to provide their drivers license. I find this to be a bit absurd and ridiculous but whatever. Just make sure everyone has their ID otherwise they cannot complete the transaction. read more

I've loved the selection of every Total Wine that I've been to, and this location doesn't disappoint. They carry my favorite malt cocktail that I can never find in other stores! And the staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The largest Total Wine I had ever been to and now I understand what "& More" meant because they had SOOOOO many options! It was crazy. Came here for one liquor bottle, ended up tasting so much alcohol and leaving with well over $100 worth of alcohol. Amazing! Got to taste some local beers - one was a coffee based beer that was absolutely delicious. The prices here used to be more competitive, and the staff was definitely more friendly. After my last visit I realized that I overpaid for an item. My mistake. Yes, they have some things that are less expensive than other places, but don't assume they have the lowest price around. Also don't expect to ever find any allocated items. The best items are never available. The staff is hit or miss. Last time I asked if they ever have allocated items and the manager that I asked looked at me like I was speaking another language. Is that typical? I don't know, but I'm not anxious to go back to find things I can buy elsewhere for less. Plus the chance of asking and getting something unusual is better at some of the Mom & Pops. I love this place: It has a great selection of international and national beer, wine and liquors. I've been looking for a place like this ever since I moved to LA. Their broad selection of German beer and European wine makes me feel home and helps to ease my homesickness. Their staff is very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Honestly this place is really amazing! It's about 25 mins away from me, but they've got the goods! I've come here because they always have the brands I'm searching for and the variations. For example, most places will have schnapps, but they've got the "99" brand (99 bananas, 99 oranges, etc) in the 750ml bottle, where no where else seems to have it. They've got Bud Light Cheladas in the variation box, they've had fancy liqueurs that I just cannot find elsewhere. Another thing is the Veil brand of vodka, which may or may not be their in store brand, but it was absolutely amazing. I've bought a few variations and my favorite was the black pepper vodka, which was good for Bloody Marys. In comparison to their likely main competitor BevMo, they're much more clean and kept up. BevMo never has 99 in bigger than a 50ml bottle, never has the Cheladas in the box, and has no Veil. The employees are very kind and quick to ask if you need help or get to the register to check you out. I find all the Total Wine stores are like this, helpful, stocked with things I want and clean. I've never had a bad or meh experience. I don't even actually need assistance when shopping in here since it's set up in a smart way where I can find what I'm looking for, but I'm still offered help in a tone that doesn't say to me "they told me to ask if you needed help". I can't say that about BevMo which is often dusty, without stock and has entry level attitudes from the associates. I don't find the prices to be any more than any other store that sells liquor. I'm assuming the vendors set the prices for the most part, so to come here doesn't mean you're spending more than you would at BevMo or any other liquor or wine store. read more

Fortunately, I am here to find the Napa Chardonnay which I need to do engraving for my customer. I am glade that my customer can get his birthday gift. This place is huge! So many selections of wine, beer and spirits! They have weekly tastings Thursday-Sunday that is "5 cents" for 5 tastings, which is great for someone wanting to get into wine. Plus it is so cheap!!! I havent har a chance to try one of their classes but the room in the back looks amazing. Think of this as place as a mix between BevMo and Vromans...you will understand more once you go. Everyone was super friendly and would go out of their way to help. Side note- a guy in line had to legit wait under 3 minutes in line to pay for his six pack and then tells the cashier "I'm going to Yelp this" due to his "long wait." I recommend this place to every one of my friends (and just random strangers if I can). Honestly, this is the friendliest liquor store I've ever been to. As soon as my husband and I walked through the door, we were greeted by Drew who enthusiastically guided us to the section we were looking for. Then the employee at the Specialty beers counter (didn't catch his name but he was tall/brunette) explained everything we needed to know about the barley wine and stouts we were browsing. Then there were two different shoppers we chatted with about our favorite choices in the specialty section. It felt like an episode of Cheers, everyone was so happy and nice. Spencer at Total Wine and More is very knowledgeable! We were inquiring about wine with less sugar, he told us traditional wine making techniques in France naturally have less sugar than most Californian wines of which I had always favored. Since then I have followed his advice and found the wines from France to be more subtle and they do seem to have less sugar. There's probably more to the story, and I am sure there are certain California vineyards that follow more traditional wine making techniques but we appreciate his great advice! read more

First time visiting this store from Koreatown Los Angeles and I must say.. Really rude customer service. I Felt like a criminal... I was asked multiple times about my age as if they didn't have my id and other various forms of identification on hand... what is up with that? I was surprised with the wide range of beer selection they carry which is pretty great.. So I asked one of the staff (male with glasses) if they carried Estrella Jalisco Mango Michelda after showing him a picture.. and he rudely said "No! we don't have that type of things here" I guess they only look forward to serving middle age customers. I ended up purchasing 43 dollars worth of sangria. But I don't think I'll ever come back here again. My friend and I came to buy some spiked seltzer's and when it was time to pay they asked for both of our IDs and I had mine but my friend didn't bring hers since I was the one buying we figured she didn't need hers. If I don't find what I'm looking for TW&M has awesome staff that can suggest something compatible that you'll like just as much. I usually try and look for Juan as his recommendations never disappoint. Also, try and ask him how you can sit in on one of his awesome wine tasting sessions. The most unpleasant and embarrassing experience I've ever had purchasing alcohol. It all started when my dad voiced that he wanted to try the new Ryan Reynolds aviation gin. So of course, my brother and I look into getting it for his Christmas gift (mainly my brother because he lives at home and I was told about my dad's wishes when I came home to visit). Point being, my brother and I get to Total Wine and More and parking is ridiculous... On a Tuesday night at 6pm and there's no parking in the store lot. PLUS there's a parking meter guy giving tickets to people in their parking lot? Didn't sign up for that, so we park a lengthy block away and walk there. At that point I'm already irritated, I was hoping to make this a short trip in and out after a long day at work. I get the alcohol and I'm in line to purchase it. The guy asks for my ID and he makes it quiet obvious he doesn't believe I'm 21 (whatever, I get it). Tried scanning it and says there's a problem (probably faked it but whatever). Then called his like 4 times to come over and check my ID. Meanwhile i could've been in an out by then. Also, I've purchased alcohol multiple times from the Bay Area through San Diego and ever had this problem with my ID. Manager quickly glances at my ID and said it's fine (so you mean to tell me my ID was fine the whole time I waited for it to be checked?) I was pulling out my cash and ready to pay, when the manager asked my brother for his ID. I've visited several stores that sell exclusively alcohol and have never heard of such a policy. As long as the person purchasing is 21, no other place cares who you bring with you. Which has never been a problem for me since I take my younger brother EVERYWHERE. I've taken him to wineries, to bars, other alcohol stores, and he's never been asked for his ID because he is clearly just tagging along given his disinterest in being there in the first place. Policy or not, I felt insulted that I had to DEFEND bringing my brother into a store with me. I don't care if it's a store that's full of alcohol and they're just trying to protect themselves from an undercover cop, I'm not leaving my underage sibling in the car parked blocks away, nor am I going to be walking blocks to the store by myself at night. Also easy solution, why not just card everyone the moment they step into the store and not just wait till they get all their stuff and check out? It's not a business invitee's responsibility to look at all the fine print on your door before . Thanks total wine and more for making this a "never again" experience. We had a great time at a wine tasting session at this location. The instructors were excellent and shared quite a lot of knowledge in a casual, friendly atmosphere. The French wines were well selected & I'd gladly return for another educational session. If it was purely rating the instructors, I'd give them 5 stars. That said, other Total Wine & More locations have better craft beer selections & I really wanted to find two different Imperial Russian Stouts that weren't stocked. I'm making this review because I just had the most insane experience with the assistant manager here. This psychos name is Jene. She started yelling at me when I was walking out of the door after shopping here to put on a mask literally as I was walking out the door I took off my mask and before I can cross the plane of the door she starts screaming at me to put on my mask I look back at her and I was like is this lady insane I'm walking out the door she then threatened to ban me next time I didn't have a mask on until I'm outside literally as I'm walking outside so I put my mask back on asked for her name and then she says for that little stunt of asking for her name I'm banned from the store this woman has some mental issues so I went ahead and got the name of the general manager and I've submitted a complaint with corporate who's going to have the district manager called me in two days frankly I've never had an experience of this nature especially after patronizing this location so many times and frankly she should be fired. It's one thing if I had a medical condition or I was not wearing a mask inside the store while shoping but to chastise me as I'm about to walk out the door of the store for taking off my mask is out of control.
