The staff is always ready to help you because I sometimes look like a deer in headlights when I come in trying to find something (or I'm all giddy like a kid in a candy store because let's be honest, alcohol is better than candy). Also, have I mentioned the prices? Yes. They are amazing. They are lower than most liquor stores. OHMYGERD, did I also mention that they actually carry hard-to-find liquors too? This is wine nirvana! It is enormous, it is organized, it has a huge variety! They have every type of wine imaginable. The customer service is great and the lines move quickly. I especially liked the "Wine Spectator" section. The first aisle has a large variety of wines that are recommended by the Wine Spectator. Definitely helpful for those who aren't knowledgeable and don't want to take a chance on a random bottle of wine. Total Wine has a great sized collection of spirits, wines, and beers. It's not the type of store that you can depend on to have a specific obscure spirit you like a specialty store, but its inventory easily beats out local competitors, and you'll be be surprised at some of the niche products that they have. Total Wine tends to be busy, so its takes longer to get help or traverse the store. In my experience, their staff isn't always available to give wine suggestions or guidance with finer spirits. This review is specifically about Total Wine's order-online-delivery service. I have used it multiple times in the past several months since quarantine and truthfully it's really quite convenient. I have consistently found their drivers / delivery people to be extremely courteous and professional. There are occasional hiccups with ordering - inventory in the app will say in stock for delivery, yet after ordering part of my orders have been cancelled in the past, with no opportunity for substitution. If you're having a party and need something specific, that could be a problem. But overall this service is great, delivery is reasonable (under $10) and fast - depending upon the time you order it's either same day or next day. The biggest selection of wine I have ever seen in my life. This is like the Walmart of wine. I'm so used to small corner store liquor stores. They have thousands and thousands of options here. Prices range from cheap to expensive. I guess the vast selection explains why there are so many expensive options as well. You can definitely find affordable options. And every time I'd revisit the isle to get products and ask for help-- this overweight female stocker would respond with an awful attitude and drop products loudly. Dog lovers and beer lovers beware! I like this store most of the staff is cool and the selection is very nice! I took my dog to the pet store over in the strip mall and stopped by total to get some beers. They have no signage that dogs are allowed or not. I was putting my leashed 9 pound dog in the cart when I was confronted. Yes confronted by this bald angry employee with a dictatorship mentality. He yelled at me that dogs are not allowed. Ok fair enough! I didn't know. I can leave I was with another adult-fine- But- Tell me don't yell at me! I was like I didn't know. He yelled more at me that there's food here (packaged not out)What am I thinking to bring an animal in here. Dude I got the message - he then be-raided me for a few more and ran away. 1- there no signs but your house your rules 2- I'm a customer be nice- I'll listen just be respectful I left the dog with my husband I went back in and asked to speak to a manager. Who told me Wait for it... that dogs are allowed! Wtf. As long as the dog is being calm it's fine. So that bald man with the thick accent just yelled at me for fun. Wtf. This is my second attempt at a wine tasting class. that efforts time did not go well but decided to give them a second chance. First thing first, they do not start on time. a pet peeve of mine. provided was a small cheese plate with soft cheeses. lovely however, no forks or any utensils to eat or serve with other than toothpicks. I do wish the presenter would not read her slides. I can read the slides just fine Overall boring. Too much history, not enough tasting, not enough interesting. the class was advertised as Napa Valley & beyond. they definitely spent more time on the beyond part of it. as they spoke of the wines in the power poi t slide it would have been easier to understand if we could taste what they were talking about. in NJ apparently you are only allowed to pour 4 wines. dumb. Amazing selection of wines, beers, and liquor, at great prices. The employees have been quite aggressive when I am picking my wine. I have been approached at least 4 times by employees who attack me with "if you like that wine, you definitely have to try..." and then they just keep talking about what they think I need to try. I have done my best to appear disinterested, but they keep talking and don't take the hint. The first two times I actually picked up a bottle of what they were so persistently suggesting, and the recommendations were terrible. Not much to say except they have a huge selection under one roof with reasonable prices. This is the "Costco" of alcohol. Great place to stock up the bar instead of running to 2-3 different store to find your favorite drink. This is now the best liquor store in the area. The store is absolutely massive with a very wide selection of wine, liquor, and beer. They even have their own walk-in cigar humidor. I was at the store today to pick up an order and also to purchase some wine for the holidays. When I went to pay I was charged a different price than what I was told by a rep. I went over to customer service and Lorri was wonderful! She honored the price I was originally given and gave me an added discount for the misinformation. She was more professional than a manager that I talked to briefly about the price I was quoted. I asked to speak to her Supervisor to let her know how wonderful Lorri was and that Lorri should be promoted to a manager's position. The Supervisor Fama was also very helpful and professional. I used to LOVE Total Wine but lately it has become very stressful to go to this store. The sales people are pushy, and sometimes rude about pushing their wine choices on you, even to the point of insulting your taste in wine if you like something else. When a customer says, "I'm ok, thank you", you should not be following them around pushing your wine choices on them. They have even gone so far as to look in my cart and insult wine choices I have made. Outside of that, the prices are very reasonable, especially if you use the "Pick 6" and get the 10% off. Management needs to reign in the pushy sales people, as many of my friends have stopped going to the store because of the stress they cause. read more

The name may be total wine but I find this place to be the best around for craft beer. Actually I've never bought wine here because they have such an amazing craft beer selection! All the employees are very helpful and will always check if you can't find something. They have tastings pretty frequently so it's always cool to check out and taste some new brews. They had good service in about 2018 or so (vintage year of customer service or something - lol). But the staff changed in 2019 and I don't recognize the faces. The customer service is different too. I don't know what's going on with management. But they usually almost always misrepresent the wines they have in-stock when you order online. If you order enough to get the 6+ bottle discount (10% off), missing a few bottles will take you out of the discount. So when I ordered, they misrepresented what they had (as usual) and took me out of the 10% discount and charged me a higher price (without my consent). They also put in random bottles of wine in my order (because they couldn't find the ones I wanted I guess - or maybe out of contempt - lol). It's actually criminal fraud to misrepresent something to induce someone to give you money like that. I would report to the FTC but the amount I'm losing isn't large enough etc. read more

My new favorite liquor store in my general area, followed by Shoppers Vineyard in Clifton, and Metro Liquors in Paterson Ave in East Rutherford. Hey, I go wherever I find the best prices for what I'm looking for. This place often has the lowest prices, and you're walking into a wonderland when it comes to presentation and selection. My only qualm is when you sign up with them for membership and wait in eager anticipation for the coupons, but then the coupons are for specific categories that are less your interest. (Like, "Hey, why can't I use this wine coupon on a single malt if I'm spending the same minimum requirement specified in the coupon?"). Bit of a bummer so far in that category, but still, highly recommended. If you're looking for more unique, higher-end bottles, then you'll have to do your research online. Craft beer and small batch bourbon drinkers need not to look elsewhere. This place is 5 min from my job and I come religiously every Friday after work to grab a drink on this specific day I was with my younger sister I asked one of the workers where a liquor was and she pointed to it and then came back and asked if both me and my sister had ID only I had my ID on me so we tell her that and she said she couldn't sell to me but I hadn't even bought anything I wasn't even by the cashier and she states both of us have to have ID in order to buy something in a aggressive tone then we were making our way out of the store and the woman ESCORTS us out as if I had stole something it was the ugliest feeling ever and WORST customer service I had ever experienced! I understand standing by company policies but there is a way to go about this and making people feel horrible about it is NOT the way she was taking advantage of us both being young and possibly ethnic. I've been a fan of the River Edge store since they opened. Great prices and selection. I don't like the move into the new building they built down the block. Horrible parking lot. Too narrow and when it is busy it is a zoo. The shared one entrance/exit driveway onto the busy street that leads you onto route 4 couldn't be more of a logistical nightmare. The first time I discovered this place, I got goosebumps and had to fight back the college kid in me that wanted to go to town like a fat kid in a candy store. Then, as I began to realize that this place was out in Jersey, I became indignant that there wasn't one closer to Queens! Nevertheless, it's always fun to make a visit when I'm in town. While I'm mostly into whiskeys, vodkas, and bourbons, I occasionally meander through the aisles without a clear purchase in mind. Last week, I assembled my first mix & match 6 pack, replete with various summer beers that seemed really interesting. The time before that, my fiancé and I decided to try a variety of Rosé wines. The possibilities are endless! I'm no connoisseur, but as far as I can tell, their prices are very reasonable. Because they are purchasing in such volume from distributors, they are able to pass on the savings to their customers, and they often do. They also have "buy in bulk" deals - buy 6 bottles of wine and get 10% off. The customer service is pretty solid and staff members are helpful. I was looking for a good $80 - $100 bottle of whiskey for my brother's birthday several months ago and one of the staff members helped me narrow it down to a couple choices. I eventually went with a 30yo Grangestone, which my brother and I both enjoyed. For far less pricier options, you do have to take their suggestions with a grain of salt because there are times when I feel like they make recommendations in order to push certain merchandise.
