I've only been here 2x so far but each time, an employee was always very knowledgeable, approachable and friendly. My first visit, I was looking for wine for a birthday party and since I don't drink, was completely clueless on what to buy or even where to start. The store itself has a huge selection and one of the employees (who approached me first) after hearing what I was looking for, was able to direct me to 3 different bottles. My second visit, I was looking for a specific wine for a friend's party. Once I showed the employee the photo, he knew what I was talking about and brought me to the section. However, the specific one I wanted, they didn't have it but he was able to offer me other options and showed me the section of organic wines that I was looking for. There is always plenty of free parking in front as the store is located in a huge strip mall and there was never a wait with checking out. Very happy with this store! read more

Improve the staff specifically the manager named : Ben. The most bizarre and childish specimen roaming the location. He's a representation of the business/ corporation which is actually scary because he needs an intervention on professionalism and customer interactions forthwith! Ben who claimed to be the store manager, on April 26, 2026 @ 12:58 p.m , was presented with a return from a purchase date of April 16, 2026 along with the Receipt. Ben asked me where the wine was stored prior to the return and advised it was in a home. Ben then stated he would only give me Store Credit for the return. I questioned Ben on the return policy as it was not listed on the receipt nor was the return policy posted in a conspicuous location. As policies must be posted at the register, entrance, or on the item itself to disclose time limits and fees. I explained to Ben that legally the return policy should be posted. Ben continued to state that the return policy does not have to be posted and if I want , I could speak to his Lawyers . I continued to state that it's legally mandatory for retail stores to conspicuously post their return policies. Failure to do so often triggers state-mandated return windows, requiring stores to accept returns within 20-30 days. Common required locations include at the entrance, near the register, or on the item itself. Ben was annoyed and alarmed by this information and then changed his obnoxious, paranoid, bizarre, awkward, unprofessional, possibly intoxicated behavior and decided to refund me the money. While processing the return he continued mumble and talk nonsense about his business card and how he was doing me A favor ! This place is tops for finding a good variety of wine with super helpful staff. Each time I found good choices and met nice people who pointed me toward good wine. Lots of 90 plus rated wines global and regional. Nice selection of Argentinian Malbec, California Cabernet, Long Island wines and some basic good Italians wines. Oh yes French too lol. I will never come here again! Not because the choices are bad but because the customer service was out of this world horrible. I can around Christmas time to buy a couple of gifts and birthday celebration items since my birthday is on New Year's Eve! I brought my boyfriend with me. I left him for 2 seconds to grab a bag for the bottle I was buying. After we leave he tells me that the a short older white women ask him how do you drink the Hennessy. Do you just hold it by the top and drink it like that? Mind you when i was paying there was tons of people buying liquor I didn't see her ask any one else how do you drink it. I'm happy coming here just for the bakery and fruits and veggies. Our Stop & Shop has a mediocre selection of produce, so coming here is a treat! The cheese section is terrific, and it's hard not to come home with something yummy. My wife loves the beer section, and always finds something interesting to bring home. DONT SHOW ITS IN STOCK OR THAT ORDER IS CONFIRMED__OR CHARGE ME before you know you can fulfill the order... and Im sorry, I must be confused on what an order CONFIRMATION IS. Maybe the story they rehearse should have been "sorry our employees wanted it more but forgot to take it off the shelf" or "sorry my regular who greases me for allocated bottles wanted it more" or even "sorry we forgot to mark it up 300% before we posted it online and sold it to you" Do yourselves a favor and don't put the allocated stuff online if its just going to be pulled off the shelves, avoid the issues. I guess that's why they call with the excuse too, nothing in an email. HMMMMMM..... They claim its their website having issues , or its was sold earlier in the day or some other B.S. excuse. Happened to my family 3 times in 2 months with 3 different reasons/excuses. You'd think they would try to make it right by offering a discount next time (which there wont be, and trust me I don't have my hand out nor is it me trying to get something for nothing) for the inconvenience and maybe to deter me from filing a complaint with the BBB and NYSLA, especially with all the bourbon investigations going on in other states right now. Well, first thing after entering we saw a table set up for tasting sangria. Oh boy, I say my favorite summer drink. We moseyed on over to the display and tried some. They had 2 flavors. Across the parking lot from the Stew Leonard's Fresh Farm Supermarket is their wine store. I decided to come by the wine store to pick up a gift for a friend and wine for a family dinner in a couple weeks. Entering the store the wines and spirits are separated by domestic and rare wines to the right, then foreign wines separated by countries in the center and liquors to the left. If you had difficulty finding something in particular, you can ask an associate and they are glad to help. We went on a weekend and the store had a couple of tables to sample wine and vodka. I was so glad to see they had the Kim Crawford Sauvignon from New Zealand. It was a great white wine my aunt and uncle had introduced me to a while ago. Prices are pretty reasonable and sometimes they have sales as well. I'll probably come back to look again if I'm in the area. read more

I came into this location looking for their Liquor, "Spirit," selection and I must say they don't have much of a selection when it comes to the different sizes for their liquors. They have more of the big pricey bottles instead of a wider size selection. If your looking for wines this is the place to come to.. What took me so long to check this place out? I'm not a wine-o but they have A LOT of wines to choose from all in different categories, by price point, region etc. The store itself is very large compared to other liquor stores. Not only do they have wines, but they also have a great selection of liquors that are easy to find fast. Prices are great and they also have sales and discounts on a lot of bottles. Definitely check this place out before your next party or if you need to grab a gift for someone. *Staff is also very nice and helpful* Can't wait for Stew's to open in January across the parking lot! When this store first opened I was so happy because of how close it is to my house. They have a vast selection of wines from around the world to choose from at some excellent prices. There hard liquor selection is a bit limited but if they don't have what you are looking for they can certainly get it. I suggest talking to Sean Conrad. I could easily spend hours perusing the labels of the multitude of regional and varietal selections they have. Prices are incredibly reasonable too. I think what truly sets Stews apart from other wine stores is their staff. These guys are true professionals and KNOW their wines inside and out. In speaking with a few of them, I've found out that some of them are actually sent to places like Italy to research different wineries to bring back for the store. How fucking cool is that and are you hiring?!? My favorite part about going to Stew Leonard's is the amazing tastings they do. Certain select wines are always available for tasting, but on the weekends they will feature various wineries and distilleries from both local and international locations. Wish so bad that this place was closer to home but it was definitely worth the trip! Cleanest and most organized liquor store I have ever been to. There are countless employees scattered all over the store, reorganizing, stocking and just there in case you need help or a sense of direction when choosing a product. The workers aren't overbearing either which I loved. There are typical sections for cabernet, chardonnay, yada yada and then they have sections for organic wine and sections separated by region. The prices are the same or cheaper than the majority of liquor stores I have visited in the past. The wine keys they sell here are also AWESOME. $5 and they have purple and yellow, COOL! Today I happened to leave my cell phone at the counter while checking out and the cashier actually sprinted out to the parking lot to find me to make sure she got it to me before I drove away! I moved from Farmingdale to Queens in 2005 and I've been coming back to this store on a regular basis ever since. Between the affordable quality wines, great selection of local (Long Island, Finger Lakes) wines, and amazing tastings, I LOVE THIS PLACE. They have mead from the Long Island Meadery. Do I need to go on? Every tasting is like an education on variety, terroir, vineyard, vintage... not to mention drinks beyond wine! One night I randomly walked in and received an extensive education on sake via an extensive free tasting flight. The staff are great. They don't harass you, and don't push you towards the most expensive wines on the rack. On top of wines, they have a fantastic selection of other drinks as well. Its funny to see how they have tequilas that range between the finest Añejos and Tortilla tequila. The only downside is they seem to stick to the brands they always have and don't really venture out to bring in new wines from tiny little places. Worth a trip if you have a car.
