Local Brazilian steakhouse. We came here for family day lunch and overall service was great but food was rather monotoned. Not much variety of steak cuts of mainly tri-tip and rib cuts but meat really were under seasoned/ needed dry aging as only seasoning on outside.

Greater expectations.. I did some research & mapped out a gameplan as to how I was gonna attack it. I wanted to try all the meats before deciding on which meats I really wanted to dig deep on !! once it began.. it was complete shock and awe , it was just meats after meats after meats. but was it good ? To be honest, not everything was a home run. Let's start with the bad things first .. * I did not eat any of the chicken offerings : because why the heck would I bother eating chicken at a steakhouse ?? LOL .. however my table of guests did tell me the Moroccan chicken wasn't great as it was too dry but they told me the bacon wrapped chicken was really good. * also I was anticipating their signature picana to be better, it wasn't bad , but it wasn't mind blowing either. A little bit disappointed. * I was most let down by this amazing looking cheese steak with cheese punctured into it.. ultimately, it just didn't match the visual impact. I was hoping for it to have a nice complex flavor, but it was actually the total opposite. It was dry and tasted like.. yuck !! * the seafood in the salads and stand alone side dishes were definitely hit and miss.. some tasted really good and yet other things tasted a little mushy ( not the freshest ) but other seafood options which had a sauce didn't fare much better as it was too salty. However the mussels stand alone side dish had good flavor, but wished all of them had actually opened * the bread plates had a nice variety but were on the dry side , it might be nice if they had offered some spreads or maybe something simple like some BUTTER to help out a bit. * The meats were of decent quality but I found it to be quite heavy handed on the seasoning aka SALT and not so heavily handed on pepper and spice. but some meats were soooo good it didn't even require any of the sauces ( bbq or chimichurri ) You might wonder why I am giving this place 3 - 4 stars with all those things mentioned above.. but honestly there was some bright spots * the service is great , the waitresses are very accommodating and they will listen and get things done for you if you have any special meat requests. A man like me : knows what I want , so don't be BETA!! don't be scared to ask for directions LOL or for her number .. or in this case .. what kind of meat you want to eat because you haven't seen it come by !! BE ALPHA!! don't sit there and wait for it to happen: you make things happen & it will happen. Trust me ! Pro tip #1 you can ask for the type of meat you want to eat even if you don't see it & you can ask them if they can bring that type of meat more medium rare if that is to your liking!! * the best meats in my opinion : top sirloin , beef ribs , leg of lamb , garlic steak , sorry I wasn't able to take pictures of it , it was just simply too good to waste time ! * the one thing that never came to the table was pork ribs , I had to ask for it and when it came , it was doused in bbq sauce and FALL OFF THE FKn BONE !! God damn they were sooo good .. I ate nearly 2 full racks of ribs !! * the dessert menu is fairly reasonably priced and the visual aspects definitely match the flavor profiles. Super delicious * the restaurant is clean & bright and well kept, the servers are polite and attentive, and the meat cutters are just mindless meat zombies that keep it simple by asking you If you would like to try something they have to offer All in all , it's definitely not better than copacabana , the price point of nearly 70 bucks per person on a Friday is a bit hefty but still worth it if you are an avid meat eater. if they were able to balance out the seasoning of the meats a bit better in the kitchen and had better grill masters making sure the food wasnt overcooked ( steak & pork parmesan ), things wouldn't taste all the same but still overall it was a good experience. 3.5 stars from me

Touro Brazilian steakhouse have just opened their second location right within the Vaughan Mills complex. Starting with the location itself, the interior is quite nice, major demolition and renovations have taken place here compared to the previous restaurant that was here (Autostrada). The restaurant follows the original theme of their main location in Richmond Hill, but with smaller space, darker dimmed lights, no live trees, but cooler light fixtures! Service needs some work, I understand that it's a new beginning and there will be a lot of picking and choosing going forward probably, but the servers seem not to know much about drinks and/or some of the food items. Also, the steak servers kept messing up the names of the cuts they are serving, this happened quite few times. The appetizers' buffet is a must 'by default' at any good brazilian steakhouse, this restaurant surely has one but it's probably the worst I have seen across all brazilian restaurants i've been to, and I have been to ALOT around the world. It only has some ingredients to make your salad, no deli what so ever, no cheese selection, no rice, some veggies, beef stroganoff, and pasta, plus one lonely cold type of soup! As for their steak cuts, there was only about ten cuts total, with the absence of any prime cuts. For example, since there are only so many meats, They kept serving us pork sausage, literally about 8-10 times. There is some chicken items, no seafood items. The flavours are 'ok' and certainly don't come close to other big players in this league across the city, portions are generous, but don't really matter if they're missing flavours!

There are 2 locations north of Toronto, north essentially the same. It a large open space with tables far enough apart that you don't feel like you're sitting right next to strangers. There are a few appetizers like the cheese bread and some grilled vegetables. These are bland and have no real flavour. Their corn bread, however, is fantastic. The meat variety is good. Of course, they have picanha (a Brazilian cut of meat), Parmesan sirloin steak, sausage, chicken, grilled pineapple, shrimp, and others. They have beans and rice too. The staff walk around constantly and offer food. They're friendly and are happy to give you an extra piece of meat if that's the one you really like. These reason for 4 stars is that its nearly impossible to get meat that's prepared medium or well done. Not all my family likes rare/medium rare, and while it's possible to request well done, it takes 15-20 minutes to get 2 little pieces of meat by which time you're ready for more and have to wait another 15-20 minutes. This, while all the others are busily eating.

The space is lively and the service is attentive, which makes the experience enjoyable. As for the food, the variety is decent, and the meats are generally well-seasoned and flavorful. I especially liked the grilled pineapple -- it was juicy and nicely caramelized. However, if you're not a fan of cinnamon, this might not be your favorite, as the flavor is quite noticeable. Overall, it's a good experience and worth trying at least once, but in terms of variety and overall balance, I personally still lean towards Copacabana.

Not my first visit to Scaddabush Richmond Hill, but it had been quite some time since my last one…read more This return visit ended up being memorable for a few unexpected mishaps, though thankfully the overall experience was still a positive one. I called the day before right when they opened to make a reservation since the online system showed no availability. The staff member who took my call was incredibly friendly and thorough. In addition to the usual questions about party size, time, name, and phone number, they also asked how many children would be joining us, whether anyone had allergies, if we were celebrating a special occasion, and informed me in advance about the automatic gratuity for larger parties as well as the two-hour seating limit. I really appreciated how comprehensive they were. Fast forward to dinner... Parking in the plaza was absolute chaos. It took us quite a while to find spots, though that's not entirely surprising given how many popular restaurants are in the plaza. I'm sure the FIFA match that evening didn't help either. We were seated at what I'd describe as a "cozy" table. It wasn't cramped, but it definitely felt snug for our group. Thankfully, it ended up working out because we were sharing most dishes and the staff were fantastic about promptly clearing empty plates as we finished sharing dishes. We started with the Caesar salad, the Prosciutto & Mozzarella, and a Three Meat Pizza. The Caesar salad was well dressed with great flavour, while the mozzarella was, as always, a crowd favourite. I was pleasantly surprised by the focaccia, which was much crispier than I was expecting (I've never had it toasted like that before), with a wonderfully buttery flavour. The pizza was also excellent, not overly salty, with a chewy crust and a perfectly crisp exterior. For my main, I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, which was delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauce was well balanced, and nothing was overly salty. I also ordered the Rosemary Garlic Fries, which were tasty, although I do wish they had served a bit more aioli since that's what really elevates the dish. I also stole a few bites of other entrées around the table. The Vodka Pasta wasn't what I'd consider a traditional vodka sauce, as it leaned much more toward a creamy Alfredo, but it had a nice kick of spice. The standout for me, however, was the Shrimp Lemon Pasta. It was absolutely delicious, and I'd easily order that as my main on my next visit. Since we were celebrating my aunt's birthday, the staff surprised her with a chocolate cake topped with colourful sprinkles and a sparkler. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a lovely way to end the meal. Now for the memorable mishaps. The most alarming occurred when an employee accidentally knocked over one of the decorative jars filled with beans. It shattered as soon as it hit the floor, sending glass and beans underneath our table. We stayed still because we knew shards had scattered around our feet, and I was wearing shorts, so I could actually feel some of the debris around my legs. My biggest concern came when my mom mentioned she felt something brush against her neck, but thankfully she wasn't injured. The employee was incredibly apologetic and immediately stayed behind to thoroughly clean everything up. We all stepped away from the table to make sure every piece of glass could be safely swept up before sitting back down. The second near mishap happened when our server returned carrying full glass bottles of water. One slipped from her hand and hit the table, but thankfully she managed to keep hold of it before it shattered or knocked anything over. Despite those unexpected moments, our server was wonderful throughout the evening. She was attentive, friendly, and especially diligent about ensuring the allergy at our table was handled appropriately. Accidents happen, and while these certainly made for a memorable dinner, I appreciated how professionally the staff handled each situation and how well they continued to take care of us afterward.

We had a reservation for 6:15PM, but did have to wait a bit while our table was being set up. Not a huge deal though as they actually have a little waiting area with a popcorn machine, which I thought was super cute and thoughtful. That said... we were here for seafood, so we had to hold ourselves back from snacking too much on popcorn LOL. We went on a Thursday, so we took advantage of their $50 for 50 oysters (with purchase of an entrée). Easily the best part of the experience from a value standpoint. While a good portion of the oysters were fresh, there were definitely a few that were noticeably off. Not just "less fresh," but the kind of bites that make you pause and immediately wanting to spit it out. It kind of takes away from the experience when you're second-guessing each one. We started with the ahi tuna tartare and individual cups of clam chowder. The tartare was decent, but lacked that extra punch or acidity to really make it stand out. The chowder, on the other hand, was surprisingly well done; generous clam pieces with that distinct briny, ocean flavour you only get from real seafood. It tasted authentic, not overly thick, and actually let the ingredients shine. For mains, I ordered the lobster mac & cheese, while my coworkers got the lobster & shrimp tagliatelle. The mac & cheese was creamy and cheesy, but leaned heavily toward pasta over lobster. I only found a few small pieces, mostly from the claw. It felt more like a standard mac & cheese with lobster added in after the fact rather than something cooked together cohesively. Not quite what I had in mind. I also tried a few bites of the tagliatelle; there was flavour there, but it needed salt to bring everything forward. As it stood, the flavours felt muted and a bit hidden. That said, shoutout to our server, Edward, who really helped elevate the experience. Super attentive, gave solid recommendations, and suggested a bottle of Oyster Bay Chardonnay to pair with the oysters, which ended up being a hit. Overall, this is a spot that's worth visiting for the specials alone, but the execution across dishes is a bit uneven. Good, not great, and I'd be more inclined to return strategically rather than for the full menu experience.

I think the mains here were kind of a miss in terms of flavour. A few things they can improve on imo: Oysters 5/5 - These were amazing and a hit. They served up 2 different options for us that were fresh and great. One entree purchase = you can order 50 oysters for $50. If you want another 50 oysters you'll have to purchase another entree. Caesar 3/5 - Caesars are my go to drinks, but this wasn't that great. The olives it came with were super salty, not enough depth in the drink. The oyster on top of my drink was also very salty. Not a well rounded cocktail. Sourdough 3.5/5 - This was a good filler, nothing too crazy or special. Came served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Fried calamari 3.5/5 - Great for sharing. Battered with chickpea flour and served with tzatziki. Lobster pasta 2.5/5 - This had a nice amount of lobster in here, but the sauce was odd. It kind of tasted like blended pumpkin in this sauce. Looked better than it tasted. Fries 4/5 - This was great and a nice addition to the oysters. Seasoned vegetables 3/5 - Standard vegetables. Lots of butter on them. Overall, I think the oysters are great if you're here for that. Definitely why I come back. But the mains can use some work.

We ordered two simple drinks (wine with soda) and were shocked to be charged $56, while the menu states $20 per glass. We wanted to ask the bartender, but he was not at the bar. We had to wait multiple times just to get his attention. When he finally came back, he gave us one bill instead of two. After asking again, we received separate bills, where we noticed a "coke" charge we never ordered - I assume this is how soda was charged, but no one explained this. I expected standard bar soda, not an extra charge. Gratuity was also automatically added without any clear notice. The menu only says "Prices do not include taxes and gratuities," which does not mean it will be added automatically. Also, i ordered the wine directly from the bartender, without menu. From a customer perspective, this is misleading. In Ontario, pricing and additional charges are expected to be clearly communicated in advance, and that did not happen here. When I asked the bartender for clarification, he couldn't explain anything and just walked away. We asked for a manager - a woman came out, did not introduce herself, did not speak English, and avoided communicating with us entirely. She spoke with the staff on different languages, so we cannot understand her. Instead of properly resolving the situation, she threw cash on the bar (the refunded gratuity) without any explanation, which felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. Then another guy came, did not introduce himself either, and when I tried to explain that this is not about the money but about the attitude, he said he "didn't have time" and walked away to hug a girl at the entrance. At that point, it honestly felt like we were intruding in someone's private space rather than being customers in a public establishment. We came to relax and enjoy a glass of wine after a long day, but instead ended up with a completely ruined evening. Would not recommend.

This was absolutely not the case, after we sat down and finished our apps the dinner took over an hour to arrive. All the guests were starving. When the food came it was family sharing style and not nearly enough for our table. It was embarrassing for how much they charged for this dinner. Then they took forever to bring our friends cake out and we didn't even get plates until much later. Our friend was so upset, we decided to leave and didn't have the cake there. Now to get to the open bar lie. We prepaid for open bar but when people ordered drinks they would either take forever to arrive or never come at all. The waitress would take the order, write something down and not come back. My husband only had two drinks and had to wait over an hour for them. I didn't even drink! I have never heard of this kind of arrangement before and we were not told of any kind of count /maximum. The owner was extremely rude to our party and regarding the open bar. The prices listed below reflect the regular menu, though portions at the event were likely smaller than standard service. The evening began with a beef skewer ($31), featuring cubes of barbecued beef glazed in teriyaki and topped with plenty of chives. Unfortunately, consistency was an issue. Other guests raved about how tender theirs were, while mine arrived overcooked. It wasn't inedible, but it certainly wasn't tender. One of the restaurant's newer additions is its aged fish program, so I was eager to try the dry-aged salmon ($33). Listed as a "crudo," I expected delicate slices in a citrusy sauce, but it arrived as another skewer. The texture was undeniably smooth, with the dry aging removing any chewiness, but the salmon also developed a gaminess that lingered unpleasantly. A marinade or thinner slicing might help balance things out. I'm glad their signature Caesar salad ($24) remains excellent. It's beautifully balanced with acidity, savouriness, and thoughtful touches like buttery breadcrumbs and bacon bits that aren't rock hard. It's still one of the better Caesars in the city, though tableside preparation now costs an additional $10. Fans of tartare will likely appreciate the beef tartare ($41), which is prepared traditionally with minimally dressed hand-cut beef. Personally, I wanted more contrast in texture or flavour, though tartare has never been my go-to dish. I did appreciate the accompaniments of buttery crostini and gem lettuce leaves, which offered a lighter way to enjoy it. And for fans like me, don't worry their cheese bread puffs still make an appearance (along with their take home chocolate muffins). What continues to shine at Jacobs is the steak itself. The 40-day dry aged striploin was cooked beautifully, developing a crust that locked in the juices while maintaining tenderness despite being a leaner cut. The seasoning is more restrained, which allowed the volcanic sea salt and chimichurri on the side to actually enhance the beef rather than overwhelm it. The pecorino broccolini ($22) had me almost finishing off the plate and is such a nice accompaniment with the rich beef. The only disappointment was the duck fat fries ($21), which arrived lukewarm and slightly stale, likely a casualty of serving a packed dining room. Dessert ended the evening on a high note. The crème brulee ($21) was fantastic with visible vanilla bean specks throughout the silky custard. The sugar topping was thin and delicate, avoiding that overly sweet crunch some versions suffer from. Served alongside a sizeable chocolate biscotti and a fragrant orange shortbread cookie, it's easily large enough to share. With the expanded dining room, the front-of-house team has clearly grown as well. The staff is younger and fresher-faced, so any old-school steakhouse stuffiness has largely disappeared. More importantly, the service remains polished and attentive, and we were well taken care of throughout the evening.
