I came here on a weekday dinner with coworkers and honestly, it was such a solid seafood spot in Markham. We had a reservation for 6:15PM, but did have to wait a bit while our table was being set up. Not a huge deal though as they actually have a little waiting area with a popcorn machine, which I thought was super cute and thoughtful. That said... we were here for seafood, so we had to hold ourselves back from snacking too much on popcorn LOL. We went on a Thursday, so we took advantage of their $50 for 50 oysters (with purchase of an entrée). Easily the best part of the experience from a value standpoint. While a good portion of the oysters were fresh, there were definitely a few that were noticeably off. Not just "less fresh," but the kind of bites that make you pause and immediately wanting to spit it out. It kind of takes away from the experience when you're second-guessing each one. We started with the ahi tuna tartare and individual cups of clam chowder. The tartare was decent, but lacked that extra punch or acidity to really make it stand out. The chowder, on the other hand, was surprisingly well done; generous clam pieces with that distinct briny, ocean flavour you only get from real seafood. It tasted authentic, not overly thick, and actually let the ingredients shine. For mains, I ordered the lobster mac & cheese, while my coworkers got the lobster & shrimp tagliatelle. The mac & cheese was creamy and cheesy, but leaned heavily toward pasta over lobster. I only found a few small pieces, mostly from the claw. It felt more like a standard mac & cheese with lobster added in after the fact rather than something cooked together cohesively. Not quite what I had in mind. I also tried a few bites of the tagliatelle; there was flavour there, but it needed salt to bring everything forward. As it stood, the flavours felt muted and a bit hidden. That said, shoutout to our server, Edward, who really helped elevate the experience. Super attentive, gave solid recommendations, and suggested a bottle of Oyster Bay Chardonnay to pair with the oysters, which ended up being a hit. Overall, this is a spot that's worth visiting for the specials alone, but the execution across dishes is a bit uneven. I think the mains here were kind of a miss in terms of flavour. A few things they can improve on imo: Oysters 5/5 - These were amazing and a hit. They served up 2 different options for us that were fresh and great. One entree purchase = you can order 50 oysters for $50. If you want another 50 oysters you'll have to purchase another entree. Caesar 3/5 - Caesars are my go to drinks, but this wasn't that great. The olives it came with were super salty, not enough depth in the drink. The oyster on top of my drink was also very salty. Not a well rounded cocktail. Sourdough 3.5/5 - This was a good filler, nothing too crazy or special. Came served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Fried calamari 3.5/5 - Great for sharing. Battered with chickpea flour and served with tzatziki. Lobster pasta 2.5/5 - This had a nice amount of lobster in here, but the sauce was odd. It kind of tasted like blended pumpkin in this sauce. Looked better than it tasted. Fries 4/5 - This was great and a nice addition to the oysters. Seasoned vegetables 3/5 - Standard vegetables. Lots of butter on them. Overall, I think the oysters are great if you're here for that. Definitely why I come back. But the mains can use some work. read more

This has been a long standing restaurant that we have always wanted to go but never got the chance to. We finally managed to go. Ambiance - 4/5: it is a large place with ample seatings. However, you will need to reserve well in advance and indicate specifically if you want to be seated in the front or near the back. Service - 3.5/5: We went on a Thursday for a 5:30pm booking. At first, it was relatively empty but it soon filled up very quickly. We were seated promptly. Seating limit is 1hr 45 mins. Our servers changed twice. While they did check up on us, we had to ask for our waters to be refilled twice. Food - 3.5/5: we got the Gold platter. It is 50 oysters but we cannot choose the type of oysters. With every 50 oysters, we must choose a main. We ordered 100 oysters. And since we can't choose, they were all PEI oysters. It's my first experience with raw oysters. I just noticed that it was very salty. The lemon cuts through the saltiness just a little bit. I didn't try the rest of the sauces offered. I was told the hot sauce packs some heat. It looks like mango harbanaro but I could be wrong. Kt xomes out yellow. I got a lot of sand in the oysters (or that's what I think it is). However, my family thinks it may be broken pieces of shell during the shucking process. The ice under the oysters melted quickly for us despite us eating the oysters pretty quickly. Maybe because we sat near the front of the restaurant. For our 2 mains, we ordered seafood linguine and chicken parmesan. Initially we wanted the fish and chips but they were sold out if the fish. The 2 mains are ok. The sauce is the same, with the seafood linguine more prominent. The seafood was cooked to perfection. Pro tip: order the osyters first. You have tome to order the mains later. Since they shick the oysters to ordèr, it can take them awhile. Overall: 3.75/5 - if I come back, I would come back on maybe a Wednesday when each oyster cost $1.50 to try other types of oysters read more

Came here for dinner last night for the first time. I've known about this place for a long time but never had the opportunity to. Come. I knew of the restaurant as there original location is on Lawrence where I used to live but never had the chance to try that location either. I'm guess I'm not huge fan of raw oysters so that's probably why it's taken me this long to finally try thisplace. What attracted to me to finally come was their seafood menu which has a good selection of dishes that I like such as the clam chowder, crab cakes, and a variety of fish and seafood entrees. The restaurant was very spacious and comfortable seatings. Al in all we thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the food was fantastic from start to finish. We started with the lobster chowder and crab cakes and both items were definitely a5/5...and both my husband and I got their Special fish of the day which was Miso cod. It was absolutely amazing. The fish was so fresh and sweet and the Miso flavouring was just perfect! It's too bad this item is not on their regular dinner menu because we likely be back often if this was a regular item but it does give us reassurance that the other main entreesshould be tasty too. I'll have to come back to try more main dishes to evaluate. I would definitely come back and to try their raw oysters. Came here on a Wednesday to have the $1.50 a shuck deal. I did call ahead to confirm which pasta dishes contained alcohol (due to an allergy) - they indicating the lobster and shrimp tagliatelle was safe. Our waitress was great. She did confirm with the kitchen and one we were told was okay was in fact not. However she did suggest the clams pasta and she had the request to not have it made with alcohol. Overall everyone was pleasant. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. The food came at a reasonable speed. The food overall was meh, nothing outstanding. Lacked umami. For the price you would think we would be raving. Branzino had so many bones in it - it was just annoying to eat. If I was to ever come back it would be strictly for the oysters. read more

Waiting quite long for our mains and finally come after 30-40 mins wait. And the clam pasta is completely plain. We sent back the clam pasta. No one told us that replacing it with another main was a mandatory condition to keep our promo discount. We then sat there wait for checkout and then we were told we had to buy a secound main dish. Because we couldn't wait fo their slow kitchen to cook a new order from scratch, they literally handed us a takeout box prepared for another table and said this is our most expensive pasta. Instead of taking accountability for bad food, a chaotic management, and a bad attitude, the manager lecturing us on dining etiquette. We had a mixed experience at lunch at this Markham Diana's Seafood location. I would have given a 2.5 if half points were available. Appetizers and mains were ordered. The restaurant was not full but we ended up waiting a long time for our meals. There was a long gap between the apps and mains. My friends liked the grilled calamari, tuna salad and steak sandwich. My hubby enjoyed his pasta special. I did enjoy the chowder but I was unimpressed with the fish and chips. The chips were ok but the fish was two pieces of haddock heavily battered. We visited Diana's Seafood (Markham location) tonight and overall the experience was disappointing. The food was mediocre -- not terrible, but definitely not worth the price or the hype. The most frustrating part of the night was the issue with gift cards. Before coming in, I specifically called ahead to ask if we could use Diana's gift cards at this location, and the person who answered the phone told me yes. However, when we went to pay, we were told the gift cards were only valid at the other Diana's location, and they could not accept them here. We were understandably annoyed but still paid the bill. After that, I asked to speak with the manager, and honestly the customer service from the manager was shockingly poor. She came over very reluctantly and her attitude was dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of acknowledging the situation or apologizing for the misinformation we were given over the phone, she basically brushed it off and told us they split from the other Diana's location nine years ago. That may be true, but it doesn't excuse the fact that staff are still telling customers over the phone that gift cards can be used here. The way the manager handled it showed zero accountability and no real concern for customer experience. I do want to mention that our actual server was great -- friendly, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, the poor food quality combined with the manager's attitude completely ruined the experience. Location: Woodbine north of Steeles in a big building that's shared with an Italian restaurant. Parking: There's lots of free parking but it's kind of tight on weekends if both places are busy. The place: I like it inside. They have changed things up a couple times over the years but it's always very nice. I think it's a terrific date place if you both like seafood. We have been to the Scarborough location many times so wanted to try the Markham location because we were in the area. Restaurant from the outside looks small but it is massive inside..and the decor is nice. We had a booth in the back but the seats seemed far from the table so for smaller people like us, we had to sit right at the edge of the seats. Oysters and Ceviche were amazing. Super fresh and well balanced. Wife had the sea bass which was well cooked and had a very fresh taste. I had the lobster pasta which was good but after many bites it became too rich. I wish the sauce had less cream because with the fresh seafood that should be the star. Service was very good and attentive. Value for the money I had to deduct 1 star. I know good quality seafood equates to a higher price but throw in some fresh bread or something. The last time we went to Diana's was pre-Covid and it was great, this time it was just okay. I am a fan of Oysters and enjoyed the most of dishes. I had a severe health issue after Oyster and fish dinner during the Christmas time. I thought I had my own issue. However, my son had same issue on middle of January after oysters and family dinner at the Diana's. I believe there must some hygiene issues when Kitchen staffs treat Oyster or selection of Oyster itself. Disappointed is a understatement. Me and my boyfriend came here tonight for dinner and unfortunately the food was not good at all. We ordered the altlantic salmon and seafood orzo and fried calamari. All three dishes were disappointing. The calamari was small and had no taste for the dill sauce. The Atlantic salmon was super over cooked with no taste (super bland) with the veggies being super undercooked to the point that I was only able to finish the salmon only after asking the waitress for salt, pepper, sauce and that still didn't help with the bland taste. As I mentioned in my previous review, Diana's Oyster Bar & Grill is my most favorite oyster bar in the GTA. I also mentioned I always visit them during the winter months, as the oysters are in season and much fattier. The first thing I notice is Belon oyster is back on the menu after not available for two years (waitress told me). I am super excited, as I am a huge Belon oyster fans. For those of you who haven't try Belon oyster before, the sweetness and taste of one Belon oyster is stronger than having a dozen of Malpeque or Fanny Bay oysters in my opinion. When pair with their promotion Chardonnay, the Belon oyster aftertaste lasted for hours. For all your Belon fans, don't miss out this opportunity. As Belon is seasonal and not common elsewhere. I also ordered their Fish & Chips and I wasn't expecting to be this good. Their Fish & Chips is the best I had in the GTA. The fish batter is super thin and crispy. The Haddock fillet inside is light, moist, and fluffy. The Coleslaw is perfectly blended, which is not too sour but enough to clean your palate. Plus, their frying oil is very clean compared to other fish and chips places. The only downside is their fries, which is much worse than McDonalds. Overall, I love this place and I am keep coming back every winter season. read more

The interior is very spacious with lots of tables and booth seatings. There is a decent-sized bar with TV screens near the back of the restaurant. The seafood is average - decent but nothing out of the ordinary or something makes you go 'wow'. The portion size of sides that come with the Boiled Whole Lobster is bigger than the portion size of sides that come with the other main dishes. Service is alright but kind of lacking in attention at times. There was a pretty big time gap between when different main dishes came out, and it was a bit hard to get someone's attention when we needed to get something. read more

One of my fave spots for oysters. Definitely a great spot for good quality oysters and loving the $1.00 oysters (select oysters). Always fresh and so good! Mostly come here for the oysters but I enjoy going for lunch instead of dinner. Service here is very friendly and following COVID protocol (wearing mask, etc). I feel safe while dining here and people are well spaced out. Overall restaurant and washrooms are clean as well. I definitely will be back when indoor dining returns. I think it would have been a solid 3.5 - r stars. It was harder to gauge because things were all good. Not great but nothing bad. We were a table of 10 so it must have been harder for our waitress. She was great at her job. The inside of the restaurant is huge and comfortable. The washrooms were clean. So nothing much to complain about. We got a little bit of everything. Kids meals were great. Diana's has been a popular western seafood restaurant in Markham for a very long time. Yet this was my first time to visit this establishment. It starts with a lounge for quick bites and drinks and then leads into a larger dining area with plenty of seating. We got in for a late seating (8pm) on a weekday and so there were very little people and service was great! The décor was aptly nautical themed with lots of sea shells, glass, nets, etc. Oyster deal (Honeymoons) - They have a dozen east cost oyster deal for $24 with the purchase of a drink from each member of the party. You are only allowed to choose one type of oyster for the dozen and not allowed to mix and match within the dozen. Although we were not allowed to try them all, this leads to some very interesting experiments. We could look at the consistency across the same type of oysters. After consuming 1/2 a dozen it was interesting to note that 2 of them did not have a briny flavour at all, and it kinda tasted like the tail end of tap water :/. The rest were briny juicy, these seemed okay. In the end, no digestive track issues, so all in all pretty fresh. Just two had weird taste. Next it came with 4 different sauces: lemon, horseradish, cocktail sauce and red wine vinaigrette. The lemon was dry and didn't have much juice. I don't like horseradish so didn't try it. The cocktail sauce was okay, but not sure why horseradish was added to ruin the sauce... and the red wine vinaigrette did not blend properly, the vinegar and the red wine had its own flavour and did not coexist well. Clam chowder - I have high standards for clam chowders after a week long visit to New England. This one felt like a cream soup from a HK café with seafood mixed in. Very little seafood taste, although you do see lots of seafood in it. Soup was thick but very smooth, like it was thickened with potato starch as opposed to cooking potatoes for a long time, or the use of a different potato. I'd prefer a soup that's more coarse where the potato slowly emits starch as it breaks down from cooking. There were croutons in the soup that was super crunchy and worked very well with the soup. Other than the 3 croutons, I would not recommend. Rockfellers - These baked oysters came loaded with toppings. The oyster as a whole was disappointing as baking it made it lose its ocean flavour. The additional toppings was a good attempt to bring out the oyster's flavour as it had little to no seasoning, and a bit of panko flakes to add a crunch to the texture. Unfortunately, the lack of flavour from the oyster itself meant that the entire thing was under seasoned. Mussels in house sauce - Wow the house sauce was amazing and very tasty in small quantities. The mussels themselves were a bit small, the size you'd see at the supermarket. The sauce was delicious, but when scoop it up with the mussel shell to eat with the mussel it was too salty. I hope that next time the sauce would be seasoned less. For $20, I don't think it was worth it, but 1/2 price on Wedensday, it was okay. Seafood Pilaf - Similar to the house sauce the seafood pilaf had an amazing mix of spices. Unfortunately, it was too heavily seasoned for me to enjoy the delicate flavours of the seafood. Otherwise, the texture of the rice was good, there was also a good amount of seafood. The large shrimps were huge and delicious. But considering the dish as a whole, I cannot recommend it. I had heard good things about this place and it being tied to Diana's seafood market on Eglington meant high quality seafood. Indeed, it felt like the restaurant did serve high quality seafood. I would give this a 3 1/2. I've been here before but went again recently. Diana's is known for their seafood, but I just don't find it as good as other seafood restaurants I've been to. Their prices are also on the higher side. We tried the seafood pilaf and the ahi tuna with ceasar salad. Both were okay. The seafood pilaf wasn't anything spectacular and the ahi tuna was a little bland. We did, however, enjoy the $1 oyster deal they have going on. For dine in, you can get $1 oysters with the purchase of a drink. For takeout, you have to get an appetizer. This runs any day of the week. They have a lot of seating indoors and some outdoors. We were lucky enough to get patio seating on a sunny day. Service is great. Very friendly and they check in frequently. Would probably come back just for the buck a shuck! read more

I was here a couple of times, the oysters are delicious of course. They are fresh, and come with three toppings excluding bourse radish, which I found to be an excellent compliment to the variety of oysters served. I came with a party of 6, where gratuity is auto. I waiting for my part to arrive for about 20 minutes, no server to see if I wanted a drink. Two of my friends arrived, and so did the waiter 15 minutes after. We ordered our first round of drinks, and which come quickly. But our second set of friend arrived and we waiting again for another chance to order drinks. This eating game kept happening the entire experience. When all of our party was at the table, it took almost another 30 minutes for the server to come for our order. At the end we wanted one last order or 2 dozen oysters, and some fried rice (do not order this item here, it's terrible!) we waiting for yet another 30 minutes, then asked to cancel the order, the waiter said they just started shucking it, so that's no possible. Then he said "what do you want me to do, we're short!" That's fine. But the auto gratuity, I had to tip $60 for our $300 meal for this terrible service where Half my time was spent waiting, and getting a side of attitude from this waiter (who was been here every time I've been to this restaurant). The food is definitely not worth it. Absolutely unacceptable. We will not be dining here again. Ahi tuna tartrate was pretty good. While the tuna was good, there was a bit too much onion in the avocado. The accompanying yuca chips were pretty good though they were salted unevenly. Got a cup of clam chowder. It was pretty good: tasty & with a good amount of clams. It came with croutons instead of the usual crackers, which was interesting. Got a Lobster & Crab roll with fries. The roll was so-so - the lobster being cut by crab was one thing & still acceptable, but it was also cut with vegetables which spoiled the texture. The fries were heartily fried - slightly overcooked but many were still tender inside. The accompanying slaw was weird: there was a strong onion taste but little else & it was rather raw tasting, probably because the vegetables were cut too big. Got a side of gravy which was superb - it was rich & flavourful. Had a ferrero rocher cheesecake - their cheesecake is not from the Cheesecake Factory anymore (the menu hasn't been updated). It was in the shape of a tart & was rather dry. The flavour was rather muted. read more

I've been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and the food did not disappoint. I don't think oysters are in season right now, but they still managed to carry an assortment of oysters and some are pretty decently sized. They do have a buck a shuck on Tuesdays and Thursdays if you order a beverage (including non-alcohol), but it's only applicable to the least expensive type of oyster. I enjoyed all of the food, except the mussels are quite small (see last picture for reference). Compared to other reviews, I think our server performed sufficiently well, they weren't super friendly, but they weren't rude either. I have been craving lobster for a while. The other day, I looked at my social feed and saw a meal special for two people. You have been warned if you get in my way when I see seafood and I run you down to get some. It's not personal. I am goal-oriented! I have driven by this Diana's location in Markham countless times. I used to dine frequently around this plaza over a decade ago. The restaurant to the left of Diana's main entrance used to serve Italian food. The restaurant behind Diana's used to be Remington's Steakhouse, which I frequented often and loved. Last Saturday, while I was out running errands and getting groceries, I decided to order takeout from Diana's. I called and a nice woman took my order. I got the $45 meal special. She let me know that besides Sapporo, I could also get Guinness. I asked if I could get a can each. Yes! I called an hour before my pickup time. It worked out well. As expected, there was plenty of parking in front of the main entrance. I backed into the spot and walked towards the restaurant. There are posters of the takeout and delivery menu on the windows. They are hand-written and clear. I walked in and looked like a tourist taking photos. The woman who took my order over the phone said hi. I stated my name and said that I was picking up my order. You can tell that this place is a bar. Not only did I see it in person, but the woman asked her male counterpart whether my Sapporo and Guinness beers were cold and packed up. The man came over with two bags. He told me to be careful with the one in his right hand. It had the clam chowder. Yes, I have to protect the chowder. Heck, my entire order needed to be handled with care! I paid using a debit card. He disinfected and wiped down the payment machine before handing it over to me. It does not accept tap, so you do need to slide your card, enter your PIN, and press a few options. I put down a tip. It makes sense these days when restaurants don't offer table service. He was nice chatting with me. He still found it weird to sell booze with takeout. Although I feel the same way, it's nice and I like it. He wished me a great evening and hoped that I'd come again soon. I thanked him and told him to take care. I then took care of my food and carefully put it in my car before driving home. I started to unpack my food. Each bag felt like a clown car. Lots of containers kept coming out of them. With the lobster and crab rolls, one container had the filling. You got two scoops of lobster and crab meat, which made it easy to portion out. The roll parts were two buttery, toasty warm, grilled rolls. They were pretty large. A third container had romaine lettuce and tomato slices. Thank goodness I was assembling these rolls at home. It was a lot of fun and messy. The portions were so generous. I couldn't stuff the sliced tomatoes in the roll, so I ate them on the side. Verdict? Delicious! You get decent chunks of lobster and crab meat. They tasted fresh. I got a tiny shell in a bite. I didn't mind. It was proof that it was real. The bread was so good. I liked the shredded romaine lettuce, which prevented the bread from getting soggy. It was filling. I had the clam chowder next. It was fantastic! Every spoonful had huge chunks of clam that were as big as the diced potatoes and carrots. This place does not skimp on ingredients. It was so good. I normally don't like croutons, but I put them in the chowder. I think having those mini oyster crackers would have sent this chowder and me into orbit. I felt like I was out east again. I need to return when it's safe again. The surprising part of this meal was the coleslaw. I know. Who raves about coleslaw? Well, I will here. It had garlic in it. I absolutely love garlic and never thought of having it in coleslaw until now. The dressing was a light mayo base. It was perfect. I enjoyed every bite. It was the best coleslaw that I have had in ages. If you are presented with Sapporo and Guinness, which one would you choose? Tough decision. I went with the Sapporo. It was perfect with this meal. It was cold, refreshing, and smooth. So good! I had the Guinness the following day. I normally don't drink it unless I've got stew happening where I pour some of the beer into it. Well, I had burgers happening and drank it with them. Perfect! I had an excellent first experience getting takeout here. The food was yummy and it was my first time getting booze with my takeout order. I'm so happy that I can get lobster and crab rolls in my neighbourhood. I will be back. A solid 1 for the amazing food. The service on the other hand was horrible. Our waitress came to our table soon after we have been seated, we mentioned that we'd like a sprite and a glass of water and also inquired about a buck a shuck - she mentioned that we need to order a beverage (is the sprite not a beverage?) and then walked away. She came back not too long after and I told her I'd like the Chocolate Mint Coffee which consists of vodka, creme de menthe and creme de cacao, it tasted like washed down hot chocolate, the ones you'd fill the cup back up with hot water after you've finished your hot chocolate.. YUCK! The sprite was also flat. The food took a really long time to come and our waitress never came to check on us for the quality of our food and if it was to our likings. The oysters finally came when I'm half way done my meal without any other condiments nor was it offered to us when she quickly set the oysters down and left. We waited around for another 20 minutes to look for ANY waitstaff and there wasn't any on the floor. At the end of our meal, the waitress rudely interrupts me while I was on the phone to ask if I'd like a box for our food. I kindly rejected. She came back afterwards when we asked for the bill and asked "Do you want a box now?" She brought a box over and when she returned with our bill, she practically tossed it onto the table with the side that has all the breakdowns facing down - not her problem though! - she went onto the machine and clicked away. All in all, there was a lot of waiting around for the lack of customer service that was not given. I couldn't wait to get out of here. Needless to say. I will not be returning. Came to Diana seafood on a Sunday night for dinner.  Not too busy when we arrived, so we got seated immediately.  Service is a bit slow, wait for a few minutes before our waitress come.  Ordered the pan seared scallop, seafood pilaf and the miso seabass.  The scallop is large in size and fresh. It is one of the largest scallop I had never had from a restaurant.  Seafood pilaf is another amazing dishes, risotto gets all the seafood and tomato broth favors.  Another stand out dish is the miso seabass. I am actually surprise with this entree and totally recommend for it.  Finally finish off with cream brulee and chocolate lava cake with ice cream.  To be honest, dessert is not particular good and not really recommend. read more

Service has gone completely downhill, right from the hostess upon walking in and to the server that basically forgot about our table. Quality of food is still good, but really disappointed about the service... Requested for water refills several times and no one bothered, appetizers were finished with empty plates and not cleared off until entrees arrived. Not to mention... no one even checked on the table to ask how the food was. We basically didn't see the server again until we asked for the bill. I've been a fan of Diana's since the Toronto market location... to the first restaurant and then this Markham location... but this isn't how I remember Diana's to be... Super disappointed! read more

My recent visit to Diana's was flawless. The wait time was zero and our food came out timely and tasty. I don't remember Diana's to be this good! The Fanny bay oysters were delectable: so meaty and creamy! The appetizer platter was good and yes it's something to share with 2 people; we had four lol so it wasn't enough but we still got to sample a bit of everything. Their clam chowder was packed with ingredients; so hearty and good; not just a watery soup! Then in order of my favourite for the mains: claim linguine, bouillabaisse and lobster pasta. Claim linguine always has my heart though! Having said that, all the mains had great depth of flavour. I would definitely come back again soon with my family. My impression of Diana's has always been an okay family seafood restaurant but they really exceeded my expectations! ________________________________________________________________________ REVIEW FROM 3 YEARS AGO (deleted old one in error): despite the negative reviews for Diana's, I didn't experience anything bad at all in my last visit. in fact their cherry stone claims, oysters and scallops were AMAZINGGGG. they were so fresh, sweet and meaty! our waitress was very knowledgable about all the oysters and attended to all our needs. the only down side is that one of the dead clams in our clam linguine opened up revealing the dirty mud inside. of course the manager took that off our bill but also graciously took 4 oysters off as well! nowadays taking the unsatisfactory item off the bill is an expectation but they went above and beyond by giving us free oysters too. read more

First of all the food quality here is very good! The $1 Oysters selection is not just 1 type, usually 2-3 types. They had 2 types for $1 the day I visited. Can't beat the quality, variety and cost for oysters! Pasta and octopus was also great. However just like many other reviewer, the service is really slow! read more

Went with a friend for lunch at Diana's Oysters at $24 a dozen. They were so FRESH! Fish and chips were delicious! Waitress was pleasant and service was excellent. Restaurant was spacious and comfortable! read more

Visited @dianasoysterbarmarkham on a Sunday night around 7pm, wait was about 5 minutes. My friends and I actually went to the Scarborough location first but they don't take walk ins (and was actually very rude about it ) so we visited the Markham one instead. Their Markham location doesn't take reservations and is walk in only so it's quite confusing. We purposely went to Diana's for their buck a shuck but as we were ready to order, the server told us that they had run out of their buck a shuck malpeque oyster deal as the Saturday night before had been very busy. Big disappointment! Ordered their clam linguine pasta ($26) which was decent. I liked how the clams were really big! Also, we got their mushroom linguine ($22) with sautéed garlic. Portions were small for the price paid, pasta wasn't anything special so overall 7.5/10. We also ordered 2 baskets of fries which were $6 each. Fries were pretty solid! Finally, since we came for the oysters we still wanted to order some to satisfy our craving so we got the Lucky 88 oysters, priced at $2.5/each. They were extremely creamy and sweet. I think one of the best oysters I've had. Overall, service at the Markham location was pretty good but still very disappointed about the buck a shuck! Went on a Saturday night, it was quite busy so reservations are recommended. The service was quick and friendly and they had a pretty large menu consisting of raw and hot foods. Everything we got was delicious, the cherry stone clam was unexpectedly salty, I dumped out the juice before adding the lemon and vinegarette dressing which helped with the saltiness. The crab cakes are amazing, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their new pink silk drink was a fun twist on a gin martini. The restaurant has a modern decor, bright , large with high ceilings. The oyster bar is perfect for drinking and oyster tasting. Service is friendly and efficient , menu is not huge but a good selection of oyster. Their Caesar is not inexpensive but it's one of the best in town. Can chose to come with tiger prawns or crab! read more
