The Strawberry Tiramisu cake from here was pretty good and tasty! The cake was light and not too sweet. I loved the mascarpone which was creamy and not too heavy. The strawberry flavor was subtle, but in a good way. The frosting was light and too sugary. I also liked how beautiful the cake was presented with the smooth cream and garnishes. However, I wish the cake was soaked since this was supposed to be a "tiramisu." The only tiramisu part about this cake was the mascarpone cream. Additionally, the cake was pretty pricey at $46 for such a small size. I could probably finish this with up to 2 other people, so it's not ideal for a bigger group. I got this cake delivered via DoorDash for a co-worker's birthday and the process was pretty easy. Overall, a good quality cake. I would get a cake from here again, but only if I'm willing to spend more and don't need to feed too many people. read more

Wow! WORST service ever!!!! I went to get some drinks with my daughter and niece today. Ordered matcha latte, green grape ade, pomegranate ade. Gave us original latte so we said it was matcha latte, one who made the latte asks one who took order and confirms they gave wrong order takes drink away, one who took our order tells her madly "I will drink it!" This is a small Korean bakery nested the California Market that can satisfy your standard soft Asian bread needs. I came here early in the morning around 8:30 a.m. and most of the bread racks were empty as the day's freshly baked goodies are being prepped, cooled, and wrapped. I saw trays of freshly baked breads that have yet to be packaged and asked for one from the tray and the staff was nice enough to wrap it right up for me! I got the milk cream bread and blueberry cream cheese bread and both were soft and delicious and not overly sweet. You can't go wrong with Tous Les Jours. If you are not familiar, this place is mostly geared towards Korean customers which means their bakeries and baked goods taste significantly different from what you may be normally accustomed to from your regular groceries stores. The only way I can describe it is that their breads are less "bready" and more "fluffy" and light. It's not super heavy and they have a variety of options and flavors to choose from. I highly recommend you give this place a visit and see the difference for yourself. read more

This location may be a little hard to find, but it's actually inside the market on the ground floor. You have to enter the market first, as there is no entrance from outside the checkout counter. This has meant that sometimes trips meant to only buy cake end up with us buying groceries as well haha. We've bought a couple of cakes from here for friends' birthdays: a sweet potato cake and a chestnut one, and both turned out pretty good and worth the price. They also sell candles (both numbered and regular) in case you need some to go with your cake. Recently, I tried to order over the phone, but I ran into some conflicting information about needing to order online? Not sure if they've fully transitioned yet, but we ended up going in person, not knowing if they had cakes available. Hopefully the ordering process is more streamlined next time. This little bakery is actually a chain, and there are several locations in SoCal. Located in a Korean market in K-town, they offer different types of baked goods than the usual SGV Asian bakeries. A simple review on what we bought when we dropped in while shopping at the market: a sweet pumpkin donut and a red bean donut. Thinking these were unique, we couldn't wait to try them when we got home. (we had a huge lunch and already bought donuts from California Donuts 30 min. prior) A simple time lapse has apparently changed the biological integrity of the sweet pumpkin as it all of a suddenly got increasingly greasy. Unable to finish the first day, we wrapped it up to have w/ coffee on the 2nd morning, only to find that it now drips w/ grease as it rolls back & forth in the bag when I tilt it. In to the trash it goes. Red bean fared better, a little sweet w/ its sugar sprinkles and a bit oily, but not nearly as artery clogging as the other. The service by the girl cashier was average. Not too chatty or much personality. By the cashier is a small video monitor displaying different people eating things in pure ecstasy, as if that's supposed to tempt me to buy more?? Such a cute place for bake good. This location is located inside California Market. Close to the entrance of Western Street. The workers inside this bakery are very nice and helpful. The cakes looks so amazing. The bread looks so delightful. The rolled cakes makes you want to try each flavors. (But it's just a display) they also service coffee. They have croquettes and it's warm. Good solid Korean bakery! Though I have to agree that this TLJ not what it is in Asia. I love going to TLJs in Asia. Its usually a huge beautiful café with lots of options for everyone. However, TLJs in LA are quite different. Anyhow, from the few options they have at TLJ, i like to buy the mammos bread-huge bread with crumbs, fresh cream and jam in between. It looks very typical but oh, TLJ makes a good one-i am told. I normally don't eat creamy bread but my family and friends are a fan. I also recommend the cream pan (loaf) and salad pan (very typical korean style salad bread). They typically sell out around 12ish so come early if you want to try the salad bread. read more
