THE BEST COFFEE In the world!! I know it's a bold statement, but believe me if you tried it you would say the same thing. The Vietnamese coffee has left my husband and hooked for weeks and months now that I'm thinking of it. Today I tried some of their delicious pastries and boy it did not disappoint. I also took several pictures of all the goodies they sell. Perhaps you can come and check k out this goldmine in our neighborhood.

I came later in the day so the selection wasn't as plentiful and fresh! But I love this chain as of this year, so I had to grab something when I stumbled onto this 85 Degree Bakery in Koreatown. Nice displays, the decor and customer service can both be improved. The place is too spare for me, folks could be friendlier. Got savory pastries to go (garlic and bacon) and some egg tarts. Delicious! Prices are in the middle. No outdoor seating, just inside. Not my favorite location, but glad I checked it out!

I'm not much of a cake guy, but after sampling a series of 85's different options -- Red Velvet, Black Forest, Mango and Tiramisu -- I am very nearly sold. The cakes from this Asian bakery are lighter, and not as rich or sweet (or sticky) as your usual Western offerings so for me they're a n easier way to indulge. I hear their breads are good too. This location is well laid out, plenty of room and good light, with helpful servers. (PS, My fave was the Red Velvet)

This 85 degrees location is located on the corner of a high-traffic shopping center. I believe this location pretty clean and fully stocked for that reason alone. The bread is fresh and their drinks are delicious. The staff are business oriented and willing to answers your inquiries. In this picture, I ordered their brown sugar iced latte.. not only does it look great but it tasted great too! I usually stop here once a week to pick up treats with my work bestie. PS: There is street parking in front of the store or you can opt for the structure parking around the corner. Either way, it's worth the stop :)

This was my first time trying this place, and I really believe that your experience heavily relies on what you get. I got there first thing in the morning, meaning the pastries were nice and fresh. It was not empty but not packed. We could easily get our food, check out, and sit down at one of the many available tables. We got the jalapeño cream cheese bread, milk pudding bun, marble taro, mango custard bun, choco bun, and berrytale. The jalapeño cream cheese was by far the star. The bread was soft and fluffy filled with flavorful jalapeño cream cheese, and topped with crunchy bits of cheese. It went by fast. The berrytale was the best out of the sweet pastries. It was nice and soft, with a tangy and fruity cream cheese center. I appreciated how the top of this pastry had become sort of caramelized and crunchy, which gave it a great taste and differentiating texture. The milk pudding bun was also delicious though simple. Not much happening flavor wise as it is simply a soft bun filled with custard, but delightful nonetheless. The marble taro was not good. I love taro, and enjoyed the filling itself, but the bread had become mushy, which did not pair well with the already mushy taro. Though there were bits of crunchy grain throughout, this did not do much to help the overall bread and we ended up just throwing it away. The mango custard bun was ok. All the textures were great, and the bun was nicely filled. The flavor of the was not what I would have expected, as it was more savory- akin to an Indian mango chutney. I found this taste slightly off putting in the context of the custard bun, but not entirely revolting.

Always a good time when visiting this 85 Degree store!!!!! Sylvia is always up to date on the seasonal drinks. Sylvia provides great recommendations regarding drinks and breads. Sylvia assisted me with selecting a cake for my Nivea birthday! She loved it. This is by far my favorite 85 Store.

Checked out this spot and it did not disappoint. I ordered the tiramisu cake, a croissant and a milk tea. Everything was delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the place had a really chill and quiet vibe. Definitely recommend.

Silvia (Sil) was very helpful and greated us with a beautiful smile. She informed us of the hot sandwiches. This was my 1st time coming here. I ordered a strawberry Danish and milk tea boba. Looks like this will be a new spot for me.

Seriously, Starf*cks is over, amirite? Why would anyone still go there when you can order a massive variety of edible sweet or salty pastry snacks for $2-$3 - today! - still! - in this economy! Accompanied by drink prices that top out at StrFks lower end prices and are far more creative, delicious and varied! Gedouddaheyah! 85C is the shizzle!

Vietnamese coffee with a mountain of taro powder at the bottom separated by boba! ‍‍
    Chaz H.

Just asked for my usual Vietnamese coffee add Taro and boba and the barista there made my drink horrendously wrong. And when I asked to have the drink fixed he said this is the way we make it and handlled me my drink and continued to call the next order! I then proceeded to go back to the counter to speak to the cashier to tell her I wanted my drink remain and then someone else dipped and remade my drink and forgot all the modifications but I don't tolerate attitudes like that especially when you can tell that it's visually a mountain of powder at the bottom of my drink separated by the actual liquid. Listen bro, if you don't want your job just apply somewhere else. The world is hard enough dealing with rude people and I was being nice!

I've been to 85°C Bakery in Koreatown a couple of times now, and Sylvia has helped me both times. She is always so kind, patient, and welcoming. It is really nice being helped by someone who has such good energy and makes the whole experience feel smooth and enjoyable. She leaves such a great impression and is definitely one of the reasons I will keep coming back

Heard so much about this bakery chain... it's been on my bookmark list forever. Was walking the area and stumbled upon here and had to immediately go in. Very cute. Was interested to see how West Coast Asian bakery offerings were compare to East Coast NYC's Asian bakery options. Noticed they didn't have some of the classics I'm used to. And everything is a pineapple bun? Unique flavors and cute packaging (some would say wasteful?). With the packaging, how can I be sure it's fresh fresh? They have a cute tote bag so I had to buy it! Great souvenir for myself hahaaa They have kiosks to place drink orders and such. Everything looks pretty and cute. Very large and spacious bakery with some seating available for your coffee date

We came right around opening and there were already quite a few people, but thankfully no line. Everything was still available, so we got the strawberry, mango, and lemon desserts, plus a box of ice cream. We tried the lemon one there - and it was really good! The center is super runny, though, so be careful because it can get messy fast The strawberry was definitely my favorite - such an interesting combination with a really bright strawberry flavor. The mango was good too, but I probably should have gone with a different fruit. The ice cream was honestly a 5/10 for me. You can find similar, or even better, ice cream at a dollar store, so I'd skip that The strawberry lemonade, on the other hand, was SO good! Not too sweet, with a nice tart flavor. Definitely recommend it! The café itself was clean, cute, and welcoming, and the staff was friendly. Would I come back? Probably not. I think these desserts are more of a trendy experience that everyone should try at least once. I'm glad we did, and the quality here is definitely great - I just don't think I'm going to become a fan of this type of dessert.

They seemed kind of confused. My Man Go: 2/10. A trompe l'œil pastry designed to look like a mango, filled with fresh mango, mango mousse, and sitting atop a hazelnut praline cookie. For starters, the chocolate shell was soft and lacked the crispness of properly tempered chocolate. Either that, or it had started melting due to improper temperature regulation in the case. The fresh mango was overripe and had no texture; the mousse was similarly made of overripe mango and was room temperature. The praline was not made properly, and had zero structure. I don't really understand how all of these things can be true when it appears as though the pastries are sitting in a refrigerated case. What a waste of mango. Interior was standard, no decorations. TVs playing Tik Tok reviews. Tables were all dirty, probably because of the lack of structural integrity of the pastries.

I need to reiterate that I don't like breakfast burritos because they're usually greasy and heavy, and one-note. Each piece features smooth, sculptural finishes, layered flavors, and seasonal components--elegant in appearance and delicate in texture." Each cake serves one and is 2.75" in size. Love that there were mini versions of these mousse cakes. All of the glazes were done well and the cakes were moist. Earl Grey Strawberry - Light Earl Grey and strawberry flavor. However, I prefer the Jasmine and Strawberry combo. The Earl Grey Strawberry combo did not taste harmonious like the Jasmine Strawberry. The glaze is beautiful. Not only aethetically-pleasing, but the light jelly-like consistency, creamy and smooth glaze brings a beautiful texture. The cake is moist, but you mostly get the glaze. It is a mini-cake, but you can taste everything in one bite. It is small enough where you can eat it by yourself or share with someone if you want half. Sobacha - Good nutty flavor of sobacha, buttery flavor at the end. Yet still light texturally. Overall beautifully done! Hojicha - Beautiful, strong hojicha flavor. Any hojicha lover would love this! Espresso Cookie Butter - Really good strong flavors of the biscoff. But did not detect nor taste any espresso flavor anywhere. Matcha - Light in matcha flavor. Vanilla sponge cake. Buttery flavor at the end. Chocolate Black Sesame - Very strong black sesame flavor. Has a caramel layer between. Buttery, nutty deliciousness! However, I prefer the signature cake slab version. Favorites: Espresso Cookie Butter, Hojicha, Chocolate Black Sesame. SIGNATURE CAKE SLABS Taken from Dōmi website: "Cake Slabs are sliced portions of our signature whipped ganache cakes, crafted for effortless enjoyment without compromising on quality. Each slab features soft, balanced layers finished with light whipped ganache made using Valrhona chocolates--refined, indulgent, and true to our fine-dining-inspired approach to cake." Before consuming always bring to room temperature or the swiss meringue buttercream will be hard and the cake will be a bit more dense. Yuzu - Very good yuzu curd with light tartness and sweetness in balance. Creamy buttercream. Vanilla cake was soft and moist. London Fog Birthday - Love the overall look! Moist vanilla cake. Light Earl Grey flavor in cake. Vanilla buttercream is thick and creamy. Overall tastes like light Earl Grey. Love the rainbow sprinkles throughout the cake! Chocolate Black Sesame - The black sesame whipped ganache and vanilla buttercream is so good! Moist, rich cocoa cake. Not dense like the last time I've tried it. The thin layer of caramel between the cocoa cake really brings the nutty black sesame and buttery caramel flavors together. Without the dark, buttery caramel flavor, this cake would not be as fantastic as it should! The cocoa cake was slightly dry when eaten separately, but with the buttercream, I could not tell and it was delicious! Hazelnut Blood Orange - Tasted a bit of hazelnut flavor. Cannot detect the blood orange. Had to double check my order to see if I got the right cake. Can only taste cocoa cake. A little bit of deep tea flavor or caramel. Hard to detect. Some kind of dried yuzu or blood orange peel on top. It was a bit hard and unpleasant to chew on. This was my least favorite. Favorites: Chocolate Black Sesame, London Fog Birthday. I'm glad I've got to try both types of cakes, but I love the signature cake slabs! The marbleization design of the cake was stunningly beautiful and the flavor was robust in Japanese Hochija tea flavor - just how I like it. The mousse part is where the Hojicha flavor is at and the texture was nice and smooth. I liked that it was not too sweet. The base is a thin layer of dark cocoa cake, which contrasted the Hojicha perfectly. Chocolatey and roasted tea flavor ... just warms my heart and soul.
