Red Ribbon is my go-to merienda. The manager there is Dina. Awesome manager who goes above and beyond her service. I love their cake, which you can put your own personal picture on. There is one occasion where I wanted to send a picture of my brother-in-law on their site, to put on top of the cake. But their site was not working. I tried many times, but to no avail. I needed to have this picture on top of the cake. Dina was kind enough for me to send the picture to her personal cell phone so her team could transfer it to the cake. The picture on the cake was the finishing touch of my brother-in-law's birthday party. Dina made it happen. That is how extraordinary manager Dina is. Also, most importantly, is Dina's team. Red Ribbon Bakery has been a staple in Los Angeles for years and love how it has been selling Filipino baked goods to the community. This particular location is a bit small and sell pre-packaged goods so if you want a quick pick-up, this is the place! I normally get the cheese ensaymada, mocha sponge cake and senorita bread (i love the ones with the ube.) On the counter, they also have hot, ready-to-eat empanadas. Yesterday, I got beef and one with spicy chicken, both being very good. This is also a great place to pick up whole cakes! Mango Supreme and the mocha rolls are the favorite in my family. Service has always been friendly and efficient, which is a great combination. Been going to Red Ribbon at various locations as a kid. This location moved from Sunset & Gower. Regardless, parking sucks at both locations. The other cakes here are good too most especially ube flan, yema caramel, mango, and sans rival cake. Empanadas are delish here specifically the chicken version made up of shredded chicken and potato. Breads (pan de sal), halo halo, coffees and other items here are pretty good. The mamon and ensaymada (sweet bread) here are served in different flavors (ube, mocha, butter. Yum, you heard me, mamon which is a moist and buttery chiffon cake. Ensaymada is a buttery brioche with a shredded cheesey topping. This location is a bit tiny so it's best to take out. read more

I ordered ube flan cake yesterday at Carson location for a birthday. The advertisements shows with a syrup on top of the flan in the picture. The cake given to me does not have a syrup so I asked for one. The cashier said it doesn't come with it which is weird. I left the store went home. Just a piece of advice to the customers. When you buy their baked goods in packs. Open it and check one if it's fresh. Cause we learned a lesson. My son and his family purchased varieties of mamon , ensaymada and other sweets amounting to almost 80 dollars. When they got home. I got my orders of three packs of butter mamon and a pack of ensaymada. I was opening the pack of mamon I was shocked there were tiny round shaped molds on the surface. It's so upsetting and to think one pack is almost 16 dlrs? It's not fun to write a negative reviews like this I only hope the money was refunded. But we live in Indiana. Liked it enough to venture to the shop to see other goodies. The immediate area is not that good esthetically, but better than the Alvarado park area, less crowds. The shop is in a strip mall with other interesting stores: KFC, seafood grocery store, a soccer apparel shop, a thai restaurant, an insurance co and some other Knick knack bargain shops. Once inside, the girls in the shop were cordial professional friendly nice and polite, a 5 star! There were shelves of the sponge cakes in: Ube, Mocha and Butter. I purchased a couple of Ube and Mocha. Ube is a purple yam in the Philippines and using as an ingredient for baked goods and treats. Similar to sweet potato but purple and I am sure it is good for you, nutritionally. One of the desserts: Brazo de Mercedes and its Literal meaning, 'Mercedes's arm' The name, which means "arm of Our Lady of Mercy," and the dessert's origin date back to the days when The Philippines was a Spanish colony. The story goes that egg whites were used to make plaster for churches. We can thank google for this factoid. There were many cakes on display: Ube, Mango, Mocha and all looked yummy but I passed because I can't eat an entire cake and neither can Fendi. Wanted a slice of any flavor cake but all the slices were sold out, therefore cannot comment on tastes. Nothing could go wrong with Red Ribbon. All the pastries are delicious and are always served fresh.The place is very tiny inside so when there's a line, be mindful that you have no personal space. It is shared with a few different stores so parking could be tricky. Nonetheless, the pastries and the service make up for it. They are also open for most holidays (which is unfortunate for them), but it's very convenient when you want to buy a last minute cake. I don't think they sell actual food here like the other Red Ribbon locations. Overall, this place is great! read more

This bakery is kind of hidden, but it's next to the Seafood City filipino market. I went to the market and stumbled upon the bakery after my walk out of the grocery store. Their ube overload cake was disappointedly on the dry side.. it looked too pretty to not taste amazing! I hope that the next time I get this, it would be a lot more fresh and moist.
