First off, I love the design, topography, and views of the course. Could be a competitor for top 5 course in NM. I played today and it is better than prior years, and they are working to improve. Still rough in places but is better. New sod evident on multiple holes. Boulder nine closed the day I played. Hope it is open soon. The design of the courses are nice, however the condition is terrible. Grass is dead, lots of bare spots on the course with dirt bunkers. Greens are ok, but have damage in some areas. The staff claim that the problem is due to a lack of rain and salty water used for watering. They apparently are looking for a new superintendent, but it's more work than that. They need an expert agronomist to help and spend some money. This could be a real gem with some work. Hope they get ths course up to par. They have a restaurant but no one working, but have 4 staff members in the pro shop socializing. Need some leadership there as well. read more

Worst course I've ever played in my life. Pace of play is horrendous. 2 and a half hours to play 6 holes. Conditions are terrible. Much better/cheaper golf in New Mexico. Could hardly get a refund without talking to the pro. Go play twin warriors or sandia golf club for the extra 20 and avoid this nightmare. It's in worse shape than 99% of the municipal courses in the country. Wouldn't even play it for free. read more

Wow. It genuinely seems like Hilton has forgotten they have a golf course. The conditions were absolutely dreadful. The fairways were riddled with holes and completely burnt out. Nothing was manicured, and although the green fees were low (which should have been our first clue), it was some of the worst conditions I have ever encountered at a "resort" course. We only managed to get through 9 holes before deciding to call it a day. Living in Arizona, we frequently play at WeKoPa, an Indian Reservation course, which is always impeccable. We expected this course to be similar to what is depicted on their website, but it was far from it. read more

This course is terrible!! Do not waste your money seriously. $65 green fee, the fairways look like a desert, few places to even drop a ball and hit it. The greens are in decent shape there are a few dead spots on each. Save your money, stay away until they get the fairways improved. read more

I don't normally write Yelp reviews, unless I feel strongly about something. I'm an avid golfer and grew up in So. Cal. I am used to playing desert courses and am usually very tolerant of courses needing a little work. That being said this course is in HORRIBLE shape. My wife and I were on a trip into New Mexico and stayed in our motorhome in Santa Fe. Went to this course because the pictures and video on the website made the course look great. The staff at the course were very pleasant and courteous. The facilities are tired and looking run-down. The staff told me they have closed one of the three nine hole courses for maintenance. They also said the course has been having issues getting enough water to maintain the grass. I understand the issues of water, climate and elevation in trying to maintain a golf course. But the course is in really bad shape. I don't know if the Hotel/Casino and Golf course are owned by the Pojoaque Indian tribe. If the course is owned by the tribe, I would strongly advise the tribe to save the expense and shut the entire thing down ASAP. It wasn't even worth the gas money driving to the course from Santa Fe, and it DEFINITELY wasn't worth the green's fees charged. Don't waste your time with this course! read more

If you don't believe in reviews, you should take this one to heart. This course at best is struggling. No grass on the fairways, greens and tee boxes are rough and the range is a disaster. In their defense they are having water issues and man does it show. I'm lucky enough to play courses all over the US and normally if I see a really bad review I try to believe that it was just a golfer that had a bad day and I try to give the course the benefit of the doubt. I have never played this course before being from Southern California and only here on business. But honestly I wasted a complete day off and accrued over $50.00 in Uber fees when I should have believed what I read! I teed off the first tee, found my ball and realized that there was no fairway to play from. All dirt and mud. Apparently I'm not the first to ask for money back as the young man in the pro shop was more than happy to refund my green fee. There are several other courses that can be played in the Santa Fe that will satisfy your golf needs. Unfortunately this is not one of them. Hopefully they will get it sorted and the grass will grow but for now...stay away! Sorry Towa Moral of the story...I guess not everybody that writes a review is just a disgruntled golfer. read more

I would not play golf here again. I played 3/2024 and the course is a complete wreck. The fairways are trashed there is no good grass aside from the greens and even those were not good. The greens had bare patches filled with sand that you had to play around, they also have not been rolled at all. One of the courses was closed due to construction so you only have the options of 18 holes. No food or beverages we were told when we paid that they had sandwiches that were grab and go, none to be found. The "golf pro" in the pro shop was not friendly. We ended up getting a refund for the membership we paid for at the beginning. This place is a dump! read more

The worst course I've played in years ( and I've played some doozies ). It's funny to me how many good reviews this place got recently, and I have to wonder if these people played the same course I did, or if Towa has some sort of marketing company doing damage control on their negative reviews. The bunkers had standing STAGNANT water, the greens had been punched a long time ago and never grew back, holes two through four had MILLIONS of Mosquitos around their island green, and the fairways were patches of weeds and dead grass. We got a great deal through golfnow for $20, but if we would have paid their full price of $89, I would have been extremely unhappy. Like punchin' someone in the throat unhappy. No way will I ever go back. Black Mesa's up the road and I can't imagine it being as bad as Towa. Next time we'll give Black Mesa a try. When I had to work in Santa Fe, I stayed at the Homewood Suites and frequently ate lunch at the Towa Grill. Nothing like sitting outside staring at the Sangre de Christo Mountains, sipping on an adult beverage and eating good food. Oh and by the way, the golf course rocks as well! This is a gorgeous course. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We came from out of town and our flight was delayed so we called. They said it would be no problem to get in late, but we might not want to make the drive since it was very windy and a lot of folks were coming off the course early. We decided to chance it. They basically kept the course open for us. We didn't see a single person the entire 18. Windy or not thus is a great course. Beautiful. Challenging. I did not play a round of golf, so this review is strictly regarding the pro shop and the driving range. The facilities were top notch, with a fully-stocked pro shop and friendly staff. They only charge $5 to hit unlimited balls for 30 mins, so I took advantage and hit for an hour. My wife and I were given a cart so we could quickly drive out to the range. The bermuda hitting surface was excellent and the view was spectacular. The range has water, tees, unlimited balls, and even a nice patio table set. Afterwards, the pro shop cashier printed out a map from the internet for a local hot springs swimming hole that he had just recommended. Best $10 I've yet to spend in Santa Fe. I will most definitely be back to play 18 holes the next time I am in town. This place is a WINNER! read more

You would think with no play on it because of Coronavirus restrictions that the course would be in great shape. But it was in horrible condition and the prairie dog holes were found on just about every hole. Some of the greens had fringe areas that were just sand and maybe a disease was affecting them. We came during 'non-season' yet the facility was very well kept. Greens were VERY nice for April in N.M. Staff was superb and worked with us to play all three 9s in the days we were there. Normally the maintenance staff closes a 9 for rotation yet they were very kind to let us on. Getting a lunch during non-season was tough; the hot dogs at $5 ea in the Pro Shop was too steep for dogs kept in a warmer, but past that, the long weekend was well worth the $$ and effort. read more

We played the Valley and Boulder courses today. The views are terrific and the setting is very picturesque. The greens are soft, very fast, and undulating. Everything breaks many right at the hole. Putting is very challenging and requires course knowledge to keep to 2 putt greens. There are a number of holes that disappear over the horizon. Even though the carts have GPS and maps it is difficult to plan tee shots and then hit them where you plan. Many holes have ravens crossing the fairway requiring layups. Again course knowledge would really help. Unfortunately the fairways were in poor condition. Some areas were great, some areas were very thin to dirt, some very muddy (it rained yesterday). Play was slow. It took 4-1/2 hours with waiting on every tee box. All in all it was a fun experience. Just don't expect to score well the=he first or second time out. read more

Grass wasn't in the best shape in places especially the rough, might have to do with elevation and season. Beautiful views. Decent price. First off, the guy working in the pro shop was extremely friendly and helpful. Also, the driving range was great (quality balls and good turf). But sadly that's were the positive review stops. Luckily I only paid around $30 to play b/c of a "hot deal," but if I had paid over $60 like the normally ask I would've been livid!! The course is in horrible condition. HUGE area's of not only dead grass but hard dirt in the fairways. They had a "men's club" tournament going off until 11:30am this morning (I had a noon t time). The foursome in front of me finished 3 holes behind the group in front of them!! It took me over 5 hours to play when there was hardly anyone on the course!! Not ONCE did I see a marshal or anything. If you want a nice course around Santa Fe I recommend Sanchez or Twin Warriors (although their customer service is lacking). I played both as well and they were leaps and bounds better than this course!! read more

Love this course! My husband and I drove down from Denver and played the weekend after labor day. The greens were in great shape, all courses were enjoyable and the views were amazing. We played Valley/Pinon the first day and Pinon/Boulder the second day. When we played on Friday we were able to complete our round in 3.5 hours. On Saturday there were more players but we were still able to complete our round in less than 4.5 hours. The staff in the pro shop were very friendly. read more

Excellent Condition! I just shot my best score this season. The staff is friendly and professional. The course is strategic with some partially blind shots but the carts have very detailed GPS maps. There are forced carries but this is mostly an issue for short hitters who play off the most forward tees. Five years ago many of the bunkers were rock hard but after a thorough revision of the bunker drainage at the cost of many thousands of dollars the bunkers have good consistent sand and are fair and playable. My buddies and I have played 20+ rounds per year the past four years and we are never disappointed. read more

I've played the Towa courses for many seasons now. They offer 3 9-hole courses, labeled "Boulder," "Pinion," and "Valley." Their practice, apparently, is to allow play on any given day on 2 of the courses, reserving the 3rd for maintenance, on a rotating basis. This makes good sense to me. I played Pinion and Boulder this week. I can't exaggerate the stunning impact of the views of the Northern New Mexico desert from these courses. For someone like myself, who comes from a different part of our great country, it's truly breathtaking to play golf in such an awe-inspiring setting. I also want to compliment the staff in the golf shop. They were helpful, courteous, and professional. I didn't have quite such a good experience with the staff in the adjacent dining area, however. When I completed my round at around 2:30 PM, I had to go searching for someone in the restaurant. I finally found one fellow, after I simply walked into the kitchen, on his phone. All he could offer me was some pre-made sandwiches. As far as the golf courses themselves . . . the greens were in very good condition, but the areas around the greens were in poor shape. The tee boxes did not look like they had been properly treated or repaired. The fairways showed signs of maintenance issues, blistering and ruts, etc., that clearly didn't result from player neglect (like not repairing divots). All in all, I recommend that a visitor to this area who wants to enjoy a memorable golf outing play Towa, as the vistas will stay with you a long time. But be prepared for a liberal application of "winter rules," even in the summertime. read more
