They were wearing down and I always had trouble flossing around/between them. Gums around them were not happy when I flossed. I met w Dr. Fung and told him I wanted two things in replacing these: 1) anatomical crowns that weren't just flat but more chiseled and were good chewers; 2) Good spacing between them and in front/behind so I could finally floss around them w/o shredding the floss. Well he delivered on both goals!! They are chiseled and chew great. Gums are happy and I can easily floss between/around the new crowns. Very pleased-- highly recommend. I came in after trying a couple other East County dentists over the last 10-15 years with less than stellar results on crown work. (Multiple returns for crown fitting, temporaries cracking over and over, and so on.) I had none of those issues w Dr. Fung.

They said I needed a bite guard and a back tooth fixed. I told them the teeth grinding issue was resolved 10 years earlier, it was caused by daytime habits, not night time grinding. Over a decade of X-rays showed that. What about my chipped front tooth? I was provided with a written treatment plan with a need for a mouth guard, an additional appointment for a future cleaning, and a need to have the rear tooth worked on. And still nothing about my noticeable front tooth problem. I left with an impression that they did not believe me when I told them that the daytime teeth grinding was resolved. And I also left with no mention of fixing my front tooth. PS: I am not a frequent complainer on Yelp. Maybe once every 5 years. This one was blatant.

And get a root canal and my dentist put a temporary cap over that tooth and told me to come back in after my vacation and have it taken care of. You know, 20 years later and the cap is still on that temporary cap mind you. Like four years ago, I ended up having stage 4 1/2 cervical cancer, which comes with a lot of radiation and chemo and none of it is friendly with your teeth nor is the medication's that dry your mouth out severely. Fast forward 20 years and I had the worst toothache. It was the whole right side of my mouth. My dentist had since Retired but there was still a dentist at that phone number. I feel kind of strange calling him a dentist because he's more of a angel. He was so patient understanding and just generally cares about people. If there was one problem with this, it's only because he made me feel so ridiculous for being afraid of the dentist when he was so gentle, and so not what my brain had wrapped around as a dentist. And it doesn't hurt he is so handsome. But truly, if you have a fear of dentist or even if you don't, this is an awesome office with people that care. I had work done yesterday and last night I received a text checking in to make sure I was OK. This morning, Dr. Ahmedo called himself to make sure I was doing OK and taking my antibiotics.
