I went in to get some veggies. They were all as hard as a rock. I ask for them to be steamed more so I can eat them. It was a mix of squash, cauliflower, turnip greens, broccoli, and a few other vegetables. First of all, when I tried asking they looked at me like I was in a different country. No one understood me. They went to get a so-called manager who also had a hard time understanding simple English. So, they finally took my food back to steam it and do who knows what to it. I waited for 30 minutes. I will not go back again. Luby's is my place, and I will drive to get better food. Golden Corral needs to hire English-speaking people read more

I went here with my family, but the food was okay, yet they say they offer pizza and ice cream, and chicken. Yet they didn't serve it all the time and we came 3 hours before closing. Stopped by for dinner date with the hubs. The place is dirty from the moment you walk in. Cobwebs near the doors dirt and debris littered the front entrance and unfortunately it was not isolated to just that area it was the entire restaurant. The food was okay, I feel I would have enjoyed it more had I not been so concerned with how dirty the place seemed. Dirt all over the floor, tables with mountains of dishes and empty cups all around us. Giving 2 stars because the fried shrimp, rolls and meat loaf were good, I was scared to touch anything else. It's been many years since I have had food from Golden Corral. I was surprised to see them on doordash. I honestly thought all locations were closed. At the last minute before leaving town for the Christmas holiday 6 days before Christmas I elected to do a pick up order. I wanted family meal that wasn't chicken or fish. I hardly eat red meat but pot roast sounded like something I would enjoy. Keep in mind my order was picked up on the 19th of December and not eaten till the 25th. The pot roast was tender , the mashed potatoes had plenty of gravy and green beans seasoned okay. The small slice of carrot cake slice was very sweet not favorable . This was a meal for 4 people. I was expecting to pick up a medium container filled with pot roast, potatoes, carrots and celery. I also thought the mashed potatoes and green beans would be in individual containers. I was surprised to see they had dished the food on 4 takeout containers. I also received soft rolls and a free sugar cookies which I don't eat. I asked about the cookies before letting them pack them up. The best thing was having a meal I didn't have to cook. Somewhat of a language barrier as the staff didn't speak English well but I did receive my order. read more

Service was friendly and quick. Here for veterans appreciation. Food was good for a buffet. Salad ingredients were all very fresh and tuna was outstanding. The black eyed peas, cooked cabbage, carrots, Brussels sprouts were all good but the sweet potatoes were a the best. Definitely worth the price. read more

Saw several people gathering together talking but not assisting customers. I know theirs a shortage of workers but their should be someone tending to customers. My friends and I patronized this restaurant on Friday n March 1th 2024. This has been a practice that we have continued with for over a year. Before The reported date above we never encountered any problems with the wait staff and management. A waitress accused one of my friends of stealing a $5.00 tip from a table and this depiction of my friend was false. The manager embarrassed us in front of all of the patrons by threatening to call the police and stated that she would view the camera footage. We asked her to view the footage to prove our innocence in which she did not. This matter should have been handled in a more professional manner. The majority of the staff are of Mexican descent and they are bias against Black Americans. The owner should seek to rectify this matter due to the fact that many blacks patronized this business and we should be comfortable dining at this establishment without being looked upon as thieves. read more

I literally have not eaten at GC in yrs, but my mom and grandma wanted to go for Mother's Day so my sisters and I decided to take one for thr team and go. We all were very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! I love mashed potatoes and they were the best I have had anywhere! I ate a plate full. The wait staff was great. Only one problems. Surprising the Steak! All of our steaks were cooked medium raw even bloody in the middle and my family of 6 adults asked for well done. The guy obviously couldn't tell the difference and was just putting steaks on plates in the chaos. It was such a waste of steaks for some one else could have enjoyed them. I know my mantra is that all you can eat = instant two stars, but even I have my integrity. Birthday dinner with 95 year-old grandmother, 73 year-old uncle, 64 year-old dad....soft food and cantaloupe. I told myself I'd just get steak and bread pudding, two things they'd never mess up. DING DING DING...correction...they did away with the bread pudding and replaced it with this gross custard bread thing which looks like a cinnamon roll with a serious infection. And when I ask for medium-rare steak I know up front I'm getting medium...but I got well-done. I made the "mo tea" sound for EVER--that's where you tip the glass up and suck the ice so hard it sounds like a wind tunnel. No one ever noticed. But all the seniors had their pot roast, mashed potatoes and mac and yellow-colored-congealed-grease-disguised-as-cheese. The only thing that was good about this visit waa that our server did a really good job and was super nice. that being said.... have to say really disappointed in the experience my family and i had and overall at the golden corral here in mesquite on gus thommason and Towne center. The food wasnt that good had food that tasted rubbery and not fresh. No one was working the dessert bar. most of the desserts were out and hardly any choices or hardly any left of what they did have. about 7:30 -7:45 pm they start turning people away saying they close at 8 pm. when clearly signage on the door says they close @ 10 pm. if they did change hours. im sorry ut dont take that much and isnt hard to update info on signage. wish i had taken a pic with my phone. but it was dead. the only place the info on the hours is correct is on the google reaults. Wow !!! the only upside was that our server was real nice. you also saw employees standing behind the food serving areas standing around talking and looking at there phones and playing on them. paid and spent $76.00 for our family for bland and not good tasting food and a crappy experience. read more

If you haven't been to a Golden Corral in several years, you owe it to yourself to check them out again. My first foray into GC was about 25 years ago and I left extremely unimpressed. Fast forward 20+ years and I get married into a family that loves to have all its major functions at this place. My first time in 20 years to visit, I went in with my back and stomach clenched in rebellion - but I was pleasantly surprised. They serve steak cooked to order, shrimp and just about any food for any picky person in your party. I'm a bit stunned by these 1-star reviews. I have never seen a roach in this place - if I had, it would be my last visit and I would call the health department before posting about it on Yelp. You can really get some good food - but this is not a place to mellow out and be serene with the universe. The place is nearly always packed and full of children who scream. The bathrooms are regularly cleaned - but with the unattended children who are often rambunctious, the bathrooms can go from immaculate to completely disastrous in a matter of moments. They frequently announce in English and Spanish that children under 10 need to be accompanied at all times. I've been to other GC locations where they don't do that and it is chaos because kids use their filthy hands to grab food instead of the tongs, etc. If you've got a big family gathering where everyone has different tastes, this is a fun place to get what you want, when you want, and as much as you want - but it is not perfect. People should take Golden Corral for what it is. This is not gourmet dining. It's brightly lit, and it's full of people - some of which have no manners or volume control. It's an eclectic bunch. People cough without covering their mouths - so you can always pick up a bug during flu season here - but otherwise, it's a good deal on a lot of food. They have fresh fruit and veggies all the time, and I've never had any stale food here. Sometimes the steaks are tough not tender - that's life. I was visiting my aunt & we ate here & it was HORRIBLE!! FIRST of all it was $40 for 2 seniors for minimal selections. The fish was cold. The salad section, shouldve been closed THAT day! This location has gone downhill incredibly fast since owners/management changed hands. Management is totally unresponsive to questions and concerns, which was never a problem at this location prior to new managers came on board during December of 2019 and new ownership reportedly took place on 1/1/2020. Sad to see such a formerly great Golden Corral location compete with the Tinley Park Golden Corral for the worst restaurant in the Golden Corral chain of eateries. read more

Attending a baby shower is the main reason I took a leap to this Golden Corral. Exactly a month ago, I went to this busy place on a Saturday afternoon. It was the worse experience I've had...no, I take that back, no...I don't take that back. We had a room for the baby shower I attended and I felt good about being slightly away from the hustle and bustle going on right outside of the room. People were packed in Golden Corral like someone was giving something away. Because I'm not too excited about people's rear ends in my face when I'm eating, I opted out of the whole food and drink thing. Their tables are scrunched to closely and the tables are small...Big behinds and small tables don't mix well. Also, another reason for me not wanting to eat was because I observed several snotty nosed kids digging into the pasta with a little bit if spoon and a whole lot of hand. Thank goodness I have great vision, while in line to pay, I just scooted out of line and went to the room where the shower was being held. Everyone was eating, having a good time...all except me. I think it was that image of a green nosed boy and his sister picking at food on the buffet without supervision. The bathroom could have used a good cleaning...I guess when you you're short of help, the bathroom is neglected. Every few minutes, while in the room with the baby shower, a manager would walk around checking receipts to make sure everyone eating had paid. No biggie...but interesting. When he observed me not eating or drinking...he tried to seduce me into sneaking a drink; I kid you not. He said "Hey, no one will know, just wait a minute and I'll give you a cup, then go fill it with a Coke or something baby" I said "I'm okay, but thanks anyway" I won't go back...period. I know Saturdays are going to be busy, but, I just can't help not wanting to fill like I'm going to catch something if I do ingest something in this facility. It really does bother me to leave bad reviews but i hope someone somewhere will either take this into consideration and make changes for the better or hopefully this will deter some folks from going to this location to eat. The night started with the usual "where do you wanna go eat today?" The wife pulled out some coupons for the Golden Corral 2 for $20! I couldn't resist a decent deal, but personally i still think its too much for what you get but the coupon included drinks so i said "sure!". Upon arrival it was busy as expected for a Saturday evening. We presented the coupon to the cashier and she charged us for drinks when the coupon clearly says "drinks included". We asked why and she said the drinks weren't included. Whatever i said $4 bucks ain't gonna break the bank. We sat down and got up to browse the selection and it wasn't very impressive. Hardly any good items. Everything was picked over and looked extra greasy. Whats interesting though is that i had been to this location a few times before and it wasn't this bad. I understand that buffets due to the nature of self service will be kinda messy and inconsistent, but this time was nasty! Smelled like old cheese and smoke with a hint of dumpster ass. No joke it was gross. I cant believe people were eating! I had already figured since i all up in the mix i might as well grab some steak. I jumped in line and asked for medium well or well or anything decently cooked, but what i got was just grilled on the outside and cold and bloody on the inside! Gross! The grill master barely speaks english and i speak spanish so i requested my meat in two languages and still got slightly cooked and still pulsating cow flesh. I opted for some soup instead and was surprised to see a tiny roach scurry away from the spoon receptacle thing holder. I told my wife to steer clear of the spoons and the bread area. So she figured she would have better luck at the meat station and just out of pure luck she caught glimpse of a big daddy cockroach run across the front of the table behind the grill! We both decided to leave immediately. I know there are pests at every establishment but seeing these in the open is a bad sign. Ive been in pest control in the past and these guys should be hiding and dying in the back. Seeing these guys running around all brave with lights glaring and noise tells me the pest control is lacking. This is a huge health concern and others should be aware. Management needs to change or corporate needs to step in and start making changes. This place is filthy! We left in such a hurry i didn't even ask for my money back. On our visit to Golden Corral, we had a horrible experience. My wife found a dirty napkin inside her glass of water. You couldn't see it because the plastic water glass was red but she found it. After showing to the manager, she offered to refund my wife's meal only. We were all disgusted and left immediately. After calling the restaurant to get the corporate number, they refused to give us the number then resorted to giving us fake numbers that didn't exist. I visit Dallas a few times a year and take my family to lunch or dinner. They wanted to go to this Golden Corral this time. Very, very disappointing!! The big items were always empty, a popular desert was empty and was not going to make a reappearance for 45 minutes (we were told with no apology), and as we sat down to eat what was there, they began vegetable prep in the open area behind the salad bar in a machine that was so loud we had to literally shout to have our conversation. Lastly, I left my rental car key on the table and, when I ran back to get it, the server looked me right in the eye as I frantically looked, only to give it to me after I asked her for it. This place is horrible! It has been at least four years since I gave this place a try last, and it has only gone down hill! The elderly/disabled lady @ the table next to us was complaining that she had been begging for coffee for over an hour, and when I personally asked the "waitress" for the lady a cup of coffee, she said she could go get it herself! There seems to be no real management here, other than a bunch of robots arguing with each other behind their sections, where food was being prepared, and a definite attitude between the Hispanic employees against the African American employees. Great night out. Yeah I have honestly thought slightly less of a handful of locations, but seriously I was happy with this one. First the lady at the register was super polite and helpful. I asked if they offered a military discount, she said "Of Course!", thanked me for serving and visiting them. Definitely not what I expected, I like that stuff lol. Then there was the steak man... That guy was simply awesome. He literally made me laugh as he suggested specific cuts of meat. Yeah it may not be a fancy steakhouse, but that was some pretty dang good meat and those Texas baby ribs definitely fell right off the bone. I was impressed. Okay so last I've gotta mention Cesar. Honestly haven't been to a Golden Corral in quite a few years, so I had forgotten that there are still folks to help us at the table. This man was super nice, granted my understanding of his accent was a little tough for me, I dont understand the Hispanic accents very well. But, this man came by the table and asked if he could help us with anything and asked how the food was. I was a bit taken back, didn't expect that in the least. When I saw him he was cleaning some tables and I assumed that's all he did. I told him my drink tastes funny and he asked if I'd like another or something different, after he apologized and said that it happens sometimes, my Sprite was mostly carbonated water lol. I asked if I could have sweet tea even though I paid for soda, he laughed and said absolutely. Maybe 15 minutes after he brought the drink back, he stopped for just a moment and asked again of we needed anything. Now honestly I felt awful that I couldn't leave this man a tip, my wife and I didn't have any cash on us, so I had to find some way of showing my appreciation. We will absolutely be returning. This place is LOADED with Cockroaches! Please don't eat here. It is filthy, and there were cockroaches running over the table that we were eating. As we checked out... there were more just eating and walking all over the Managers notebook next to the register. Oh My God... this place needs to be cleaned up. I tried the fish after I had to make two trips to the buffet to catch them putting some out same with the chicken both baked and fried the containers sat empty for the longest. One lady asked the manager if they had anymore fried chicken he said yes but didn't move from where he stood to go and check on it. The pinto beans looked dry and old, the cabbage had no flavor, two of my favorite vegetables I didn't enjoy. Okay i can not even begin on how bad this place is. First off, when i walked to my table it was still wet from when the bust boys where cleaning it and also the carpet smelled of mildew a little with some milk that was spilled and neglected there for i don't know how long. Second, when i go to get food i went for some rice in the asain section, I supposed, when i ate it some of the rice was still hard! I also got i guess what was supposed to be like grilled chicken (also in the asain section), but it was practically swimming in grease. Now onward to sanitation of the place. So like i said before there was neglected milk on the mildew carpet, wet tables, the pictures on the wall had soda stains with dust collecting on the top of the frame and shall i add that there was a roach on the wall where i was sitting.
