Pot roast, potatoes, celery, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans
    Poncella H.

It's been many years since I have had food from Golden Corral. I was surprised to see them on doordash. I honestly thought all locations were closed. At the last minute before leaving town for the Christmas holiday 6 days before Christmas I elected to do a pick up order. I wanted family meal that wasn't chicken or fish. I hardly eat red meat but pot roast sounded like something I would enjoy. Keep in mind my order was picked up on the 19th of December and not eaten till the 25th. The pot roast was tender , the mashed potatoes had plenty of gravy and green beans seasoned okay. The small slice of carrot cake slice was very sweet not favorable . This was a meal for 4 people. I was expecting to pick up a medium container filled with pot roast, potatoes, carrots and celery. I also thought the mashed potatoes and green beans would be in individual containers. I was surprised to see they had dished the food on 4 takeout containers. I also received soft rolls and a free sugar cookies which I don't eat. I asked about the cookies before letting them pack them up. The best thing was having a meal I didn't have to cook. Somewhat of a language barrier as the staff didn't speak English well but I did receive my order.

    Lack of salad fixing

Lack of fresh food soups are dried up cheese for Salas dry stuck to the container place looked like we walked into a MESS

Takin' one for the team usually means you make out with the uni-brow boy so your friend has a shot at Mr. Beefcake, but last night it took on a whole new meaning... I know my mantra is that all you can eat = instant two stars, but even I have my integrity. Birthday dinner with 95 year-old grandmother, 73 year-old uncle, 64 year-old dad....soft food and cantaloupe. I told myself I'd just get steak and bread pudding, two things they'd never mess up. DING DING DING...correction...they did away with the bread pudding and replaced it with this gross custard bread thing which looks like a cinnamon roll with a serious infection. And when I ask for medium-rare steak I know up front I'm getting medium...but I got well-done. I made the "mo tea" sound for EVER--that's where you tip the glass up and suck the ice so hard it sounds like a wind tunnel. No one ever noticed. But all the seniors had their pot roast, mashed potatoes and mac and yellow-colored-congealed-grease-disguised-as-cheese. You know--at Pancho's they would have at least put the sombrero on me and sang Happy Birthday while doing the macarana. "Golden Corral, where is my freaking sombrero and iced tea?!"

I would really recommend for families but this place is not for everyone but I don't recommend lemonade and the service is really nice.

This was the second worst Golden Corral that we have ever been too. Most food items were cold. No steak cooked. No fresh fried chicken.

Now honestly I felt awful that I couldn't leave this man a tip, my wife and I didn't have any cash on us, so I had to find some way of showing my appreciation.

We had a large group and there was a long wait to get a table, to get our drink order, and then finally our food order. The restaurant is similar to Applebees or Chili's - just an average "fern bar" type restaurant. There weren't many veggie options on the menu. Lots of chicken, and of course, true to the restaurant name, lots of cheese. They brought us some incredible croissants in a thick honey butter sauce. The chips and salsa appetizer comes with salsa on the side and a meaty queso. I tried the broccoli and cheese side - the portion is tiny! This is a true side and not a good substitute for a meal. Super affordable though! They really outdid themselves on the birthday cake! Rich, chocolatey, with a fudge syrup - it was delicious. And kudos to the servers for being good sports and leading the birthday song. They were great about out large party splitting the check and the electronic pay device they brought to the table made it easy.

Cheddars is a good value, big portions restaurant. Typically they are consistent and do provide a good product for a great value. Most meals are less than $20 which should be your first clue. My wife and I have eaten at Cheddars since the early 2000s and while the food quality is not what it was before they were purchased by Darden, think Olive Garden; the food is a good value.

He enjoyed and ate almost all of it but said he probably wouldn't get it again. I got the birra tacos on corn tortillas. They were way too soggy before I even finished the first half of the first taco. I ended up stealing one of his flour tortillas to be able to eat the second taco. Which made the whole thing no longer a crispy experience. I don't know if P got flour tortillas last time and that was the difference. Or if it was just a particularly different type of serving. It was delicious anyway. I also enjoyed the rice. And he REALLY enjoyed the frijoles. Not sure I've mentioned that before.

Right away, you see a sign at the host table recommending to pay in cash; there is a $3 added fee for credit. No problemo. It has been open under Papin's for a year. Complimentary basket of chips/salsa. We began with Appetizer Trio (fresh guac, mild chile con queso blanco, shredded chicken quesadilla x4); all 3 were great tasting and we demolished it. For entrees, we ordered the Trio Combo (tamale, chicken enchilada, crispy/soft ground beef taco) rice & charro beans; 6-count Nachos Texanos appetizer (beef fajita) - these reminded me of how ceviche is served because there was fajita aplenty on top n barely notice the cheese on the individual tiny Tostadas but tender YUM; Enchiladas Texanas plate (cheese); and, 2 Tostadas plate (1 beef/1 chicken). We cleaned our plates. I was impressed the most with my Tostadas... The ground beef was THE BEST! I LOVE A MESSY TOSTADA just like a greasy burger topped off with Mexican crema & queso fresco! The Spanish rice had good flavor and the refried beans too. Service was friendly. There's only one waitress for about 3-4 tables at the time but she was sweet and we were patient. The food came out hot and fresh. The prices are very fair for the portions served. I think this is a GEM of a place and I can't wait to try ALL DAY BREAKFAST and their Huevos Rancheros. There's room for big parties to seat 20 as well and also a few booths for just 2. My only complaint is how warm it was in the restaurant.

I go there right at 12:00 and avoided the rush that came in right as I walked out, lol. The owner himself waited on me and helped me with my order. The place is so clean and clearly a great place to hang out if you aren't just wanting to eat. One side is a small bar area - but not too small - complete with a jukebox! TV screens are placed in good spots. The owner chatted about their history and I was interested in the history of Mesquite. A lady brought out my meal and took the time to smile at me, such a change from places that are in such a rush. My son loves it and now I'm a fan. You must check out this local-owned charming place! I went there for my birthday specifically to take on the "Toddzilla Challenge"--only to find out after finishing it that the challenge no longer exists. A total of four of us ordered it, and at no point did the cashier or waitress inform us that the challenge was discontinued. The Toddzilla is still on the menu, and there's even a wall dedicated to past winners, making it seem like the challenge was still active. So, we did what any competitive eater would do--we finished every last bite, expecting to earn our place on the wall and a commemorative t-shirt. Instead, we were met with a shrug and told, "Oh yeah, that challenge isn't a thing anymore." Talk about false advertising! The biggest issue? We specifically ordered four massive $22 burgers designed not to be finished, under the assumption we were taking on a legit challenge. If the staff had simply told us beforehand, we might have reconsidered. But nope--we were left in the dark. As for the food? It was... meh. The Toddzilla is just three beef patties with three slices of cheese--no sauce, no toppings, nothing. Just dry meat and bread. Fortunately, we asked for mayo, which helped a little, but without ketchup, mustard, pickles, or onions, it was a struggle to get through. Honestly, I think this place only gets good ratings because it's a bar. And let's be real--when alcohol is involved, food tends to get rated better than it actually is. If you're looking for a good burger, there are far better spots out there. Huge disappointment. *Poor *Decent *Ok *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Prices. Ok Food. Good Service. We got a booth immediately at 7pm - shocker - but not surprised it was right next to the kitchen. On the bright side, our server appeared promptly and the drinks were on the way. I went for the Peachy Keen ($11.50), very good! I ordered a dinner salad, but when the server (Diana) asked if I wanted chicken on it, I agreed and for some reason it became a $19 salad. I was disappointed that it was 3 times the salad I wanted but it was very good. Fresh ingredients made it worth taking 3/4 of it home. I ordered the range rattlers ($16) as an app, even though I wasn't very hungry. They were hot and spicy and crunchy, with a nice piece of shrimp inside. so good! Two of the 4 went home, also.
