I made an appointment for an 11:00 front end alignment. I was reassured the truck would be taken in shortly for service. I walked across the street to wait at a nearby restaurant. After an hour I noticed my truck was still parked where I left it. I walked back to Town Fair and requested my key back. I was again told it would be taken in shortly for service and the service man thought it would my truck would be next. Having already called an auto service near by, I left. Five minutes later, I pulled into the second auto place and as promised, my truck was immediately taken in for service. Town Fair Tire has poor customer service. The customer's time is clearly not important to them. No need to go to Town Fair with Firestone right next door offering excellent service along with excellent customer service. read more

Although the tires were mounted and balanced. They were incorrectly filled. Psi was low. The guys at the front were a joke. One guy just stared at me. Couldn't even say how can I help you or I'll be with you in a minute. Nope just stared at me with his stoner eyes. He was more interested in the tv. He actually put on pulp fiction complete with all the expletives. Went there to get semi inexpensive tires. And there was a rebate deal with the ones I picked. Yet they keep denying my claim for the rebate with no explanation. When my car was done I went to the desk to check out. But there was no one there. I did laps around the showroom to find someone. I found 2 guys in an office. I knocked on the door and said I would like to check out. I was told I am in a meeting someone will be with you shortly. I guess the meeting was more important than your customers. I mean without them you wouldn't have a job. Now a days nobody cares. It used to be all about customer service. I went there previously for a slow leaking tire. Which was "repaired" only to start leaking 2 weeks after. I dont know where all the 4 star reviewers on their site went. But it wasn't here. I would like to start this review by acknowledging Town Fair Tire the company as a whole. I found the exact tires I wanted online for a much lower price than TFT had advertised, and they beat the competition by taking about $50 off per tire, that was a huge savings. The staff at the Middletown, CT location were very accommodating when I requested to have my appointment moved up 3 days early making the process of dropping my vehicle off incredibly convenient for me. I would like to specifically acknowledge the Assistant Manager Mustafa for his assistance with an issue regarding the keyed lug nut lock. I had purchased the vehicle, a 2010 4Runner Trail, missing 3 of the 4 keyed lug nuts and no lug key. I assumed it would not be an issue thinking they must experience this issue time to time. They did not have the correct lug key to remove the one remaining nut. Technicians Chase and Joe went above and beyond to remove the stuck nut while Mustafa and I mulled over my options. With great success they were able to get the nut off and get the job done, on time and with no unexpected costs (other than buying 4 new nuts to replace the missing ones). All in all it was a great tire buying experience and just another reason I have been a loyal Town Fair Tire customer for the past 25 years. I went to Town Fair prior to Thanksgiving, because I had a slow leak on one of my rear tires. I had bought these tires at the Middletown, Connecticut location six years ago, and the staff here was able to look up my purchase, and my account. They took my car in to an evaluate it and discovered there was a nail on the inner sidewall. The location made it unrepairable. I then explored new tires (my current ones were also showing wear and some dry rot with 60k miles on them) and purchased the same brand I had on the car prior. Mustafa worked with me to find the tires I desired, and a good brand discount for the kind I chose. It took about an hour and a half to put on the new tires and they are perfect for my New England weather. I love the grip of the tires on the roads in our unpredictable weather.. I brought my car in for an alignment, and they charged me and did not do the alignment. I spoke with the front desk guy, and explained the situation with my vehicle. He told me he would check the rear alignment, and if he couldn't do it, he would contact me. He didn't tell me he didn't do the rear alignment until after I had paid. I used to go here for tires in Middletown CT. on Washington St. so you'll know where not to go. This place caters to the ones buying rims and their friends that don't speak English. I had an appointment and they made me wait while 4 other people went ahead of Shelly. I was just getting a flat tire changed and it took all day. They even made me walk to find the tire that they lost near the dumpster. I told that boy he better put it on my car now, I aint playing. He did but I know them sware words in Spanish too. So I waited sweating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a time change that was free with the package when u buy tires. Rocky Hill Town fair is much better service and quality. When you have an appointment they don't keep u waiting. From now on I go to this one. Bought Mastercraft touring tires.i love a smooth ride but with these tires car ran like a truck. Every bump I went over was felt. Sooo now I'm back for different tires have an appointment and it STILL GONNA BE 90 MINUTES OR MORE. Took the day off for 4 new tires. Went to there site and picked out the tires. Selected, gave them 10 days in advance notice. My appointment was for 9am. Entered store, no one even acknowledged me for 10 minutes. One person was at counter and on phone. Person took my keys, looked at my truck for 5 minutes, came back and said load tires are not correct, you need these tires. Why did site give me the tires and say okay to go, Why did I get a call the day before from Brittany mentioning nothing about the tires, but said there front end alignment machine was down and need to cancel appointment. Bottom line, started off as a shit show, ended up me going across the street to FIRESTONE, gentlemen in less than 5 minutes had tire size and better price than Town Fair and truck in bay. What a shit show at Town Fair, completely unorganized and seems they want to bait and switch the consumer. I have tried several times to do business at Town Fair - always as issue. I was told to use Town Fair Tire for my poor tire that picked up a HUGE nail! On Monday I stopped in and they were sooooo crowded, but so helpful! Mustafa was patient and caring in every transaction/question that happened. On Tuesday I came back to have my tire put back on my car (I couldn't wait on Monday) and Brittany was awesome too! After 25 miles they want to check on your lug nuts so I stopped in on Wednesday and Ed was also helpful and cheerful. I'm very impressed with how friendly and transparent everyone on the team has been every day I've been in the store. Well seeing all the negative reviews I now know why I received the service I received. Without getting to in depth the manager Brittney I found to be condescending rude and unprofessional. She seemed to have a chip on her shoulder or felt it was beneath her to appropriately deal with my concerns. Management must be "commissioned" based as she was eager to sell me a new tire have me pay and on to the next customer. They never contacted me when my car was done . Brittney passed me off to another staff member and when I got in the car all four of my tire were at a different psi . All done with this place !! read more

I used to frequent the New Britain location but when I moved so did where I go for service. The Middletown location is great. I always get great service from one of the reps. My last two visits I was helped by Mustafa and Brittany. Both were professional and welcoming. The only reasons I did not give 5 stars was because 1. it took 2 hours to replace two tires. and 2. the tires that were replaced should have been good for a few more seasons but becasue the workers failed to rotate the tires on any of my past changeovers these wore down signifficantly faster than the rears. Great service. All around they got my tires from the warehouse in good time, gave me a scheduled time to come in, and got the job done all in reasonable time. I ordered 35" tires so I expected a decent wait but they got it done very quickly. Overall not a bad experience at all, they just did not call be back one time, but they were certainly busy so I don't really blame the guy for forgetting. UNPROFESSIONAL! 1. My seat was moved. For a less than 1 minute ride, there is zero reason to move a persons seat in their car! If the person is too big or too small to drive, they shouldn't be trusted with other peoples vehicles! 2. The water bottle in my car was thrown from its location. I keep a water bottle in the center console and it does not slip or fall out of place (ever!). It was thrown across the car and landed between the passenger door and seat! A stupid and unnecessary thing to do! 3. My dash temperature was changed to read Celsius! What on earth could be the reason to tamper with any of the gauges on my car? It makes me wonder what else was bothered for no reason! There was no reason to dis-respect my personal property like that! This incident reeks of unprofessional behavior! Go to ANY other location. It may take a little more time initially but you'll save time in the long run. Friday 10/23: I get front two tires replaced. They lose a wheel cap. In the shuffle of trying to find the wheel cap, the front desk guy forgets to give me a receipt. He says he'll get me a replacement by mid week next week. Ok - no big deal. Mistakes are made. Monday 10/26: I call and ask if the wheel cap has been ordered. Its a stock item at VW that can be ordered same day. Maybe they would have shown exemplary customer service and taken care of that on Saturday. Nope. Same front desk guy says, "Oh, we've been busy I forgot to order it. I'll try to get it to you by the end of the week." Ok - fine. I didn't lose my wheel cap, but whatever. Thursday 10/29: Call front desk guy. "Hey did you order the wheel cap?" He says, "Oh! I'm so glad you called. I didn't write down your contact information. I think I made a mistake collecting the VIN number. VW says it shows up as a faulty VIN (faulty?). 1) How don't you have my number. I got my tires replaced where you took my name, information and credit card. How many indian girls who drive red VW's show up in Middletown, CT? 2) Faulty? Maybe it shows the wrong part, but VIN number is valid. I press him to call VW again. I tell him to call Langen because I get my vehicle serviced there and I was there recently. And I even told him that I work nearby and can pick it up directly from the dealership. I call him back at the end of the day and ask "do they have it?" And he says "Oh, I tried to call a few times but they didn't answer. let me call back right now. I'll call you back in five minutes" He said he would call back in five minutes. Did he? Obviously not. I managed to drive there, shop at Staples and show up. He said the VW dealership wanted them to pick it up directly so they can charge their account. I said okay. He said they would pick it up in the morning. Great. I asked for the receipt I never got. Okay. Friday 10/30: Show up at 4:00PM. I'm here to pick up the wheel cap. "Oh, its not here" Why? Its because "they got busy." Its been a WEEK for a STOCK ITEM. His excuse "Its my fault. I forgot." Well, you've been forgetting all week and every goddamn step of the way. My time is valuable. read more

I got tires from them in Jan 2013, maybe even Feb. It is Sept 2014 and without driving anywhere but from Cromwell to Middletown for work and around town, I already needed new tires. I procrastinated. I needed them in Jan 2014, but held off as long as I could. I went into the store(after going to Portland Automotive in August and was told I really needed to stop messing around and get the tires). I spoke with a man named Danny. He told me that he would give me a hefty discount (50% off what I paid the last time around). I told him I would call back as I didn't have the money to make an order and needed to wait a few weeks for payday. I call back 3 weeks later and speak with him on the phone. He says he will be working on the day I made the appointment for and I could see him when I got there. That influenced the decision in the tires I purchased. I get there this past Saturday, and in my gut, I knew it wasn't going to work out as planned. Of course, Danny was sent home early because it was his last day in that store. He was going to another location. I was made to feel like a jerk because "it's his last day and he was going to watch his son play baseball." Like I am supposed to know he has a son who played baseball, and how dare I not feel bad that this man would have missed his son's game for helping me. (I am in customer service, I know this trick...) I didn't put up a fight at all, just simply told the man what was said. He didn't seem happy, but he did offer to honor the deal with a slightly lesser discount. But I needed the tires and it was very reasonable, and that is the only reason I am giving this place 2 stars. Not one person was friendly, offered to help me, or acknowledge me when I walked in. The men were waited on with laughs and cheerfulness. I realized after I left, I didn't even get an invoice! Needless to say, I should have listened to all my guy friends in the first place when they told me beware. So my boyfriend and I purchased two tires and got an alignment for our car two weeks ago. So we spent around $350.. today my boyfriend got a flat tire, and it was one that we just purchased. There isn't a nail in the tire or anything but hey I get it shit happens. He went there today and was told that there is nothing that they can do about getting a new tire because he declined the warranty but regardless of that he JUST BOUGHT THE TIRES. So they say, oh we can definitely fix it though because there wasn't any damage to the inside wall of the tire. After sitting there for two hours, they come back out to tell him that they can't fix the tire, he needs a new one and another alignment. This is completely unexceptionable. I scheduled an appointment and discussed my very specific tire needs over the phone, showed up, not one of the tires discussed was in stock or available, and I was told they don't actually exist. While waiting for them to sort it out I witnessed another customer having an issue. I was visiting from out of state and wanted tires before heading home.
