I had my tires changed here and had made an appointment weeks in advance. unfortunately it happened to be the day before a huge storm and was told that everyone was double booked so there would be a wait. The wait wasn't long and I got picked up by a ride since I was told it would be 2 hours and I'd receive a call/text when they're complete. I received no notification that it was done even after 2.5 hours. Turns out they had the wrong number and the store was closed at this point. My information was even "double checked" prior, however, the worker did not pay careful attention to catch the error when I confirmed my info. I was contacted by corporate and I was taken care of on the issued listed in my other review. I went to the Newington location were my tire issue was dealt with efficiently. My daughter blew another tire yesterday 10/14/14... I chose to give the Middletown location another try. I did not receive one smile, in fact the clerk barely looked me in the eye. The other older gentleman was just as "friendly". Did my tire get taken care of, Yes. Did I think the staff gave a hoot that I was a customer of Town Fair Tire, No. The Enfield location is by far the best one I have been too, I wish that store and its staff were in Middletown. read more

I brought my pilot in at 4:30 to get a flat fixed. Still here at 5:30. One customer ahead of me. I stood outside the bay's and watched the 6 tire mechanics. Two were working on their personal cars. The others did one task like taking the wheels off then spent 10 minutes shooting the bull before getting on to the next step. This pattern went on and on. There was no management supervision. Best bet, go to Walmart for your tires. At least they're cheaper! read more

For the love of god do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost. I brought my car in for a simple tire change, and they stripped my wheel lock key. These guys had one job, and its hard to believe that they do this all day everyday for them to screw something so simple such as taking the wheel off the car with a wheel lock. At the end of the day I need the tires change due to bulging sidewall damage and I told them the issue. Yet they manage to remove 2 of the wheel but that one before they screwed up my wheel lock key. At the end they said there's nothing they can do, they can't replace my tires or fix the problem. Maybe these guys shouldn't be in business if they don't know what they're doing. read more

Although you can just show up at the store, I highly recommend calling ahead of time. If not in stock at a location, they then ship the tires to a location that works for you the next day. This gives you the best selection available when buying new tires. They match the price, and when I found a cheaper price online at tirerack.com, they matched the price. That saved a few bucks. Some of the worst service I've ever gotten. Waited in the appointment line for a good 40 minutes. I wasn't even acknowledged and walk ins were being helped before me. The system made no sense. Then I share my experience with a worker they were very kind but ultimately were unable to help me out. On my way out I see Brittany (the lady that was very helpful the day before and helped to choose my tires) so I decide to let her know what's going on. She gave me a rood look and made and made me seem like I was being unreasonable. It was one of the rudest exchanges I've ever had in my life. We had to buy 4 new tires for my husband's car, who had actually gotten a flat and had the spare doughnut on. The sales guy was pushy and tried to sell us a brand we had never heard of for a "deal" (this brand is also only sold at Town Fair Tire). When we were ready to walk away and verbalized that we were going to price shop elsewhere, he tried to hook us in by saying we wouldn't find a better deal and asked where else we were looking. I was put on the spot regarding some facts about the other stores we were price shopping, and he was quick to prove me wrong about their prices and fees in the most rude way possible. It's great when you try to make your customers feel uninformed and incorrect, Town Fair Tire! He was condescending and obnoxious...I was completely ready to walk out the door if it wasn't for the owner (I think) coming into help us look at other tires. Apparently this sales guy was from the New Haven store, but the manager was right there the whole time and didn't say a word about his attitude, only interjecting himself to help us with tires. The only stupid thing we did? Actually purchase our tires from them. They gave us another "deal" on some Goodyears...which by the way, have REALLY crappy reviews that I see after the fact, though they pitched us the "these are great tires" talk. This was really our fault, as we should have left and stuck to our guns about researching the brands they offered. However, I still don't believe it's right that they support their sales associates treating customers in such a patronizing manner and blatantly misinforming them regarding the quality of the products they are trying to sell. We were in a bind and really needed new tires at that moment, but I regretted it as soon as we left. I feel they took advantage of our situation. I didn't trust them entirely when we were at the store and I really don't now, so I can easily say I will never purchase anything from this store again. And I'll be needing new tires for my car soon. Bottom line? If you're looking for tires, avoid Town Fair Tire at all cost unless you WANT the "sleazy used car salesman" pitches. After taking my car there for a simple tire replacement I was told that they had broken a bolt off from underneath my car. Not only did they pay a mechanic to take care of the repair they also paid for my car to get towed to the mechanic and set me up with a rental car for two days until the repair was finished. Purchased 4 new tires and have had nothing but Problems. They are also the same problems and everytime I come in I get a bs excuse and that it is fixed. I have NEVER had tires constantly losing air like I have with these, half the time my tires are almost flat! I also bought my tires with warranty on them and feel that clearly the tires are crap and not safe for my children and with as many times as I've gone in they should have been replaced. I don't understand how a place can sell such crappy tires and not think twice. I definately will NOT be coming back to buy tires from this Town Fair tire. The service is awful and they lie about wait times and sell crappy unsafe tires! I will also be contacting head quarters seeing Middletown Town Fair Tire has yet to fix the issue Update~ took my car to a shop to have someone else check out the issue and someone damaged my rim. They help people on the price of tires and I was low on money and got a huge discount on some good master craft tires. I recently also got a nail in my front tire and they fixed it really quick. Overbooking!!! Called several days ago to make appt several days ago and was told the schedule was open. Made a 9 am appt just to change over to snow tires. Arrived on time. There was about 30 people in the waiting area. Was told it would take 1-1 and1/2 hrs even though I had an appt. When I questioned that I was told at least I didn't have to wait for "everyone" ahead of me. 2 hrs later and my tires are still not done. So much for making an appt!!!! Damon is a total jerk, has the worst customer service. He was rude to me and Literally escorted me out. I called today and nicely asked if they can put on 4 snow tires for me. they are brand new & Never mounted before. Justin said on the phone to come down today, it would be $15 each to mount & balance. So I drove 35 minutes, wait in line and Damon tells me " he can't mount them, were not supposed to mount somebody else's tires. I said Justin just told me to come down, no problem. He said, "who's Justin". I told him thanks for nothing and walked out. Town fair, lose this guy, he's hurting your business. Good lord, what a disaster this place is. I've never gotten out of here, with an appointment, in under 45 minutes, just getting to the front desk. The front desk is unmanned for 10-15 minutes a time. No system whatsoever. Every time they take an order, the front desk person has to very slooowly walk it all the way back to the garage. Then they disappear for ten minutes. The next time you see them they're moving tires around in the back. They finally re-emerge ten minutes later and stare at the computer for five minutes, while ten people stand around in the lobby waiting. There are so many people on line the entire lobby is full. There's one old guy that kind of vaguely wanders around the back kind of vaguely looking at tires. Never seen him actually do anything. He'll come up front and stare blankly at the people waiting in the lobby, nobody is at the front desk, the phones are ringing and ringing and ringing. The old guy wanders back off to stare at tires. More people crowd into the lobby and ask if anybody is working here, everybody shrugs, people leave, more people crowd in, still nobody at the front desk. The phones are ringing and ringing and ringing. You spot one of the front desk people talking to somebody in the back, then they disappear again. It's a Kafkaesque nightmare. Total trainwreck of an organization. Not sure if this store is going under or what. Don't go on any kind of holiday week, or you're looking at an hour wait, minimum. read more

Went in to have my tires rotated this morning. Was told it would take at least 90 min to complete w the other vehicles in front of me. So, I made an appt for 2p and was told since I had an appt I'd be in and out in about 30-45 min. Arrive back for 2p. "Manager" walks out to my car w me to get mileage. Starts telling me that the wear on my front tires is not good. He says that in fact "if he measured the tread on the front side, it probably wouldn't be legal" and he "couldn't rotate them For me". (Have rotated these tires) Went back in and he tries to convince me to get 2 or 4 new tires today. (Keep in mind MY very competent mechanic friend told me last week the tires were fine, but to get them rotated). Told the guy (Damon maybe?) thanks, but I need to get them rotated and I'll look into tires down the road. Proceeds to tell me that when the guys take it in back they may refuse to rotate them. When I don't bite at that he tells me that putting those tires on the back may cause me to "drop the back end out of my car when I'm taking a turn". Again, said I know they're not that bad, let's please get the rotation started. It's now 2:30p. At 3:20p I went up to the desk and ask if my car was ready. Nobody was sure. Car was not in one of the bays on their security monitor. At this point I said what is the point of having an appointment when I would've waited the same amount of time this morning when I came in?? Lo and behold my car was ready and nobody had told me. For how long I don't know. But I can guarantee you when I do buy new tires in a few months I will not be going back to town fair tire after this debacle. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. I will never go back. My husband made a 10:00 am appointment and ordered the 4 snow tires he wanted. The price included a front end alignment. The guy tried to convince me to get a rear alignment as well. I said no, front only. I showed the salesman the 4 rims in the trunk the new tires would go on. I gave him the special lug nut for those rims. He said it would be about 1 1/2 hours and he would text me when it was done. Two hours later he said it was not done. I went and had some lunch. Still no text. Went back into the shop at 1:00 and it was almost done. At 1:30 he said it was done but there was a problem they never opened the trunk and they put the new tires on my tire rims I was driving not the ones in the trunk. They also did a rear wheel alignment but something was frozen, so I would have to take it to my mechanic, get it fixed and then bring it back! I clearly, specifically, said no rear alignment. After talking to hubby, I went back in the shop and told them to put the tires on the rims I showed him in the trunk. The tires were done at 3:30 pm..... Never again.... read more

I used to go into here with my dad in high school, had no problems. When I started buying my own tires by myself, I was met with the most rude and patronizing sales reps I've ever encountered in a place offering auto supplies. Not only that, but they INSISTED that my warranty (which i had brought with me, on paper) on the four tires I got replaced only covered three of them, claiming the one I blew, conveniently, "wasn't one of theirs" which made no sense because I didn't go anywhere else until then. Even after I showed them the warranty which specifically covered all four of them, one of the reps led me outside and jabbed a finger at the one I popped, as though trying to rub it further in my face that I was somehow wrong. I was so tempted to walk out but unfortunately I was stranded and needed a tire ASAP to get somewhere on time. However, if anyone asks me about where to get their tires, I always say "ANYWHERE BUT TOWN FAIR." read more

These guys really do a good job. Similar to going to the dentist, no one likes buying tires but this store eases the pain. Their price match guarantee is legitimate, so save yourself the cost of shipping the tires by just telling them the competitors website. You'll get the online price. The waiting area could be better, a common theme with tire stores, which is why I drop the vehicle off and pick it up when the work is done. The other reason is that there is no such thing as an appointment at any tire store - not a real appointment so don't set yourself up for the disappointment of a long wait. Today I got a slow leak repaired and tires rotated at no charge, a benefit from having bought the tires here. There are a lot of places to buy tires and clearly a lot of things to complain about in getting it done so make it easy on yourself with a price match and drop the vehicle off. If you call to confirm the job is done before you pick it up it works out great. Joshua's focus on customer service is commendable each & every time I visit. read more

rude, incompetent, poor selection and incredibly poor service. I brought my car in today for 4 new rather expensive tires and a newly purchased wheel to replace one with bad curb rash. I explicitly explained to the millennial salesperson that I wanted the rashed wheel replaced, and the tpms sensor swapped to the new wheel from the damaged one. Not only was the wheel not swapped, but they moved the damaged wheel from the front of the car. After finding this after my car was supposedly ready, I got attitude from the condescending salesperson (supposedly male). I had to wait another 40 minutes for the car to be ready and when it was, said salesperson didn't immediately give me my keys so I could pickup the vehicle. They also did the "alignment" prior to replacing the tires. Given the poor customer service, attitude and poor selection. I would recommend that anyone go elsewhere for tires. read more

Went to the waterbury ct store located on lakewood rd the other day to get tires and it was absolutely horrible.  Everyone was helpful and nice but Dan in the back was a little "too" nice? I guess they couldn't find some key for the wheel lugs and i wasn't sure if i even had one. He was nice enough to get them off for me but came back to get me and kinda force me into the shop to look for that thing even when the tires were already off. As I'm digging threw all my crap in the trunk he kept coming over to "check up" on me and I can hear him mumbling things under his breath and he was super close to me asking personal questions pretty much borderline sexual harassment. Almost felt as he wanted something from me in return for him helping me. I finally found this thing and ran back to the waiting area freaked out and uncomfortable! After my car was done he walked up to me and gave me my keys and I was trying to leave he just kept talking and almost followed me outside. I wanted to get up and make a formal complaint but I figured company's like this would sweep it under the rug and wouldn't be worth it.
