nails and the beach

This place is a game changer. I came in with my father and we got treated like absolute family. The lady who did my nails was so sweet and communicated so well. Everyone there is friendly, and they even took us when we came late. I love the way they do french tips, always so classy but colorful for the summertime. Big yes to this store!

The ring finger

Walked in last week to get my set of acrylics removed and redone. The woman doing my nails did not put on acrylic but only dip on my nails. I didn't say anything in hopes that it would be fine. I had a nail break within hours of getting them done. Then three more broke throughout the week. I went in today to get them redone and they did HORRIBLY. This is after I told them to fix it twice. I have never left a review but I would recommend going anywhere else in Bel Air except this place.

Almond shaped full set. Charge: $35.

This was my first time here. Had an appointment, waited 30 minutes after it to get in. They are a very busy shop. They are very loyal to their regulars, two came in after me with appointment times after mine but got seen before I got called. I can see why some wait even with appointments. The staff make sure at every turn that you as a customer are happy, and will redo or change something if not. The woman next to me didn't like the colors she picked, and even though almost all nails were complete the man helping her started from scratch so that she wouldn't leave displeased. Customer service is important to them. I got almond nails (full set), some are sharp points and some are rounded, but because I got a very dark color and they're so short that that's not incredibly easily noticed. The only reason I'm not "over the moon": I called ahead and came in being told that my cost would be $25, then when I checked out got told it would be $30, after the work was done. When I left and checked my bank statement, I got charged $35. I'm not comfortable with the inconsistency in costs. *Note in response to some other reviews: Sonny is very humorous, I can see why some who overheard him might get offended but he never jokes with anyone but his regulars, who joke right back. It's all in good fun.

Location is nice BUT.. my gel manicure was not a manicure at all. She didn't touch my cuticles with tools or oil nor did I receive a hand massage. Apparently it's an option but she didn't even ask me what I wanted. My nails looks like a 10 year old did them. Clumpy as ever (refer to pics). Then I asked if I could get my eyebrows done.. stressed to the lady that I DID NOT want waxing but I wanted threading. She said yes then proceeded to put wax on my eyebrows!! Immediately told her NO! I said threading and she said "oh". I will NEVER go back to this place.

My 10 year olds toes.

Took my 2 daughters ages 10 and 14 today as well as myself. I had a gel manicure and a pedicure. My pedicure lasted all of 20 minutes from start to finish then onto my manicure where she filed my nails and painted them. No soaking of my hands, no lotion, nothing. My 10 year old had her nails filed and painted clear and a pedicure which was all finished within 15 minutes. My 14 year old had my same experience. I ended up paying a whopping 121.00 with tip. I will never go back and my toes are smudged.

Very blotchy and clumpy gel manicure

Not very friendly service. You have to be VERY specific on what you want or they will not try their hardest. It's an extra $10 for cuticle and hand care during any manicure you get. $18 for gel manicure so I wasn't expecting great quality. I asked for an extra coat and the lady told me no. The next day my nails chipped and I went back and asked if she'd redo them for me. Only painted the chipped part and then 3 hours later it chipped again. I will only go here if I'm in need of a quick manicure. I was in and out in 15 minutes.

Both wife and I had mani-pedis here. Done in under an hour...terrible experience...wife's nail…read morepolish lasted about 2 days...everyone was in a rush. Parking is dreadful unless you want to walk a few blocks.

If I could give less than 1 star I would!!!!…read more I called the salon at 4:30 pm to ask if anyone was available for my daughter and me to come in for a fill and two pedicures. The woman on the phone asked how long it would take us to get there -- I said 10 minutes -- and she replied, "Yes, we can take you in 10 minutes." Perfect, right? Wrong. Left there at 845pm!!!!! Without even an apology. We rushed there and then sat for over 30 minutes before they even started one pedicure. I did ask if we can have pedicures at the same time. She said they didn't have 2 people available. I wish she would have said that on the phone. My daughter went first. There were stools stacked on top of all of the pedicure chairs, and I actually had to ask if I could sit next to her -- which felt like an inconvenience to them. Our pedicures were very minimal maybe 15-20 minutes, cut way past the quick and polish wasn't good, with no massage or lotion and just a quick coat of oil at the end. Almost like just a polish change. When it was finally my turn, the same girl started my pedicure, and before I could even get settled, another woman (who seemed to be the manager or owner) suddenly grabbed my hands to start my nails at the same time. I said to her "hold on please I like to wear a mask for dust allergies", and she snapped, "Find your mask, I'll be back," and never returned -- which was honestly fine, because doing both at once is not relaxing anyway. They did the lady before us like this as well, at the same time. The oil was so drenched on my legs, I had to ask for a towel so I could pull my pants down. The salon itself was dirty, with the front door wide open letting dust and debris blow in. I ended up waiting over an hour and a half before anyone even started my fill. Another customer told me she had a 6:00 appointment and wasn't started until 7:10. The only positive was the young man who finally did my nails -- he was polite and took his time. Unfortunately, the color came out thick and uneven (not his fault), but at that point, I just wanted to be done and out of there so I didn't say anything. When I went to pay, the woman said, "It's $145, but I'll make it $140 -- I'll give you $5 off for being so patient." I said, "Patient? I didn't have a choice -- I've been here for four hours!" No real apology, just that tiny discount, which honestly felt more insulting than helpful. I told her she should have said NO when I called to see if they were available. All in all, this was one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had -- disorganized, unprofessional, dirty, and not remotely relaxing. I would never go back to Red Nail Bar, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They should be ashamed and change their ways and not think their time is worth more than others. I'll make sure I share my experience so others know not to go to Red Nail Bar.
