Ocean City Boardwalk is an ocean side board (wooden planked) walking area surrounded with activities, eateries, ice cream parlours and a couple of Ferris wheels operating. A small museum providing insightful local history which can be of interest to the visitors, especially the kids, is also there. Buzzing with tourists aswell as locals, there is lots of excitement to be seen around. Metered parking spots are available at a short walking distance. Wow! What an experience! My first visit to the Boardwalk was for Oceans Calling; I've never experienced a music festival with so much support and community. The festival encompassed and closed off portions of the Boardwalk and it was amazing being able to support local businesses (in their business!) while at a festival. The community here was top notch, and the festival organizers really did an amazing job. Have to call out the staff at the Boardwalk public restrooms - they kept the women's room pristine! Never, EVER have I experienced such clean restrooms at a music festival OR at a public beach. read more

This was my first trip to Ocean City, and I loved it! My boyfriend took me on a day trip for my birthday, and it was amazing. I love a good boardwalk, and this one was decent. The shops and restaurants are dated, but they give the city nostalgia and an antiquated calm. Definitely going back. read more

Just a couple of complaints and only because I have friends and family special needs I saw people in scooters and they weren't really able to get to the concert. It was too far. The accessibility was hard and all the planks people were standing on because the sand was a lot to walk on was it a totally amazing day absolutely and the boardwalk is beautiful. All the people in staff were totally friendly and nice and it was a great idea to have people fill bags up of bottles to get free T-shirts I found that the food on the boardwalk was a lot better than the food in the concert. That was just a personal observation Love the bands love the tributes that they did to our member that's fallen and fighting for his life for throat cancer three doors down was not forgotten. Nickelback did an amazing job. Saliva did an amazing job getting the crowd going and we had so much fun every day. Sun was a lot. There was no shade, so be prepared to wear your hats, but this was an event and I could see going again and again what I absolutely go always. Do I think this is for everybody? Absolutely not you come out pretty beaten up even if you are in shape from the sun and the sand walking I will say there were plenty of porta potties accessible to all I will say there were plenty of hydration stations thank you very much, and I will admit that I was a bit perturbed on the transportation from to and from the buses it seemed everybody wanted to shut down the concert ended, and they left the boardwalk open a little longer. Someone might lingered it because it took us over an hour to get home anyway and bought more food and bought more revenue, but I don't know what is with the powers that be so maybe there was logic to this. A must visit spot in ocean city . Boardwalk is a happening place . Lots of activities for kids and adults .. lots of shopping , magic shows , kids games , restaurants , bars etc . Beach volleyball is quite common here . Love this beach . Parking is a bit crazy but we got it 5 mins away from boardwalk. You can spend atleast 5-8 hours here . Overall a very good place .. even though it's expensive , it's a must visit attraction when in ocean city ... read more

While on a family trip to Ocean City in July we went over to check out the boardwalk. There was limited free parking so we utilized paid parking a few blocks away. The boardwalk is very long. Much longer than the boardwalks at Coney Island (NY) or Santa Cruz (CA). There are a lot of places to get something to eat and drink and a number of arcades. There are also a lot of shops to buy items but some of them were selling clothing items with quasi-obscene references. I am usually quite liberal when it comes to questionable content but this stuff crossed the line for a family focused attraction. There is an area with rides plus a pier (which costs $1) if you want to walk out on. I paid the $1 just to take in the view and take some pictures but I would never do it again. Most of the people on the pier were fishing, Also there were lots of locks along the fence that people put there to commemorate special moments. The boardwalk was very clean and well maintained. Overall this is a great place to go and hang out even if you don't spend time on the beach. read more

This is a very long boardwalk with access to a lot of eateries, shops and bars. In the off season its pretty much a ghost town and that actually makes me want to see it in the summertime just to experience the excitement of the busy boardwalk on the beach There is an amusement park called Jolly Roger's on the far end with a huge pay parking lot There is several arcades and tons of ice cream and food stands The boardwalk is also a smoke free zone including vaping. I love the boardwalk. We visited during the week (and before Labor Day). It wasn't crowded. Many of the old souvenir stores were closed. We ate at Phillips and took a walk on the boardwalk. read more

Ocean city needs a police task force to arrest every smoker who breaks the law. No warnings. There are signs up everywhere. They scream "FAMILY FRIENDLY FUN" in every commercial that I see. What... secondhand smoke for the whole family? Last summer I saw two different policemen ride past a guy smoking on the boardwalk within a matter of minutes. It's disgusting. They really need to get a handle on it. Now that my rant is over... I do enjoy biking in the morning (this is when I notice the smoking issue the most) and strolling in the evenings stopping in the stores, restaurants, and arcades. The tram is nice for people who have issues walking longer distances, although the price is quite high considering what it cost to ride the bus all day but I think the price is high to deter riders who don't really want to use the service. The boardwalk has different sections to it... Up by the pier (the south end) there are some historic OCMD displays that haven't changed in years but are still cool to check out. The locks on the pier itself is a really dumb idea that is going to lead to workers removing your trash. read more

Beautiful boardwalk that has lots of shops underneath the dozens of hotels. The boardwalk is in excellent shape, you can see where they replace boards that become cracked or worn. It's very clean here with trash bins everywhere. We felt very safe as we walked up and down it, day and night. read more

The boardwalk was one of my favorite places to spend time in Ocean City. Our hotel was on it so we walked up and down a lot. There are a few arcades, bars, restaurants, and many stores that sell nearly all the same things. It's great exercise so disregard those trolleys and take a walk to the amusement park at the one end for a fun few hours. read more

There's something about the Boardwalk. It's just fun! Tons of shops, eateries, ice cream galore, amazing sandcastle art and there's Trimpers amusement park too. Personally I feel like it's extremely overrated. It's not bad, at least the first five minutes of the walk. But then you see the same 3 dodgy stores over and over again, mixed with the scorching heat and the sketchy characters especially later in the day and it goes from "eh" to "bleh". Now don't get me wrong, I love Ocean City, so by extension I like the boardwalk (because it's tied to the name). But it's nothing to rave about, at least not to the degree that people do. But there's a few good stores that are enjoyable to go to, and it's become a hobby of mine to see what new trendy topic is screen printed on every t-shirt. I like it, but it's definitely not as good as people say it is. read more

This week is hot rod week and the boardwalk was great. The rides are shut down, however a lot of the stores and restaurants are still open. Wasn't very crowded, and the people that were there were there to enjoy themselves not harass others. read more
