We needed a place with a kitchen that was scent free due to some dietary restrictions and other issues. Scented hotels cause some medical issues I would rather not experience. This hotel had a very comfortable room, and do not use scents in the lobby or other common areas. The room was clean, and we had a small dog with us The hotel staff was very approachable and helpful locating a suitable, quiet-enough room that met all our needs--with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. That type of room is only available on the traffic side of the hotel, so I recommend asking for a high floor, it makes a big difference. They also had a laundry room with four machines that did not require payment of any kind. It was really handy to do laundry while having breakfast or sitting in the hot tub. Usually when one hears that there is a free breakfast, its the usual scrambled eggs and some kind of meat to go along with it. This hotel went beyond that expectation with a very good crustless quiche that was the size of a cupcake, and for those who eat meat, a biscuit, ham and cheese sandwich. Also more juice selections beyond orange juice, and a very responsive staff that refilled anything they ran out of almost immediately. The dining area had a relaxing view of some trees, and for warmer weather, an outdoor area to sit. I also used the jacuzzi that was not too overloaded with chemicals, and was actually hot instead of warm like a bath tub, like many hotels keep the water. Carpet beetles!!! We stayed in room 418 on 9/21-9/23. It's a pet friendly room. It was surface clean-ish, but there was a bunch of fur build up in the corners and crevices of the room, behind the bed, etc. Housekeeping is definitely not cleaning with the vacuum wand to get the corners and is not moving the bed to clean under or behind it. I inspected the room for signs of bedbugs when we first arrived and found none. (Whew!) When packing up to leave I saw a carpet beetle larvae crawling on the wall near the night stand. I was alarmed and tore the bed apart only to find another fat larvae crawling between the box spring and mattress. There was an exoskeleton on the windowsill too. I battled carpet beetles over a decade ago after moving into an infested apartment, so I am familiar with what a nightmare they are. We reported the issue to the front desk and got an apology and 5000 points added to our account. That's it. Fast forward 3 weeks. Despite quarantining everything we took with us on the trip and giving things a good wash and vacuum before they were brought into the house, we are now dealing with the beginnings of a carpet beetle infestation in our home. Ive found about 20 larvae this last week. I've spent the last weekend vacuuming everything thoroughly and have an exterminator coming out later this week to treat our home so we hopefully get on top of this. Beyond the cleanliness and carpet beetle issue, the hotel amenities were nice and the staff were friendly, so I gave two stars for that.... Now we get to spend time daily trying not to freak out over this potential infestation in my home and cleaning everything deeply again, and again, and again... What a nightmare. :( read more

Both the check in and check out of the hotel is easy. The layout of the hotel is quite confusing because you really don't know where to check in at unless you find the signs on the door and the elevator to get to your rooms is a long distance away from the lobby. It really should be closer for people who are handicap. My room is very clean and organized. I do have to say the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. I tossed and turned all night long because I just couldn't get comfortable. They should really have detachable showerheads to use as well. It would make things so much easier. But really just for these few minor things I would stay here again I found every area that I went to very clean tidy and just fresh not any bad odors or anything. read more

** POST-COVID REVIEW ** Stayed her on points for an extra long Labor Day getaway to Bellingham. Hotel is very nice and has a kitchenette and a very generously sized fridge, which helped us not eat out a whole lot. They have a lot of amenities, including a gym and a hot tub. Be warned you HAVE to make a reservation for them, as they are only one family at a time. It is kinda, though, nice having the hot tub by yourself. There's a really nice shared patio and lobby between this and the Springhill Suites. The gym/pool are also shared as well. It's very easy to get between the hotels. Townplace does have its own grill and grill tools to rent, if you need it. Note that the hotel is not really walkable to anything and is still about 10 min away from the downtown area. Not a huge deal if you have a car, like we do, but something to keep in mind. It's very close to COSTCO though, which is handy. We enjoyed our stay and would easily stay here again. Stayed for a weekend for a change of pace. We opted for the two bedroom suite to accommodate the four of us. The bed was one of the more comfortable beds I have slept in. Usually I have a hard time getting comfy in the hotel bed, but this time I was able to fall asleep without issue. The room also had excellent soundproofing. I did not hear anyone in the hallways, and with the window closed, I could not hear the traffic going by. I could occasionally hear a train whistle, but it was not obtrusive at all. There were two "to-go" breakfast options each morning with a little something for everyone. Having the in-room kitchen allowed us to cook more and eat out less, which was nice. The full sized coffee pot was a nice addition also. The pool and workout room were available by reservation only which I really enjoyed. It was nice to have the pool and hot tub to ourselves, it added to the relaxation. Being able to reserve the workout room was great too; we just cranked up our music and worked out without interruption. Sanitizing spray was provided at both locations and guests are asked to sanitize before and after use. On the other side of things, there were a few cons. There was a noticeable dearth of USB ports which I have gotten quite accustomed to over the last couple of years. Usually there are one or two in each lamp at the bedside, or in the outlets in the rooms, but there were none, save for the one in the clock radio. The master bedroom did not have an en suite bathroom which I found odd; there was certainly enough room in the wall between the bedroom and bathroom to add a door. The TV in the kiddos room did not work as the coaxial cable was literally broken. When we called down to alert the front desk, we were told that no one could come and fix it until the next day, which was a bit disappointing. Cable-wise, there was the usual channels, plus HBO, however no on-demand channels, or premium movies on-demand which most hotels have. The living room/sitting area could seat three comfortably, it would have been nice to have comfortable seating for 4 so we could have watched a movie as a family. It would have also been nice to have a desk/work station in this area (perhaps with a USB port) as the lap table wasn't quite effective for doing work. The kitchen was nice to have, but I was left to question its cleanliness when I found dishes in the microwave and, weirdly, a tea bag in the toaster. There were plates, bowls and glasses for four, but forks and spoons for 3. While there were pots and pans, there was no baking sheets or potholders provided. The floor in the kitchen was horribly scratched from the stove being moved in and out of place and the walls in the entry way were scuffed and dirty. The stay was comfortable, but the rooms could definitely use some updating and refreshing. Every staff member I encountered were friendly and accommodating and all working very hard, but obviously overworked and feeling the push to do more with less. read more

I was torn on how to rate this property. Once thing I can say for sure is that management has cut staff to a horrific low level and because of that customer service has tanked. There was a few areas of the room that was not clean, the kitchen was missing a lot of items and the coax cable in one of the rooms was broken so the TV did not work. When I called down to get it fixed I was dismissed and told I would have to call back the next day with no promised follow up. This is my seventh stay here and it just gets better... Warm and inviting, your first impression of the Marriott promise just starts to begin when you enter the lobby and are greeted by the front desk hosts...courteous, thankful for your business...just stands out...!!! My room...one bedroom suite with FULL kitchen...refrigerator, dishwasher, cutlery, and dishes...look closer, I found in the cupboards, a toaster, and on the kitchen counter was a full size coffee maker...!!! Admiring my room, I found a dining room table, working desk, a living room with sofa and chairs, and a nice flat screen TV. A separate bedroom with king bed, wonderful linen, blankets and pillows...devine...!!! Bathroom was very larger, lots of room, perfect tub/shower, and vanity. My room was also handicap friendly, with wider doors, lower reachable fixtures...very thoughtful layout. If that's not enough, there is a pool and a pretty good fitness room, and out front there is a large BBQ on the patio...oh, and while street level parking is provided, and it fills up quickly, I discovered the underground parking garage...secured...you will need your room key card to enter. Perfect. I obviously have enjoyed my stay...while I much prefer being at home, when business takes me on the road, the TownePlace is very comforting. Breakfast in the morning is provided. This place was such a wonderful place to stay! The room we stayed in had a stove cooktop, dishwasher, fridge, and microwave. It also had a couch for lounging in! I loved that I could cook healthy food instead of always eating out if I wanted to. The room was clean, spacious, and all of the employees were extremely nice. We are gold elite members so they gave us a $5 off coupon to use off food in their restaurant and bar area. They had a lot of great food options and a great happy hour menu. The exercise room has lots of exercise equipment that seemed new or in excellent condition and the room was large and spacious. They had lots of breakfast options such as muffins, fruit, eggs, yogurt, a waffle machine, bagels, egg muffins, scones, and so much more! They have coffee you can grab throughout the day as well as water to fill up your water bottle. They have lots of juices as well. Employees come around to inform you that there are gluten free options and will clear your plate when you are done eating! I would definitely recommend staying here! read more

I stayed here on a late night drive en route to Vancouver. The front desk was staffed by a perky lady named Rachel, who seemed like she was a well caffeinated night owl eager to help me check in. Effortlessly I got my key and was told the directions to my room. As I was unpacking I realized I forgot my toothbrust and toothpaste and when I called down to the front desk she saved me with a spare toothbrush and toothpaste that they supply to their busy forgetful travellers. The room itself feels like a clean cozy apartment with couch and huge closet...it has a kitchenette and I think they even have shopping services, so this is a great place for long term biz travel. You could even borrow a blender and possibly other appliances! They also have a patio grill for BBQing. The breakfast was not bad either. They have a mystery chicken meat sausage, eggs, fruit, coffee, all included for all guests. Couldn't really ask for much more for this type of hotel. Checked out after breakfast really just as easily as I checked in and was back on the road in no time! read more

TL;DR: I want to go back! We were shocked by the value and quality of the room! First off, the service was great. I was traveling with my SO and his parents. Keeping in mind his parents are of the "boomer" gen, the service was so kind and patient. Second, the rooms were great! Large, clean, so well decorated, and comfy! We were shocked what we got for what we paid- amazing value. Our room had a small kitchen (fridge, stove top, mini-oven, counter space, sink, the whole thing!), couch and TV, bathroom, and then a bedroom. His parents room had all the same plus a large dining table! The bed was huge, soft, and comfy. We slept great! The sheets were clean and the pillows great. The room was quiet. We loved it and will for sure make this our go-to place to stay in the future. read more

Stop by for a night coming from Canada. This property is newly built and connected to the hotel next door Spring Hill. We arrived a little after 7pm and no one was at the desk. I'd say we were waiting for about 2mins when Lindsay came and apologized for the wait. She was nice and friendly. She mentioned about breakfast and when and where it would be. I wish she had mentioned the closet elevator because we ended up going around as opposed to having the elevator next to the snack shop. Entering our room it was pretty large and it comes with kitchenette with utensils, pots, pan, cutting board, soap,sponge, plates, knifes, large refrigerator, microwave, the whole works. Please bring your own oil, and food and I would pre wash everything you use just in case the previous users didn't. Clean and sanitized the area in some cases it's very greasy. There's also a coffee maker next to area. The closet is huge with a laundry basket, hangers and hooks. Large safe is also in the closet. There's also a huge desk that turns into a dining table for eating. Couch that turns into a sofa was a little dirty with crumbs when we opened the sofa. Stains were also discovered on the pillow shams. Please look at pictures. Tv is also large and located next to the bed. AC was working great and didn't give use sound problems. Bathrooms are large and spacious with complimentary soap, shampoo and lotion. Bed was nice and soft and slept like a baby. Complimentary breakfast was ok just the basic eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffles, yogurt, banana and more. Coffee is located around the corner. Hard to find at first but it's there. Pool and gym and large came with a cool hot tub with turbo jets. Outside there's an electric car spot for 2 so this property has that if you need it. Parking is limited due to sharing it with the hotel next door but there is a parking garage down below which you will need to drive around the property to get to. They also have a large grill for grilling steaks but it outside in the front patio. I would stay here again because it's nice location and close to the Bellis Fair mall read more

We arrived with our dog, got an upgrade to a two bedroom suite. Super clean and really very nice. Very friendly young woman greater us and got us all the room keys, parking certificate, etc. The suite is modern and fresh looking. It's close to the freeway, but not right on the freeway, so it's considerably quieter. I noticed that there were 2 electric car chargers out front. This would be great if we had brought the electric car, but we didn't. Still, good to know. My pup enjoyed sniffing around and I love that it's a nice clean hotel room that I can have him be with us. read more

This is absolutely my place to stay when in Bellingham based on this first visit. I was very impressed: the room was spotless, great service, cozy and with a comfy bed to state just a few. The place is pretty new and it looked very well maintained. I usually do my business with Marriott and typically don't expect any less.  We stayed at a one bedroom suite with a king size bed, sofa bed, and a full kitchen. The added bonus for us was that the room was handicap accessible and that gave us a larger bathroom size. There are lots of storage areas and a good size closet. They have great amenities with free parking. The daily complimentary breakfast buffet is always appreciated. The location worked for me because it's about a 1.5 hr drive (90ish miles) from Seattle and about another 1.5 hour drive (50ish miles) from Vancouver, BC. This gave us an opportunity to sightsee the surrounding areas of Bellingham. At the time of my travel, hotels in Vancouver were priced at the minimum of $280 a night. I had a great rate with Marriott and decided to lock in the deal. I can't ask for a more convenient and a serene location for a hotel. This hotel has many parks, museums, and outdoor activities nearby. It is also just minutes away from Bellis Fair Mall, grocery stores, and lots of local restaurants in the area. It's also a short drive from downtown Bellingham with bars, boutique, and coffee shops. TownPlace Suites Marriott has definitely earned my 5 stars! read more

This place is great! Some friends and I made the trip to Bellingham for a concert and needed a place to crash for the night, and this place is not only inexpensive and nice, it's also dog-friendly! It was great being able to bring our furry friends and not have to worry about finding a place to board them. Our suite had two bedrooms (one with a king bed and one with two queens), two bathrooms, and a full kitchen. There was a nice living room area as well - we had plenty of space to chill. Everything was super-clean and seemed in great condition. There were all kinds of signs about the things you could borrow from the front desk - grilling tools, spices, etc. We had coffee stocked in the room and although we didn't make use of the free breakfast, it's provided until 9:30am. The hotel also has a shuttle to take you out and about, and when it's not available or taking too long, they'll pay for your taxi instead. The shuttle is first come, first served, so if you ask for it and it's already out, you may have to wait 20+ minutes -- but in our case, they called us a cab instead and took care of the payment. It was pretty awesome having a guaranteed ride home on New Year's Eve and not having to cross our fingers & hope to get an Uber! read more

Short version: Stay here. Super clean hotel (looks brand new). All the staff is very nice. Beds are SUPER comfy. My suite was SO clean and welcoming. Nice, modern furniture. Big room, with kitchen (all but an oven), work space, couch and coffee table. Big bathroom, lots of fluffy towels. Breakfast was really good, in a very open, bright room. Did I say SUPER nice staff? They are. And, the BEST: The closet in the suite. Lots of shelving and space and perfect for a long stay. Big gym and indoor pool (neither of which I used, but I saw them). Free parking, free wifi. Location: Within a mile or 2 there is every store, restaurant, chain, mall, you can ever hope for. Best laundry room EVER; it's on the first floor - lots of nice, new washers and dryers; and the best is it is free - you don't need quarters. Superior hotel. Now, the looooooong: Before I get into how fabulous this hotel is, let's talk about Nakayla. Nakayla greeted me SO friendly and with such a great attitude. Coming into a hotel after a hard day's travel (or an easy day's) and being greeted by someone like her is wonderful. She has exactly the kind of personality a person should have who greets people coming into a business. She was very knowledgeable about some things that I asked her, and told me about the gym, the pool, the breakfast, and anything else I could possibly need or want to know. I've been travelling for over a month now, staying every night in hotels, and she is the best employee I have met. Others are nice too, but she just went above and beyond. Good hire, Marriott! Two more wonderful employees were Robin at the desk in the morning (very nice and helpful), and a guy named Mike who keeps the place looking spiffy (and he looks like Kris Kringle!). These were such great employees also. Now, on to this place. SO great. I am kinda new to TownePlace Suites (I stay FF Inn, Res Inn, and Holiday Inn Express usually). I am really loving these TownePlace Suites. There's a full kitchen (including sink, microwave, frig, stove top & dishwasher). The closet is HUGE for storing your stuff (good for long term). There's really, really nice shelving inside of the closet, which I understand comes from The Container Store - I loved it - it's nice to have shelves to put all your stuff on! There is a ton of storage space too at the work desk, cabinets and upper cubbys to store your junk (can you tell I like storage areas?). The room was bright and clean, and the bed was comfy, and the bathroom is large, and functional and has an adorable shower curtain. There's also a couch area and some end tables. The furnishings are modern and pleasant. The hotel common areas are also very nice and well kept. The lobby is beautiful. I guess there's not much more I can say. Can you tell I loved it here? I was here for 3 nights, and I didn't want to leave. This is a beautiful area of Washington. And, the best part was I used my Marriott points so it was free, free, free! The location is excellent off I-5. There's a bunch of restaurants and shops and Walmart and other stuff about a mile and a half around the corner. When my travels bring me to his area again, I look forward to staying here again! read more

This hotel was... it was okay. I mean, I'm not going to lie, there were some amazing things! The room I stayed in was very nice and put together, topped off with an extra special surprise of my name being on the tv, which I thought was super awesome. There was a full size kitchen, with a regular fridge (not mini), stove, microwave, and dishwasher, which was so awesome. I would've stayed here another night, but I was only there for a two day trip and had the trip booked months in advance. I really liked the room. But now, for the things that... weren't so amazing. The food tasted absolutely awful. I know it was free breakfast, but seriously, the butter was super weird tasting, the eggs were just shit, the bacon was thinner than paper, and overall they obviously didn't try and put any of the extra fanciness that they put into those signs in the room into the food. And when we entered (through the wrong door, which was not clearly marked) the entire lobby floor was covered in leaves blown in from outside and it made it look so bad. Part of what made me rank down the stars was the fact that they clearly put most of their funding and effort into over dramatizing how amazing their place was instead of actually putting it all into an amazing experience. I will say though, they had a nice room and nice service, which was enough for a good stay. I unfortunately don't know exactly how their booking process is because the head of the trip I was on booked the place, but it sounded like all was well and good in that category. ok, let's be real here. This location is fairly new, about 5 years old. Newness is wearing away. Great staff, quiet, Free breakfast. Again they have an EXCELLENT STAFF. I would give this place 4 to even 5 stars BUT it is not deserved. The Cable offered is a joke, you cannot get CBS, you can't even stream others like Paramount or even Hulu. You waste a lot of time just trying to a grill thru a very slow menu. The WiFi IS WEAK! I'm Sorry, but this is unacceptable. I can't do all my work with it. The Starbucks next door has much better Wi-Fi btw, again a time killer since you have to leave the comfort of your own room to do this.....Another huge issue is the Security Their is NO Security. A recent vehicle break in the "Secured gated" carport (No cameras), caused damage to vehicles. This Hotel bears NO RESPONSIBILITY for it either. Suppose to be secure inside carport. IT IS NOT! There is a small homeless encampment next door....and growing This hotel? They have refused to take responsibility for the LACK OF SECURITY! They have a Lack of Responsibilty sign posted like some low end motel would provide. This is a Part of the Marriott Company. Frankly, I would recommend NOT staying here till they step up and address these critical issues. read more

We had a great experience at this hotel. We stayed here in a two bedroom on our way to Vancouver. The hotel is fresh and new, the staff was sooo polite and helpful. The rooms are outfitted nicely and the hotel has a secure parking garage. I will definitely recommend this property to anyone needing overnight accommodations in the area. I however do not recommend the bar in the connected spring hill by Marriott. The server was rude and short with most guests and clearly does not enjoy his job. read more

The establishment is conjoined with Springhill Suites. Check-in was awkward because management elected to close the TownePlace lobby and require all guests check-in via Springhill Suites. At the time, the clerk informed us that any calls to the front desk would go unanswered since no one was at the TownePlace desk. Her advice was to use my cell phone to call the Springhill Suites desk. Gee whiz, $119 per night and no way to call the desk with a house phone. Pleasantly surprised !!! We have a family of 5 with 3 Littles so the 2 bedroom suite was perfect! A king sized master, double queen bedroom for the 2nd room & a cozy living room with dining table and a small kitchen! The living room has a decent sized accent chair & a small couch with a chaise/ ottoman accent. Dining table has 4 chairs! It's not fancy but it's very nice and no need to worry about kids breaking any fancy decor pieces. Also pool was open for reservations only - we were bummed we hadn't checked prior to our visit bc we all love a good swim! Masks & social distancing are required. Breakfast is handed out in bags instead of buffet style (pre covid). Kitchen has minimal dish items stocked for cooking too!!! The front desk is currently closed so check in is thru the spring hill suites front desk then your key card gets you into your building. Even with that, no issues. :) Give it a whirl! They aren't snobby here like at Four Points. read more

I got to have a stay-cation and stay at the TownePlace Suites and absolutely loved my experience! We were greeted by Megan when checking in and she couldn't have been more friendly, sweet, and nice to get to meet and talk with. She overheard it was my birthday celebration, and offered two complimentary desserts from their hotel restaurant! The desserts were delicious, and was such a thoughtful gesture to offer. Each person we got to meet offered such great customer service and were so friendly! Our room was so clean, crisp, comfortable, and relaxing. Not sure if Marriott in general has lowered their standards or if it's just here. 1. I have status with Marriott, was not offered a complimentary room upgrade because of my length of stay although rooms were available, which is the stipulation in the rewards member guidelines online, that the only time you will not be upgraded is if there isn't a room available. 2. Upon arrival I noticed the room was not as clean as they typically are, streaky mirror, items on the floor that were never vacuumed. I was nice and just let the front desk know, hey this room was not cleaned up to typical standards, so I thought. 3. I do not require service daily, I'm perfectly happy with one 'deep clean' weekly. Mine was scheduled for today. I arrived after work there are dishes in the sink, the television was on, it was apparent the floors were not clean, the mirror was not cleaned. They did not provide any toilet paper and I had to go to the desk to get some. Very disappointed with this place. Currently looking for another hotel to spend the next few months at. read more

Very small room, the AC wad loud ( like a police siren), mold on the shower curtin and nails poking through the floor between the bathroom and the room. went to the pool, another man came in to the pool and my wife was in the hot tub while my 3 year old was in the area with us. The man walked in and without asking turned on the jets scaring my daughter and proceeded to enter the hot tub. My wife and daughter mover to the pool while the man started to have his "way" with the jets!!!!!!! We left the area and informed the front desk. I have traveled a lot for work and this has to be the worst hotel I have stayed at. I would give a zero if I could. read more

Love the underground parking. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite... Nice and clean. Beds are not my favorite. Quiet and comfortable. The pool was great for the kids. They have a bar on premise so that was handy. They will also shuttle you anywhere in a 5 mile radius . read more

This is the second time we have stayed here. We were planning to stay with family after the first night but it was so comfortable and convenient we decided to stay here the whole trip. Service is consistently friendly and professional. We were even offered a slightly bigger room since it was available and it was fantastic. It was like staying in a luxury apartment. They really think of everything you could possibly want. Anything you ever needed was already there or very easy to get. Numerous outlets and USB plug ins to charge devices all in convenient locations in the room. Probably the CLEANEST tub/shower I have ever seen. It is "bath worthy" which is saying a lot if you know my bathing in strange tub policy. The only semi-negative thing I can say is that the breakfast seemed sub-par compared to the rest of the hotel. Marriott usually does well for me and this was no exception. Stayed in a huge, two-bedroom suite with lots of room to spread out. The pool was warm, but crowded. The fitness room has some cardio and a few weights. Breakfast in the morning was amazing. Between the buffet in this facility and the larger one in the adjoining hotel, I found plenty to keep me busy. read more

This is a great hotel that is set up for an extended stay. It has all the comforts of home. The bed was very comfortable and check in was a breeze. I went to the Springhill Suites to eat ordered wings. They were large and seasoned well. It typically comes with potatoes but I swapped it for a salad. This was 8 or 9 dollars. Fantastic! The best part of the night was the bartender who was entertaining, fun and attentive. read more

The only problem with this hotel is that I was only there for 1 night. Great location right near the freeway, it was snowing and they had easy garage parking. The wifi was easy to connect to and fast. The bed was very comfortable and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Definitely coming back next time. read more

I rarely give hotel reviews on Yelp, until now. I've stated at numerous hotels in B'ham for business & pleasure trips. The new TownePlace is conveniently located, yet isn't a scenic vacation destination. I've paid twice the price to stay at the charming Chrysalis with a scenic bay view, but the Chrysalis staff are dismissively bored & inattentive. The TownePlace, in contrast, has some of the nicest, genuinely interested & professional staff in all of B'ham. The rooms are clean, well organized and the property is meticulously maintained. My studio with kitchenette made my long stay much more comfortable. When I want the tourist scene, I drive to the Taylor Street dock & have Happy Hour at Keenan's inside the Chrysalis. When I want a place to stay, however, I'll always choose TownePlace. Robin & Autumn, at the front desk, are awesome in making me feel like a welcomed guest. read more

I stayed here Friday, 09/01/2017- as it was Labor Day Weekend all of the hotels were completely booked when I got in to town around midnight and unexpectedly needed a hotel room. This was one of the only hotels with an available room so I booked it. Upon arrival after midnight the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly, got me set up quickly with the last room they had available (overpriced at $187.09/night, but fairly understandable due to holiday). On walking in to the room I noticed that the bed was made sloppily and it looked a bit cluttered- things weren't nice and straightened as I normally expect from Marriott, but given that it was so late and I had just driven several hours I hopped right in to bed. When I woke in the morning and finally looked around I noticed that the room was dirty: living room was in disarray, kitchen was greasy, bathroom had hair all over the floor, counter and in the bathtub, the shampoo, lotion and conditioner were only partially full and there was garbage already in the garbage. I had to check out first thing in the morning- when I did so the gal at the front desk was not friendly. When I asked her to use a different card then the one I used for my deposit she scowled and said she had already run it, but she reversed it and used my other card. I asked her to make sure that I wouldn't be charged twice and she assured me I wouldn't. After I left the hotel I received a request to complete a survey regarding my stay and so I completed it and sent Marriott a list of the issues I had. Unfortunately, despite the issues during my stay I have yet to hear back from them and now, lo and behold, when I looked at my bank statement, I had been charged twice for my stay. It sounds as though others have had a lovely stay at this hotel; I unfortunately cannot say the same and am quite disappointed as I usually have such a great experience with Marriott. read more

We really enjoyed our stay here. Large, clean room with a well equipped kitchen. Large closet and desk area. The young lady at the front desk upon check in was so friendly. The breakfast had great options.. waffles, bagels, toast, muffins, coffee bread, all of your breakfast sandwich fixings, oatmeal, yogurt and toppings for both. The breakfast and parking are free which was very important for us. We will definitely stay again. read more

We needed a room to stay for the five of us while attending my mother's funeral. From start to finish with Cindy at SpringHill Suites to Megan at TownePlace Suites, we were treated respectfully and with sincerity. They made suggestions and didn't hesitate to give us a tour of the facilities. We decided to go with TownePlace Suites as it was our best accommodation for a family of 5, all adults. The room was clean, it had everything we needed, and if it wasn't there they were very willing to get it for us. The hotel is very pet friendly, there are places for your dog to go potty and play. My husband was thrilled with the gym. We will definitely use this place again based on its cleanliness, friendly atmosphere and accommodations. This is my favorite place to stay in Bellingham. It is practically brand-new, the staff are all wonderful, and they have done a great job insulating the walls. My bed backs up to the elevator, and I never hear a thing. They pack a lot into a small space. Full kitchen, huge comfy, cozy bed and even a pull out couch in the smaller rooms. I have a one bedroom "apartment" and it is so wonderful. It is a great location; close to downtown yet feels like it's out in the country. The breakfast selection is pretty good, but if you want a little bit more, you can have breakfast at the Springhill Suites next-door. You don't even have to go outside to get to their lobby. For the size of the place, they have a huge workout room. All of the equipment is in perfect condition. They also have a good size laundry room. I am staying for two weeks this time, and to save space in my suitcase, I did laundry yesterday to last me next week. I really can't say enough good things about this place. And, if you take the shuttle, I hope you get to experience Mike "Santa Claus". He's great! read more
