Stayed 4 nights for a baseball tournament. Room was comfortable with great A/C. During my stay the temperatures outside reached above 90. Thermostat was set to 71 and worked perfectly keeping the room cool. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Every tie I called for something, a staff member would show up promptly and happy to help. The location is also great, as it's just off the highway with a Walmart Supercenter directly across the street along with Starbucks and Panda Express. Only complaint is the sofa bed which doesn't really fold out to a bed. It's very uncomfortable, but will definitely stay here again if coming into the area. read more

We stayed here while in Medford, OR and we were very pleased with the accommodations. They only had a queen size bed and sofa bed but it worked out OK. The hotel staff was very nice and efficient by providing additional bedding for the sofa bed. It had a nice kitchenette which had pot and pans, silverware and cups. It had a full size refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast was pretty good and it was also pet friendly. This was a nice place to stay if only for one night. read more

I'm a Marriott fan and snob. This hotel staff was polite. The rooms were fine. It's the lack of a lobby or descent breakfast space that catches one of guard. The lobby seems an afterthought, a cubby hole to the right of the entry doors. The rather limited breakfast selection & limited seating area is to the left. This was a lifesaver!! We had to drive 4 hours to pick up my daughter and granddaughter due to a flight glitch. The suite with a kitchen and 2 bedrooms was wonderful. This is for the hotel itself and not the staff. The staff are 5 stars. The guy at the front (don't remember his name) was great and super nice. Ok- we need to address the elephant in the room. This entire hotel smells bad. Like a mix of smoke/your grandmas house (not a grandma you particularly enjoy)/maybe mold? Regardless the hallways, and the rooms have a stench to them that's almost unbearable. I checked in and a few things happened- All the drawers and closets were open- I think housekeeping missed this, but I've stated at a lot of hotels and I don't think this happened to be before. But I drove 8 hours today and when I wanted to just lay down like a sack of potatoes I had to close every single drawer in this apartment (and there's a lot of them) The TV in the bedroom didn't work. I could have called down but the last thing I wanted to do was wait to have it fixed, so I watched Netflix on my phone, no biggie. Regardless while I hate leaving negative reviews I'll really think twice staying here again, it's just not a pleasant stay after a long day of travel. read more

Five stars is for the quality of this hotel in its own category - it is not a five star hotel, but they are really excelling at what they do. It's a small hotel, and also pet friendly. The rooms are extremely clean and also very quiet even if you're facing the street or you encounter occupied rooms on both sides. We heard quite a bit of noise in the hallway as we walked toward our room and so we were nervous, but once inside the room, it was nearly dead quiet. The cleaning staff is incredible. The breakfast is a little uneventful, but it's again executed properly and very clean and well-maintained. The lobby is open 24 hours and there is always hot coffee and hot water water to make tea. The front desk staff is super welcoming and accommodating. There is a designated dog area that features a nice sized grass area for walking, and there's a bag dispenser there. We had a two bedroom apartment complete with a well equipped and spotless kitchen, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Nicely furnished living room. My only complaint is that all the TVs in the units have the motion smoothing setting on, and you can't change it. The TVs have Netflix on Amazon, and I wanted to watch a movie, but I couldn't stand that everything looked like a cheap soap opera. if you get there early enough, I recommend asking a staff member if they can bring the original remote control so that you can change that setting if it bothers you. Guests at this hotel have privileges at the Springhill suites across the parking lot where they have an indoor pool and Jacuzzi! read more

Stayed here two nights on a recent trip to Crater Lake. Hotel staff were very accommodating, and helpful. Because of COVID they have taken away certain items from the room like extra pillows and blankets, but all you had to do was ask and they will bring them to your room. At check in on the mobile app I requested for early arrival of 1pm, and as I arrived they had the keys ready for the room. Rooms were spotless and clean! I can tell they took extra steps to make sure rooms are cleaned and disinfected properly. Location of the hotel was very convenient. Within walking distance to Wal-Mart, Fred Meyers, Cracker Barrel, Starbucks and minutes away from Downtown Medford. Why the 4 stars? It's an older built hotel so you can hear everything that is going on around you. Could hear the TV from room next door, could hear the kids from the room below screaming, and could hear every door around you slamming. So it does get a little loud at night. read more

We stayed here on a recent family road trip and will absolutely return. Help at the front desk was fantastic. Rooms were clean and well kept (we have a large family and need 2 rooms). Theres breakfast included and though its standard fare it's a well kept area as well and there is plenty of help and attentive staff making sure food supplies are replenished. The pool is a bit small and outdoors but a nice addition to the property. read more

I stayed here for two nights while tagging along with my husband who was on a business trip. We brought our dogs along. The staff was friendly. I liked that coffee and tea was available in the lobby 24 hours a day. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Each morning I had an English muffin with butter and honey with strawberry yogurt and coffee, perfect. I would have preferred it the continental breakfast went to 9:30. A couple small gripes, it was in the 70s (Feels like 80 in high elevation) and the cover was still on the pool in May, kind of a bummer since one of the things I do when M is out working is hanging out by the pool. They did say I could go to their sister property in the same parking lot but it was indoors so I passed. Also the dog walking area is very wet, my canvas slip ons were soaked through 12 hours later and I had to dry them on the trucks dash. They should program the sprinklers a little better. Overall it was a nice place to stay and since we are Elite gold Marriott members, we usually stick to affiliated hotels. I love that we could bring out dogs. read more

As mentioned in other reviews - very close to the freeway! The check-in, check-out and front desk staff were all friendly. We checked in on Friday, July 3rd and of course they were really busy - but the staff kept things moving, got people checked in and were really nice about everything. They even gave the family out in the pool a few extra minutes before booting them out for pool-closing. They have rooms for people with pets, rooms for the deaf/hard of hearing and a pet-area to walk those pets that are allowed in the room. Of course, there is a pet-related room cleaning fee, if you do have pets in the room. Our dogs did really well staying here during a long drive down from Seattle to the SF Bay Area. The room was clean, well-cared for (unlike other Marriott-run pet-friendly and extended stay places I've been in) and pretty sound-resistant. I know there were barking dogs in other rooms, but I certainly couldn't hear them. Lots of parking, too. read more

I stayed here for 1 night and I was happy with my stay. The rooms were clean, quiet, comfortable, and staff was following covid-19 protocols. They were still serving breakfast- in togo bags, which was nice. The location was great- close to restaurants and other attractions. Call ahead of time if you plan on getting there right at check-in. The front desk receptionist said they are taking longer to clean/sanitize rooms due to covid-19. read more

For whatever reason, Medford is a very bad town for lodging. We've been through all the Hilton properties there, and they're all subpar. So now we're working through the Marriott properties. But the TownePlace was an inauspicious start. First impressions on arrival were bleak. The lobby area was small and crowded. The staff member on duty seemed tired or disinterested. The luggage trollies by the front door looked like they'd been used to move old engines or greasy auto parts. The architectural motif is best described as 1930s Stalinesque Soviet apartment block. The hallways are narrow, the acoustic tile ceilings are low, and the corridor from the very slow elevator to our room was utterly devoid of any art or decoration. Probably not as bleak as a walk to a jail cell block, but pretty bad. The small flat panel TV in our room never worked. After several calls to the desk, the clerk offered an unspecified discount. Then she noticed we already had a discounted government rate. So .... no TV, and no discount. TownePlace rooms are never as spacious as at a Residence Inn, but this one was only about two-thirds the size of the very nice Townplace Suites where we stayed at in Missoula, Montana a couple weeks ago. And oddly, they somehow even managed to find an undersized queen bed. At least they're consistent I guess. The poorly laid out parking lot is shared with a Marriott Springhill Suites, and was almost full by the time we arrived. We ended up having to park way out by the weeds. And as we were checking in well after dark, they were making an older lady who had obvious mobility issues move her car away from the entry parking area. Very classy! Otherwise, this was easily the noisiest hotel or motel we've ever stayed in. The floors are creaky. You can hear room doors slamming ... on the adjacent floors. We could easily follow the conversations of folks in the adjacent room or hallway. The exterior windows appear to incorporate some kind of noise-enhancing technology that makes a busy nearby street seem many times louder from inside the room. Still, I know I slept some. How else could I have been woken up every time a truck or motorcycle went by? While we're talking sleep ... the mattress on our undersized bed was spongy and soft. If you're into bed-jumping sports, that might suit. For sleep, however, it's not very good. After a miserable night's sleep we grabbed a bite in the ultra-cramped breakfast space (really just part of the lobby), loaded our gear on the greasy luggage trolley, and left .... hopefully forever. On a positive note, there didn't appear to be any bugs to go with the gulag architecture, and the shower had decent water pressure. And the breakfast area lady was nice. Be grateful for small favors, eh comrade? Still, trust but verify. *** One last thing. The info panel about Oregon in the motel lobby claims to have a picture of a Western Meadowlark, our state bird. Well, it doesn't depict a Meadowlark. It looks more like the invasive House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), an Old World species first introduced into Brooklyn in 1851, and which by 1900 had spread to the Rocky Mountains. (Two more introductions in the early 1870s, in San Francisco and Salt Lake City, aided the bird's spread throughout the West.) These noisy, messy birds are about as common in North America as Marriott properties along interstates. But they're not our fricking state bird. read more

I love Marriotts. I will usually try to stay at one before anyplace else. The people here are very nice. The location is horrendous. I'm in 310 and I hear every idiot with a a fart pipe on his car. I've counted over a dozen in the past 30 minutes. What the hell? Is there a car show? It is the next morning and I'm changing it from 2 to 1 stars. I used a Bluetooth speaker to play background brown and white noise loudly. I also asked the front desk for ear plugs. And I was still awakened several times all night long. It isn't only kids with cars, but every pickup truck that takes this street and gasses the engine at the turn. The engine is loud. If you value sleep, do NOT take a room number that is even numbered. Take the odd numbered room that is across the hall. I've got another night here and I'm considering just eating the money and going to Hotel 6. I'll never stay at this location again. I should've gone to the other Marriott. read more

The room smelled like trash (could never locate the source), the bed was super low quality and terrible, and the sound from the road was awful. If I wasn't so tired and in Medford I would never stay here. The rooms are small and the layout is bad. I can hardly see the TV while I'm laying in bed. I stayed in the executive suites and it didn't feel executive-like to me :( I went to the front desk and tried to get coffee and both the coffee warmer and the hot water was completely empty and I told the lady at the front desk and she said oh that's odd and didn't attempt to make a new batch! read more

We stayed here on our roadtrip from Seattle to CA. To be honest, I am most afraid of staying at small off-the-freeway motels (think bed bugs, old and dirty rooms, sketchy locations, etc.), but this place changed my perception of motels forever. I am serious. We stopped at the motel on yelp's recommendation at like 10pm on a friday night with no reservation, and was greeted by a pleasant guy who offered us a suite for $81! The room had a kitchen (complete with stove, pots and pans, plates, dishwasher), a king size bed, clean bathroom, and lots of closet space. And, of course, free wifi. The bed was very comfy, the bathroom was very clean, no funny smells, and everything looked new! The shower head could have been better, but it was generally fine. For a $81 room, I couldn't have asked for more. This was the best motel I have ever stayed at. I am thinking of staying here again when I visit crater lake. read more

Awesome hotel. Like many people before, we stayed when the Siskiyou pass closed. We pulled off the freeway and the two Marriott hotels beckoned. Since we had our dog with us, the choice was made easy as the TownePlace is dog friendly ($25 fee) and they had open rooms. It was a bonus for us that it was a fabulous place! The gentleman running the front desk was very friendly, in spite of the fact that he was being inundated with people coming in and calling to find a hotel. My only complaint is that the lawn, particularly in the doggie area, was overwatered- making it sloshy and not fun to walk through for me. I was glad we had towel rags in the car to clean off my shoes and the dogs feet! The room was clean, the shower was hot, and the bed was so so comfortable. We also had a little desk, couch, and chair to relax in after a long day in the car. They do serve a hot breakfast if you stay late enough in the morning. We left at 5 am, but they already had the fruit, yogurt, cereal, and pastries out so we could grab some snacks for the road. Would definitely stay again if we get stuck or stay to visit Ashland. read more

Rate was ok, I didn't like that they charged us $10 extra because it wasn't for business purposes. Like, wtf? Breakfast was not so great, I'm used to free hot breakfast. I stayed at the Towne Place in Medford in May 2011. We were traveling from Portland back to California. It's interesting to see that this shares the same parking lot with the Springhill Suites (another Marriott property). Facility is dog friendly (just confirm that they have rooms available). Deposit was $20-30 for the dog. There is an adjacent grass area to walk the dog. Bags available outside too! Room was very clean with a small kitchenette. They have a local restaurant delivery service in Medford. So we had dinner delivered from the local restaurant (there's 10-15 restaurants to choose from). Where the hotel is located, it's a bit of a walk. You'll need to drive. I remember the total stay with pet deposit was under $100 per night. Depending on the room location, you can hear some noises (unfortunately I was by the side entrance door and stairway. I could hear the door close in the night, or the heavy feet going up the stairs). Breakfast was included (however I did not try it). Not a bad stay if passing through Medford. read more

Only hiccup was the first room we were given keys to was already occupied! Oops - at least the guy who came to the door was equally amused as we were! Wow. We stayed in the "studio" suite, and I was beyond impressed with this hotel. CLEAN, quiet, and the mattress is the best I have ever experienced in a hotel..Except of course, the Ritz Carlton in SF wins the best mattresses of all time...but this not being an average hotel, the mattress was fantastic. More comfortable than my bed at home. Everything looked new, and up to date with the decor. Kitchen, bathroom, hotel room CLEAN!! I slept in the bed, my 6 year old loved sleeping on the hide-a-bed in the couch. Very quiet. They did a wonderful job of soundproofing...good insulation?? The A/C unit is controlled by a device on the wall. You just set the room to the temperature that you like, and there you go! Much better than the swamp coolers that will either leave you too hot, or freezing with nothing in between. The air conditioning unit was very quiet. The room was beyond comfortable. The front desk staff were warm friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was good. Outdoor pool...HEATED!! Nice!! The kitchen has EVERYTHING you could need. Stove, microwave, dishwasher, large refrigerator, utensils, can openers, strainers, pots, pans....etc. The cons.. -if traveling with kids, the TV does not have nickelodeon or disney channel. They do have some cartoon channels. -With the hide-a-bed out...there is no space between the bed and the hide a bed. They really meet foot to foot. Thankfully only blocking a side of the room that you really don't need to get to. STRONG recommendation!!! Just $105 for a night. Only 20 dollars more than the lower quality place I stayed at that had dirty disgusting rooms. read more

PET FRIENDLY!! I drove from Seattle to LA with my two cats and this was a welcome and awesome stop. A really helpful guy checked named Jeff checked us in. He was friendly, gave me menus to local places that delivered and although it was late, he was awake, personable, and a great representative of what I have come to expect from a Marriott property. We did laundry, and the machines were in good working order, very clean and inexpensive. The breakfast was complimentary. It was very basic, but had coffee, oatmeal, muffins, cereal and a couple other things. I would stay there again for sure! Oh, and right across the street is the Harry & David flagship store. While moving to Medford, the moving company decided that a 6 hour trip would take them 8 days to make. So, I was in need of a hotel until my worldly possessions made it to the same area code in which I was located. The Towne Place Suites was very nice. The room was clean. That's the only thing about this hotel that was anything like any other Marriott I've been to. Everything about this facility was weird. You access the elevator by going outside from the lobby and entering another door. The room was laid out strangely with the bathroom 2 feet from my husband's side of the bed. The bed was very uncomfortable. The pillow hurt my neck and I woke up with a headache. Breakfast was fine and appreciated. Staff was friendly and helpful. I gave it two stars because they gave me a clean place to stay and a decent breakfast. But I will never stay here again. read more

Check in was long- unprofessional receptionist as she continued to stop checking me in to chat with others and help people who came in behind me. My hotel was booked by my company and I wasn't sure if I would be getting 2 queens or just 1 in the room. I called the 1-800 number from the hotel website to check and they said it would be 2 queens. I got there, checked in and found it to be only 1 queen. I went back to the front desk and the girl sighed and said it happens all the time and that the only rooms with 2 beds are 2-bedroom suites. She offered a second room (no clue if she was offering for free or not) and I declined. The best part about the room was the ridiculously comfortable bed. The bathtub/shower floor was badly stained to the point that it appeared dirty. The rest of the room was clean. Now for the reason for the review... On my last morning at the hotel (which was this morning, 5/16/14) I woke up to the invoice slid under the door. I glanced at it, not too concerned as it was being paid for by my employer. Luckily I happened to notice a $25 pet fee snuck on there. I have a dog but he was 250 miles away at the moment. I figured it was some clerical error and wasn't too worried. I went about my business, packed my car up and went to the front desk to check out. I brought up the pet fee added and she said she had walked by my room and heard barking. I, super confused, tried to think of what the heck she was talking about. Then it clicked! I was watching some horrible reality show about animal hoarding. I told her and she proceeded to argue with me stating something about the barking being timed or something. Finally, after offering her the option to search my vehicle and the room, she dropped the charge. It would have been one thing if she had called or came to my room and asked if I had a dog... But just sneaking the charge on the bill and then essentially calling me a liar was when I got upset. So, take warning future visitors... Watching Lassie or Old Yeller could land you and additional pet fee upon check out. read more

I wouldn't stay here if you have a pulse. The hotel seems to cater to flight crews with odd hours and is run like a morgue. It is not family or group/organization friendly. For our softball team they produced a list of rules such as "quiet time" beginning at 830pm, all children/teens in their room by 9pm, etc. I over 20 years of traveling with sports organizations I have never seen the likes of this. read more

I stayed for an extended period while working in Medford. While the room was fine it was nothing special. I felt it was clean but there were no sanitizing wipes to wipe high touch surfaces (good thing I now carry some with me). With the horrible fires in the area there are (understandably) quite a few "residents" at this hotel. They have them scattered throughout the building as opposed to in one area. Each morning as you walk down the hall their trash cans are sitting outside the door! The walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors very well. The neighbors to my right were up until around 1 every morning while the ones to my left had a dog that started barking for a walk around 5, add the noise from the road right next to the hotel And not so much of a restful night. If you are after a quiet room/hotel this shouldn't be on your list. If you are after a reasonably clean room and don't mind noise and the need for some updates this is your place. read more

Fantabulous hotel & location! Just 1 exit south of Highway 62 east to Crater Lake (only about an hour and a half drive to the lake from here). We got a 2 bedroom suite on the top (3rd) floor to share with family. It was quiet, clean and stocked with fresh towels. The kitchen was immaculate! We didn't get to enjoy it, but the large refrigerator came in handy for some left over pizza. It also had the standard continental breakfast the next morning. We called and booked a room about an hour before we arrived there. They were reasonably priced and had a AAA rate ($20 off the standard rate). Lots of parking, and easy to find off the freeway. read more
