A Margaritaville in Medford? Actually a perfect place to have it. Hot weather goes well with Margaritas and a pool. The staff were nothing short of amazing. All cheerful and nice. Amber who checked us in had a personality and made checking in a pleasure. The pool area was beautiful, the whole property was spotless. There even was a casino full of slot machines across the parking lot with a driving range attached. Pretty epic. Like a one stop shop resort. I was there for work so I could not enjoy many of the amenities as I was too busy. But I am thinking about coming down for a weekend and just hanging out there. Food at the restaurant was good, the free breakfast had many different choices, and was decent quality. The rooms were nice and spacious, my only qualm was the shower had zero pressure. Like I said. We stayed in Medford after road tripping the Oregon Coast. It was our last stop until heading back to the Bay Area. What I loved about this hotel was the beach ambience. I felt like I had been swept away to a tropical beach destination. My kids loved the pool and my husband and I enjoyed hanging out on the patio (with our dog). The drinks were pretty good. They had a good variety of food, too. Our favorite dish was the chicken wings. Our room was cozy and had all of the amenities you would expect (mini fridge, WiFi, ice machine nearby). Well I'll be darned y'all. Why would a MARGARITAVILLE hotel be in Medford Oregon? Who cares. It's great. The staff is truly wonderful. It's new and smells and looks it. But ironically as new as it is the very first day the elevator was down on one side. There were definitely signs that it was new but had issues or at the least weren't able to keep up with cleaning (like footprints on the cloth dining room chairs.) And honestly this would have been an issue for me if the service and rest of the experience wouldn't have been as excellent as they were. The staff here is really excellent. I didn't see a single manager or "supervisor" looking person. And I also didn't see a SINGLE employee without a smile. The music is ALL beachy vacation vibes and it makes it feel happy. They also pipe some incredible smell in that I was OBSESSED with. It smelled so good. Like seriously y'all should sell candles of it!! So the staff. They were WONDERFUL. I swear not ONE person wasn't wearing a smile, offering kindness, making sure we were happy. It felt first class. I definitely want to come back again so I can enjoy the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland again, a relaxing pool day here and a great short trip. My kids and I loved it I'll be back!!! read more

Nice location, good value and hospitality. We stayed here for one night during a roadtrip to CA. This hotel has a great location, just off the freeway and down the street, near plenty of restaurants and right next to a golf activity center. Parking is plentiful and the hotel property seems to be well maintained. When we arrived we were greeted by a welcoming and friendly staff. The check in process was efficient, our room was clean and had a functional and spacious layout, along with all of the necessary amenities (coffee maker, bottled water, toiletries). I also really liked the layout of the bathroom and it had hooks in all the right places. IYKYK! The complimentary breakfast is legit! We had coffee, scrambled eggs (don't skip the ranchero sauce), island potatoes, sausage, bacon and French toast sticks with maple syrup and everything tasted great! But they also had oatmeal, fruit, cheese, hard boiled eggs, pastries, and juices - everything you could want or need for a great breakfast. And the morning staff were also super kind, approachable and attentive. This will be our go-to overnight stop on all future road trips. Thank you! read more

Stayed for one night on a road trip. We were met with nothing but excellent customer service. Every person that worked at the resort was friendly, helpful and nice. Amber at the front desk, was incredibly nice, genuine and had the best customer service skills I've ever seen from any hotel front desk worker. She made a great first impression that continued throughout stay. The restaurant was also great! Manny was a great bartender/server and also had great customer service skills. Travelling up and down between Oregon/California, we were afforded the opportunity to try a few different hotels, staying one night in each. This one however is my number one choice. It's amazing! Have so far stayed in 4 different hotels. I cannot recommend this one highly enough. You literally feel like you've suddenly been transported to Maui. It does have a real island feel, as soon as you walk though the door. It smells so good throughout. The lobby is beautiful, and leads onto a small gift/concessions store with t shirts and swimming accessories, as they have a beautifully appointed outdoor pool, and patio area. It's so clean, pristine and gorgeous. Check in was smooth, and staff are very patient and kind. The room was stunning. Everything had a sort of "traveler" theme, with the star compass featured strongly everywhere, and it stays cohesive throughout the property. It's immaculately clean. The room temperature was exactly as I like it. Bathroom fixtures and fittings were attractive and modern, and the shower was excellent. Very comfortable beds - i slept like a log. There were these little "luxury make up remover" packages. I opened one, and inside was a tiny round pill, stamped with the star compass theme (the theme is echoed even on the toiletries) i know that you immerse these little round things in water, and they expand to become a wipe. What i wasn't expecting as the amazing smell of jasmine and sandalwood. Whilst i never ever take hotel toiletries, i did use one package, and i "liberated" the 2nd one. They also offer prepackaged q tips, and cotton rounds. Those are a rarer commodity in hotels. Breakfast. Oh my God! The breakfast. So first off, the breakfast space (it's also the restaurant) is airy, bright and inviting, lots of windows that look out over the pool and patio area. There are board games available to play and the little gift/concessions store is at the rear. Off to the side is the room where the buffet spread is laid out. My eyes lit up. I felt i had won the lottery. French toast fingers, bacon, eggs, sausage patties, turkey bacon, potatoes were featured in the hot selection. Juices (Apple, Orange, cranberry) cereals, teas and coffees, bread, pastries, croissants, muffins. And the spigot for hot water looked like it came from an alien spaceship, and i needed someone to show me how to use it. I could've happily sat in this space for hours. Then maybe had a dip in the pool, or sunbathed in a cabana. I went and browsed the gift shop, and lo and behold, hey had a tin of the luxury make up wipes, with the hotel logo on the front. So i purchased some of those. I genuinely loved this hotel, and did not want to leave. The lady who was ensuring guest enjoyed their breakfasts, was chatty, and told us that Jimmy Buffet had wanted an Island feel for the hotel. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! We are here right now. Check in was fine .. staff is nice . We get up to our room no TV ..little to no internet because everyone's on it since there's no TV's... shower is disgusting there's slime all the way around at the lower part. I call down to the front desk to ask about the TV I'm told it has been out now since yesterday. The girl states I.T has been working on it and hopefully soon it will be up . Update as of today still no TV .. no internet ... they don't care about the slime I'm told to talk to the general manager guy at front desk gave me his card said he won't be in until tomorrow morning sometime . They honestly don't care . We definitely will be staying somewhere else next time .. don't waste your money on this dive .. it's a glorified Motel 6 with an outside bar . Mom always said don't stay at a place with a colored comforter The bed was comfortable, the bathroom amenities were amazing- the makeup removal wipe - wanted to keep it on my face forever because it smelled so good, The breakfast was ample and tasty, coffee was strong.., pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs and more! I didn't like the food. Everything tastes like it came out of a bag or was recently microwaved. Not a problem, but good to know- the location is not very walkable to restaurants and shopping. I've been to Compass a few times--mostly because it's dangerously close to where I live and I'm lazy. The vibe is light and fun. Speaking of which, the servers (Dante & Brook) were great--friendly, attentive, and better than the food. Now, let's talk about the food. It's... edible. Not bad, not amazing, just okay enough to soak up the cocktails--which, by the way, are phenomenal . Seriously, if they bottled those drinks, I'd have a case shipped monthly. The weirdest part? Every time I went, the place was nearly empty--like "one other table and a tumbleweed" empty--and yet the wait was long enough to age cheese. Still, I'll be back--for the drinks. Only the drinks. The atmosphere at the hotel is great, and the servers genuinely appeared to care. This place definitely checked that mark in my book and I will most definitely stay again. Free breakfast in the morning. I just had fresh strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, blueberries, raspberries and pineapple, and assorted cheese cubes with coffee and juice. They did have choices of scrambled and hard boiled eggs, pancakes, breads, potatoes, sausages, bacon, dry breakfast cereals, cottage cheese and Greek yogurt. My brother said that the hot foods could most definitely be improved and did not recommend eating it. They had a provision store inside that included assorted souvenirs, and beverages, including alcohol. The provision store was open 24/7, but alcohol was available for purchase only until 2 am. There was a 5 o'clock bar, but we rolled in late and left in the morning. It was closed during our stay, but at the dining area, happy hour specials were posted on the tables. The bar looked to be a fun and enjoyable place to unwind. Outside had well cared for and meticulously manicured landscape which was quite impressive for this flower and garden lover. There was a pet waste station with complementary bags to encourage cleaning up after your pet. I was impressed as I didn't see any waste on the plush green grass. The pool area and outside patio with plenty of tables and umbrellas looked super inviting as well. This would be a terrific place for members of reunions to stay and relax, enjoying each other's company, or even a staycation. We were considering this place for our micro wedding. The cost was going to be $300 to rent the room with an adjacent patio with a $300 catering minimum and we and our 25 guests were planning to stay on property. We toured the hotel and it was great, the staff was lovely. Then a few weeks later we got an email from Rebecca in Coos Bay telling us that because it's a wedding we have to pay an additional $700 (more than the room and catering combined!?!?!?) which included a "custom timeline" and her "coordinating" the event (from three hours away, apparently) which we didn't ask for or want. We emailed back to ask for clarification of what exactly we were getting for $700 and if we could waive it and Rebeca never responded. With this kind of bait and switch and then lack of communication who knows what a disaster our event would have been. It's a shame because the staff on-site were really great and this was our first choice venue...until it wasn't. read more

Found this hotel on our way back from seattle to california. What an amazing gem this is! Super clean welcoming lobby with super friendly staff, check in was a breeze and the rooms were above my expectations. Very clean beds with nice linens, bathroom is very modern with all the amenities needed. Pool was heated and my kids enjoyed swimming even though it was 45 degrees outside. bar and restaurant are also great. Would highly recommend to anyone and I will most definitely be returning if i'm ever back in the area! read more

This is a fantastic resort for families; very well-designed hotel with inviting grounds. Upon arrival, we found the place to be easy to locate, with plenty of parking. The friendly staff greeted us as we came through the doors. We found our room to be spacious, and well lit. The entire facility has a warm, tropical feel to it. It's easy to order up a meal at the 5 o'clock Bar & Grill downstairs; they have a decent menu, with great selection. The only downside to my visit was the floral scents - to complete the Carribean vibe, they have scent diffusers throughout the facility. Great concept, but unfortunately, for someone with my sensitive level of allergies, this left me congested, with a dull headache, during my entire stay. Fortunately, the scent was only in the common areas, and I didn't have an issue inside my room. I'll definitely take the family here again on my next visit, but will come prepared with my seasonal allergy meds. read more

Wow, this was a great find!! CbM staff were incredibly welcoming as I walked in the door to check in. Everything was clean and smelled fresh, no "cover up" fake smells. They got us through check in fast and we headed up to our room. Wow wow wow, everything was clean and fresh, and so comfortable. After putting our things away, we headed down to the restaurant. The menu was great. I ordered the steak w/ chimichurri. If I could have licked my plate in public, I would have #MUSTTRY. It was delicious!!! Service was fast and entertaining. We hadn't expected the warm day, so didn't have our swimsuits which was a huge bummer, because there's a really nice pool, holey-board, fire pits w/ comfortable seating ... all in all, it was awesome. There's also a cute little "destination" shop there to find fun clothing, trinkets, etc. I was looking for flipflops, and to my single disappointment, they had none. I laughingly told the staff they were only getting 4.5 stars because of it... truly though, I just couldn't deduct because everything was absolutely perfect and we will definitely stay there again. Such a bright beautiful and fun hotel! From the moment we walked in we were blown away with such amazing customer service, to the front desk and the restaurant. Food was wonderful, a little overpriced for quality but still good. Now the service! Our amazing waiter Carlos was by far the kindest, punctual, personable and caring server we've ever experienced. Constantly checking making sure we were taken care of and had all we needed. He went above and beyond with the experience for us. Such a great hangout spot and beautiful relaxing spot to catch some rest. This hotel is very beautiful and relaxing. It feels like a tropical paradise. The restaurant (5'Oclock Somewhere - within the hotel was very good, and I would definitely recommend the restaurant for sure!) Going forward I might stay here again, but we went through a bit of a headache with our experience. After reading raving reviews on Yelp, and Google we signed up for the Margaritaville perks program and also was excited to see a Yelp offer on Yelp for check-in for a $75 resort credit when you check in through Yelp the app. I called to inquire about the offer and was told different stories about that being an opening hotel offer, a holiday offer or an offer for everyone prior, but myself. Finally, I was told they would honor the offer just to me, but we had to stay at least two nights/3 days and had to book on their website and not Priceline or Expedia (none of this was stated with the offer online on Yelp). Priceline and Expedia were much cheaper than their website, but we decided with the extra Margaritaville perks we'd get by signing up for that program too - we would more than likely get a better bargain by booking that way. Moving forward we followed all their directions and called 48 hours prior to make sure we would get the $75 credit. When we arrived at check-in they said they would give us the $75 credit, but not how we settled it. We had additional benefits from the Margaritaville program which included an additional $25 off and a free dessert in their restaurant. They would only honor the $25 benefit to apply to their resort fee, and we still also got our dessert benefit, but they would only offer $50 off instead of the $75 they promised. It was all frustrating because even though Cassidy was polite she would not honor the $75 offer. We had to speak to the manager who kept going in circles making us feel a bit unwelcomed upon arrival and not offering the $75 off that was promised to us. The manager kept thinking it was a website offer directly through booking instead of on Yelp itself. When I arrived at check-in the offer was taken off Yelp, but I screen shot it to show that it was an offer that said free $75 resort credit at check in. It was a lot of going back and forth to explain something which should have just been given without explanation or grievance. There was an additional resort fee of $12 per day which I think is a newer charge because I never saw anything mentioning this before on the website so they kept saying that was on the bill too, but would be deducted with the credit. All in all, we were supposed to get at least $75 off our bill (with resort fees) at checkout and none of it was there when we checked out too so we had confusion at check in and then with the check out process we had confusion all over again. Luckily, Jamire was at the desk and helped us to get the extra credit. He was accommodating, but if we hadn't checked out bill, it would have all been on there without the credit discounts. It was a great stay overall, but we had a lot of confusion with trying to figure out the bill. Moving forward we might stay again, but probably use Expedia instead of the offers we used. I think we just came out about even. In the future, they are also offering $25 off per day resort credit packages. It would be nice if this resort fee could be given as a gift card so it could be applied to the gift shop or restaurant without any questions with the bill at the end of the stay. The credits looked like additional payments due on our bill. It was extremely confusing and we still will have to check later this week to make sure our discounts were rightfully taken off. read more

5 stars for hosting our 40th High School Reunion! The staff was so pleasant and helpful in the planning and execution of the event, and everything came out better, more fun than I had expected. Many of us booked rooms for the event and the group rate was much appreciated. The complimentary breakfast bar was great too! Nice, new facility. Plusses: Great breakfast with real food (yummy bacon and sausage), coffee station 24/7, and lemon bar bites in the afternoons. Well-appointed gym. Comfortable beds. Modern decor. Minuses: I'm not a fan of the piped in artificial smell in the lobby and on each floor as I am sensitive to that. Housekeeping was only just removing dirty towels. Trash wasn't emptied. Beds weren't made. Bathrooms have spacious showers, but water pressure is very slight (likely water-saving) and since there's only a partial glass divider, it's chilly (even with the water on max hot). Heads-up: Rooms do have small fridges, but no microwaves (you can request one, however, it is subject to whether there are any unused. In our case, there weren't any available). Update: Breakfast is til 9:30 am on weekdays. Twice I went down at 9 am. First, I had to ask for bowls and milk. Then we had to get cups from the coffee station (that is near the lobby) because there weren't any cups/mugs/etc. Then we had to ask for forks. Then another person had to ask for plates. Then the milk ran out again (because it's in a creamer sized container and people were using for cereal). read more

I've never thought to leave a review for a hotel but compass was worth it!!! Fantastic well maintained clean, relaxing, and comfortable home away from home. Everyone was so nice to our dog Rumi. Breakfast was so good! We had the best Greek yogurt!!! Staff was amazingly friendly and nice! They sure have the best people, which is a reason to come back in itself. Hats off to the Chef, Dilip who prepared the best spread and was so friendly, sure started our day right! What a one of a kind chef who just did his 100 push ups, does jiujitsu, and checks on people. We sure loved the berries and bacon as well. Plus points for having oat milk too!!! Sweet Amber is a gem as well, going above and beyond to check if we got all what we needed. When Amber checked us in, we knew we made the right choice. Her cheerful welcoming demeanor is a gem. Dale also took his time to pet rumi and treated her like his English bulldog. I travel a lot and so far this place has the best breakfast compared to any hotel that prepare breakfast, period !! Vincent, Kitchen and cook staff were very accommodating and truly looked out for a group of travelers to ensure we had breakfast. They were all pleasant and kind. Also Amber, is Amazing, so sweet and hospitable. Her energy was amazing and she has great customer service. This hotel smelled amazing and was comfortable and clean. Although I did not partake in any amenities, the gathering and outdoor spaces looked like guest were having fun. I wish I could have tried the cocktails, but I was working, they looked delicious. read more
