DO NOT STAY HERE! we had reservations for a weekend. When we got there. Another family was in the lobby letting us know that they'd just found BED BUGS in their room! That's not even the worst part!! We asked the front desk manager, aalyah, if there were in fact bed bugs and she said "we've only found them in one room so far and they were dead"!! I told her I wanted to cancel and find another place to stay and she advised that if we canceled, they'd still charge us for one of the two nights!! I couldn't believe they'd possibly charge me after admitting they had bed bugs, but there's no way we were staying there after a Marriott employee admitted there were bed bugs. we checked out anyway and low and behold, they charged my credit card for a full night!! I called the GM, Janette Irizarry, for over a week and she never bothered to call me back. I then wrote to her. She took more than a week before writing me back and when she did, she said that based on the policy, they would not be refunding us!! When she refused, I requested to speak to her boss. Several days later, we received an email, not a call, from James DiCara, the Director of Operations, who also stated they would not be refunding us. I want every single person who's even thinking about staying at this place to know how they treat their customers. It's one thing to have bed bugs but to not refund a customer after admitting they had them is deplorable! We never even checked in! We didn't make it past the lobby, AND their front desk manager confirmed that the bugs had been found in one room "so far" yet they still think that the proper way to handle that is to bill us?! I'll be leaving reviews everywhere I can just to save anyone the hassle and mistreatment they showed us. Stay far far away, they do not deserve your business! read more

Front desk person was more interested in her phone than addressing the issue. Complained to Marriott corp and was told the hotel would get back to me within 5 days. After driving for 3 hours, we arrived to find out the room we booked was not available. They never called to inform us of the problem and they refused to give a refund. There only solution was to give a one bed standard room and another with no conjoining door. This was offered and we decided against it but they still refused to refund our money. It was a nightmare. love this place i must admit that it went down hill for a while but as i just stayed there they have really turned things around, Sam from the front was so nice and helpful, then had a tv issue and Steve came to the rescue in time for the superbowl he also took interest in why we were staying, the next day when Steve saw my son in the lobby he asked him about his hockey tryouts and was beyond nice to him helping my son not stress so much. Stayed here on a Thursday evening, hotel was moderately busy. It is a well maintained facility with good amenities and conveniently located. Room was clean and modern, staff was friendly and accommodating. Quiet, facilitated an easy although brief stay. This property is very poorly managed and several things occurred/went wrong that made our stay unpleasant. First, we booked the 2 bedroom suite months in advance for 6 people for a volleyball tournament (1 adult, 5 teenage boys). I called the hotel the day before arriving and they confirmed my reservation and that the 2 bedroom suite would accommodate all 6 of us. Upon arrival, I was given the excuse that the 2 bedroom suite we were supposed to be in was soiled and they couldn't accommodate us in that room. Instead, they put us in 2 separate king rooms. This was not ideal as I was responsible for the 5 boys traveling with me and was not at all comfortable having the teen boys in a separate room without adult supervision. The hotel staff didn't offer any other solutions (1 bedroom suite with rollaway beds). I overheard them offer other guests other solutions and also held rooms at a nearby Courtyard for those guests, however, they offered us no alternate solutions. We had no other choice but to accept the 2 rooms with the possibility of getting a 2 bedroom suite for the 2nd night. The staff at the front desk complained openly about Marriott Bonvoy "overselling the hotel" and they didn't have enough rooms for the amount of people that were booked. The following day, I witnessed/heard loud noises and yelling coming from outside my window. One of the female property managers was in a violent screaming match with several male workers. Lots of expletives and threats yelled between all of them. It was extremely unprofessional and also extremely unsettling. I quickly let the boys know not to go outside as I was honestly worried for their safety. I also told them not to leave their room without adult supervision because of this altercation and the threats yelled outside my window. My husband and I frequently stay in Marriott properties and actually prefer them because of the Bonvoy benefits and most Marriott properties we've stayed in are clean, well managed, and safe. We will never stay at this TownePlace Suites again. Marriott should look into how this hotel is being run for the sake of their future guests. They should also look into the violent altercation that I witnessed between the property manager and several workers as a hotel guest should never hear or witness that type of unsettling behavior. I was worried for the safety of the female manager as well as the boys that I was responsible for caring for that weekend. Do better Marriott. read more

I stay in hotels over 200 nights per year. This is by far the WORST place Ever!! When we arrived, the front desk lady had a personality like a rock. We went to our room and there were dirty towels and a shower cap in our bathroom. No clean towels, no soap, nothing. It was all used. We cleaned our own room and in the morning I went to the front to ask for a late checkout as we arrived at midnight the night before and had to clean our own room. The kid at the desk started freaking out because they were booked for that night. I explained to him the problem and he couldn't care less. No late check out, and no apology. DISGUSTING!! Don't waste your money on this disgusting place. No hot breakfast, pool closed, etc.. Save your money, it's cleaner to camp in a tent!! YUK!! read more

Had to count doors from last door marked Light bulbs were out TV remote worked when it wanted to, including turning itself on in the middle of the night ( and no, did not roll over it in bed, it was on the night stand) I had to get up and pull the plug on the tv for it to turn off When I asked staff for help with the remote they told me to just use the controls on the side of the tv to turn it on and off and adjust the column No place to hang clothes Staff was not there to help Too busy on their phones Reached out to the manager - no return call from them either read more

Would say the staff are nice and the complimentary breakfast isn't bad. It was definitely the little things that make it a little ghetto. Basic things that you would expect a hotel to have like a shower curtain that's long enough to keep the water in the tub, a faucet that doesn't spray water everywhere, outlets that actually fit your cords, clean carpets from crumbs. I just want to say WOW, the cleanliness and professionalism of the hotel and staff were phenomenal!! I loved the complimentary breakfast as well as the very spacious suites. I would recommend all my loved ones as well as colleagues to stay a night or two here When visiting. I was going to rate 1 star but the manager is what changed my mind. We love Marriott and became members because when we travel we normally stay at Marriott hotels. So I booked a double suite through the Marriott website. 6 days prior to my trip, you must prepay!! Which we did. I have 5 people to accommodate. So we drive hours out of town to have a staycation. When we arrive, although I did a touch less check in I was told I had to come in to get my key. Cool, so I go in and the front desk person then tells me the room I had paid for wasn't available, instead of 2 beds and a pullout I was given a Queen size bed and a pullout couch. It's late and I'm tired. My kids are tired so I just say whatever. I did call around to another hotel but they were booked. So we go in the room and I immediately hate everything about it. Carpets are dirty, ceiling has some purple stuff all across it in the bathroom. There's a queen bed and a couch, nice kitchen area and tv. They gave us a handicap room so bathroom was spacious. Of course we don't fit the bed, a 3 and 6 year old plus mom and dad!!! My 6'2 son takes the couch!!! After fighting with the girls and hubby for space and blanket I just lay on the end of the pullout beside my son. Very uncomfortable! Hubby doesn't even have space to turn over! There's a reason I booked the suite. The girls would've shared a bed, we would've had a bed and my son would've had the pullout. So in the morning my MIL suggest I speak to the manager. I do, I am then told that corporate overbooks all the time! Apparently they just sell rooms to make the sale. Then we get there and what choice do we really have, sometimes they have what we paid for in advance and sometimes they don't! Ridiculous!!!!! The manager took money off of the room we did sleep in and promised points. I will be looking out for said points and have no problem calling back if they don't show up soon. The fact that she apologized and explained and then went over and beyond to make sure we were okay at the end is why I rated 3 stars. Without that ending it would've easily been 1 read more

Occasion: business trip Showed up late and left early but managed to use their WiFi and eat breakfast so it's enough to review. Front desk lady was really friendly and welcoming - she gave me a nice orientation to the property and services. The room was in good shape - it had been raining for days so everywhere was just humid but nothing they could control. When I arrived at the room it was 65 degrees - struck me as odd but a few minutes of turning it off and the room was comfortable. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, water pressure was good, WiFi worked fine. Breakfast was great for me - I had my usual oatmeal and boiled eggs. There's a nice run route too which is also something I look for. Would I recommend/return? Yes to both read more

Visited on a weekend in December. CLEAN and contemporary! Hotel, staff, and amenities all are better than expected for the comparatively low room rate. Rooms: We stayed in a king suite which was arranged as a small apartment, including bedroom/study/kitchen/bathroom. The room was also outfitted with full DirectTV service to enable viewing of most any show or movie. The bed was soft and the bedding was cozy. The bed had switched lights and power plugs an both sides. The bathroom was large, and featured a bath/shower plus a large closet right inside. The study was well thought, with ample desk space and several cabinets. The room also included an oversized footrest which doubled as a table/work surface, and an upholstered loveseat. The kitchen in the room was stacked! Full sized fridge/freezer, cook top, dishwasher, deep sink, coffee maker, microwave, and all the appropriate utensils/dishes/glassware. Great for making a relaxing dinner for two. Staff: We were greeted upon arrival by Jordan. What a fine young man. He was able to provide all the info we needed about the hotel and surrounding area. He was a wealth of exceptionally useful info. He told us about the amenities (pool, fitness, laundry, parking, breakfast, and Internet) and ensured we felt right at home. Amenities: The fitness rooom has dumbells, elliptical trainers, stationery bikes, and treadmilll. The room is large woth floor space to spare for yoga or other exercise of your choosing. Chilled and filtered water is avaliable next to the supply of clean towels. The breakfast in morning offeres cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, yougert, and an assortment of breads/muffins/fruits. Beverages include coffee, milk (skim, 2%, whole), water, juice, hot coco and tea. The breakfast area has a microwave and toaster, but no hot foods (scrambled eggs, meats, potatoes) are served.the internet service was easy to use and speedy. The pool looked nice, but we did not use it. Overall, this property is well taken care of with clean comfortable rooms and a helpful staff. We will be back! read more

Updated. The hotel front desk are friendly and helpful and the hotel is new and updated. The rooms are bright, have good beds, nice mini kitchen and nice bathrooms. The hotel has a good clean little gym that is 24/7. An elliptical, few tread mills and dumbbells. There is also a pool. The hot breakfast is good for hotel standards; oatmeal, breads/toasts, eggs and sausage (everyday is sausage day) along with a few other things I may be missing. My wife and I stayed here for one night after the York Musclecar Reunion. Luckily I used Marriott points instead of paying for the room. The general room was clean but the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. Normally I stay at Hilton hotels but had some points I wanted to use up and this seemed like the best opportunity to do so. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll definitely be staying at a Hilton instead. read more

Jordan was our check in person, and he was great. Friendly and professional and got us checked in quickly. We loved the look and layout of the hotel. The Pickle said it was like sleeping in an IKEA showroom. The room would be quite functional for a longer stay. Hotel front desk, housekeeping and breakfast monitors were all fabulous. They made us feel right at home. Ashlee at the front desk and the rest of the team were genuine in assisting with directions to eateries and places to take the kids. They even let our kids play a late game of monopoly in the lobby. A true family feeling. The breakfast was a total blessing as we didn't have to worry about food first thing in the morning. It was clean and met the standards as we use this hotel chain exclusively. Lastly, we accidentally left a bag behind and the front desk kindly looked up info on how to mail it to us. They were so helpful and we really appreciate it!!! Great hotel, very clean and very cozy! Was in town last week for some business and had to spend a nite for some more work next day . Here I am looking for a hotel : called the Courtyard Mariott only to find out they were booked for the nite but Towne is a Mariott too! Boom, went online and got a room! The way you see the promo pictures thats how their rooms are. Also they have a pool, gym, laundry , free wifi and complimentary breakfast. Def will come back if im ever in York. read more

I really have to say this hotel is nice and clean. It is a little set back from a major road, but close to a lot of things (target, walmart, sams club, grocery stores, etc.). so it's very convenient. We were in a 2 bedroom suite that had just 1 bathroom. I wished it had 2 bathrooms, but I'll live. The living room was HUGE and the kitchen really huge. Windows were on 2 sides of the room, so it had a really nice homey feel. The pool is nice and clean. No jacuzzi. The breakfast is simple with no frills, but free and clean. A about 4 hot entrees, cereal, yogurt, bread/bagels, etc. It is next to a freight shipping logistics place, but I didn't hear a thing. And I'm really picky about where to stay. Was in town for a golf outing and found this place which looks like brand new and interior of room was excellent. Layout of room was modern and room was very clean. The hotel reception person manning the front desk was very friendly and very helpful. The entire staff were friendly as well. Highly recommend this place especially if you are looking for not just a room but a place with a kitchenette and a little extra room to relax. read more
