We stayed at the Best Western August 6 through the 9th. Wonderful accommodations. Clean, quiet, very comfortable, and literally everyone who works there was professional and friendly towards us. Parking lot was large and convenient. Close proximity to downtown Gettysburg and the battlefield sites. Breakfast was great. We could not have found a better hotel in which to stay. Friendly staff.Annual stay. They now have DAILY housekeeping back again! They probably were a little late in getting back post covid on the daily but it is nice to come back after hot July days in open fields to a cool CLEAN room. Nice to be able to do laundry as nec. I can`t push it to 5* as I had hoped. The brkst quality seems to have changed and we had some confusion at checkout w/our group.Some checked out early and some staff sent a signal to housekeeping we all checked out when in fact we were returning to get our belongings and wash up a little before hitting road.So that was a little disappointing. Nice, Conveniently Located Hotel Gettysburg is a tourist town and there are a lot of hotels to choose from, especially when you are visiting at a time other than peak season. The Best Western was slightly more expensive than some others we considered but it's new and has a particularly nice indoor pool and exercise room. Included breakfast was typical of a number of mid-priced chains. It was nice to be within walking distance of a couple of good restaurants in the area. We didn't choose to pay a premium for a room to "overlook the battlefield", which is probably not worth the extra cost since you get such a view from the top floor breakfast room. There was a low-key attempt to sell us a battleground tour, but it's better to arrange this from the National Park's visitor center. read more

What a great newer hotel in Gettysburg. Usually we do B&B but they were a little out of our range for the weekend in August we wanted, this was very reasonably priced and it does include breakfast, while you lose some of the charm of B&B in Gettysburg the rooms were very nice, clean, large and comfy. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and the lobby was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was on the 3rd floor and was nothing to write home about, just standard free hotel breakfast, waffle, fruit, pastries. The room had a fridge which was a huge plus. The location is pretty great, and most everything is walkable in town, but you're also away from the "busy" city center if you're sensitive to that sorta thing. Parking is plentiful and it is new and clean as opposed to some of the motels nearby. The one downside is the one elevator which could be a little slow and for some reason scorching hot. Because of the price point this may be our ongoing choice when we come to Gettysburg. read more

The room was nice but when we asked for 2 bottles of water the second night, the curt desk clerk said we would need to pay for same. Moreover, she said "we were just a base member." We asked again and it was clear in true millennial fashion, she had little to no intent to satisfy the customer. I said that we would Yelp the establishment. Her answer was "Go for it" twice. Unfortunately, the meaning of customer service or insuring a nice stay appears absent from her vocabulary. We plan to come to Gettysburg again, but not to be subjected to a lack of customer service or professionalism. Also, the television volume is set to approximately 1/3 capacity. If one suffers hearing loss from serving our Country, then this could pose a real issue. If the hotel thought about the customer, then the TV could have been set on a timer. However, the very nice facilities people said that only the manager has the code for volume control. read more

PROS: This new hotel is unlike other Best westerns. The atmosphere is a little more high end. The rooms are very nice, and the entire place is clean. They have an indoor pool and gym that guests can use. In the morning they have a b&b and coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day. Parking is not an issue and the friendly staff is here to assist you! CONS: the pool is a little small, but it's also not heated. The gym consists of only a few pieces of cardio machines and one universal machine. Very sad. At the b&b the variety isn't good and what's there is usually rotten or over or undercooked. They also only have one elevator which is very slow. OVERALL: I'll definitely come back to this hotel cause the pros outweigh the cons. For what you pay for, it's definitely worth it read more

Update: I received an email and a phone call from Nate, the owner/manager of the GB Best Western and explained in more detail what we experienced in the way of noise and service. He apologized for the noise, his staff and also credited a portion back to us for our stay. This makes our family feel heard and willing to give the hotel another shot at our business. He also said you can indeed notate that you DO NOT want to be placed near or below the dining area so that was also taken care of for any future stays. As I said before, the hotel is lovely, clean, and had typically been quiet on past stays. He did share they are dealing with stretched staff as we all are these days. I very much appreciated the retention and service gesture of a credit and reach out on the part of Nate the owner/manager of the GBurg Best Western. read more

I'm sorry but I expected things to be as they once were. I expected a full breakfast, but I got a very poor grab-n-go selection in a side conference room off the lobby. They did not even remove the conference room chairs, just pushed them in the back. the nice spacious 3rd floor breakfast room is closed but you can you up there and eat your crappy breakfast with a view of the battlefield. But they have no trays or anything to carry your breakfast. I was stuffing bananas in my pants. There is no housekeeping either. The room looked clean on the surface but when looking for a lost item I found filth and debris under everything, including a blue pill and decomposing food. The sink had not stopper; not just missing but never installed. And the volume on the very small TV was limited to 30 on a scale of 100. There was also a deep thrumming sound at night like THRUM=THRUM=THRUM. The first night we had to put in ear plugs. The second night it was present but less and did not need the plugs. Other than that it was fine. The location is great. Staff was friendly and helpful. I felt I payed full price and things should be as they once were just 15 months ago. But businesses can't hire enough people. read more

This was our first family getaway in 2 years - unfortunately travel plans have been somewhat restricted since pandemic began in March 2020. Gettysburg is an amazing town and learning more about it's incredible history during Civil War is mind-blowing! Would highly recommend one of the free ranger-guided tours at the National Cemetery as well as the Battlefield Tour on double-decker bus (catch it at Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center). Came for a 2 night stay this past weekend and this Best Western location clearly exceeded our expectations! Cleanliness is a top priority in the post-Covid climate, and the hotel was spotless! Shared areas as well as room were extremely clean, which helped make us more comfortable for our stay. This hotel is a great location in town. Gettysburg National Cemetery is walking distance right down the road, and Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center is a 5 minute drive. Terrific dining options in walking distance from casual family food (Friendly's, McDonald's) to various pubs / taverns. Walk down Baltimore St towards Gettysburg Hotel for a great scenic view of some Civil War houses - lots of shops and sights along the way! I've seen on other customer reviews (for other hotel chains as well) how people tend to get somewhat hostile over new environment of breakfast selection in post-Covid world (I'm looking at you Bob R review on 6/09/21!!). OK, so you can't make your own waffles - boo freakin' hoo! I found the breakfast here to be more than sufficient and plenty of delicious options to choose from! 3 different types of individually wrapped Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, 3 different types of individually wrapped muffins, 3 different types of juice (individually packaged), yogurt cups, bananas, and cereal bars / Pop-tarts. This was more than satisfying for a "grab & go" breakfast...you can either bring it back to your room (room has microwave to heat up breakfast sandwich) or you can go up to the lounge on 3rd floor (where breakfast normally would be served) where they have a terrific view of battlefield across the street! Most importantly, the staff here are all very friendly, courteous, and polite. Special shout out to Brian -- met him upon check-in and he thoroughly explained everything we needed to know for our stay (breakfast hours, pool hours, let us know what you need, etc). Saw him again at check-out and we had a brief discussion about how town has ghost tours, and instances where he had personal experiences in Gettysburg re: ghosts of Civil War. Brian is a terrific asset to your guests! Overall this was a phenomenal experience, and will certainly be staying here again when we return to Gettysburg soon! Awesome job BW! read more

We stayed for one night to break up a long drive and we had a blast. The hotel itself is beautiful. It's clean and smells clean... no strange odors like we've noticed in other hotels. The decor is clean and represents Gettysburg and it's history.. not just tacky generic hotel decor. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is an indoor pool that the kids loved. The complimentary breakfast was good and had a good selection.. our 2 year old was fascinated by the pancake machine and we really enjoyed looking over the battlefield while we ate and woke up. The hotel is located next to numerous restaurants, directly across from the battlefield, and is within 5-10 minute walking distance of sights and shops in town. Spent 1 night here passing through Gettysburg. The woman at the front desk was so friendly and informative. Many restaurants within walking distace, as are many interesting historical sites and gift shops. Rooms were clean, breakfast had a descent selection and pool was refreshing. I wasn't initially thrilled at staying at a BW for a week, but my stay here was very nice. The staff was great, the room was very nice. Loved the pool, I had it mostly to myself as we were in the middle of an ice storm. Only negative was the staff always smoking by the back entrance. I'll stay here again in the future. read more

This hotel had its grand opening right in time for Memorial Day weekend with a $150/night promo - perfect for our last minute booking. We were able to check-in early, but was first offered a room that was adjacent to the lobby. I don't know who would ever want to stay in that room, unless they had some sort of disability and was not able to move further into the hotel. Practically in the lobby and next to the elevator, can't imagine the noise level. They kindly granted my request for a different room. The room itself was a generous size with two queen beds, a mini fridge, microwave and safe - everything you need. However, even though everything was new, things still had a cheapness to it - crunchy sheets and thin towels. The complimentary breakfast is as you'd expect and basic. As any new establishment, they are still working out the kinks like issues with the elevator. For the price, I think other hotels can provide better value. read more

Better than any BW I've ever stayed in. Hotel was immaculate and the rooms were extremely well-appointed. Every staff member we interacted with was polite and went out of his or her way to help us. Even the breakfast attendant was extremely pleasant! Breakfast was the typical BW breakfast. Though the view was cool, if you are a breakfast foodie definitely go out to eat. For your money, you can't beat the Best Western. If the owners can keep it up as this brand-new hotel ages, I'll never stay anywhere else in Gettysburg. read more

We had a great time staying here. All the staff was super sweet and friendly-- from the cleaning lady to the morning and night front desk staff to the person managing breakfast. Hotel is super clean and looks brand new. I like that best westerns are so functional-- they have everything you need. We had a fridge and microwave in the room. Downstairs they have free coffee and hot water/tea for guests. They also sell snacks and drinks by the front desk (although water is sort of pricey at $2/bottle which is to be expected I guess). It snowed and rained (freezing rain) most of the time we were there but they did an amazing job clearing away the snow and salting the sidewalk/roads promptly. You can easily walk to downtown Gettysburg and bunch of restaurants/shops from the hotel too. Eat at Dobbin house if you stay here, amazing food! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the paper thin walls!!!! I could hear our neighbors and I'm sure they could hear us even though we were trying to be super quiet so that was super annoying! read more

My son got married in the area on 6/15/19. We looked at hotels back in August, 2018 and worked with Kelly Eckard to reserve rooms for our guests. Best Western is not typically a hotel that I would consider but this hotel is fairly new and was beautiful. Kelly and I emailed throughout the year and she always responded quickly and was attentive to our requests. The staff at the hotel were extremely accommodating. They have a private enclosed breakfast area on the 3rd floor which they allowed our party to reserve and use in the evening. It is not right in the center of town which eliminates a lot of traffic but everything is in walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel. read more

My wife and I stayed here with our 6 month old for our anniversary weekend. The hotel is perfectly situated in the area. If we did not have the baby with us we could have walked most everywhere we went. The battlefield is literally across the street and the Gettysburg Museum and visitor's center is a very short walk from the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best ones we ever had at a hotel and the staff at the breakfast could not have been more pleasant and friendly. The front desk people were also polite and friendly as were the housekeeping staff. The cost is a little steep but the place is an operating room, breakfast was very good, staff were very nice and the location could not be better. I would recommend unless you are looking for a more bare bones and cheaper place to stay. read more

Hotel is newer and clean. Staff at checkin and during stay were great and very helpful. Location was top notch for getting to area attractions. Breakfast staff was very attentive. Breakfast room is a bit small but has a great view...loved the waffles. I wasn't a fan of the coffee, but that is being nit picky, and it could be that I am not used to city water versus spring water when brewing. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Ours had s slight smell of bleach but again could have been the water. I did not bring that to the attention of the staff because it really wasn't a big deal. I will say that the walls are a bit thin and the child upstairs turning laps at midnight was a bit much, but again no need to alert the staff. In my opinion it can happen in all hotels. The only other thing I would ask is why there is not a fan in the restroom, but not a deal breaker. Would definitely stay here again. read more

WiFi is terrible very terrible. Every time we left our room our key didn't work to get back into our rooms. The front desk said it was from our cell phones but we would go from the front desk to our room and the key wouldn't work. No snack machines. They have you buy stuff from a little store that's in the hotel and it so expensive. The pillows are lumpy like they are old and the bed is very firm. Good for someone who likes a firm bed with lumpy pillows. Iwould not be staying here again. read more

We just spent two nights at this hotel. The lobby was very welcoming-with coffee and tea available at all hours and a table full of menus from local restaurants. Our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast room (free) is on the third floor. Diners can eat their breakfast and look out over the battlefield! Another touch that I enjoyed was the staircase. We try to use the stairs as much as possible, and usually hotel staircases are pretty unattractive. But here the stairs were carpeted and artwork by local artists was displayed. It is a small thing, but a very nice touch! The staff were all very friendly and helpful read more

As others have posted, the hotel is new. Over the summer my mom came here and looked at it to see if we'd want to stay there for a trip this fall; a maid was kind enough to show her around and she was impressed and booked it. The room decor is classy and kind of urban. The shades of blue in the lobby and breakfast room match the Gettysburg theme and are relaxing. The breakfast was great; lots of options including milk-free and gluten-free. The ladies working there were great; they were constantly refilling food options, cleaning up, etc. On our last day the egg option that was put out included cheese which wasn't an option for someone with a food allergy so they made separate eggs without cheese. The breakfast area is on the third floor with an amazing view of the battlefield. Our room was near the breakfast area but the noise wasn't an issue (and the hotel was full while we were there). There's only one elevator but we never had to wait for it. The hotel is in a great location to be able to walk around downtown to get to restaurants, shops, and museums. I enjoyed using the fitness center. The TV included many channels. The downside to the TV was that it was small and we couldn't find a sleep timer on the remote. We were able to find parking every night. Unlike a different poster, we had no issues with the towels or sheets and the bed was comfortable. We felt safe while staying there. We plan to stay here again on our next visit! read more

We recently spent two nights at the Best Western Gettysburg Battlefield Hotel. We were so pleased when we entered the gorgeous lobby. It is clean, bright and beautifully decorated. Our room was just as clean and nicely decorated. The beds and pillows were more comfortable than my own! The breakfast room is superb! They have quite an array of food for a complimentary breakfast. I have made waffles at hotel breakfasts before, but never had the option of different flavored waffles. In addition to regular waffles each day, we were offered blueberry waffles one day and chocolate chip the next. I have never seen a pancake machine before. A press of the button and 60 seconds later, two tender pancakes drop onto your plate. The fried egg patties and sausage are also delicious. They even have a machine that dispenses water, apple juice, orange juice, and zero calorie strawberry-kiwi flavored water. There were also many other foods to choose from - fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt. You can sit and gaze onto the battlefield as you enjoy this delectable food. We were surprised that we could even buy our Battlefield Tour tickets at the front desk. These tours depart from the Visitor Center, but the desk clerk told us that during the summer, a shuttle will take you from the hotel to the Visitor Center. I am so sorry that we didn't bring our swimsuits. The indoor pool was so inviting. It was so clean and the painted mural on the wall was lovely. We were very jealous of the people taking advantage of this lovely warm area on such a chilly day! The hotel is at such a great location, you can stroll down Steinwehr Avenue to many shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay at the Best Western Gettysburg Hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting this historic area. read more
