When we left the room around 10:30am, multiple housekeeping carts were in the hall, and five doors were open, which I would assume were open for turnover service. We returned at 7:50pm, and all five doors were still open, and all five rooms still as messy as they were this morning. Our room was also not turned over. After calling the front desk and letting the phone ring 11 times, I went downstairs and Syracuse's finest citizen was sitting on his arse playing on his phone. Less than two feet from the desk phone. I was told that housekeeping left for the day. I asked for towels and that was that. The owner needs to do better, especially because a top restaurant is on the premises. UPDATE: Following day, left and returned. Housekeeping "made" the bed which was actually hilariously terrible but the clincher...they left our door open. Don't know for how long. Everything seems to be here. Stopped by the front desk and the housekeeping champ shuffled some papers and I think may have realized SHE was the guilty party and walked away. This place is a joke and everyone needs to trust the reviews.

That may sound Kareny of me but in a hotel that's minimalistic and touts their functionality a non working room tv is kind of crappy representation. The new remote didn't work either and all the front desk offered was to switch our room but since we had already unpacked we didn't really want to take the time to do after driving all day.

The hotel was nestled back on a "lonely road" that seems like an industrial area, however, it's a couple minutes from the thruway. This hotel was quiet, extremely clean, and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. The bed was really comfortable too and I'm super picky when it comes to bed comfortability. The room was very spacious and had a fridge and a microwave. They have Dove toiletries in the bathroom. I received a welcome bag with Fritos, chocolate and two waters when I arrived. They had a 24 hour coffee station and also a water station in the lobby with cookies. The front desk associate informed me that they had a full hot/cold complimentary breakfast in the morning till 11am. She also told me that the indoor pool was open until 10pm. I checked out the pool and decided to go by a cheap bathing suit at Target to utilize the pool. The pool was small but very clean, from the floors to the pool itself, to the restroom in the pool area. There's a huge sign stating that anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult, however, some unruly teenagers were alone in the pool acting a fool and one of them was in street clothes in the pool...GROSS! They need to add to the sign that a bathing suit is required to enter the pool. Perhaps the "pool rules" should be more emphasized when checking in and/or posted OUTSIDE the door to get into the pool. I did enjoy swimming and relaxing in the pool after the annoying brats departed LOL! Parking is free and plentiful. I would definitely stay here again...maybe will do so for the State Fair!

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. They have a friendly dog named Riley who helped us forget how much we missed our own pets. We plan to return here each time we return to Syracuse.

It's usually a pretty good mix of all age ranges though. They also have great wing deals during SU games and sell a bunch of other small appetizers. They always have peanuts at the bar... you can throw the shells on the floor (bartenders encourage it!). One of the few places around that stil have a shuffleboard. They also have a pool table and a couple dart boards. There are 2 bars and an outdoor patio (covered) for smokers.

Staff were all very nice and the lobby/ entrance is attractive enough. I was given a room close to checkin which was great. The bathroom was much bigger than I expected. The fridge worked and was clean. The decor/ artwork was nice. There was a good size TV and the hot water and water pressure in bathtub worked well. Lots of outlets and light options so you could adjust as needed. The AC worked. The towels were clean and decent quality with a good number and variety of sizes...not too rough. Also the sheets were comfortable. They did have a continental breakfast, but I didn't try it. It looked like muffins, cereal, oatmeal. Blinds were easy to close and closed all the way. I have stayed at another nearby place that had broken AC one time and whose blinds don't close all the way. It had a full size iron and ironing board and coffee maker although I didn't use them. The desk was clean. Everything was dust free. Cons: one of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. Not supportive at all. I have slept on Walmart futons and old couches that were more comfortable. The pillows were small and seemed like the pillows you can get at Walmart for 3 dollars. The comforter didn't really appear to be clean. I would recommend taking the comforter off the bed. It doesn't look like a material that is easy to clean and also isn't comfortable. I found a long hair in the bed. I'm sure it came from housekeeping or hung on after a previous wash but ew. There was also a hair in the tub. I was excited to see a hairdryer because the other places I stay in the area don't always have them. The hairdryer started to make loud noises and then stopped working. The walls were thin and there was some kind of running water sound that I kept hearing intermittently, all through the night. I thought maybe it was the fridge but I don't think so. At one point I sleepily woke up and thought maybe it was the coffee machine leaking and soaking the laptop I left on the desk. It wasn't. It was too often to be a toilet in another room I would think. I am a pretty deep sleeper and this made it tough to sleep. I saw a few random bugs in the lobby/ hallway that probably came through the entrance and there was a spider in the shower. Something in the room had a chemical smell that reminded me of flea and tick treatment. I'm not sure if it was the bedding, carpet, or residual cleaning products. Based on other reviews it sounds like they have made a lot of improvements with cleaning in the last six months. I think they just need to keep working on it...but the beds are still an issue.

I was traveling with my sister, brother in law and their family as my nephew graduated from SU that day. My brother in law booked 3 rooms through Booking.Com and unfortunately there was a mix up and although his card was charged and had a confirmation number, there was no reservation when we got to the hotel. The manager and staff were so accommodating and were persistent in getting to the bottom of our issue. I was in the lobby but heard the manager ( I believe) calling Booking.Com to clear up the matter. Other staff came out to check on us while we waited and offered us water and snacks. It could have turned out badly for us but they got to the bottom of it. I wanted to express my appreciation and hope they can be recognized. The rooms were comfortable and clean. One of the nicest breakfasts I have ever had. Thank you again from a recent traveler!

The hallway to my room had very stale air, sort of musty. Several areas smelled of marijuana. I didn't see anyone and the place seemed fairly quiet. I got to the room and the door was very hard to open and close. The room is fairly larger with standard hotel decor. Everything appears to be fairly clean. The bed is really comfy. The AC seems to operate when it wants to. It's not cooling properly which would be a problem if it was hot out. No microwave in the room but there is larger size mini fridge which is a plus. There's a few blemishes here and there in the room. The side entrance door has no security lock on it, that's a negative. There is a key card device there but the door doesn't lock. Over all it's not a bad place but it's not a great place. Good for a night, maybe two. It wouldn't be my first choice to come back to. *Edit* I had to come back and update this review, and to drop it down to two stars. After about 10pm Saturday night, someone was smoking somewhere and the room was filling with cigarette stench. I tried calling the front desk but there was no answer. I quit smoking years ago and this stench is horrible to me now. My throat is still irritated from this.

Good thing our room was not at the other end of the property or we would have had to take a hike and miss our appointment. Would not stay here again.
