Townsquare is located next to the ShopRite and directly in front of the Bob's Discount Furniture Store. Has plenty of parking and the interior is nice. Menu is extensive with both breakfast and lunch options. Ordered the Three Egg Deluxe with Bacon, Toast, and Shredded Home Fries. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time and all items were good. My Mainian friend temporarily immigrated to Wharton, so this was the ideal - never mind, easiest - place for a few of us to get together and reminisce about the future. We all found it right on time and joined each other inside for foods. Verdict: Standard diner. Standard parking arrangement (plentiful but packed), standard decor inside, standard good service, timely food, refills of drinks. For me: good pancakes, standard eggs, nice amount of bacon. I can't say I've had the full diner experience here with just one visit but it all went well enough that my permanent Wharton friend can lure me back for a second assessment. I realllllly wanted to like this place since it's walking distance from where I live, but I haven't eaten anything exceptional during my 2 visits. Unfortunately, my favorite breakfast food, hash browns, tasted slightly odd to me. It could be the oil they use, but I haven't quite figured it out. The egg and cheese omelette is pretty decent, but it's nothing special/spectacular. The mozzarella sticks tasted frozen. The ice cream had freezer burn (the worst!). The M&M cookie was stale and hard. Positives: the diner is really cute and old fashioned looking, and there is plenty of parking! The wait staff are very attentive and friendly! Atmosphere: The Townsquare Diner is located on the main road and a big building. It's not a shiny or metallic building but a regular looking restaurant building. The inside of the Townsquare Diner has plenty of seating, a full-length bar, and tables, and booths. We sat in a corner booth with strange neverending mirrors so you could stare at yourself all meal long. Coffee: The coffee at the Townsquare Diner was good. It was brewed hot and fresh and the waitress kept it refilled often. Food: The Townsquare Diner menu is enormous and has everything and anything you could want in a diner. It took a while for me to decide what I wanted. The Townsquare Diner drink menu is also one of the biggest I've seen. In fact, it's probably bigger than the majority of bars I've been too.  A few things the menu at the Townsquare Diner is known for include onion rings, gluten free menu, greek salad, breakfast meals, and their business power lunches. For an appetizer, I decided to order the Meze Platter and I was thoroughly disappointed. It was bland and boring and had nothing unique or exciting about it. For my entree, I ordered the stir fry, which came with mixed vegetables, including corn and cauliflower. Plus a nice serving of rice. The entre itself was excellent and I would order it again, but the Meze platter was bland and boring. Service: Our waitress at the Townsquare Diner was great and I couldn't say enough good things about her.  Her good service kept the Townsquare Diner from receiving an F. However, the food took a long time to come out with no explanation of why. It took roughly 30 minutes for our Meze platter to come out and there was nothing cooked with it. It was just thrown onto the plate. Overall Thoughts/Would I Come back? It wasn't my favorite. It wasn't the worst diner stop ever, but I would need a reason to come back. In short the Townsquare Diner is a dump! The food has no presentation to it, just thrown on a plate. The desert display was 70% empty and what was available was stale and then some. Charged us $5.50 for a cappuchino from a greek vendor that cost him $.50 giving the owner a 1200% mark up in price. The service was normal but you could tell right away that the place is going out of business. Ordered food, they forgot some items to include that we repeated ourselves numerous times. The burger was thrown on a white plate and that it, resembled a person getting up at 3 am and throwing the burger on the george forman grill machine and throwing it on a paper plate. This place needs to concentrate more on the presentation of the food, you think you, this place being in business for some 20 plus years, would know by now how to present food, or is it, lets see how much we can make by giving the customers close to nothing! read more

Haven't been able to find a diner that really impresses me. Townsquare Diner had pretty slow service. I was sitting for over 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order, I almost thought they forgot about our table. It took quite a bit of time before our food came out as well. I got banana walnut pancakes with a side of potatoes. The bananas are cooked into the pancake which I didn't realize but it was still good! The hashbrowns were okay - nothing to rave about. We were able to be seated right away at TownSquare diner. I ordered the two eggs hard boiled with toasted English muffin, Canadian bacon, which I asked for them to brown nicely on both sides. The two eggs came with home fries. My partner ordered two eggs sunny side up with home fries. We had coffee and it was so good. The service was very good and the waiter was friendly. The diner was very clean and I noticed that everyone was working to keep the place running smoothly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant any day. Now, I'm a huge French Onion Soup lover and I have to say ... their French Onion Soup was only so-so. The cheese seemed to be provolone which is a big no-no as it's very stringy and hard to eat. And of course, when the cheese is stretching from your mouth to the table .. that's when someoneis walking past your booth. The soup itself was HOT and tasty but honestly, I wouldn't have the French Onion there again (unless they start using Swiss or gruyere cheese). Also, they gave me a teaspoon to eat my soup with. I weigh 240lbs... I need a soup spoon! My Cheeseburger, on the other hand, was delicious. Man, did that hit the spot. Since we were at the Rockaway Mall, we decided to stop at this diner since it was so close by. It was a busy time and there were no open booths so we sat at a table. I'm never crazy about that at a diner, but it was our choice. The only issue is that it's a very tight dining room, lots of tables crammed in. We ordered breakfast food and everything was very good. I had hash and eggs and my wife also had an egg dish. A bonus I liked about the place is this cheese bread they put at the table before the meal. Was very good! Absolutely terrible diner. I had to come here because it is convenient and down the street from the hospital that my father in law is staying at. First we ordered two sandwiches, one a BLT and the other was a turkey BLT and I ordered a Greek Salad. I've literally never gotten a Greek Salad that was bad from a diner as it's a staple.... until today. I've attached a picture of the bottom of the container to prove that instead of dressing (which maybe they put a tiny bit of olive oil) the salad was soaked in water! It pooled at the bottom of the plate. The only good thing about the salad was the pita bread. I ate maybe six bites and gave up. My husband and mother in law said their sandwiches were decent. Hence the extra star. But our order was expensive and they didn't even give my mother in law fries with her tiny sandwich. Will never bother with this place again. Stopped in for a quick bite at around 8. Was pleased to find a 10% off offer when I checked in on Yelp, a nice bonus. This spot is the stereotypical NJ diner. Tables on one side, booths on the other, plus a counter. It was about 1/3 full on this night. We were seated right away and handed menus the size of a short novel. There is just about anything you can think of on this menu, including some things you're not likely to think of, like Greek Chow Mein. We ordered the Yankee pot roast special, a reuben panini, and eggs with corned beef hash. The pot roast was piled high on toast with a bowl of gravy for dipping. The meat was slightly dry, but easily remedied by the gravy. The gravy was fantastic, made from scratch using the drippings from the roast, very rich and flavorful. This daily special came with soup and salad. Matzo ball soup is slightly salty chicken broth and 2 enormous matzo balls... Extra firm just like grandma used to make. The side salad is entree sized, teeming with fresh lettuce, cucumber, tomato and onion. We took half of this meal home, there was so much food. The reuben panini was terrific, piled high with freshly carved lean pastrami and corned beef, then pressed in the panini bread. I love the combination of different textures and flavors of the pastrami and corned beef in each bite. This was a really good sandwich. I had my diner staple, sunny side up eggs and corned beef hash. The eggs were perfectly prepared with unbroken and slightly cooked yolks. The hash was freshly made, and cooked on the griddle to have a little crunch on the edges. Buttered rye toast, and a fruit cup. Fruit was a disappointment because it was fruit cocktail, not fresh. My meal absolutely filled my diner breakfast craving. I have had lunch here several times and the food is decent. Stopped for a late dinner last night and it just wasn't that good. I had a beef gyro which I may add was one of the lunch specials that day. The pita was wrapped and the t sauce was served on the side after being asked what I wanted on it. The lettuce inside the wrap had brown edges and hardly any onions or tomatoes. The meat was plentiful but so very dry without the sauce and it also tasted more like a meatloaf than gyro meat. I had to apply the sauce as I ate sandwich. French fries were good. I also had a rice pudding-yucks! The rice was too underdone and it really had no taste. Had a business meeting and decided to meet here. I had their take on French dip and was pleasantly surprised. It came with well seasoned medium rare roast beef on a fresh roll. The "dip" was not the usual thin broth. Instead, it was more gravy-like and not too salty. Possibly the best I have had. It came with French fries that were golden brown - exactly the way I like them. Our server let us hold our meeting - keeping my soda glass full without asking. Very nice! I washed the meal down with a cup of good coffee and a huge slab of cheese cake. The coffee didn't need sugar it was that good. Lots of safe parking. A fair price for what you get. A friendly server. It kind of looks like a spaceship from Planet Big Hair. Eggs and potatoes adequately prepared. More TVs than Circuit City. But it's a big place, bustling, relaxed, like a town square in a small town if town squares in small towns still had people in them. I bet there's a lot of people who call this place home. I really, really wanted this place to be good... And it wasn't the worst, I stopped in with my family, my cousin couldn't help to be overwhelmed with amount of mirrors surrounding us as we sat down. I laughed because it was at that moment I had just read a review about all the mirrors in this place. Anyway our waitress was great and attentive.
