Corn beef hash and eggs wasn't necessary, so just ordered al la carte. Grits sucked. Grit balls in grit soup. Shoulda stirred it. I have eaten here steadily for twenty years Every meal I've ever gotten has been totally delicious. The menu is huge with wide choices for breakfast, luy, and dinner. Yes the prices are higher now because of the pandemic, but I dare you to find one that kept prices the same. The servers take your order promptly and bring the food in around 10 ish minutes. Me and my friend went here for brunch on a Sunday and I ordered a mushroom, sausage and swiss cheese omelette with home fries and a side of toast. Let me tell you, it had ZERO FLAVOR or seasoning! I never have to or like to add salt to my food, but I had to with my dish and it didn't help at all. Even adding ketchup to my home fries didn't help. Even with the sausage in the omelette it was so bland. The only thing I could taste was the natural slight sweetness of the Swiss cheese; and the mushrooms definitely came straight out of a can! Ok if you order the right thing here, it is on point. I thought maybe I should get the gyro. And RJ thought maybe he should get a chicken salad club sandwich. These seemed like appropriate diner orders. And these things were huge. Like enormous. Our server was pretty much a jerk but the food was banging. For example my gyro came with a tossed salad but for 2.95 more you can get a Greek salad. However he did not tell me this and took it upon himself to give me that and charge more for it. At Towson diner, what you see is what you get. It's mediocre greasy grub, but it's a perfect spot to hit if you're hungover or if you hate yourself. Or if you're a man over 45 talking to some buddies about how a Libertarian should really be in office and how that Kamila Harris is really no good for Washington. However, everything else on our table was also pretty bad, so I'm inclined to believe that this is just poor execution rather than some quasi-artistic protest from a line cook whose father was murdered by a Delmonico's waiter. Of particular note were the home fries. They were remarkably terrible. If you're eating at the Towson with someone whom you don't like, you should definitely recommend them. Order the cold cereal for yourself. Tell your companion that you need the Raisin Bran and wink. They'll change the subject. The standout of the meal was a glass of milk. It was well-executed, with the milk cold and inside the glass. I assume that the waitress prepared it. Nicely done. The service was excellent. Standard diner fare and having lived in NJ for the past 13 years I can say that I know diners. The other plus was that it's a short walk from the Sheraton Hotel. I had the French Toast (which was done with their homemade Challah bread) and bacon. The bread was thick and fantastic and the side order of bacon was 6 slices which is almost unheard of. The server came right up and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for a minute to look over the menu and then it took about another 15 or so minutes before the server came back, we actually contemplated leaving.
