We had an amazing time at the Itty Bitty Kitty Cafe! The rescue is very well operated with a great mission. The cafe has an incredibly warm environment. The owner, Laurie, and the other volunteers were extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and organized. We saw people of all ages (young kids, teens, and adults) having a great time. There are two playrooms filled with up to 20 kittens each. There was plenty of seats, toys, food, etc. Note to wear/brung socks when you visit! We forgot but they had the cutest socks available for purchase. We cannot recommend this cafe enough and hope all of these kittens get adopted soon!

The good: Two out of the three volunteers were wonderful. The kittens were sweet and well socialized. They even had a small cafe area near the front door where you could get cookies & drinks for very reasonable donation amounts. The whole place was extremely clean & organized. The bad: Laurie, the director of the cafe, was the person who checked us in. She was an older white woman with long greying brown hair in a red shirt. She rudely cut us off as we were greeting her and apologizing for being late. She essentially told us to shut up. Her energy was very negative and unwelcoming. I've been to every cat cafe in the Bay Area and some in Japan. I've never been treated like that! I hope someone coaches her on better customer service. Would have been a perfect experience otherwise. Update: Due to the responses from Laurie I dropped my initial rating from 4 stars to 2. Both her text and the reply were non apologies. Screenshots below. I'm going to address some points from her replies. Re being late: I texted Laurie that I would be late (per instructions). My time was reduced due to that, which is fine. Being late was my mistake. I was not upset about it. The rescue gets my money even if I were a no show, so what's the issue? Re barging in: My spouse and I walked in normally and greeted Laurie in our regular speaking voices. We were literally apologizing for being late. Unsure why she's perceiving us so negatively. Esp since we politely complied. I've never been treated like this at any other kitten cafe. We won't be back. Wishing you joy & happiness, Laurie. Genuinely sad that you're acting like this around kittens and folks who enjoy them. Such a great experience for my daughter and I. We were there last Sunday around 4pm. I highly suggest going earlier if you can because when we arrived, most of the kittens were taking cat naps. While there were more than 10 kittens in the room, only 2 or 3 were awake and sociable.

Customer service was horrible I called to see if I could book an appointment she answered said she was busy and hung up I went in and told her that I called to try and book an appointment but she told me she doesn't answer phone calls even though that's the number that was on the website then she told me with the biggest attitude why would you even come here from two hours away if you couldn't book an appointment even though there was an opening at 5 and I left Also I want to add on as I've seen another review about them going in abruptly their door is super flimsy so it opens very fast and hits the wall

Such a great experience! They have two rooms each with about 4-6 kittens in them. I was looking to adopt so I was able to meet all of the kitties in both rooms but I think they usually just keep you in one room if you're just visiting. They keep everything very sanitized and as organized as you can with a room full of kittens. I love that there are more and more of these places popping up in south bay

The place is cool and had a nice vibe to it. It's is a very nice environment and has a lot of kitty's. You can't wear shoes but you do have to wear socks and not hold the kitty's up high which is understandable. It mainly a small room for you to interact with kitty's and not an actual cafe. Love the kitty's.

Kind of like what was feared in Y2K, but really real -- "this date is invalid" it said for the new year entries -- Nightmare Land. Looking for an alternative program to migrate to I heard a lot about QuickBooks, but am rather 'old-school' and was trying to avoid putting our business accounting in the cloud and having a direct link from online bookkeeping to our checking account. As I had never used any other accounting program, and have no formal training, switching felt daunting. I found Prosper Bookkeeping on Yelp and reached out to Daniel Lin for a free consultation. He explained that I could use QBO without linking our checking account directly or utilizing AI features if I did not want to. So I decided to work with Daniel -- he patiently went through the steps to set up our books for the beginning of the year and coached me in bringing all entries for the year up to date. It was helpful for me to learn the new program UI through hands on instruction via Zoom, and then later review the videos Daniel provided of our training sessions. Daniel is a consummate professional - a non-judgmental and patient listener who is extremely knowledgeable and has a knack for quickly parsing through numbers. After using the program for a full quarter, I found that I had made several errors and could not reconcile our bank statements with QBO -- Daniel found the issues for me and fixed them in minutes. Like Magic! I'm very happy that I went with Daniel and Prosper Bookkeeping, FIVE stars!

During my time volunteering, I did enjoy getting to know some of the families who came through the lines, connecting with other college students, and working with a few kind staff members. Helping people in the community was meaningful. However, my overall experience was disappointing due to the behavior of some long-time "regular volunteers." I frequently observed volunteers speaking harshly to people receiving food, yelling at them, and showing little patience when there were language barriers. I even witnessed a volunteer smack someone's hand away from the produce boxes. While I understand there are rules that must be followed, the way some people were treated felt disrespectful and lacking empathy. I also noticed inconsistency in how rules were enforced. Volunteers were told not to leave their stations or keep water on the floor, yet some long-time volunteers regularly ignored these rules themselves. There was also frequent gossip and negative talk about other volunteers. Sacred Heart serves people who are often already going through difficult circumstances. Compassion and respect should always be at the center of that work. Unfortunately, I didn't always see that reflected in the environment. I hope the organization takes time to evaluate volunteer conduct and reinforce the importance of empathy when working with the community.
