This place is my go to for rabbit stuff. They sell hay as low as $1.50 a lb which goes a long way. My rabbit loves their oat hay. They have various types such as Timothy, alfalfa, orchard, and wheat. Lots of their toys are also natural. There's also a clearance rack that always has good finds. They also have litter, pellets, treats, toys, cages, and more. Great finds for your pets. The owners are very knowledgeable and friendly. They also support a lot of other local businesses and organizations by listing ads to find fosters, or the latest vet exam events. Definitely a place to check out to buy every day things for your pets.

I always pass by the area and never saw this store before until recently so I was excited to check it out. Went in today because my budgie birds were running low on food and thought I would check it out. They have pretty much everything and the prices are very reasonable! Everything is nicely organized and the staff members are very friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend you check this place out if you are looking for pet supplies etc.

I love coming to Andy's Pet Shop, and seeing the different kinds of accessories I can get for my bunnies (other than the typical options found at large chain stores like Petco). I was especially delighted to find that they offer large bags of fresh oat hay (that's hard to find locally) and other bunny favorites like the  bunny maze and cardboard tunnel (Tunnel Haven). There's such a big variety of items offered for all kinds of pets. They also have live animals in-store, some available for adoption, including fish, snakes, turtles, birds, mice, guinea pigs, chameleons, and a 35-yr-old parrot. I used to see bunnies here, but I appreciate that this establishment still has a good number of rescued animals, even during COVID. And they seem to be happy and well taken care of... the guinea pigs were especially playful, running around in their habitat. The employees are friendly, and provided helpful information when we asked about bunny nail trims (it's hard to find places that offer this, and not people who just do cat/dog maintenance but are more educated about rabbits). Also, there is both street parking and a medium-sized parking lot attached to the store... a huge plus in dowtown SJ. So much to love about Andy's! Hope they're around for years to come :)

    This is my cat

Lilah (my cat) loves everything that comes out of this pet store. We've gotten her so many peacock feathers and silvervine sticks. The great thing about this place is they give you the option to buy toys individually instead of buying packs of 3 whatever's at Walmart or Petco. I can actually test what my cat will like at low costs. The staff is warm and welcoming as well.

I adopted a guinea pig from Petco recently and read that they are social animals and do better in a pair or more. I want to adopt one from Andy's but I can't find the price of their adoption fee and would like to know?

The young ladies gave some great advice on which carriers would be the best options. Both of them also have cats and use these carriers. That really helped with our decision. But this summer we adopted a chihuahua mix that had got a bit fluffy and needed a haircut. I didn't know what to ask for, so the groomer (Carlos) gave some recommendations, and I went with his plan. I was a little surprised that the whole job took more than 2 hours, but they have a process that enables them to handle multiple dogs simultaneously. I was a little worried that our puppy would freak out in his first haircut, but he came through it fine. Kudos to the staff for their professionalism. Pro tip: call the store directly to make an appointment. That way you'll get all the details right, even if you're already in their online system. Also, show up on time. They get busy, and the groomers will spend time with you to discuss your options if you haven't put them in a hurry. Caveats: This was my first experience with the grooming services at this particular Petco. YMMV. I've had good experiences with the retail staff there as well, but like any retail store these days, sometimes they're understaffed. When the vet, Dr Gurtej Sarai, began the vaccines, one of my cats reacted as one would if they were being grabbed and slammed and noted my cat as "hissing" and gave me and my significant other a dirty look as if it was our fault our cat was upset. Don't be a vet if you can't handle a cat or dog not enjoying their treatment. I did not appreciate this experience at all. I would NOT recommend this location, vet, or assistants to ANY pet owner in the area. I am very disappointed in VetCo and PetCo in their handling of my pets and how they treated us owners when they treated my animals poorly. Very unprofessional for a vet to give a patient a dirty look when they are bad at their job. Sorry you can't get your own practice. I would highly recommend VetCo and PetCo to reevaluate their relationship with Dr Gurtej Sarai as he does not understand animals and their behavior. I will also be formally calling PetCo and VetCo to report this behavior and this vet. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION OR VET TO ANY OWNERS.

We found this place through Yelp and it was the closest to our all of our errands we had to run. We called beforehand and for holiday season, they were closing early at 2pm. We went around 12pm and the boutique was quite busy. The store is small inside, so it was hard to maneuver down the aisles to look around. I think because they are closing shop soon, so most products inside had a certain percentage off. We ended up getting our fur babies a knitted beanie, a jersey along with the baked goods they had available such as the cupcakes and peanut butter bites. Even after the store closing discounts, we found the total price to be expensive but we didn't really mind because it was for our pitty's birthday. The baked goods section is what it seems like most people come for. I read comments on Yelp after we had went here saying that other people's babies got sick from the treats and baked goods. We got lucky that three of our babies turned out fine after eating it, they seemed to really enjoy the treats. Only downside was that I did feel like the workers here really watch and somewhat follow you around the store. My boyfriend was in line for the baked goods, so I went to take a look around at the accessories (collars, leash and toys) but felt like the worker kept watching me so I got uncomfortable and eventually went back in line with my boyfriend. We had a good experience with the owner herself though since she was the one who helped us packaging the pastries.
