I had TP Tea bookmarked on Yelp for a while and finally had a chance to try it this afternoon. I got the TGY Family Milk Tea (50% sweet, no ice), which comes with boba, coffee jelly, and egg pudding. The egg pudding was my favorite but all were great. With the inclusion of toppings, I'd get 30% sweet next time. Ordering on the kiosks is easy - card only. Despite visiting ~3pm, my drink was ready within a few mins of ordering. The menu screens changing made reviewing the menu difficult but once I got to the counter, I better could review the menu on the kiosk. Would come back if in the area and definitely recommend the family tea!
One of my go to boba spots when I'm in the area. I can always trust TP Tea to be consistent and delicious. I love their black milk tea with qq noodles and their osmanthus aiyu lemonade. The service is incredibly fast and efficient, especially for how many customers are often at this location.
Easy to order and drinks are made quickly (Even on a busy Saturday afternoon). Great variety of drinks and fresh and chewy boba and they offer other great toppings as well. Not fully customizable with sugar levels and such, but they do have milk alternatives and you can make adjustments to some drinks. The velvet snow jasmine fresh milk and it was delish! Will be back.
Cute little boba shop tucked away in Berkeley, in the Telegraph district, close to several popular food joints. Parking is super convenient with several reasonably priced garages and plenty of cheap street parking. This place has a small seating area with a few tables and pickup options available. Ordering is efficient through a kiosk and fulfilled quickly. We ordered a matcha yuzu tea, a strawberry pudding with boba, a taro tea and a signature black tea with boba. All were excellent. They allowed for customizing the ice and sugar levels for all drinks. My favorites were the matcha yuzu and the signature black tea. The matcha yuzu was light, extremely fresh and citrusy. The black tea was strong and very high quality. The strawberry one was on the sweeter side so opting for a lower sugar level is a good idea. The taro one had an overpowering taro flavor. All in all, highly recommend this for a post meal dessert if you're in the area!
The strawberry milk tea is so delicious! I ordered it with 80% sweetness and it was perfect. The mix of black tea with strawberry works really well!
Haven't been to this TP Tea location in years! Used to come here weekly while I was in school. I'm glad to see that they are still doing well and in the same spot. When you enter, there are 3-4 different self order stations which is great because there was no wait/line! If you prefer ordering from a real person, it's a bit hard to get their attention but if you're lucky and can waive someone over they're happy to help. I ordered the Boba Fresh Milk Tornado with 50% sweetness for $6.25. I was really craving a matcha tornado but they only had the fresh milk and Thai tea tornados. Considering that it was only boba pearls, tornado (custard/cream), milk, and ice it was actually very good. Super refreshing, the custard went very well with the milk and perfectly cooked boba pearls. The pearls were bouncy and didn't stick to your teeth, they were also not over saturated in sugar either. I do have to say that the store itself was uncomfortably hot and humid. I'm not sure what was going on with the ventilation. They even had one of the front doors propped open and it felt like a completely different climate inside the store. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.
TP Tea in Berkeley is a solid 4-star spot for a boba run. The tea quality is consistently high, the boba has that perfect chewy texture, and the drinks look great with beautiful, distinct layers like their vibrant matcha and refreshing fruit teas. The only thing keeping it from a perfect 5 stars is the flavor execution--while good, the taste could be a bit better. Sometimes the sweetness levels feel slightly off-balance, and the tea flavor can get a little drowned out depending on the toppings you choose. The shop can also get pretty packed and lines move a bit slow during peak hours, but it's still easily one of the better, more reliable options in the area when you need a solid drink.
Boba came from Taiwan and this place proves the reason for it - amazing boba and tea quality! The ordering system is awesome - order your drink via the iPad - so you can customize it and no one will mess up your order (amt of ice, sugar, type of boba and toppings etc). All the youngsters love this place - it gives them the pick me up energy they need to focus on their studies :) I tried the mango smoothie and that was super tasty! Some places the boba is too hard and the tea is stale and bitter - NOT HERE - they are aiming for perfection and have achieved it! Loved the vibe of the place - the quantify of boba was very satisfying
TP Tea is one of my favorite boba places in Berkeley. I've tried many of the drinks on their menu, but my favorites are the lychee berry drink and strawberry milk tea. Their boba is consistently good and has a nice texture, and the strawberry and lychee flavors are a perfect pairing that not a lot of boba places have. The fruit tastes really fresh and not artificial or overly syrupy. The workers are pretty fast, and there's a few seats inside. I enjoy going here for consistently good boba and trying out their new seasonal drinks!
I used to work here as a student and I can vouch for them. Clean, fresh, and real tea. The price is reasonable for the quality of the pearls, milk tea and fresh ingredients. There is always a line so order ahead on Snackpass but otherwise also with the wait.
Great quality boba spot in Berkeley. They had 4 screens where you could order so that was super quick and easy to use. A bit expensive for boba and there is a significant wait post order. The lemon tea is very tart and flavorful. I usually do 50% sweetness but with lychee jelly I would've cut down the sweetness more going forward. read more
Got the matcha tornado and the black tea boba this time round and the matcha tornado was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I loved the ice of the drink and it was gorgeous with the earthy tones! The crème stuck on pretty tight to the cup so I highly recommend opening the drink and swishing it around with the spoon. The consistency was amazing and it was around $14 which I felt was reflected in the quality as well. The black boba milk tea was also yummy but the tea flavor got shafted a bit by the sweetness of the boba. read more
You order yourself at the kiosk and it definitely can get pretty hot here. There's seating and you can see when your number is getting called on the screen. Usually door is propped open with a fan. I come here when I come to Berkeley because the tea tastes authentic and not like powder. Sometimes wait is long but generally good service. read more
This place is iconic for their QQ Noodles (chewy noodle) topping. I stopped by and the staff was nice enough to let me sample it- I found it was not my favorite, quite literally a chewy noodle, but a unique concept. I ordered a Tie Guan Yin milk tea (roasted oolong) with boba and grass jelly, 50% sweet. The tea was high quality and I definitely enjoyed this over similar spots like Sharetea. read more

The strawberry milk tea was like a tasteful strawberry dessert. Very creamy and sweet! Thankfully you're able to adjust your sweetness level if that's not what you're looking for. Not many comments on the service, we ordered through a kiosk and the drinks (3) took about 15 minutes to come out which is not bad at all! A good amount of seating on the inside and lots of cute decor! read more
Some of the best boba I've ever had. I've been meaning to try this spot since it's an authentic Taiwanese shop. I ordered the strawberry milk tea which was basically a smoothie but so creamy and smooth! I got it with boba which was the perfect texture and bounciness. The ordering system was super simple - went up and ordered on a tablet and then they had a bigger screen with all the orders in progress and it even said how long til the order was ready. Will definitely be back to try some more traditional tea options! read more

Would definitely recommend ordering ahead through Snackpass for this location if you can! The first time I went, my kiosk order took around 15 minutes - I went on a Friday at around 2pm though. There are a couple of tables inside for dine-in, but not much space especially when it gets busy. I got the Taiwan Classic Milk Tea with 0% sugar and regular ice. It came with QQ noodles and regular tapioca. I usually like my boba not too sweet, and 0% sugar was not sweet at all. Sometimes other boba shops - or fruit teas - have a little sweetness even when you select 0%. With this one I could really taste the milk tea flavors, would recommend if that's what you're looking for. My friend got their Mango Fresh Milk Tea and she really loved it. Few boba shops offer tieguanyin as an option, so I was pleasantly surprised! The boba is good and chewy, but the milk tea tastes fairly similar to other boba places around. I wanted the tea taste to stand out just a bit more, and while it's not one of my top choices, it is still worth a try if you're not around your favorite store. The inside space is small, and often crowded, so plan accordingly! read more

My favorite boba place in Berkeley finally have snacks! I tried their fried chicken wings and fries today. I got the sour cream and onion flavor for friends and it reminded me of the Lays chips but more sweet. Their fried chicken seasoning is quite good and has a nice crunch but their chicken is unusually soft (I think it's the batter under the crunch that feels soft and fatty). I also like that they expanded their seating inside so we could eat the snacks somewhere while it's nice and hot. read more

TP tea is literally my second home and my go-to spot for boba. My go to is the tie guan yin milk tea with boba. A classic. The tea game is strong. I hate it when I get a milk tea, and it tastes watery AF. The boba is on point. Very QQ (which means chewy). Sometimes I opt for a fruity option, and the strawberry milk tea is another popular item. You can't go wrong with anything here. Beware that the wait to get your order can be long because all the UC Berkeley college kiddos flock here. read more
Okay, a boba tea drink a day is starting to get out of hand; it's going to catch up to my coffee and beer routine, LOL. Is Taiwan tea the newest fad? Quality/Quantity - Today we got the following: Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea - 4 stars, this was better than yesterday's. My daughter also felt that the size of the boba in this drink was too small. Boba Milk Tea - 3.5 stars, good, had a hint of chocolate in the after taste? Pineapple Ice Tea with Tea Jelly - 3 stars, yesterday's was better than today's. Atmosphere - Small. Very limited indoor seating, no outdoor seating. No parking, good luck. Open 7 days a week from noon to 9pm. Service - Self service via kiosk, so good. Price - Approximately $7 each including tax. Owner Comment - Congrats on your company's success since 2005 and your success at this location since 2019. You only have 2 in the USA? Lastly, congrats on our 70+ worldwide locations and growing. read more
Hmmm not the best Passion fruit tea 7/10 - definitely get 25-50% sugar (I got 100% and it was definitely way too sweet) - aloe is a great topping (it was suggested on the menu) - sweet and tart drink with nice tea flavor Matcha Latte 1/10 - doesn't taste like matcha AT ALL - tastes like low-fat milk (which means it doesn't really taste like milk tbh) - this drink is so bland and no worth it at all Overall for these 2 drinks almost being $14 total....I would not come back! I don't know why it is so popular but there are better options near by. It was nice that it was open in New Years though. read more

Spotlight goes to QQ noodle toppings - OG boba fans.. if y'all remember Verde Tea Cafe in Cupertino when their QQ noodle toppings were poppin... well this doesn't compare but it's the closest we'll get so I'll take it! Infinitely better than the TP Teas in seattle. So many more menu options with equal if not better quality. I loved the creme brulee strawberry milk tea. Everything good about the strawberry milk tea with the plus of cream and a brulee'd top too. Literally perfection read more
The mango passion fruit smoothie hit the spot! Even though it's winter I still love a icy refreshing fruity drink. I love me a little tart and a little sweet, and mango passion fruit at 50% was perfect! I'm usually a slow drinker, sipping as I go about my day. But I drank this one at a much quicker pace just because it was so good. My friend had the moo taro, which came with real taro at the bottom--YUM. Will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area. read more

I may have judged TP Tea too harshly in my first review because my recent order here was amazing. The tea flavor in both the pearl milk tea and the passion fruit green tea was the strongest that I've ever tasted. If you like your fruit teas to be slightly bitter and to leave that numb taste in your mouth, then this is the place for you. In addition, the small pearls in the milk tea were the perfect size and firmness. I still think the prices here are crazy though -- be prepared to spend $7.50+ on each drink if you get toppings. Some of the fancier ones are even closer to $9. Also, since this place is right near UC Berkeley, there's always a lot of people ordering and the wait can get long. Definitely try to order ahead if you can! read more

TP TEA is the US branch of Chun Shui Tang - the boba shop in Taiwan that invented boba! My favorite boba in Taiwan is Chun Shui Tang, so I was super excited to try this place! I ordered the pearl milk tea and my brother ordered the strawberry milk tea. I thought my pearl milk tea was alright. It wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be with 50% sugar. However, my brother's strawberry milk tea tasted like a strawberry smoothie with 50% sugar and it was delicious! I recommend the strawberry milk tea over the pearl milk tea. I wasn't able to order the Taiwan Classic milk tea either because they ran out. I'd come back for the strawberry milk tea along with trying the other milk teas! read more

TP Tea is a very solid place for milk teas. Being first in line right when they opened, their boba was already prepared to be served to people. I got the tie guan yin milk tea with 0% sweet (chaotic right?) and boba. For a 0% sweet drink, the milk tea is very smooth. I like how strong the tea even with 25% sweet! One of my favorite boba shops in that long street. They also have dine in seating as well as kiosks to order. There's also an option to order ahead. Wait time is honestly minimal if you go at the right time! read more
Hands down my absolute favorite boba place. The quality of their ingredients is amazing and they offer a variety of seasonal and matcha drinks. If you know me, you know that I'm a self-proclaimed matcha aficionado. I ordered the Taro Matcha Latte for myself and I think it's safe to say that it's my favorite drink ever?! I can confirm that their Kyoto Uji Matcha is in fact authentic and so rich & creamy. They also used real taro which had a great texture and the perfect sweetness to compliment the matcha (which I got half-sweetened). Absolutely in love with this drink. I also tried the Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea which we ordered with boba and QQ noodles. It was my first time trying QQ noodles and I liked the chewy texture a lot. Also, when we were here we were able to get this topping for just 1 cent! What a steal. There are not as many drinks on the menu compared to other boba places in Berkeley, but the quality of the drinks are higher than others. Service was efficient and friendly and there were a couple tables for seating. we got the mango matcha and black sesame drinks. the pearls were nice and chewy and i liked how the black sesame one had cube pearls. mango was lowkey overpowering the matcha flavor but the black sesame one was good and had a nice nutty flavor. wasn't the best boba i've ever had but would def come back another time to get a more basic drink because I've heard their tea is really good quality. we also got 30% sugar and it was still moderately sweet. read more

I really love TP Tea, especially the milk tea! It's my favorite tea shop chain in Taiwan, but I would say that the milk tea tastes a little different from the other TP Teas I have been to. Overall though not bad! read more
Delicious bobas and fruit teas!!! Same as other TP tea chain, just love it. This place is hot! HOT as the weather hot lol! The sun hit them so hard that the whole place is like living hell lol. I suggest to order on their pick up and just pick up and go! Don't stay there specially during hot days or not so hot days read more
