I ended up getting 2 of their recommended drinks, Thai Tea Brûlée Tornado & Strawberry Milk Tea both at 50% sweetness & it tasted more like a 30% sweetness, but it was perfect, I wouldn't go any lower in sweetness. I come here very regularly (like several times a month ) because I love their strawberry milk tea! It's different from other spots because it's blended and icy. You can taste the tea flavor still too. This location offers sweetness levels all the way down to 15% which some TP Tea locations do not. Honestly I've never tried any other drink here since I always come for the strawberry milk tea so my review is biased and limited. Compared to other cafes or boba shops, there is almost zero interaction with the employees. You order through the app or kiosk, and your order number is displayed when it's ready. The space is small with a couple seats inside and outside so I wouldn't recommend it as a hangout spot. I usually order through the app on the way over and it's ready by the time I get there. Passion fruit is always good here. I like getting it less sweet. The tea jelly pretty much tastes like green tea. My sister got the matcha tornado half sweet. It's nicely balanced and not overly sweet. Just make sure you really mix it together before drinking. Inside is pretty small, not really a place to sit and hang. We always order ahead and it is always ready by the time we get there. If you go during their peak hours, parking can be scarce as the lot is small and has a lot of other businesses. read more

I walked in for a quick boba craving and heard of this place because of their SoCal location. First thing I noticed was their lack of AC. It was pretty hot inside, so I decided to hang outside in the summer heat because it was significantly cooler than inside. They have a wide variety of drinks, which I appreciate. However, when I got my drinks I was surprised! I got the Strawberry Milk Tea & Strawberry Matcha with boba. The Strawberry Milk Tea was frozen like a slushy? It was also kinda brown in color which is interesting. You can't taste the strawberry at all - only ice and milk. I think they should specify in the name that it's a blended drink because I did not realize. The Strawberry Matcha wasn't too bad. It was enjoyable but I was caught off guard by the boba size. It was smaller than regular boba but bigger than mini. Tasted good though! Just strange sizing. I will say, their service was very quick to deliver drinks and it's reasonably priced for the area. This is a new family favorite! I love the TGY family drink here. Their Tiguanyin tea is so good and smooth. I get mine w 0% sugar, pudding, and double coffee jelly (no boba). Tp Tea has a great variety of drinks! My go to is the Tie Guan Yin milk tea with 80% sugar and boba. This drink is a great refresher and has really nice flavor. Their tornado drinks are interesting and more creamy where you need to mix it when your first get it. The service there is friendly but minimal. Second time here, it's one of my go to boba spots before driving back to Los Angeles! I tried their Thai Tea Brûlée Tornado (no boba, 50% sweet) and it had the perfect creaminess and just enough sweetness from the creme brûlée flavor. I think it's a super unique drink as I'm used to matcha brûlée and it was a fun change in the flavors. A classic one I order is their TGY FAMILY Milk Tea that comes with boba, pudding, and coffee jelly. Must try, I also get it with 50% sugar and it's got a great aroma, and the tea flavor shines through. Ordering is through a kiosk. It can be a bit hard to decide ordering if you've never had boba / milk teas before, but I just went with flavors I usually like. I'm sure the staff would be friendly and helpful if you ask them but I didn't speak to anyone on this visit. They move pretty quick and I got my drink order within 6 minutes. This is my husband's favorite tea spot in town. Definitely try and avoid peak times if you can though, particularly any warm/hot weekend afternoons. If not, you might have to wait up to 10 minutes for your order. Drinks: Sweetness levels are pretty average here compared to other boba shops, and so I would never recommend anyone get 100% sweet. They are almost always sold out of certain items like the watermelon or peach teas (in fact, out of almost 50 times we've gone, I don't think I've seen it available once). My go-to drink is the mango ice tea with aiyu jelly with 30% sugar (which is the lowest available for this drink). The fantastic fruit tea is also good, but in my opinion the fruits always take up way too much precious liquid space, so I'm happier getting a drink with more of the actual tea portion. As a suggestion, I think I'd rate this place 5 stars if a) there wasn't such a long wait during peak hours, and b) if they included additional fruit tea options such as grapefruit, peach, strawberry, -- and also my favorite tea topping, which is aloe vera! Seating: There isn't a ton of seating (either inside or outside) so you might have trouble during peak hours, but a lot of the orders are in-and-out so you will probably be able to score a seat without waiting too long. Pro tip: Regardless of when you go, I would suggest ordering online. When you get into the shop they have big screens for you to order online anyway, so you'd be quicker just ordering long before you arrive. They show you exactly where you are in the virtual line, and provide an ETA which is super convenient for us when we want to drop by to get some tea on our way to/from home! read more

The shop itself is on the smaller side but there are some tables and chairs, indoors and outdoors. When I came here yesterday, I ordered a Taro Matcha Latte. I loved my drink. I could definitely taste the matcha as it was strong and tasted like high quality. I got my drink at 30% sweetness, and it was perfect. I didn't realize how small this location is. Just a couple bistro tables outside and a couple inside. not very inviting to stay a while. it's more of a to-go spot. No games either. Another hint they don't want you to stay. My green tea w/cheese foam 80% sweet wasn't that great. It tasted like they forgot the sweetener completely. The tea was very bitter at the bottom. I was keeping an eye on the table situation b/c we were going to be 3 people and was able to snag a table. They wouldn't let use the restroom even though we were paying customers. The girl kept repeating, "no public restrooms". Um...okay but we're customers and just bought 3 drinks. She kept repeating, "no public restrooms." Perhaps they don't know what that truly means b/c that's for non-paying customers. Another sign that they don't want you to hang around. She directed us to go to the "taco spot" in the area. First boba review of 2023 and it goes to ::drumroll:: TP Tea! Well duh cause you're reading this on the TP Tea site. My friend told me TP Tea had opened in Pleasanton and I had to wait until my usual boba Tuesdays to try it out and today was the first of them. In short, although the drink felt less creamy than other boba shops and their boba not the standard large size, the tea is definitely higher in quality and you can taste it and the caffeine (I'm sensitive to caffeine). The boba was just okay wish it was a tad bit sweeter, but I ain't mad at this spot just wish it wasn't so deep in Pleasanton. L O C A T I O N TP Tea is in Mission Plaza relatively near The Press Cafe. It's next to QBeauty's Lounge. Parking can be a little tough as there's limited spots shared by all the businesses and also note some spots are specifically for a business. I N S I D E Basically just the ordering areas and a few chairs alongside the store front. Not a large space so expect to order and go. M E N U I wonder if they have an extended menu because I feel like what's shown on the screens is not everything. I just checked their Doordash and for sure there are more drinks on their menu that's not shown: https://www.doordash.com/store/tp-tea-pleasanton-24569655/. Now why are the milk tea drinks more expensive than the tea lattes, I'm a bit unsure. If I knew they had standard milk teas, I would've tried that instead. Anyway, I digress. They have you standard teas: a black, green and well not so standard Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess) oolong. They also have fruit teas, cheese foam, matcha, smoothies, and seasonal special drinks. To see how to order/customize your drink, the sign is actually on the left most poster on the left wall. Unfortunately when I was there I didn't notice until after I saw my photos that this is the only spot that you can see sugar levels, ice levels, and topping options. I forgot that they had qq noodle as an option. Toppings cost $0.65 or $0.75 depending on the type you choose. There's also options to add creama for $1.25 and $1 for oat milk and taro paste. I got the Signature Black Tea Latte with no sugar and no ice plus boba as a topping. I would say the drink itself is not bad considering it felt more liquid and less creamy than I'd prefer. The tea is strong and I'm feeling the buzz. For me, it's the perfect "none" sweet tea though I wish the boba actually was a tad bit sweeter. It's definitely on the hint of sweetness side. The size of the boba is a little smaller than your normal boba. I call this the medium sized boba but it's not as bad as another boba spot that I've had this sized from. The cook was a little uneven. They also say that with no ice there's a little space, but I didn't feel like there was a space at all. I guess the "foam" filled the space to make it look full but I did appreciate the notice for customers. S E R V I C E There was only one person ahead of me. So really it was relatively quick. Also only Credit/Debit Card accepted. No Cash. If there's a long line, consider the two other self-order kiosks to order. One is right next to the cashier and the other inside in the back front corner next to the poster on how to order your drink. O V E R A L L I wish the full menu was on the screen. If I knew they sold normal milk tea, I would've just tried that first. Perhaps that would be more creamier than the fresh milk lattes. Regardless, the tea flavor is present and strong. Boba could be cooked a little more consistently and a little more sweeter. But considering all things, it's not a shabby option, but why is so deep in Pleasanton and not closer to a freeway! Oh well. Finally had a chance to try this place. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30. WIth so many people inside, at first I didn't even see the kiosk in the corner. There was another kiosk right next to the cashier... so do I order from the kiosk or the cashier? Okay, I guess either one is fine. Just a minor confusion... The place looked nice, and the menu had many fancy looking drinks including mango milk teas, taro milk teas and Thai teas. I wanted to judge their drinks from a simple drink so I chose the premium jasmine green milk tea. It took a good 10 minutes for my drink to come out, but not a surprise given it was so crowded. I must say - the drink was average. It wasn't bad, but it certainly was forgettable. Maybe I should try a fancier drink, but if they can't knock it out of the park with a simple drink, I'm doubtful on their fancy drinks. Maybe it was an off day?
