This is the Tpumps located in Monrovia! I came here because my friend and I had just had sushi close by. I had been to the Pasadena location but never this one, so we decided to give it a try. I have always loved the concept of Tpumps and the customization of flavors and mixology. It was my friend's first time at a Tpumps so I was excited to show her what they had to offer. Walking in, I noticed how clean and spacious this location was compared to the Pasadena one. It was bright and welcoming. We were greeted as we walked in and we stood aside to look at the menu. My friend was thinking of what possible combinations would go together and the cashier was super sweet, offering the concoctions they had come up with for the day, which she ended up ordering one of them. I ended up getting an decaffeinated drink with lemon, guava and strawberry and basil seeds (boba bran). It was perfectly sweet and it didn't taste like syrup water, which I was afraid of because it was my first time getting a non-tea drink from Tpumps. Since this is a very grab-and-go type of location, we paid for our drinks, got it at the bar and left to walk around the area. There are so many options to choose from- there is something for everyone in your group, no matter how big it is! I have come with groups of 3-21 people- there isn't enough seating for groups of more than 4, but the store is not necessarily made to be a "hang out." (More of a "grab and go.") They also have free WiFi (there are signs by the pick up area with the password). Only downsides were that I don't remember seeing a restroom and the seating area was limited. Finally got around to trying this place!! I wanted to go so badly because I think it's so cool that you're able to create your own drink with up to three of the flavors they have listed on their menu. They had two jugs in the front you can sample. That night they had an iced green apple kiwi (I could only taste the green apple) and a hot pumpkin drink mixed with something else, but that was already empty so I didn't get to try it. :( You can customize sweetness here; I believe it was regular, half, and light. I opted for one of the customer favorites, which was the green apple lychee passion green tea with light sweetness and it was the perfect amount for me. The cashier that night was super pleasant!! A regular (which is pretty darn big) came out to be $3.50 which is such a good price for what you get, especially compared to the more expensive boba places that are around. The lychee flavor was strong, so the drink ended up tasting mostly of lychee with a hint of passion fruit, I didn't get much of the green apple flavor. I think that's to be expected if you mix too many of the syrups together though LOL. I'm definitely excited to try other flavors because the possibilities are pretty much endless! They have a few teas to try before getting up to the register to make your order. I love they have different milk options such as Lactose free creamer which comes with the drink, Almond, Soy and Whole milk. I got the brown sugar milk tea and loved it I have to say way better the my favorite at Tea Station and the boba is freaking amazing!!!!! I love supporting my local boba places. This place is great cuz they offer $2 daily specials of teas and I order a bunch to take home. I love their fruit mixes. You seriously cannot go wrong with their fruit mixes especially with lychee or passion fruit. Their boba balls are pretty chewy too. The artificial syrups aren't my favorite, I'd rather go for a place that is based on fruit juice or puree. So exited they opened one of these right by me!!! Just got back from a deployment and found out there's one down the street, husband and I made our way over and ordered a couple drinks. First of all, all the employees were friendly and welcoming. The guy at the register took his time and explainned EVERYTHING in detail. And I literally mean everything... I ordered a HOT Honey Rose Almond Milk Green Tea with honey boba very light sweetness. It was still a tad bit sweet (which I fixed when I got home by adding water). The lady at the counter said next time instead of ordering very light sweet, to order with no sugar at all. Regardless the drink was amazing! This is also the only place I know of that doesn't charge extra for ordering a hot drink. My husband ordered a lychee green apple green tea very light sweetness...he didn't end up drinking it until way later so all the ice melted. But he said it still tasted perfect. We also got one of the daily specials that are pre-made and ready to go, got a passion fruit lychee green tea. This was AMAZING as well! Great combo. Prices have gone up just a bit for their pumbo or their xlarge but still remains really affordable compared to other tea houses. their flavor combinations are super interesting and the menu is just an amazing selection of flavors that allow you to push yourself past the limits of flavors to try. They always put out one cold and one hot sample for you to walk in and try. It's also really cool that they have some pre-made teas or "daily specials" that are $2 (no boba). My fiancé will usually pick up a couple to bring home. Been to TPumps a bunch of times the past few years and I've never seen it busy. Never had to wait longer than 5 minutes I would say. The service is usually standard very transactional nothing too special. Parking for this location is relatively easy with huge signs guiding you on both sides of the street. I like that they leave out a different flavor of tea for people to try out which is great for indecisive people like me. The inside is pretty small with only a waiting section so this isn't the place to catch up with friends. My go-to is the Vanilla Rose Milk Tea (5/5) which is my absolute favorite drink here. It's something I always got in high school and continue to get to this day. It's refreshing and sweet, but the rose flavor is very faint. Unfortunately, I do not like their fruit teas. I find their fruit teas to have an artificial flavor that resembles American Candy and less like the typical boba shops. read more
